You could try clearing your GW2 cache, as it may have become corrupted.
Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Troubleshoot Trading Post’.
And/or try deleting your local.dat file: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/201863008-Repairing-the-Game-Client
Good luck.

Well, I did a key run; didn’t get the Helm, but did snag the Mail Carrier. =)
Didn’t take me very long, but it depends on how much you play, how well you can ignore/avoid mobs, how much Unbound Magic you have, etc.
I’m sure someone else will provide the information on which maps one can acquire the necessary currency the fastest. Or, you could just go check the maps yourself.
Best of luck. =)
Nope, you can just buy them with map currency in the new maps. Again, refer to the linked page above.
Here are some examples:

Again, good luck.

You can do any content that awards loot you salvage or sell, and use the Gold to purchase the mats you need. I think The Silverwastes is still considered profitable, as well as Orr.
I think one of the only times players farm Map Rewards is when Frostgorge gives Blood and Eyes, or something like that.
Nope, they aren’t the only ones.
Here you go: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_trinket#Trinkets_with_selectable_prefixes
Good luck.
I recently came back to the game and was shocked at the cost of leather. When I left (before LS Season 1) the cost of crafting was in the exotic/rare materials, not the base materials (cloth/leather/metal/wood).
Now, I did have maxed out stacks of all of the leathers in my bank, and yes I could make a nice chunk of gold selling them, but these prices are just absurd at this point.
A lot of things have changed in 4 years. Have you noticed how easy it is to acquire 2 Gold compared to when you left 4 years ago?
Welcome return, and good luck.
New patch out with the fix.
Good luck.
Well, you could get your community together, create a Wiki, and translate every written piece of content in the game. Might take awhile, though. Something to work on whilst waiting for ArenaNet to add more languages.
Good luck.
^He/She will get two from the others?
Did you contact the Tech CS Team?
Did you try moving your GW2 .dat file to a different place on your drive, in case of bad sector(s)?
Good luck.
Probably been resolved, since it’s 5 days later.
Just rarity? It might be more desirable to have more options, such as Weapon type or Armor class. I know I wouldn’t want to throw my Medium Armor in with my Heavy or Light.
Good luck.
Fishing could be fun; how would one fish, exactly? Could you give your idea on the mechanic?
You might try the ‘Looking for…’ sub-forum.
Good luck.
Meh, it adds 25, maybe 30, seconds total (on 25 keys)? A lot less time-intensive than creating a Support Ticket. /shrug
I’d say Necromancer.
Good luck.
I was confused, as well. Is the screenshot showing that ‘before’ shows up in-game, or is that something the OP placed there?
My problem with the map is that the PoIs show up on every level of the World map as ‘active’. The only way I can tell if they are on my level, above or below is to get nearer them and see the little arrows on the mini-map and gauge the distance from ‘units away’.
Thank goodness it’s only PoIs that do that (although, they are most prominent in Map Completion).
I’m guessing it will come with the Halloween patch, again. =)
I love my Ranger.
But, only you can decide what doesn’t have a flaw you can’t live with.
Good luck.
If you are new, I would suggest you park any characters you might have used a L80 Boost on, and level up a character normally in Core Tyria. Follow the Personal Story, acquire Gems for Living World Season Two, and then enter the Heart of Maguuma.
Welcome to Tyria, and good luck.
You can contact the Tech CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below.
Good luck.
I just did that story yesterday, no issues. You can try a -repair of the client. Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’.
Good luck.
It’s a DirectX issue (d3d9.dll). Make sure your DirectX 9 version isn’t somehow corrupted; perhaps, redownload it.
Like I stated previously, it would be great if they changed their policy about/now have the technology to unlink(ing) accounts.
Best of luck!
It would probably take a lot of work, and time, to re-do existing maps to allow some of these other Masteries. I’m guessing the Devs consider what would be more embraced by the player-base: New content, or changes to old (core) content. It seems new content is pretty popular. /shrug
Maybe we will see some of the old Masteries in the new expansion maps. One never knows. =)
Good luck.
Well, whether one feels it is ‘unacceptable’, or no, the Devs have stated why it is not likely to make an appearance any time soon. (You can find the Dev posts [quoted] in the other current LWS1 thread.) The Devs are pointing players to the video created now, so I’m guessing that further removed any feelings of need (by the Devs) to create a longer cut-scene compilation/recap.
Do be aware…should LWS1 ever return, it won’t be anything like the original. Even way back when Season One was fresh, and players asked about it being brought back, the Devs stated it would only be brought back as something like Fractals, or content similar.
Good luck.
Did you check if your accounts are linked via the HoM Calculator, or in-game with the HoM Portal Stone?
The CS Team is saying the account in question is already linked (to either your account, or some other account). If you wanted to change the account it is linked to, you would have to create a new, different GW2 account to link your Guild Wars account. Thus, it sounds like your Guild Wars account is already linked to one of your GW2 accounts. You can use the HoM Calculator to see if your GW and GW2 accounts are linked, and/or use a HoM Portal Stone in-game to visit the Hall of Monuments and pick up any/all rewards.
I’m guessing there has been a policy change; the Knowledge Base still states that once an account is linked, there is no way to unlink it. Interesting response in your ticket.
That isn’t a ticket number you posted. It’s a bugged Display Name, which you can ask the CS Team to allow you to choose another name for.
You will need to update your ticket with further information for additional assistance, as the CS Team rarely consults the forum, nor act on accounts from forum posts.
Good luck.
Well, the game has changed much since launch 4+ years ago. The level-up tutorial didn’t even exist back then.
Regardless, what is fun for one is torture for another. You could peruse the Raid/Fractal sub-forum for thoughts on which Professions are best for end-game content.
Good luck.
My guildie and I happened to be playing in an area where we were both downed/defeated yesterday, and I thought of your thread.
You do, indeed, see others use of Revive Orbs. The animation is what you see when you use it yourself: a little orb spinning in a circle over the defeated character. If someone was reviving a character using a Revive Orb, I can’t imagine how they could miss the animation.
Unless (and I can’t imagine this is the case), it only appears to party(/squad?) members.
This happened to me again this patch with the Sworn Zhaishen Helm Skin item. I had the first one in my bank (not my inventory) when I opened a few more chests. A second SZHS dropped and was not replaced by BL chest keys. I submitted a ticket about it two days ago and have not received a reply.
When this happened to me back with the Noran’s Safe Room Pass item, I saved the duplicates and made sure they were in my inventory when I opened more chests. That time, when a fourth NSRP dropped, it refunded keys for each duplicate in my inventory, so four keys total. I have not tried this with the new SZHS as my support ticket is still pending.
That seems confusing. One is awarded 2 Black Lion Chest Keys for each duplicate, so if you had 4 Noran’s Safe Room Passes in your inventory, that would be (1 original and) 3 duplicates, and you, then, should have been awarded 6 BLC Keys. Thus, I’m not sure that’s a fail-safe work-around.
I use the ‘close-the-Black-Lion-Chest-window-between-each-used-Key’ method, found here on the forums, myself. I’ve not had an issue since I started using this method.
Regardless, it’s still something that still needs work. Fortunately, the CS Team is great about replacing missing duplicate Keys.
You are welcome.
Enjoy! =)
Do the Devs change other stat sets when they add new ones? Celestial was created long before Viper’s and the other HoT stat sets. I think they pretty much leave the previous sets alone when introducing new sets.
Maybe the Devs will create a new ‘all-stat set’ in the next expansion/future.
Good luck.
This may be helpful: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lock_Auto_Target
Good luck.
You can use the Tomes of Knowledge you receive from Reward Tracks in WvW or PvP to level up.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tome_of_Knowledge
Welcome return, and good luck.
Were you a Norn doing your Personal Story (Guard the Mists arc)? When your character enters the Spirit World, you can get that effect, at least temporarily.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Personal_story#Levels_10-30
Or, standing in or near a Ley-line will give that affect, though I’m not sure there are in in Wayfarer. There is one in Snowden Drifts, though (which is next to Wayfarer’s).
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
I have found very few maps that don’t have Rift Events. Perhaps, only the starter maps? Even Cities have Rift Events. Once in a while, the Stabilizer does not initiate a Rift, but that seems to happen usually when the Rift (spawn event) has reached the end of its countdown, and disappears.
I would strongly suggest leveling one or more characters the natural way, before ever considering using the L80 Boost. Leveling naturally affords you all the tutorial tips, as well as leveling rewards.
There’s no rush to get to L80. The content isn’t going anywhere, and with dynamic level-adjustment every level map stays relevant.
It’s more important to find a Profession you have fun playing than whatever the build-flavor-of-the-month is. Of course, this applies to PvE more than PvP, which I don’t really dabble in.
The Wiki is a great resource for all things Guild Wars 2, and can be accessed via the link above, or in-game by typing /Wiki (topic of choice) in the chat panel.
Welcome to Tyria, and good luck.
I play most of mine semi-regularly. Of course, I have a main, or two, or three. The others have specific purposes: parked at a JP for Silver Doubloons, parked at the Orr wood-farm, parked in the Terrace for Champ Bag opening, a key-runner, parked in the Grove for daily Home Instance gatherer, etc., etc. Some double as mules, as well. Sometimes, I change them up after a year or two. My old Home Instance character became someone I now play semi-regularly, and I moved a different JP-parked character to take over those duties.
I would never think a character was ‘wasted’, as I would delete it, and make a new one to be an Elite Specialist. For instance, I have a Ranger and a Druid; much easier, for me, than swapping between the two.
I have to agree with the above post.^
If one wasn’t privy to the forums during Season One, one might have missed the plethora of threads and posts about the story. Especially disliked was Scarlett Briar. Not to mention, the threads about the delivery.
I, personally, much preferred Season One to Season Two, and even to Season Three. But I, and a few others, were much in the minority at the time.
I believe I stated this before, but if not:
You can ask someone to open a Rift for you, while you wait for the fix, (if the Devs feel a fix should be forthcoming).
Good luck.
As to your last point, there are events there. They are Rift Events, which can be initiated, and completed (and spawn subsequent events), with a Stabilizer.
Good luck.

