Decided to capture a few mix-n-match clothes images for solidarity. Don’t mind the cliche color scheme… usually it’s more interesting but I’ve been into the devilish look lately (another reason why clothes shouldn’t be made into undyeable tonics):

That’s not entirely true.

The preview system used to allow previewing all armor types at the same time. There were some clipping issues at times but I never noticed anything glaring like a giant gap in the midsection or anything this seam talk would seem to imply. Hell, if you are worried about that, you can already find minor examples within a single armor class: wear aetherblade heavy leggings and whispers heavy breastplate on a female human. I love the look but there is in fact a tiny gap on the backside where you can see the environment through your character. So if that is already tolerated, I don’t see a big deal with allowing you to equip town clothes with potentially “conflicting seam” armor. If something looks funky I just won’t wear it… and if there is really some huge problem (which I doubt) Anet can just make a restriction that you have to wear only town clothes if you decide to use a piece. Anything is better than this solution.

At a point just saying it’s not impossible because it isn’t. It really requires the design team to get into this and do the conversion to make awesome things happen, even if it requires to visually affect the clothes, it’s better than the alternate solution.

There’s a difference between “impossible” and “not feasible.”

I don’t know what the limitations or restrictions are. I can only guess. So can anyone else. What I really am getting tired of are people with NO knowledge of the code or the systems involved pretending it’s something easily solved and its just a matter of being lazy or stupid.

What I can say is from what I’ve gleaned, no… it’s NOT something that would be easily managed. You’d have to adjust EVERY piece of town clothes to work with the animations involved. Not “impossible” by any stretch, but would it REALLY be worth the investment of time and manpower?

If you are just talking about a little clipping then… who honestly cares? If some combo clips THAT badly I just won’t use it. But with this solution they are throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Arena.net apparently thinks “No.” You can try to convince them otherwise, like many have in this thread alone, but come on… we can also lay off the spiteful venom.

Animations are general purpose. There is a reason why there are a million and one skyrim armor mods and a million more animation mods. You don’t have to worry about compatability, as long as the armors react to skeleton movement properly (which they obviously already do in GW2, since you can move and dodge roll and use toy skills and such just fine in any town clothes). This isn’t 2d spriting where you have to draw a new sprite for each animation and clothing combination.

If they can make one override slot they can make more. I am quite sure the reason they didn’t and are also doing this tonic ridiculousness, is to avoid people wearing “non-lore friendly” items such as khaki shorts in combat. As if it is so much better to have a horde of flaming pumpkin heads running around.

Almost every costume in game has at least one ugly piece!

Are you kidding???? More like every set MIGHT HAVE ONE good looking piece! That’s why we have to mix and match….

Completely agree. I bought witches costume for boots. Wintersday for… boots. Pirate for anything but the horrendous boots.

And of course the awesome khaki shorts, dragon emblem shirt, hoodies, and bunny ears will now give me a random assortment of bland clothing and not even be usable in combat. And probably disappear on waypoint. Great.

A little added note here, Outfits will still respect the ‘hide helm’ toggle so you can absolutely wear Wintersday or Mad King outfit without the hat or pumpkin.

But we want to dye them! And mix them up with other items!

Behold the beauty of an Asura with a pink wintersday outfit and a pink quaggan hat. This has been possible for a year, and now it suddenly isn’t anymore? I thought this patch was supposed to allow us more flexibility with armor? Seriously, at least tell us why you are doing this. As it is now, I can only assume that you just hate cute Asura in pink Wintersday outfits and pink Quaggan hats. And that’s evil.

Outfits can still be dyed, They will have up to 4 dye channels depending on the outfit.

Sorry about the mix-and-match. Converting things to be armor and combat compatible did come with some trade-offs. For the most part we tried to favor mixing with armor slots and skins (a lot more possible combinations). Hopefully we’ll see more consistently usable customization now that part of it isn’t hidden in town clothes that get turned off every fight. Outfits come as a set and equip as a set with the added benefit of not costing charges or requiring items to apply onto additional characters.

