How is warrior's survivability in general.

Warrior survivability are horrible.
Just this!

Any classes that comes with full power, break warrior in pieces in less of 5s.

I play with 3100+ thougness, and elementarist, ranger, thieves, mesmer and guardians just ignore all thougness. I not even have time of use skills because insane dmg or cc spamm.

No way. Every good player will sweep the ground with you, and you not will be able to react.

In Skull Cracker build basicaly stun with f1 and chain Axe#5, the dps are realy high.
Are a combo with 16s CD, much better than Bull’s Charge or Sheld Stun + 100b. And without need cast utility slot or swap weapon, even if foe BS, you can repeat the combo in few seconds, and the foe’s skill will be recharging

Axe 5 DPS is lower than mainhand Axe 1 and like I said with my traits adren gain is fast enough as it is. The Skull Crack + 100b is a cheap gimmick but it works way better than Axe 5.

100 b is better because
1: you can follow the burst with whirling strike, dealing another chunk of damage.
2: it’s on the same cooldown as skull crack.

And can be used against downed opponents. Whirling can too, but the first is on half the cooldown. AND you’ll end up with 8 stacks of might.

And you still have good mobility and damage outside of the burst. And shield gives you another block. Greatsword is by no means a poor choice.

In my condition build i use sword/sword, and i have 2,25s block + reflect projectiles + 5 adrenaline every 15s. If the enemy hits close i inflict 8k bleed.

Actually warrior’s dps are insuficient against tons of defencive recoures that another classes have, and all then are spamming conditions faster you can cleanse.

Necros, Thieves, Rangers and Engineers can put down all your hp in less of 10s only with conditions. Warrior can do the same, but in 20s or 30s. Elementarists, Guardians and Mesmers are dealing insane dmg with insane sustain and control, if you have less of 3k hp you are dead faster you can do same thing.

In my opinion, weapon skills needs massively impovements.

In free weapon set can play longbow fo AoE + condition. Then you will have condition + cc + dps + aoe + cleanser only in weapon set.

I agree with buff healind signet to heal 300 per second.

Actualy the max heal you can get in Healing Signet are 273 per second. This runing full cleric + healing power runes + 25 stacks of sigil of superior life.
273/s = 2730 in 10s, 2730 we take in one single hit.

Actualy, this passive effect are insufficient.

Have you played it?

Yes.

Do not works against:
- condition spammers
- bunkers
- fast healers
- hit and run(or evade) with ranged attacks.
- burts (because -3k thoug = instant death)

GS only viable in glass builds, and PvP is not place for glasses.

I recomend put 3k or more thougness, and mix raw dmg with condition dmg, or go full condition.
All another classes(thieves have other resources) have easy access to protection + regeneration + retaliation at same time, good heal skils, evasion in weapon skills, combo fields. Warrior have nothing.

In my opinion Mace are useless without Axe, all then properly traited(if you need swap weapons to deal average dmg, is because are some thing wrong with weapon skills).
Sheld are unthinkable. High cost and low reward in skills… Never use sheld! Embrace my idea
Sheld will become viable when his #4 stuning for 3s or more, and #5 block for 5s or more.

I laugh of bulls/stun 100b combos, they rarely takes 5k of me The sweet thing is after bull’s charge or stun ends, and my conditions continues dealing massive dmg

No way to warrior survive agaist any other classes, does no matter what sort of build you make, other classes just charge and get close of warrior and stomps easily.
- No needs warrior aproach, the enemy will make because he know that nave no danger -
Make a warrior and go s/tPvP and see yourself, you will be forced to stand far all time and careful to any enemy get close to you, if he aproach end close melee you are dead.

- Some times i think Anet want us play like glass nuker Archer or Sniper, hided of enemi.

You hanen’t seeing nothing.
In sPvP, Engineers spamm everi tipes of turret, mines, bombs, heal kits, roket lounchers and more and more. Theu spawn a point and no one can kick hin of there.

You need see Necros, Guardians, Rangers and Elementarits, all then with tons of anoyng summons and insane defense and regeneration.

I kill necros. Bad necros.
When i face a skillfull necro, he charge me with tons of fear and conditions. Only the bleed damage is superior to 20k. With fear, torment, burn and another things… lol insane, very insane.

CC no not works, i tryed CC, raw dmg and resists. Nothing worked.
The only thing that works are stand far of then and spamm condition with long bow. But how can i take the point if no has space to i stand in safe range?

Like melee, i would have advantage in close range, but in sPvP the thing are inverted :/

I have sereval

Signet of Stamina: Passive = Increase endurance regeneration in 50%, and stacks with vigor. Active = BS and remove all conditions. CD = kitten .
Dolyak Signet: Passive = 180 thougness. Active =BS and grants invulnerability, or take no dmg for 10s. CD = 60s.
Berserker Stance: Increase damage in 25% for 10s. CD = 60s.
Endure Pein: BS and Reduces incoming dmg in 50% for 10s. CD = 60s.
Balance Stance: BS and grants unshakable for 10s. CD = 60s.
Shake it Off: BS and removes 3 conditions of yourself and allies. CD = 25s.
Fear Me: Induces fear and remove all boons of foes. CD 60s.
On my Mark: Induces vulnerability(10stacks) and weakness for 10s. CD = 30s.
Healing Surge: Reduce cast time to 1/2s, and CD to 25s
Mending: Reduce cast time to 1/2s, and CD to 20s.
Healing Signet: Reduce cast time to 3/4s, and CD to 15s.
Rampage: Duraction = 1s per stack of adrenaline in moment of activation, and not lock weapons skills. CD = 100s.
obs: change stability for unshakable.