You can try a program like pingplotter to determine where your connection is dropped.
Good luck.
Sorry, I guess I missed the WvW part.
I know there’s a big guild on HoD from OCE besides the one listed above. I don’t know; there’s always players in WvW when I enter, and I play at all kinds of odd hours.
You’d probably have better luck in the WvW sub-forum.
I’m not sure it matters with Mega-server. You will be placed on maps with friends, guildies, party-members, etc. before, usually, your server.
Of course, this isn’t fool-proof. Sometimes, you end up on a different map than even your party member(s).
Good luck.
I don’t know about hidden. Long before Heart of Thorns released, the Devs spoke about how the new maps/content would be more condition-centric.
Regardless, sometimes the Devs share what they are thinking about with upcoming balance patches, and sometimes they do not. I’m not sure which method receives more, or less, feedback. /shrug
So, do these ‘class tags’ change with each (or some) balance patch? How does that help a new player? Doesn’t seem any different than having Professions without a ‘class tag’. If these ‘class tags’ had been there since launch, the Elementalist would have had a power(?) tag, a new person would have spent much time and effort leveling, gearing, learning the Profession and ‘tag’, then balance changes happen, and the Elementalist’s tag changes to condi(?).
Unless one expects there to never be another balance patch, I’m not sure what advantage these ‘tags’ would be.
