I’m trying to find a good season 1 recap video that is very detailed including stuff from the molten alliance.

I have a friend who just joined the game and is about to head into the 2nd half of season 2 and I’d like for him to have the jist of everything that is going down

first half of season 2 recap would be a sweet bonus too if there is one

DE being in SW was a gimme because we had finally found out what they had been up to in the Echoes patch

We already knew DE wouldn’t know about the dragon’s egg, the only people who are supposed to know are the Brotherhood of the Dragon, and then eventually the Zephyrites who took over. The only reason we have found out is because kitten is hitting the fan.

Taimi learning about heat ratios and going back to Rata sum doesn’t answer any part of an open ended question.

Caithe acting weird doesn’t answer anything.

We already knew the aspect masters were trying to find the master of peace and them getting killed answered zero questions

We found the master of peace but were still kittened knowing where he was going because he was attacked and didn’t reach his final destination, and we didn’t get to hear what he was going to tell us, MORE QUESTIONS!

The pale tree’s condition is the same as when we left her is the only real answer we got of the patch, but most people assumed her condition to still be rough and possibly slowly dying after getting kittened by the dragon.

my list had 4 things you okayed as answers, and 3 “speculation” answers that were put in books and reading text that devs put into the game….i’m sure that text isn’t too important

but I digress they are speculation, so my 4 answers to your 0 answers, possibly 1 about the condition of the pale tree

this patch sucked….but i’m hoping this is only because like in season 1 they had a big patch, and the a mini-story patch 2 weeks later that kind of wrapped things up, followed by another big story patch

so i guess we’ll see

I’ve got a bad feeling that the new format of the living story journal is going to promote a sort of “Lost” style of storytelling.

i agree with that

and the problem with that is the reader, watcher, or player can become very fatigued of having cliffhanger after cliffhanger after cliffhanger, with no satisfying advancement or answers to current open ended plot lines

When an Elder Dragon dies and leaks magic into the world, there is an imbalance and another dragon will take its place. Tequatl became stronger because of this.

The deep sea dragon’s name starts with an S.

Zhaitan is indeed dead, thanks to part of him hanging in the Hidden Arcana.

The master of peace was indeed holding an egg.

The pact was making a base in the Silverwastes.

Destiny’s Edge 1.0 would also be assisting in the fight against Mordremoth.

We found the nesting area of the mordrem.

The apostate from GW1 wrote that God’s are not eternal, their power cannot be destroyed but passed on, much like how Elder Dragon’s work.

The 6 orb mechanism we saw in the eternal alchemy has a name that was given by the Apostate from GW1 called the Antikytheria.

That’s about all I can think of for right now without going back and replaying the episode.

Really? You’re going to list every small thing? One could do the same for this patch. What you’re doing is no different than what car dealerships do with car features by listing everything they can possibly list to make it seem like buyers are getting a lot.

Besides, your post was about the story and made no mention of release content.

Then do it, you’d be hard pressed to come up with a bigger list that answer’s LS open questions.

Looking specifically at the playable story parts this was not really any shorter than last patch.

Not every patch have to give answers.

The teaser was most likely more to show that they have not forgotten Rytlock and that we will meet him again sooner or later.

yeah, i’ve made up to 20g in 4 hours of world boss farming, and I make sure to kill Tequatl and 3 headed Wurm as they tend to give really really good rewards

not only was this patch short as hell after a promising start to the to the 2nd half of season 2, which I hoped could continue…..

it didn’t answer any questions, just gave us more of them

and it didn’t include a single part about the Rytlock teaser

this game is driving me insane

Well it was certainly after her death, the egg was given up because Glint could no longer protect it herself, remember what happened when we tried to take one of Glint’s eggs in the first game? XD She would have no part of that happening! lol

I suppose you could say she is a dragon predictor then, who happens to be pretty spot on as far as we know. If she can foresee something happening, she must’ve had a plan in case things went awry.

though it is assumed that Mordy is kittened off at the Sylvari for breaking away from his command, and thus why he is attacking the Pale Tree instead of the Asura who were definitely closer to him, and their city EXPLODING with magic.

I hope this is the case. It would make sense that Glint, a dragon capable of compiling prophecies, would have been able foretell what was going to happen in the battle versus Kralkk.

What if she had a backup plan to be re-born sort of like how a Phoenix would rise from it’s ashes, perhaps Glint can resurrect from her crystals.

It is assumed that the egg was given to the master of peace shortly after Glint’s death, so perhaps she had a plan all along.

I hope so. I was rather fond of Glint. I will be fine if it turns out to just be an offspring of Glint, but if it was actually Glint resurrected, that would be awesome.

