I don’t think that’s possible; but sure, it probably won’t hurt.
This ‘problem with data’ snafu comes up now and then. It’s just a superfluous message that never seems to actually cause a problem with playing the game. It usually clears up all by itself after a time or few.

You can try again, try a -repair of the client, and/or contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
Good luck.
Your mouse program may have ways to assign the RMB and LMB to other keys, possibly. I’m not sure there is a way to do it in-game. Or maybe a Windows feature. You could try Googling it.
Good luck.

A 64-bit system can use the 32-bit client with the -32 command line argument (something I do); but not the other way around. A 32-bit system can never use the 64-bit client.
Hi anet:) Display name change question.
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Inculpatus cedo.9234
Every time this request appears, the answer is the same. Not at this time, if ever.
If you are talking about the Display Name Ryou.2398, it wouldn’t matter if you changed it, it would still have 4 numbers after.
If you have a different account, with a Display Name something like 2AV45-4HT67-58IST9-33RIC, then you can contact the CS Team and ask to have it changed. It will cause problems in-game, as sometimes it will show up as the new name, and sometimes as the old.
Good luck.

A 32-bit system won’t use the 64-bit client; only the 32-bit client. The client automatically detects which OS is being used and downloads the pertinent version.
As noted above, you can ask someone (Guild, friend, forum-user, Map chat) to open one for you…anywhere.
Good luck.
It’s one of the more oft-requested QoL suggestions found in the Sticky above. I believe the Devs have stated they are looking into it.
Good luck.
After planting the seed, a Primordial Orchid will be available for daily harvest on the fertile soil. The Orchid will remain there until harvested.
It’s a bug. Give the Devs a bit of time to fix it. You are not forced to do the story out of order, unless you don’t want to wait.
Good luck.
Those are Rift Events. If you had a Stabilizer, you could open the Rift and finish the event. You will find those ‘orange star/circles’ all over Tyria, even in Cities. They will appear and disappear; they are not static.
If you are a new player, I would strongly suggest parking the boosted L80, and create a new character to play through Core Tyria. You won’t miss all the tutorial tips and level-up rewards, and will get a much better understanding of the game.
If you are not a new player, then proceed as desired.
Good luck.
I think you may find Mounts and Unlimited Gathering Tools with a bonus (Gem Store purchase) will be added to the game in the near future.
The other suggestions are unlikely, at least for the foreseeable future.
Good luck.
Again, you did not answer the question. No problem, I think we all understand.
Ok, so it is admitted that one tried to use a loophole, got caught, and now is trying to…geez, I’ve no idea what the purpose of this ‘debate’ is.
I’m guessing the purpose is to be allowed to AFK-farm using said loophole. Gotcha.
Good luck, you are going to need it.
^Right now, it’s (well, a 15% one) already sort-of available in the Gem Shop. It may drop (decent odds) from the Zaishen War Paint Kit.
You’ve never answered the pertinent question. Was this ‘fictional’ character AFK-farming or not? No matter if said character broke the 3 rules or not?
If in this ‘fictitious’ scenario, the character was only AFK, and not using any skills, whatsoever (as you seem to want to imply, as Auto-cast Skill #1 won’t cast without a target), why not just say, “I believe my account was unfairly actioned as an AFK-farmer, when I was just AFK”, instead of saying you interpreted the rules to mean you could farm in this spot because you did not break all 3 rules?
The whole scenario is suspect.
Again, were you, or were you not AFK-farming?
Are you using the web-form accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below to contact the CS Team? If you are using the in-game form, you will garner no response with that.
Have you checked the spam and junk folders? Have you white-listed all the ArenaNet addresses as shown in the Sticky?
If you sent a ticket before the 72 hours allocated to receive Gems with the Ultimate Edition had passed, the Team may have been waiting for that time to pass.
Did you receive the almost-immediate automated response? If so, the CS Team allows themselves 72 hours to reply.
If not, make sure you added the correct email address on the web-form, and check the Sticky (FAQ) above for tips about not receiving emails.
Good luck.
You can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
Good luck.
You can refer to the Wiki for information about acquiring the buff. I’ve not had any issue with it, but it’s also been a long time since I’ve done it.
Good luck.
Mounts can benefit this game only if they are implemented with mount specific combat. That may be interesting and have some potential. But to having mounts as fancy visual buffs to movespeed as they are in all generic MMOs after WoW I say “no thanks”. They do not benefit the gameplay in any way, and old maps will feel smaller than they really are because of the overpowered mount speed.
