Make sure he is using his email address as his log-in username, not his display name. This confuses many new players.
If the ticket is over 3 days old, he can post it in the sticky for 3-day or older tickets thread. Regardless, he needs the ticket number posted.
I am pretty sure I don’t use your herein referenced ‘meta’ build, and I do just fine. I play with the builds that work for me, and my odd style. lol
Being a long-time Guild Wars vet, I am sure they are always working on balance; they have stated this is so many times.
You can create a ticket with support and ask, not likely you will get an answer on the forums displaying the chat in question for all to see. Good luck. =)

Nope, posting on the forums does not speed your ticket along, unless you have heard nothing for over 3 days. Also, without a ticket number, no one would be able to help easily, anyway. Good luck.

That is a phishing email. Please remove the link therein. Ignore and delete the email, as it is a scam trying to get details on your account.

Have you made sure to untick all the boxes in any of your achievements? If you have any boxes ticked, other than daily achievements, daily achievements will not show up on the right side of your screen (although they will still be doable). If other achievements are ticked, only they will show up.

It is pretty easy to set up an email account…through yahoo or whatever. Whichever email you contact them through, they will respond to.
Also you can contact support through support.guildwars2.com. Just go to ‘My account-support-ask a question’, at the top of this page.

Yes, he can play on NA servers. As to lag, many people say they have little to no lag playing in regions other than their own. YMMV.
You need to use your email address to log in to the game. Your email is your username. The name that shows up in the forums is your display name.
I know this is supposed to be the case, then one wonders why there are so many “I’ve been banned” threads. How DO they get access to the forums?

Sigh…ok, one last time….
Did you happen to notice all the other emails just like yours that people have received recently? All those phishing emails? The forum has several threads on this issue. All of those people received emails about ‘Guild Wars’, not Guild Wars 2, and some people do not even own Guild Wars (1).
I do hope you got the only legitimate email out of the bunch, but the evidence seems to indicate otherwise.

We can not stress enough: that email is NOT from ArenaNet. It is a phishing scam email. Do immediately change your passwords. Do not fall prey to this scam. Please.

I have to agree with most of the other posters…I have never bought gems and converted them to gold, yet I have purchased several bank slots, minis, town clothes, etc. All with gems converted from in-game gold. I am not a farmer, or even a dungeon runner. In fact, (lol), I rarely get my characters out of the lower levels. You can make a decent amount of gold just by selling off the low-level gathering materials, certain things you craft, (its hit or miss with me, I don’t even investigate what might sell well), the rares you get from doing the boss events, DEs…this and that. I rarely use waypoints, and rarely need to repair. I am now halfway to Golden..yay.
I am afraid I just do not understand why your game experience seems to necessitate so much gold spending.
This works for me, but perhaps you would not enjoy my playstyle.

This should answer any questions you might have.
Remember though, that rollbacks are only viable if the account was hacked after a certain date…December 1, 2012 to be exact.
If your account was hacked before that date, your account will not have the option of restoration.
If you are both in the same region, you can purchase the game through buy.guildwars2.com and send him the code that comes in the ‘thank you for purchasing’ email, wherein he will register the game with his email address.
Or, if you prefer, buy a hard copy.
You dont even need to look at world selection tab. The information to the left of your character in character selection screen shows which world (server) you represent, along with your present location, profession, etc.
If you are in different regions, perhaps you could wire the money into his account or moneygram him the money…something like that.

This is not a legitimate email, but a phishing attempt. You should not put that link where people can click on it. If you read the email closely, you can see it is not from ArenaNet. There is no such thing as ArenaNet Entertainment. ArenaNet would never ask for such information, unless you contacted them first. Please destroy the email.

To avoid punishment yourself, you should remove all user names from your post. You are not allowed to post names, as it is considered character assassignation. If you submitted a support ticket about this issue, you should hear back soon. If, for some reason you are not contacted within 72 hours of submitting your ticket, do post the ticket number in the thread for tickets over 72 hours. It should be in the stickies for the support forum.
Hopefully, you sent screenshots showing said abuse along with your ticket, but even if you didn’t, they can check the chat logs.

I am sorry, I do not see where ArenaNet announced how these new dyes are obtained. Just that someone had datamined the new colors. If someone would be kind enough to link me to the official announcement, I would be ever so appreciative. Thank you in advance. =)
Otherwise, it seems to be conjecture (which may be true..or not) on how to get these dyes.
Yes, you can pause the download. Just stop downloading at any time, and start it up again when you are ready. The counter will reset at 0%, but that is just how many files are left at this particular download session (it restarts counting files left to download).
Approx 15Gb is the size of the client, you can install a copy of the .dat file obtained from another GW2 user.
The downloader is confusing in the way it keeps track of what has already been downloaded, but there is no problem starting and stopping it, and you can look in the properties of your GW2 .dat file to see how much you have left to go. Hope this helps.

As much as we would all like to have the rules bent for our special circumstances, it just isn’t fair to others. Even if you get a speedy response, you may not be happy with the answer to your plea.
Isn’t the ANet HQ in Washington?
I believe it resets once per day, sometime after midnight PDT. I, too, am remembered, yet I must log in once a day.

It isn’t necessary to buy a new account (for Emily, although if she has an extra, then she could use 2). A server transfer would be cheaper, or if she has yet to start playing, she can just chose the EU server you have all agreed upon. It isn’t like Emily could buy an EU serial code (thus her account will be placed in the NA service center, regardless), unless she traveled to Europe, of course.
Remember, you can freely switch servers if you delete all your characters. There is a cost, otherwise. But as you just started playing, deleting characters may not be much of an issue.
You should post your plea for help in the technical issues forum. There is someone there now answering questions.
Unless, of course, you already have.
I have no idea if this would work, but some video cards (such as Nvidia or ATI)that have software programs that may allow you to change the resolution of the game outside of the game. You could check that, as well. Just a shot in the dark.
You can always exchange gold for gems and pay for a transfer that way. =)
Sounds great…why don’t you set it up for each server? I’m sure everyone would be very appreciative. =)