Sorry? That’s all you have to say? You are completely scrapping one of the biggest rp features in the game and that’s it? Why can’t you just take the obvious route and give 5 override slots instead of 1? Or at least just leave town clothes in the game separately! I will flat out say it:

Almost every costume in game has at least one ugly piece!

Now that we can’t mix and match 90% of town clothes in this game are ruined. Imagine if you did this with armors: 99% of people would quit the game. Just because a minority of players used town clothes extensively doesn’t give you a right to treat us in this way!

I love to use my Wintersday town clothes on my human male, but I really hate how the hat looks on him. I much prefer the coolio aviator sunglasses that he is currently wearing.
I would be very disappointed if he always had to wear that hat. x_x

I do like the Mad King’s outfit on my Norn, but I would also like to show his face while wearing it. I would also be very disappointed if he had to wear the pumpkin head all the time. :/

A little added note here, Outfits will still respect the ‘hide helm’ toggle so you can absolutely wear Wintersday or Mad King outfit without the hat or pumpkin.

What about ugly boots on the pirate outfit; can’t toggle those off! I am really upset at this whole announcement. If you aren’t going to do “town clothes as armor” right, don’t do it at all. I hate almost every complete set of townclothes in existence, and mix and match everything. I bought wintersday outfit purely for the boots.

And now khaki shorts and devil horns and bunny ears are going to be tonics? How in the hell does that work? Just by virtue of using a “bunny ear” tonic I’m going to get some bland clothing to go with it? Why are you taking away my ability to wear khaki shorts, casual hoody, wintersday boots, and devil horns/bunny ears at the same time? This is really upsetting. Add more customizability, don’t take it away!

Was it so hard to just add an override for each slot and leave everything the same?

Why I don't like Stone Heart...

I think you underestimate the potential for thieves to be good. Who cares if the trait works against bad thieves? You should be able to beat bad players of ANY class with any other class if you are good. Who wants to take a trait designed to counter bad players?

Now, the fact that eles are so hard-countered by thieves that even bad thieves can prevail against a good ele is a whole ’nother problem.

Also agree with op. Soon people will be rationalizing ele weakness with the magical x/x/60/x/x build that somehow manages to take both diamond skin AND stone heart.

[PvX] Balance, Iteration, Wrongdoing

in Profession Balance

Jabberwock.9014

Please listen to this man. Why do you insist on packaging every balance fix in with a thousand other changes so that you have absolutely no way of knowing what did what, and what is broken? The essence of experimentation and testing is to test ONE variable at a time to see what breaks. Now maybe one change at time is not viable, but at the very least you shouldn’t do literally everything in one ridiculous behemoth of a patch. The goal should be change as little as possible at a time, not as much as possible. The other problem with your current approach is that balance problems which are ruining the meta like healing signet are not hotfixed to stop the bleeding, but left to grow like a tumor for indefinite periods of time.

Additionally, op has completely nailed it on the pride point. Why is it that over a year later, the completely unjustified and massive nerf to ride the lightning has not even been acknowledged, much less reverted. That’s right, I must have seen dozens of threads over the past year with the community begging for the devs to revert the change, yet in not ONE have I seen a red post addressing the grievance. Maybe you are very slowly starting to swallow your pride, since you are finally reverting the cleansing water nerf, but calling that “too little, too late” would be understatement of the year. Reverting one nerf over a year later while ignoring the numerous other unjustified nerfs that were packaged with it is not exactly reassuring.

-Protection on attuning to earth from elemental attunement no longer reduces as much damage.
-Extra tougness in earth from earth 5 minor won’t reduce as much damage.
-Obsidian flesh is not as useful since it doesn’t prevent as much damage.

learn2math.
Those things stack multiplicatively, unless there is some hidden mechanic, which I missed, where protection reduces normal damagge by 33% and critical damage by 50% or something.