I’ve only done SB a time or two since mega-server came out. One was last week, and the event was heavily populated. However, world bosses occur every three hours. It seems likely that there will be some spawn times that will see lesser numbers due to player sleep and work cycles. Guaranteeing that any given map will always be heavily populated at all times is just not going to happen.

Still, the situation seems odd. Are you sure the three hour timer was right for SB to appear? I know that Svanir pre-events occur in Wayfarer Foothills a lot more often than three hours, but the Champ Svanir only pops on the timer.

That said, I have also seen relatively few players in any of the starter zones in the few times I’ve been there since the zones were nerfed. Taking away any reason for max level characters to be there (other than hanging with someone who’s starting) was guaranteed to reduce the population of the starter zones.

I checked out, and it was definetly SB time going on.

So there might be more populated map going on, but they were stuck in empty one. They didn’t have any tool or help to get more populated map. There weren’t any Taxi going on to more populated map. Maybe SB was even done in other map, if there were any. Maybe another map was full, and this map were made just for those guys.

I think they both were rather new one, so I think they didn’t even know how to use LFG tool either.

I remember how in Guild Wars 1 players were able to choose another district. That would be good tool in Megaserver too. So Taxi’s would not be needed if player could just choose another district/map and problem would be solved.

There are times when Tequatl, Sand Giant, or 3 headed wurm will also be going on during SB….so it may have been that

but still i have not been to an SB that does not get killed yet in the last 3-4 weeks since coming back

The person asked what the shadow behemoth was….which means it didn’t spawn at all? They could have at least gotten the pre done to show him what it was. The event still happens even if there are only 2 people there.

I have been world boss training all day, and on each of my 5 Shadow Behemoth kills there were at least 50+ killing him.

maybe the person is mis-informed about world boss timers and it wasn’t even the right time for the boss anyways

after dec 20th, Anet goes on a break til about mid-january for a holiday break…i believe the releases started back up around jan 20th

so we will likely get episode 6 on the 18th, episode 7 on the 2nd, Wintersday on the 9th, and then a big break til the last week full week of january

I guess we technically don’t know if Glimmer is still alive, but was definitely alive at the end of GW1.

Or if Glimmer succumbed to Kralkk’s corruption and wasn’t free like her mum.

She could have taken over if she wasn’t corrupted, right?

I mean it isn’t too hard to just say the “power” that Kormir absorbed WAS Abaddon and that slowly over time he took over his vessel.

Abaddon wasn’t killed in my mind. Whatever we destroyed in the realm of torment, didn’t mean jack squat, the power was still threatening to take over the world and cause Nightfall anyways.

Then Kormir stepped in to take the power. To restrain the power. Abaddon was the master mind manipulator. See Varresh.

What happens when that power wears and tears on Kormir?

Just as when the Abaddon we know got his powers by taking them over from the previous one, what if the gods need a newly chosen vessel every so often?

I would say the community overall is amazing, but the community on the forums has it’s up and downs, mostly up. Sometimes things can get hairy with things being thrown at Anet when a patch hits that people don’t agree with.

It is because we love the game so much though, and usually demand perfection for something we love so much.

I hope the game eventually means the same to you as it does to me!

Yeah, but Glint’s lair was a pretty big part of this update, definitely the one people freaked out when they saw, figure they would put more resources into that than random trash mobs we fight in the Silverwastes

They are supposed to be crystal dragons!

we will prob get them at the end of living story season 2…at least a free one, kind of how you got a pact skin after killing zhaitan

Better question is: what was it doing there? Those devices are in the Crystal Desert.

Yeah, I know the Crystal Desert is the last place Abbadon walked Tyria (was the Crystal Sea then), but still, seems really odd to have in the Durmand Priory.

Can’t say for sure, but i think they put it in there to give a bit of a hint what was going to happen. Most Gw1 players would’ve recognized it and knew something was going to happen that involves the Crystal Desert.

Glint’s Lair is in the Crystal Desert so that is my take on why they put in in there.

Technically Glint’s Lair is either in one tiny speck of sand, which could have been put into that hour glass, or it’s in EVERY speck of sand from the crystal desert, and could techinically be anywhere.

In GW1, those teleportation devices were used heavily before we fought our doppleganger and became “ascended”. Then we were sent to Glint’s Lair to hear about the flameseeker prophecies.

So it was some really heavy foreshadowing of going to Glint’s Lair, or it is possible that we will also have to become ascended like our ancestor’s from the past.

……is something that I hope continues. I get so tired of coming on the forums and seeing nothing but complaining, even when Anet sometimes deserves it.

Here’s to Anet making an awesome patch, and hoping they keep the GW1 lore coming in healthy doses!