Traits:
STRENGTH:
Reckless Dodge: Grants 5 stacks of adrenaline on dodge roll.
Restorative Strength: Use heal skill removes poison, bleed, torment and burning.
Powerfull Baners: Baners damages when sumoned, and grants 5s of combo field light when planted or sumoned.
Berserker Power: Each stack of adrenaline grants 1 extra point in this trait line.
Berserker Might: Actives berserker stance when have 3 or mor stacks of might. CD = 60s (not share CD with berserker stance)

ARMS:
Blademaster: Increase critical chance with sword in 10%. Sword skills recharges 20% faster.
Heightened Focus(replaces Furious): Each stack of adrenaline granst 1 extra point in this trait line.

DEFENCE:
Sure Footed: Increase Stance duration in 25%. Stances recharge 20% faster.
Spiked Armor: Replaces Last Stand in master major slot.
Last Stand(replaces spiked armor): Actives balance stance whent hited by CC. CD = 60s (not shares CD with balance stance).
Iron Will or some another name (replaces Deft Pain): Each stack of adrenaline grants 1 extra point in this trait line.

TACTICS:
Lung Capacity: Shouts heals. Shouts recharges 20% faster.
Defy Pain(replaces Inspiring Battle Standard): Actives Endure Pain when hp falls to 50%. CD = 60s (not shares CD with endure pain).
Hope or some another name(replaces vigorous shouts): Each stack of adrenaline grants 1 extra point in this trait line.

DISCIPLINE:
Might Defences(mix with missiles deflection): Gain might, and reflect missiles whenever blocking. Block skills recharge 20% faster.
Buy Time or some another name(replaces heightened focus): Gain health or Steal health when use burst skills.

This skill calls Unshakable, champions monster has it.

I think warrior could use this skill with Balance Stance.
“BS, and grants unshakable for 10s”
- obs¹: The defiant will stack normaly, acording number of enemy in area.
- obs²: This change afects the trait “Last Stand”, but could not share CD.

Extra armor do not helps in nothing

I would trade 200 extra armor and 200 extra hp for 50% uptime protection.

I think Warriors was not OP. The fact is the Warrior was projected to give huge dmg and kill the enemy before he can use his tons of means.
Looking the video, we can see warrior’s hp falling down too easily, and he are using sheld.
If the dmg are nerfed and the fight lasts, warrior ends for no have means of sustain the fight, and ends dying.

This are hapen today!

If Anet don’t want warrior too stronger, they need compensate the huge nerf dmg with a huge sustain improvement.

i suggested this on another thread and i think it’ll at least minimize our blind frustration with a single trait buff.

we have http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Short_Temper which is an adept major trait in the strength tree,

we could add in an effect to instantly recharge our weapon/burst skills after missing an attack or getting blocked in addition to the might stacks.

so when you do get blinded and miss your big earthshaker, your skills don’t go on cooldown, you can use at again immediately but this time with an added 3 stacks of might. of course instant recharge effect will have icd.

That’s because power isn’t viable anymore. What the heck, how can people even think that doing direct damage and getting countered by weakness, protection and the fact direct damage on ranged weapons is always weak so all the anti melee effects like laying fields of AoE death at your feat, cripples, disengages etc…

And on the other side you get necro and engineer that can AoE apply at 1200 range conditions that deal easily as much damage that melee power builds can reach. And for sure a LOT more than ranged power builds.

Even funnier, you got necros that nearly completely ignore block, in a 1200 ranged AoE package while melees have to always deal with that pesky guardian or engineer block block block block block block …

Edit : forgot blind too. Sure blind affects both melee and ranged skills but ranged users have a much easier time getting rid of it and not getting the condition on them in the first place.

You’re right. There seems to be more ways to mitigate direct damage, and not enough ways to mitigate condition damage. Right now we have more conditions than boons, which means we could really use a new boon that helps deal with condition damage.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

  • Resilience (boon) – take 33% less condition dmg
  • Immunization(boon) – immune to conditions for x seconds
  • Bezoar(boon) – next condition fails to be applied

those of you that don’t know the word Bezoar, look up Bezoar stone

I supose Thieves will have access to all these boons, and warrior will no have accesse to any of them :P

Blind is not problem. The real problem are all conditions.
I think warrior playng GS + Bull’s charge bild are suffer too much with blind, but if we focus in one condition, we’ll continue suffer with bleed, torment, fear and anothers conditions.

Our utilityties, weapon and trait skills are insufficient.
Yesterday, i spamm conditions and conditions to a Guardian, and he just eat everything. I hit, hit and hit, and in the end he fills his hp and kill me.

No chance to fight a thing like this.

