Depends on your graphics card. There are some threads over in the Bugs sub-forum about lighting and specific graphics cards. You may want to look them over.
Good luck.
I have no real issue with the new unlimited tools. I can get why somebody might be annoyed (to put it lightly) if they bought a set of unlimited tools just a week ago or so, but if you bought them months or even years ago, you probably got your money’s worth. And there’s still plenty of people who buy tools without bonuses – looks are also important, you know!
Actually, I bought unbreakable tools earlier in the season and no, I did not get my money’s worth from them. I bought them early enough that I could not get a refund (yes, I asked) but right after buying them I realized limited-charge UM tools were better. So basically I have a set of 3 tools that have nearly not been used that I can not do anything with. Not even send to an alt!
Why can’t you use the Unlimited Gathering Tools on an alt?
When HoT launched they stated that only new expac stuff would be behind the paid edition, so when expac 2 comes out HoT will be F2P for everyone. No need to suggest it, it’s already going to happen
That’s not what they said.
In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.

Nothing at all about previous content moving to Play4Free.
You can try a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted files. Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’.
Good luck.
That’s not a gear treadmill. That’s just adding some intermediate steps. So, instead of 5 Tiers of gear and Legendary, there would be 5 + 4 or 5 semi Tiers and Legendary. (A gear treadmill never ends; there’s no ultimate tier of gear, as time goes by.)
I guess what you are suggesting is a (semi) reward for the time-gates… /shrug
Good luck.
The Wiki shows the cost of each item, as well. You must read the fine print.
Time depends solely on you. How fast do you gather map currencies? How many materials have you in storage? How much Gold have you, or how do you earn Gold? Will you be using cash or playing for your items?
Good luck.
Have you tried putting it in last? Changing the order around? Sometimes the Forge is finicky.
Good luck.
Can you change underwater pets while above ground? I’m not sure; it’s too early here.
The eyes? I’m not in-game right now (it’s much too early), but I remember seeing where each panel dyed when I previewed it.
Good luck.
Or, you were in one of the places that did drop dye. I opened all my keys in the Terrace; no problem receiving dyes there.
The bug seemed to be, either you got dyes (and things were ok), or got none (that was the bug). It was all or nothing, depending on where you were when you opened dyes. If you opened the chests all in the same place, you probably got all your dyes. Might have been the PvP Lobby, or Fractal Lobby, or something.

The Devs have previously stated that past expansions, as well as the Core game, will be included in each new expansion (pack).
So, in essence, free (of additional charge).
You might want to be working on the things that would be helpful when the next expansion arrives. It will probably be 5-6 months before the next expansion.
Totally up to you, though. There’s a lot of story to go through, if you want the expansion story to make sense. A lot of easy-to-acquire Ascended Gear with HoT, as well. Which might, or might not, come in handy for the next expansion.
Good luck.
Which is why you need to contact the Billing CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below.
Good luck.
Before there were Elite Specializations, I’d guess Guardian or maybe Warrior? were the most ‘support’-like Professions.
It’s different after L80 when one can access Elite Specializations. Ranger is an easy Profession for keeping oneself alive, and can become a Druid (Healer-type) once Elite-Specialized after L80.
Good luck.
You can use any of the options in the drop-down menu, and the report will eventually make it to the right team.
Or, you can create a support ticket and offer the information that way.
Good luck.
I think this thread may have veered a bit off-topic.
The Devs may, or may not, offer the Unbound Magic Tools separately in the future. Perhaps, if there is enough desire for such an offering from the playerbase, the offering will be more likely, than not.
Either way, I would not expect a separate offering any time in the near future.
Good luck.
you can still go and use them all up …
This is merely a simple request that would literally affect nobody and only benefit people who’ve bought bank tabs worth of unbound magic tools for convenience reasons. Let alone I was mainly asking for a straight yes or no by Anet. I’m going to buy the unlimited gem store ones regardless of what they say, that isn’t a problem for me but it would be nice to know. So I can either delete or keep so months down the line when they happen to implement something I get karma for it.
For an individualized response, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below.
Although, the CS Team will likely either tell you flat out, they won’t be refunding Karma for any tools, since they have never done that for any Gathering Tools bought with Karma in the past, or refer you back to the forum, and tell you to post it as a suggestion. Either way, it is highly unlikely you will get a response here.
Good luck.
Gee, I rarely enter Lion’s Arch, and when I do, I don’t see very many players there.
Nor do I find these ‘empty maps’ everywhere. There must be some odd thing happening with these select other players’ Megaserver algorithms, or something. Maybe they are on lower population servers, or don’t belong to Guilds, or have no one on their friend’s list….or something. /shrug
Would be nice if you could check for name availability at the beginning of the creation process.
There is a skip to the end button.
Thanks. Did not know that. If you skip to the end and name your character, can you then back up and do the creation process afterwards?
No, but you can create the character, enter the game, immediately delete it, and have that name reserved for you, and only you, for 24 real-time hours.
Good luck.
Well, you can dye in preview, though it’s a little clunky.
You should each submit a ticket to the CS Team, as each case is looked at individually. What prevents one person from purchasing Gems may not be the same for another.
Good luck.
As noted above, ask the CS Team to remove the Serial Key for Heart of Thorns from your old account, and use it to create a brand new account.
Voila! Starting from scratch!
Good luck.
I’m not sure that Developer story is true. As I remember, it was Linsey that spoke about fishing, and I don’t remember anyone laughing at her.
Still, it was some time ago; I may be mistaken.
I would strongly suggest leveling a character from 1 to 80 naturally. You will learn more of the mechanics of your Profession and the game, and won’t miss out of the level-up tutorial tips and rewards.
You can always go back to your boosted character later; you will eventually, probably, want a character of each Profession, anyway.
Welcome to Tyria, and good luck.
Do be aware: You will lose any and all upgrades on your weapon.