Insulting and wrong. Would you use obsidian flesh and mist form at the same time? No, that would be stupid because one already reduces damage by 100%, making the other reduce damage by 100% of 0% of original damage… in other words 0%. The same applies for lesser values: if protection is reducing damage by 33% already you are only taking 67% of original damage. If stone heart reduces incoming damage by lets say 50%, you are eliminating 50% of 67% of original damage, or 33.5% of original damage. If not for protection, you would be eliminating 50% of original damage with stone heart. Stacking multiplicatively is a bad thing when you are talking sub-one multiplication… you get 66.5% reduction instead of 83%.

It’s not like I’m saying protection or dodging are bad when you aren’t taking critical damage. It’s just that they aren’t pulling the same weight they did alone. This is opposed to synergistic things like healing and protection, which make each other stronger.

Jabberwock.9014

I don’t understand the logic here. Do 30 Air eles stay in Air? Do 30 water eles stay in water? NO so why are we saying 30 earth is trash because nobody stays in earth? Cleansing water is trash because no ele stays in water and water certainly doesn’t have good damage at all. I don’t even understand how this is a thing because nobody stays in a attunement for long except maybe a staff Ele.

Not valid comparisons at all. Both 30 air and 30 water eles take advantage of one time attunement procs like lightning strike (air) and healing ripple/EA heal/cleansing wave/regen/soothing mist (water). The whole point of these builds is to get in and out of air/water as fast as possible to trigger on attune effects as often as possible. Additionally fresh air makes it so that you don’t need to stay in air to access air skills often.

Stone heart on the other hand only confers an effect by staying in earth… which also happens to be the second worst attunement to stay in (water is worst). Most people use earth for quick protection/stability, blast finishers, knockdown, maybe immobilize/leap, and then get out.

30 fire is going to make my world, most of you don’t seem to have any clue of the potential. Hint: Think spvp (Small number fights) and pick up the trait to burn on CRIT!

I’ll admit this is intriguing. But all those random blinds are gonna make it so you can no longer skillfully time blinds. You’ll always be on cooldown. Maybe if the cd was more reasonable we would have a real contender, but 5 seconds just seems too much. Thieves can blind a whole lot more often than that and they have problems staying alive too without stealth. Keep in mind going 30 fire means relatively poor healing.

Yep. The warrior equivalent to ele situation would be to put sigils of bloodlust (or w/e) on first AND second set. That’s obviously not optimal. Ironically warriors are receiving another net buff (they can more than fully offset healing signet nerf with sigil of renewal, which isn’t even a great sigil).

There are enough counters to backstab, like timing dodge and shocking aura. I don’t want to take a grandmaster trait to further dampen a single skill on a single class. It’s not like thief has trouble saving initiative for next stealth after you exit earth anyways.

Bad thieves are predictable. By virtue of attunement compartmentalization, ALL eles are.

Wow @the new traits for Ele

in Elementalist

Jabberwock.9014

I’d like to add to the list of redundancies and anti-synergies that stone heart introduces. Since you can’t be critted in earth:

-Protection on attuning to earth from elemental attunement no longer reduces as much damage.
-Extra tougness in earth from earth 5 minor won’t reduce as much damage.
-Obsidian flesh is not as useful since it doesn’t prevent as much damage.

Why are all our defensive eggs being put in the earth basket? If we are attacked anywhere BUT earth we get almost no defensive bonuses from any traits or skills… but unfortunately with the crappiness of earth auto we usually want to be anywhere BUT earth. I don’t buy switching to earth to avoid burst as being very useful… good players can just time burst for after you switch out of earth, and just auto-attack you in the meanwhile probably trading hits better than you even without crits because they aren’t using terrible earth autos.

IMO there is a big problem with ele design. Devs think they need to put everything in nice little predictable compartments. Ele would be in a lot better place if they didn’t put ALL healing in water, or ALL defense in earth, or ALL burning in fire. This goes for skills and traits.