As for the flying mounts, we have gliders, that are much more fun to use than WoW-ish “floating baloon” mounts.Nuhoch Wallows, Thermal Tubes, Skritt Tunnels, Ley-Lines, Oakheart Essences. New types of transportation were used to replace many waypoints. And that’s exactly what mounts would do. Claiming that we don’t need mounts is just as claiming that we don’t need the systems listed above because we could use more waypoints instead.
Well, no. Because mounts are just a +% of movespeed with none new interesting mechanics. Masteries and glider on the other hand give the player access to unique mechanics. Gliders and oakheart essence can take the player to places he could never access on foot and create combat situations like fight with Mordemoth. Mounts are just running with extra speed buff. Nothing new, nothing exiting, just a fancy model to stick between your legs. Unless, of course, these mounts come with some new mechanics, like mount combat or ability to jump across chasms.
I don’t know about combat, but the mounts previewed a couple of weeks ago had new game mechanics. Each mount could do something different. The features were unlocked through the Mastery system (a Mastery for each mount).
Whether the mounts end up that way at release, or not, is something we will have to wait and see.
Do you have the correct amount of ingredients?
12 Winterberries
8 Suet
3 Eggshells
and the Firestone
If you don’t, it can still consume without giving the buff.
This can affect acquiring the buff, as well:
If nearby enemies interrupt you as you are brewing the elixir, the components will be consumed without successfully brewing the elixir. This includes damage taken from the hot spring itself.
If you continue to have issue, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
Good luck.
Welcome to Tyria, and best of luck!
If you find something puzzling, the Wiki (link above, or accessed in-game by typing /Wiki [topic of choice]) is a great resource.
No, the new maps from Living World Season Three.
I loved Season One, and it’s delivery system. I think it’s one of their best ideas. It’s unfortunate players were dissatisfied, and it was too much of a work-load for the Devs.
If you have the expansion, the new maps offer ascended (and some exotic, I believe) trinkets/back-pieces/accessories.
If not, you can use the Wiki to look up those items for the core game.
Good luck.
Black Lion Keys & Chests are pretty much your standard gachapon system of rewards. That means that each reward is tied to a different percent chance. In the case of the exclusive BLC items, the drop rate is so low that it’s possible to spend hundreds of keys and still not receive the one off item. That’s just not tenable, encourages gambling that goes against the game’s ethos and can ruin one’s faith in spending via the gemstore.
Decent gachapon systems have a mechanism called the ‘pity timer’ which means that after a certain number of attempts the gacha system either increases the odds for the exclusive reward or ensures a near 100% chance. Those without pity timers are usually scam based mobile games which GW2 shouldn’t be
So I suggest that the BLCs add a pity timer mechanism that means that for this month, if you use around a dozen or so keys you get a 100% chance of obtaining the Sworn Zaishen Helm. Or make these exclusive items obtainable only after spending a set number of keys, so that way they can be assigned a monetary value, leaving the random gachapon values for the standard BLC items.
Also don’t add two monthly exclusive items, it’s bad enough getting duplicates of the mail carrier when you only want the helm. Just leave it to one item per month. Or make it that when you receive the account bound item the first time, then it is then removed from the reward pool to avoid pulling useless duplicates.
If you received a duplicate Account Unlock (such as the Mail Carrier), you should have received 2 Black Lion Chest Keys, instead. (Of course, if it comes as a consumable item, you would have to have ‘consumed’ it, first, I believe.) Either way, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link for assistance.
Good luck.
I’m afraid there is no way to ‘refund’ your Legendary.
You never know, the Dagger may be used by one (or more) of the upcoming Elite Specializations, so you may find it useful.
Good luck.
You can try this, from the post above:
Okay, I fixed it!
What I did was locate to the original directory of GW2:
C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2 and move to the \bin64 folder and remove d3d9.dll and restart the game and try logging in! I found this from this user!

Have you contacted the Tech CS Team for assistance?
The Devs (Mike O’Brien, specifically) have already stated that Living World Season Four Episode 1 will follow the release of the expansion nearly within the usual 2-3 month release cadence. (It could be longer due to the expansion release logistics.)
Thus, unlikely for a prequel in that short amount of time. (In fact, the Team responsible is probably already working on it.)
There’s a current thread in the Living World sub-forum, should you seek more opinions.
Good luck.
I don’t think that pop-up should be appearing. I’ve had full XP (Mastery track) bars and even enough Mastery Points to spend, and I’ve not seen that pop-up.
Regardless, once dismissed, it should not re-appear. Some players may not wish to spend their points, even though the track is full.
You are wise to have decided to follow the advice given: Just let it go, and insure fictitious accounts refrain from AFK farming.