Good luck.
Here you go: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_equipment
I don’t believe there are any Legendary Trinkets yet.
Good luck.
There’s always the Wiki. And if you find something that is in-game, and not in the Wiki, you can add it!
Good luck.
Fix in latest hotfix patch.
Fix in latest hotfix patch.
Funny, one can still, without trouble, create a character in Guild Wars….even after all these years.
If it takes 512,780 attempts to find a name, I’m not sure the name pool is the issue.
Oh kitten. Did the watchwork pick debacle teach them nothing?
It’s not the same since you can buy expendable ones for karma. These is just the unlimited versions.
No, it’s exactly the same. It’s about breaking a certain principle, which is really dangerous. Before they broke it, i could be sure than what i buy from gemshop won’t become obsolete at some point in the future. Now i know that’s untrue, and Anet, in their rush for more shortterm income gains, will kitten me over (again) at some point. There will be a “new tier”. And that one won’t be safe from the same happening again either.
I think it’s more akin to the Basic Salvage Kit and Copper-Fed-Salvage-O-Matic, than OMG, this item has made my purchases obsolete. It’s not like one could not have already used the exact same item, but in a limited capacity, before.
Sometimes, items are improved in the game. Sometimes, it’s even due to player feedback/requests. It would be difficult for the Developers to have the prescience for every change that might happen years down the road.
Can we do something about mastery points?

His agenda? I don’t think it’s some wild idea that some people do content that don’t enjoy to get a reward, and getting the reward doesn’t magically make them like the content. Nor a wild idea that some people abstain from content they don’t like, regardless of the reward.
If I don’t enjoy the content in a game I’m playing for entertainment/enjoyment, why would I do said content? It would have to be a pretty grand collection of pixels to make me do something I really didn’t like.
Ok, there’s that, as well. Thanks.
I think that’s a bug that the Devs should address soon. It just appeared with the latest release patch.
If you are a new player, I would suggest parking your boosted character, and level up another character the natural way, so you won’t miss the level-up tutorial tips and rewards.
Good luck.
Gee, I’ve never purchased Gear from the TP, except for an occasional weapon (for the) skin that seemed cool, but not too expensive.
My characters wear what’s dropped for them, or with Ascended Armor and Weapons, what I have crafted, or earned in-game with a quest/story/etc.
It just feels like cheating, to me, to purchase from the TP, for almost anything. I’d doubt I’ve made more than 20 or so purchases from the TP since launch.
I know, I’m odd.
this is kittened anet,
i bought my 3 harvesting tools one by one so 1000 gems each
i have a Mine-r-Tron
a Chop-It_All_Logging Axe
and a Consortium Harvesting sickle
i paid 3000 gems in total. i get you put them in a bundle and we get discount cuzz we spend more at once but the fact that they give players EXTRA BONUSES (the unbound magic) is just kittened. why do i pay 3000 gems and get unlimited uses, while someone who happened to buy this set of unlimited gathering tools get extra free magic ? just explain that please.
Well, you could ask the CS Team to roll your account back to the time right before you first purchased an Unlimited Tool (and lose all the convenience you’ve had since then), and refund your Gems spent, and then purchase the new Tools. Also, ask them to prevent you from purchasing any items that may, some day in the future, be improved, until said improvement materializes.
Good luck.
At least the Devs changed the preview to show us in combat allowing animations (like with Legendary Armor) to show.
I’m appreciative of that. =)
Easy solution would be to offer level 80 boosts for the cost of gems and a level 80 character. You lose the character and get a level 80 boost in the in-game mail.
I mean, legendary and ascended items are account-bound anyway. Not to mention how accessible exotic gear is. You would only really lose story progress, which is worth it if you’re desperate enough.
And Map completion, and anything else character-centric/bound. There could be a fair amount of content that would have to be repeated.
The link to the Sticky isn’t about anti-virus programs, at all. It’s about adware programs, such as LavaSoft, which sneak into your computer piggybacked on programs like Bing, which often comes with Windows.
You might consider doing a thorough search of your computer (not just the first level search) for these kinds of programs.
You can set your options to stream files while you play, as long as you have passed the ‘playable’ mark on the launcher.
Good luck.
The only way to ‘reset’ the game is to create a new account. The CS Team can’t ‘reset’ part or all of an account, other than Account Restoration, and they don’t do it on a whim, only in cases of account compromise by a third party.
When you bought the expansion and received a new Serial Key, you could have created a new account. You can contact the CS Team and ask them to remove your new Serial Key via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’.
Good luck.