In reality we haven’t lost any healing, at least in WvW. We now get 2 sigils per two-handed weapon and can take 4 on swap sigils at once. So take sigil of renewal on one weapon and you now have 394 healing every 10 seconds with fast hands (39.4 healing per second, which makes up for healing signet nerf and more).

Bye ele.

Waited a year for fix and this is all we get? We still haven’t even come close to pre-nerf levels, and pre-nerf level is still underpowered with all the buffs other classes have got in the past year. Stone heart is crap since earth is crap for damage, even with condition build (ele condition build isn’t even great and relies on constantly switching attunements to get cover conditions). You’ll just get condi-bombed and have to switch right back into water to cleanse and there goes your crit immunity. And it’s not like you’ll be tanky even when not taking crits; we have pretty much half the hp of war and 300 less armor so non-crits will still wreck us and force us out of earth into water to heal. The only build I can see somewhat functional is the most boring build in game: mono-earth scepter that auto-attacks all day and uses sigil of fire for burning. Talk about promoting skilled play.

Air gm is laughably bad.

Fire is alright but should have lower cd. Fire line still sucks to hard for it to make much difference.

Water gm is for water field bots.

Arcana gm is laughably, terribly, atrociously bad. It’s insulting for them to think any of us would be dumb enough to take this over EA. As if ele needed more boons to get corrupted, while giving up a 1300 heal every 10s (in addition to blast finisher, burn, and blind).

Now look at war: 100% crit chance while wearing soldiers whenever using eviscerate which already has 3x power multiplier (so 4.5x base multiplier with no ferocity). Gonna have to give up that nice burst reduction gm (that or cleansing ire, but cleansing ire is too op to not take in any build) sure but this is just insane damage for tanky builds.

Grandmaster traits. Is this our overall buff?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Jabberwock.9014

Jabberwock.9014

I just feel like 5 new grandmaster traits (which we will only be able to use two) won’t fix us. unless they are really over tuned.

Most of us will still be going 30 into arcane and 15 in water because anet doesn’t feel like increasing anything in terms of our baseline scaling to damage, defense and healing. And im also really scared that this will be classed as the CDI for us.

Exactly. EA is already one of our strongest traits. Can’t really get an upgrade there. We needed something good for water gm since it is the only other gm you can take besides EA if you want good healing (healing ripple requires 15 in water, preventing gm anywhere else). But this one is completely useless except for support (something current water gms already provided enough of), and there is almost no way the changes to other gms can help our survivability due to dropping healing ripple. So I expect a net change of 0 in my build if lower tier traits are not moved or improved.

Aquatic Benevolence - new grandmaster trait

in Elementalist

Posted by: Jabberwock.9014

Jabberwock.9014

Worst trait ever. Looks like the “NEW EXCITING ROLE” eles are getting is being pure support. Isn’t ele supporty enough? We desperately need help in solo play, and just plain helping OURSELVES survive (after all can’t support anyone if you’re dead). Looks like I’ll be switching to war for good where solo play is actually encouraged rather than spat on. Maybe even necro with the new incredible personal survivability gm they are getting.

Even on the support front it’s not that great. Main source of heals from ele is just other people blasting your water fields. This won’t effect healing from that to any meaningful degree, even if you are blowing arcane wave and arcane brilliance at the same time. I’d rather just take the other gm to clear conditions on others and myself.

Furthermore these new grandmasters are particular kitten ing for ele since GM traits are about the only good traits we DID have (EA, fresh air, diamond skin), while we are outclassed in lower traits and pure stats by a lot. So while other classes can stand to gain a lot, we really don’t stand to gain anything, especially with mediocre gms like Aquatic Benevolence. Unless the description of “Stone Heart” reads “you gain the base stats of warrior” I don’t have much hope at this point.

Additionally in Anet’s recent blog post “The Final Countdown” they say “This last chance to earn these rare rewards from battling to the top of Scarlet’s airship and facing her holo-defenses is only available until March 18!”, so it seems a safe bet that this is your, well, last chance to earn these rare rewards.