I am all for the Elder Dragons getting their story arc, but something I cannot wait for is setting Cantha free from dictatorship, and ending Palawa Joko’s rule in Elona. That will be some heavy doses of GW1 lore.

yeah I’m definitely buying my precursor out right, probably with my tax return at the beginning of the year, if I don’t just outright buy my legendary entirely to skip all the grinding in the first place

yes it’s about 300-400 bucks to outright buy a legendary through gems -> gold

but i have played guild wars 1 since the beginning without a subscription fee

i played WoW for 5 years and spent 900 bucks on 15 dollar/month subscriptions, not counting all the character server/faction transfers

I think I can re-pay Arenanet with 400 bucks for creating one of the most pleasurable game series that I have come across

and lets face it, the only legendary that matters is eternity…or one of the parts of it you like better than the other

It’s been 14 months with no SAB, I am going insane without new jumping puzzles to play, along with that insane difficulty.

I’m hoping that after Season 2 ends, we’ll get World 3.

Just because his statue is there that doesn’t always mean he’ll be actually present in the game. But from the looks of it, this episode seems to focus on travelling back to the past so that possibility is still there.

Hi there, coming back from the season 2 break, so I’ve been gone for roughly 4 months.

At least I think it was june, maybe early july.

Anyways, right before I stopped checking forums, there was a rumor about longbow buffs (finally), and was wondering if there is a new cookie cutter LB/GS zerk build out there for PvE only.

So with the addition of the Chaos Axe skin…..my ultimate favorite skin in GW1. I want to rock dual axes. The incoming buffs to offhand axe will be a plus!

So I saw the ranger buffs that are incoming, and since my ranger won’t feel like a turret getting locked in place for 5 secs using barrage, I’ve decided to return to her. I mained an interrupt ranger in GW1, and sadly while I can’t do that here, I can still be a ranger!

I don’t PvP or WvW very much.

I’m going to assume full zerker’s for PvE. What runes?

morde awakened far before the ley line tap….that’s how he was whispering to Scarlet….it just took the ley line breaking for Morde to be like….“THAT ENERGY, TIME TO SHINE”

in the destiny’s edge book, they also acknowledged that Kralkk was the last dragon to awake

The problem I see with the orbs being the elements, is that it showed the orbs being dormant, and then being lit up as if awakening. The elements are still out there whether they are ingested by the dragons, or being expelled by a dead dragon; never is an element dormant. It is suggested that once an elder dragon eats enough of a certain magic, those professions have a harder time casting spells, but it is never completely gone.

On the other hand, the biggest reason I think Zhaitan is alive, is that if the orbs do represent the Elder Dragons, and if them lighting up show them awakening, shouldn’t they unlight if the dragon is killed? But, Zhaitan’s was lit, and still floating about as if he hasn’t been killed.

Also, I don’t like the energy being transferred to other dragons, even though it makes sense. I mean, in essence that means the fight with the elder dragons will never be over, until we just hang back, and let it eat enough magic to be full, and go back to sleep.

I feel like she was supposed to be the Agent Coulson to our Avengers. I looked at Belinda and was like “huh, her leg rag dolling looks uncomfortable”

I will not lie….seeing people hanging from thorn vines….and still being constantly choked even after…makes Morde seem 100x worse than the Dragon of Death, as if Morde is killing people and continuing to do so because he likes it.

it has to be jennah….

1) Mesmer – tons o magic to eat
2) Bloodstone her throne sits on – more magic to eat, five course meal actually
3) It would force Livia into the limelight to protect the Queen’s bloodline
4) It would reveal E. (possibly Livia or Heir)
5) Anet wouldn’t have to kill the salad and can torture us with Trahearne some more

I dont think the orbs represented the dragons directly. I think the orbs represent the different kinds of magic in the universe. Each dragon just happens to use only one.

If Livia is still alive in GW2 time, then she truly found a way to cheat death, even better than the Lich from Prophesies. Whatever happened to her and the staff of Orr, it’s probably hidden somewhere, or will be discovered a little later.

Livia is alive and well, supposdely she learned how to give herself immortality through studying Orr magic and possibly through the scepter of Orr itself!

So if you read the story journal, it tells you each orb is represented by a dragon, with the pale tree or tyria represented in the middle.

Morde – Green
Kralk – Purple
Zhaitain – Gray

at first i believe they lit up in order of rising, since red lit up first, but it’s completely out of sync with what the wiki shows

obviously it showed the Green orb flying at the pale tree/tyria meaning that Morde is the current dragon on attack

why is Zhaitan’s orb still out there floating around if he has already attacked and been defeated…..or is it signifying that he has yet to pursue a full on attack of the pale tree?