No, they’ve all been either on the Forum, or on another guildwars2.com site page linked to from the forums or from a mail in-game.
This may be helpful: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Crash-Issues-During-Patching
Good luck.
Several items are more, much more, expensive that the other items in their tier. I think it has more to do with demand, than just being in the same tier.
Should all the materials in the same tier be as expensive as those need to create a Legendary Weapon? Or as inexpensive as those not needed to create a Legendary?
Just like Silk, and other mats, I’m sure down the road, the ones that are near vendor-value today will be worth a lot, and vice versa.
Good luck.
There are several teams, but the members of those teams are fluid. The Devs move around as needed for projects.
The Devs, long ago, addressed in-game polls, and stated that polls (polls were used before launch in Betas) were not something they found useful, and weren’t planning on offering them in-game, again. The Devs do, however, offer them (some more formal, some more informal) outside the game occasionally.
Good luck.
Once you finish the L30 arc on all 5 races, you no longer need worry about race. After that it is the 3 Order arcs you need, so you don’t need each race to L80. You really only need 5 Races for L30 arc, 3 Characters for the Orders arc, and 1 Character to finish the L80 arc.
You do receive Black Lion Chest Keys at ‘Setting the Stage’ (L40) and ‘Battle of Claw Island’ (L60). You can read in the Wiki what each L30 Personal Story chapter rewards.
As above, you can purchase Cultural Armor with any character, at any level. It’s not like your L80s would use it, anyway. (It’s less expensive in WvW.) Just unlock the skin and throw it in the Forge.
You can use the (Hero Panel) Achievements to check for any Achievements you need, backed up by the Wiki.
It’s been sooo long since I’ve done the Explorer Achievement, but it was one of the first I did, long before the Personal Story. Are you sure Agrak Kraal doesn’t unlock just be being close to it?
Do be aware, if you join another’s Personal Story instance, and accept progress on their arc line, you won’t be able to move back to your arc line until the Level arc is finished.
Good luck.

I guess your only option would be to slow down a bit when opening Black Lion Chests. Savor the experience! =)
Good luck.

Hmm…I don’t seem to have that issue: no response/misclick. Perhaps, there are some options in your mouse software you could investigate.
Good luck.
Yes, you should level a character normally, rather than using the L80 Boost. You won’t miss all the level-up tutorial tips and rewards that way.
Except for playing in WvW, it matters little which server you choose, as all servers in PvE are together using the MegaServer feature.
You can use the LFG to find others/groups/parties/squads to play with. You could also join a Guild for play-mates.
I don’t know how out-of-date the ‘…tips for new players’ Sticky in the Players Helping Players sub-forum is, but you could read through that for tips. The Wiki, of course, is a great resource for all things Guild Wars 2. (Link above, or accessed in-game by typing /Wiki [topic of choice] in the chat window.)
Welcome return, and good luck.