We can’t hit cause aegis, protection and retaliation all time.
We can’t face him cause summons and GS skills.
We can’t deal condition dmg cause he convert, inutilizes and fills his hp all time.

This is a perfect mix of sustain + dmg.

I don,t want take more than 25 stacks of bleed at same time
Today in sPvP, a new record was broken. A thief hit me 43k ONLY BLEED, and kill me in less of 5s. Was ridiculous insane mix of burst dmg + condition dmg.

I agree with sugestion only in PvE, but in PvP or WvW are inviable.

I think that’s because WvW is more open field while PvP is more or less centered around small circles you have to stand in. Warrior possess great mobility which is much more useful in a game mode where kiting is easier and more rewarding.

/edit: Also damage numbers in WvW tend to be much higher. An offensive warrior can put real pressure on anyone there.

I don’t agree

Warriors are melee, then are no sense they be weaker in close areas and strong in large areas.

And about damage, all classes will be improved in WvW, if one raises the another raises at the same proportion.
Are no way of a Warrior put pressure on anothers classes. All then have tons of sustain resources, they just comes and face me like i was harmless.

When warrior become OP in WvW or PvE, Thieves, Mesmers, Guardians and all other classes will become Demi-Gods, cause they will have access to the same advantages that warrior.

The changes in sword was very good. The sword chain become fast and cool, and final trust are a good burst.
The pointless are final trust animation be too slow.

The trait “blademaster” could additionally reduce in 20% rechager skills of sword.

The currently utility and elite skills has an effect very similar. Most of them are self or group buff.

Some skills could have their effects mix to one single skill, and a another and new skill could be add.
some skills could have their effects changed…

These guys needs meet some peoples in world history like Myamoto Musashi(Samurai), Spartaco(Gladiator), Leônidas(Spartan), Átila(Barbarian), Alexandre(Greek), Gengis Khan(Mongol), Maomé(Arabe), Audie Murphy(USA Army), Aleksander Nevsky(Russian), Simo Häyhä(The white death), Hiroo Onoda(Japan Soldier), Vlad Tepes III, and much more. All great soldiers, warrior, heros.

I think Anet need review his concept about warrior taking look in greats icons over history and mixing with mitical icons like Hercoles, Aquiles, Belerofonte, Ajax, and a lot more.

No exist bunker without protection + regeneration + invulnerability. And 3k tough are nothing to condition necro or burst thief.

S Tier:
Nil

A Tier:
+ Mesmer – Untouched mechanics, still very high invuln(evade lol like there’s much of a difference) uptime, still very high burst, all on the same build. Also now some mesmers are running Mantra of Pain for very frequent 2.6k~ heals, I don’t even know why they’re allowed to do that together with everything else they can do.

= Guardian – Recently seeing quite a lot of damage-spec’d guards, that can do moderately high damage with burning on the side while still being very survivable due to blinds/aegis and block heal + invuln

= Engineer – Largely unchanged as far as I can tell, thankfully not using Elixir R as often any more, imo being able to either consistently res yourself or force an opponent to stop attacking you to prevent the self-res is just amazingly OP

= Necromancer – Not known as FotM for no reason, although personally I thought they were already good when played right. Now they just apply so much pressure in any fight involving them that you’re basically forced to focus them down first.

- Elementalist – Loads of healing, loads of movement. Quite a distance away from when they used to be considered FotM.

B Tier:
+ Thief – Blind spamming thieves are just awful to fight. Right now with the skill requirement of using blinds effectively being lowered so amazingly much, anyone can negate a lot of damage. Also quite a fair few thieves trying out condi builds, but it still suffers from the same problem of not being able to blanket up their damaging ones well.

= Ranger – Nerfs to pets were coming from a mile away. Still very good healing, very high dodging uptime, pretty good bunker.

C Tier:
- Warrior – Hey I would have put him lower but I do like the direction Anet is headed with warriors. Hopefully they don’t actually think that cleansing ire just by itself was enough to fix warrior. Blind superbuff has now killed most melee warrior builds, Condi meta has now forced most warriors to run 20 defense for Cleansing Ire, both also contributing to warrs being shoehorned into using a Longbow. Maybe next time, Warrior.

Excellent writeup. I agree with pretty much everything you said. A longbow warrior might make C tier, any other warrior build is F tier.

I don’t have a problem with the new Necro, it’s just the amount of them that makes it insane. Like one or two, ya whatever not a big deal. But there’s like +4 on every team which makes it frustrating. I even played a tpvp earlier today three Necros on the other team, and most spvp matches look something like this.

it was the same with thieves, and rangers before… people just need to learn a new way to fight against them, instead of crying cuz they lose again xD

Teach me plz. Haw can i play against Thief, with Warrior.

I fight against necro with LB, but they come to me and face me with tons of fear and conditions all time. Whan no has more place to flee, i fall dead :/
Necro bleed taking +32k in few seconds…

I am seing amont of superhuman and supernatural being fighting my warrior, a mere and mortal human without any super hability :/

Don’t waste time on suggestions, they don’t listen. U should actually know that. They want to see build diversity, yet they force us to pick “i must have” traits.