Lemme explain a thing

in Warrior

Posted by: Jabberwock.9014

Jabberwock.9014

Eles also have various blinds, perma vigor, and nearly perma protection. Warrior has one blind on a 20 sec CD. Sustain isnt all about healing. Without HS warrior has literally nothing AT ALL for sustain unless you stack healing power with vigorous shouts, which lets face it is terribad

1. Ele has no blind on d/d. War has low cooldown blind on longbow that is a projectile finisher to boot.
2. Ele needs to waste dodge rolls on EA to get heal, negating vigor
3. Ele has TRAITED protection, which can be corrupted, stolen or stripped easily. War has nearly twice as much base hp and 304 more base armor which can’t be corrupted, stolen or stripped. With no traits.
4. War has Adrenal health which is another 100 hps passive (it’s insanely easy to build adrenaline)
5. War can use lyssa runes to get full condi clear, protection, regen, and aegis every 60s.
6. War can get regen often from dogged march, fully passive.
7. War has 3s block with shield.
8. War has 4s no damage with endure pain.
9. War has 8s no conditions with adren build with berserker stance
10. War has increased armor from doly signet.

Tell me again about war having literally nothing for sustain besides HS? Playing ele is an exercise in frustration since almost all healing is active and it clogs your mind so you can’t focus well on actually observing your opponent for openings. Not to mention makes you incredibly predictable and inflexible since you have to switch in and out of water every 10s or your healing is crap. With war, an entire half of the battle is done completely passively, so you can use 100% of your efforts on examining opponents and picking them apart with well timed immobilizes, stuns, and powerful burst attacks (like eviscerate).

Ele is my main and war is my secondary. But I think from my last few weeks of playing war exclusively it is my new main. There is almost literally nothing ele can do that war can’t do better, and I dare even say skill cap for war is higher since you aren’t locked into mindless predictable rotations.

If healing signet is wildly overpowered like you say then that would mean warriors are wildly overpowered when using it, which is not the case. I run rings round warriors with my mesmer they barley pose a threat.

I do the same with my war and ele. It’s because most people are bad. However, when on my war it is even easier to kill these bad wars than on ele. Mesmers are one of the classes I fear least on war since those invisibilities can only last long against my constant damage output, and phantasms are all destroyed by longbow burst which also clears conditions any destroyed clones may give me.

Such a black and white comparison again. There are so many other forms of defense you have to take in. Like said before, also you are a ranged class.

Ele is not a ranged class. Ranged classes don’t even exist. Ele has ranged weapons. So does war, and it also happens to be one of their strongest weapons (longbow). The difference is ele cannot take both ranged and melee weapons like war. D/D ele has nothing that hits 900 range or above besides magnetic grasp.

Others just like have thought the same thing, and I would wager the price increase since the start of the patch has been largely pushed by speculators fighting over the limited rifles. As I mentioned back, one guy has at least 200 of the Kiss rifles (this when it was around <160g)

This skin may end up like SAB, where a lot of people are hoarding these to the point that sellers will keep undercutting and they will dwarf demand. A lot of people have learned ever since the Halloween skin situation to hoard limited time items.

But this skin does show signs that it’s a perfect long time investment in that
a.) It’s actually a really good looking rifle, so it will good demand
b.) It’s a rifle for LS1, and I don’t think there is a reasonable way for Anet would reintroduce

Honestly the fact that one guy has a near monopoly on the thing only makes the skin’s prospects better in my eyes. Don’t have to worry about the lemmings panic selling… it’s only gonna be sold drip by drip.

I don’t think this will be like (the first) sab. That was a month long event that people were constantly farming. Farming = bad long-term investment. This content was difficult enough that many people said screw it after the first time, limiting supply. Much like monocles from aetherblade dungeon and skins from the second sab.

The only thing hammer is really good for in pve is the blast finisher on earthshaker for might. But that’s because it was designed primarily as a pvp weapon, where cc is king.