I suppose if one has a Rift handy, and does not need to look up the coordinates, it would be faster. I’m not sure how often that happens; I know I would have to travel to a map more saturated with Rifts (say, the Ascalon maps), find a Rift, and then look up the coordinates to where I wanted to go (other than, maybe, the Dry Top one – although, I think I’ve forgotten the coordinates; 15 something, or something 15?).
Didn’t get it in 10, if that’s any help.
After a few weeks, you could try looking at the drop rate listed on the Wiki (once some players have posted data).
Good luck.
Here is a picture of one of the official statements released by ArenaNet regarding extended unattended play: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/22768/report.png
If the CS Team finds any fictitious accounts in violation of this statement/rule, they will action the account. (Fortunately, the fictitious account in question only received a Suspension rather than a Termination of the account.) Another of the game’s rules is that they do not accept appeals for administrative action taken in connection with in-game behavior. (See Conduct Breaches and Outcomes.) That the CS Team even considered an appeal from any fictitious accounts was above and beyond their duty. Thus, any fictitious accounts should consider themselves lucky, and accept the ‘warning’ (again, see the aforementioned legal document).
Where is this place one can speak to all the players that have supposedly quit the game? And where is the place one can speak to the other half who are about to? Though, that seems to add up to 130%. o.0
I remember the ‘good old days’ when the laments were about the Berserker-only builds. Ahh, good times.
You’ve already admitted that you disputed the action taken on your account, and were, at least, twice informed by the CS Team there would be no change in the determination that what you did was found, indeed, actionable.
What, exactly, is the purpose of bringing it to the forums (which is, again, against the rules, as you well know)? Masquerading it as a ‘fictional’ scenario isn’t really going to fool anyone.
You can use the links to each Episode to find what each Episode offers:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Living_World_season_2
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Living_World_Season_3
Rewards include Mastery Points, Achievement Points, gear (backpacks, trinkets, headgear, shoulders, etc.), minis, Home Instance rewards, and more.
Good luck.
The rule does not specify only certain skills; just using a skill. As far as I know, Elementalists have 12 Skill number 1s (not including underwater skills). Does it matter, if the rule states ‘using a skill’?
Are you claiming you were not AFK farming?
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
Aren’t those Dungeons still there? Were break-bars in dungeons? Do new players know dungeons aren’t relevant, if they are, indeed, not relevant? Are there no player skills to be learned in Fractals?
Just kind of reads like a ‘bring back dungeons – create new dungeons’ kind of request masked in a different topic. /shrug
Unfortunately, according to several Dev statements, that’s not likely to happen. Not to mention there are players that just aren’t interested in builds and traits and such. I suppose one might call them ‘casuals’.
I don’t think we are disagreeing. I even stated it looks like more ‘before’ than ‘after’. Though, to temper expectations, I’m thinking a bit of both. =)
Here’s what I’ve gathered from your statements:
Your character was parked in an area that was advantageous as far as acquiring loot goes.
You were not actively playing said character.
Said character’s auto-attack/cast feature was employed.
You did not respond when a GM (who gives several minutes [15-20?] for a response) contacted you.
An NPC sometimes used a skill that caused your character to move, bypassing the feature that would send your character back to the Character Select screen (which has nothing to do with the rules stated by Chris Cleary, and/or could be considered an exploit [something ArenaNet would decide/has decided in a review of your case]).
Sounds like you hit the big 3: Using a skill while AFK, in a beneficial place, and unresponsive to a GM. If you think because you/your character found a way to bypass the auto-log out, it absolves you from following the rules for unattended gameplay, I think the CS Team already ruled on that point, and found you lacking.
At least, that’s what I’m getting from this, now that you have provided more details.
Regardless, best of luck in your pursuit.
I don’t know. I think that statement could go either way…or both ways. It wasn’t very clear on where the “longer than the 2-3 months” would be. Is the “episode(s)” he is referring to Living World Season Three Episode 6 or Living World Season Four Episode 1? Or both?
But, he also said “shipping an expansion is a big deal logistically”, so I guess that would point more to before than after. I’m still not sure. I’m guessing a bit of both.
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
I’m sure when the Devs have figured out, and tested, the fix, it will be posted in the ‘News and Announcements’ sub-forum.
Good luck.
At this rate, you are only likely to find your account actioned once again.
Best to just drop it.
Good luck.
Really. My client must be broken, then, because I see those Rift events on characters that have not completed the map. I tend to only use characters that haven’t completed the map so I can fulfill ‘two birds with one stone’. What won’t appear with a Rift Event is the announcement, ‘New Event Nearby’. You just see them on the mini-map.
Sad for others, then, I guess.