Diamond Skin, Too Powerful

in Elementalist

Jabberwock.9014

This trait needs to be looked at. It’s not just the trait but the build people are running with it. If you are playing any condi class beside say a warrior you simply cannot do enough damage to ‘break’ the diamond skin and eles know this. The trait should be reduced to 97% hp or just simply removed all together. The ele will just be immune, immune, immune. I dueled a diamond skin ele for 15 mins on my condi engi was only able to finally win by using smack when he was close enough and had his blink on CD.. otherwise he would just run away heal and come back into the fight. If people wonder why this game is dying its because of the people developing it. You guys need to fire the people that are working on your classes because seriously some of the things in this game are just straight kittened.

This is a riot. You WON the duel with a build that is MEANT TO BE COUNTERED by ds ele, yet are still complaining that ds is op. Is ele considered such a free kill these days that they are not allowed to put up a fight? It’s obvious that this ele had to sacrifice all damage in order to pick up diamond skin and good healing traits, so I doubt he could even scratch you. The idea that it took “too long” for you to kill him is the most entitled thing I’ve heard in a while. The arrogance of some players is astounding…

And 97% just makes me rofl. Almost any attack, even a necro mark will break 3% of ele’s tiny hp pool with ease.

How is that going the opposite direction?? please develop your reading comprehension more. If the profession these players always complained about being weak, underpowered, jack of all trades master of none …….is getting buffed to the point it MIGHT become op like it used to be then they should stop complaining. I bet someone will post “the ele was never op” blah blah blah…

No need to be so needlessly insulting. People are saying that ele might still be UP after this patch. You say they might be OP. Just two sides of the same coin really. Or opposite if you will. If someone is flat out stating ele will for a fact be UP after this patch then I agree that is a baseless claim since nobody is psychic. On the other hand to speculate that they may be is perfectly valid.

Myself I’m leaning towards ele (at least d/d ele) still having no role based on the fact that Tyler Chapman has flat out said there won’t be many balance changes besides sigils/runes, which helps war more than ele anyways. I feel that d/d is currently poor man’s war… can do an ok job but war can do just about everything moderately better, so no point in taking ele. Based on what info has been given to us (only 8% reduction on healing signet, pity buff to burning speed) I don’t see any reason right now to believe ele will become op. Indeed it seems to me an indication they are going to be overly cautious due to the previous massive overbuffing of wars and necros. You may not agree but at least respect the opinion.

Also keep in mind Tyler Chapman was just laid off so he probably has been overemphasizing his last few posts to leave on an optimistic note. #elepocalypse is basically his sign off.

Funny how you bash folks for being skeptical and go right in the complete opposite direction saying ele might become op. Last time I checked, none of us had the patch notes… and it’s probably more realistic to be skeptical given the track record. I’ll believe ele is op when I see it. An 8% reduction in healing signet hps and evade on burning speed don’t exactly sound like game changers to me. Of course setting my expectations low means more potential for me to be pleasantly surprised.

I really, really hope that the new awesome thing eles are supposedly getting is weapon swap though. That would open up this entire class so, so much… it’s getting extremely stale as it is. I am convinced lack of weapon combinations is a huge reason eles have stagnated in the meta… everyone knows how to deal with the few types of eles there are, and it’s nearly impossible to adapt to new metas.

I really don’t trust them to do anything significant enough. D/D ele is in an atrocious state, being outclassed in almost every way by warrior. Warrior with longbow and axe/shield has far better vitality and armor, equal healing, better single target damage, better condi removal, better aoe (longbow burst and longbow 3), better might stacking, better crowd control (shield bash and pin down), and more versatility in range than d/d ele. Not much is gonna change that. Maybe weapon swap and hp boost.

And sigil change + dual sigil 2h weapons benefits war more than d/d ele.

Mobs don’t stand still nearly as much as people give them credit when you are in pugs or zergs. That is why I like d/d better in pve. Way more fast hitting aoe and cleave.

I wish it didn’t remove burning. Or didn’t have a cooldown. The way it is now it invariably leads to cleansing a burn from random dodging and then it’s on cooldown when you get chilled, which is the condition you really want to remove. The fact that it doesn’t remove conditions from allies means there is no excuse for it having this useless restriction.

A lot of Mini Captain Magnus

Jabberwock.9014

Magnus is exotic in name only, and it actually negatively affects his price since you can’t forge him. Because there is massive supply, it never binds to account (like all minis), and Magnus is one of the least popular/most bland npcs I know, I doubt he will ever rise in price much (maybe in 5 years when people who stored him in their bank have left the game).

Condi Ele is much better a year later now ^_^

Jabberwock.9014

In wvw I think condi or condi hybrid (celestial) d/d or d/f ele is the most viable ele. However, the problem is perplexity will likely get torn a new one when they overhaul runes… and really, perplexity is the only thing changed since a year ago.

Geomancy sigil is getting nerfed as well (they are nerfing the direct damage). Although we will be able to stack doom and geomancy, wars will benefit even more with potential for 4 on swap sigils.

The best possible sale item for march...

What the hell? I didn’t even know this existed. Really unfair move putting this item in the gem shop for such a short time with little to no notice. I agree they should bring it back… I have the airship pass but those loading screens are annoying as hell.

They did announce it. It was their “black friday sale”. Friday/saturday/sunday after US Thanksgiving, ]they had a different item each day. We didn’t know what they were goign to be but we knew it was happening. I and a lot of other people just had things other than guild wars to do on thanksgiving weekend.

There was never much indication there were going to be NEW items up for sale. I never paid the sale much mind because I didn’t need any old or current items that they could have put on sale. Hell I even vaguely remember seeing royal passes in the store but assumed they were the old temporary ones, since it was announced as a weekend SALE, not completely new inventory. Really dumb having this “sale” and then in fine print: “oh by the way, we also threw in a completely new rare item which may never be released ever again. Hope you notice in 24 hours.”

Yes Ele needs SERIOUS buff

Jabberwock.9014

When playing longbow and axe/shield war in pvp, killing eles is like killing sparkflies… it really is obscene how fast they melt. Whenever I see an ele I feel inexplicably happy and immediately focus fire them. If by some miracle they get away I feel cheated, since in my mind I’m the winner before even landing an attack. And this is me in tanky pvt armor with utterly ridiculous staying power (500+ heal per sec, shield block, endure pain, zerker stance, massive hp and armor) , still dishing out 7k eviscerates (that also happen to clear 3 conditions). I honestly get anxious when I try and play ele in pvp now, since I KNOW I have a giant target on my back. It’s night and day with focus fire playing ele vs anything else… everyone and their mom always nuke ele, and for good reason: ele can’t survive focus of ANY kind; be it direct damage or condition or both.

Please make dailies feel more natural

The biggest slap in the face are dailies like “kill 30 white/trash mobs”. While not the longest daily, there is absolutely NO way you will ever get an achievement like this in normal play, so they are explicitly encouraging going out of your way to port to Queensdale and whip sparkflies and frogs for 3 minutes. With how much actual content this game has, it’s a bit insulting to make us waste our time on such a mundane and utterly pointless task. Whenever I do this daily, I’m thinking: “What am I doing with my life? I’m walking around in a video game genociding virtual frogs. That can’t even attack me. Because the UI told me to.”

Things fundamentally broken

Jabberwock.9014

The biggest thing is definitely these selfish achievements. For god’s sake, stop putting in achievements that encourage people to afk, leech, or otherwise go against the interests of the group. Same thing happened with jungle wurm causing people to selfishly wurm hop to get achievements, so they obviously aren’t learning the lesson. Either that or it’s some kind of twisted social experiment to see if a group can succeed in the presence of leeches.

I can make a 100x better achievement just off the top of my head: kill all colored holograms before they split. Requires coordination and actually HELPS the group. Hell I can even come up with a name for it: “Chromatic Crusher”.
