Why does the whole event have to be you getting some kind of rare item?
Theres the horns, theres the witches hat, theres the first and second books and there was tons and tons of fun to be had, but I suppose you missed out on that because you didnt have the crossing on your character right?

Come on man.. They added those items as EXTRAS, something people get lucky with or something people work towards. Not everything has to be a handout.

This event went WAY beyond what I was expecting and what Im used to with other events, and I think a lot of people agree with me. Maybe this isnt the game for you if you cant enjoy free extra content added into an already amazing game.

Meh, Im not worried about that as much as I am about the favoritism for “more popular” weapons in regards to skins.

But what about a “scholar” class that wants to wear medium or heavy? Doesnt the term battle mage work both ways?
Dont get me wrong, Im all for your idea, the light hood looks cooler then my medium hood, but if youre going to implement something, you have to be fair.

Meh, just buy the skin from the TP, its just the seer/duelist/pit fighter set.

I don’t currently use a staff or a greatsword. I’m currently gearing out my thief. But then I’ll be moving along to warrior and elementalist or necro. Things I’ll actually use the skin on. You have 5 character slots, this is a ridiculous argument. There will be other skins, and ones that you like. I want to make sure that this isn’t a repeat in the future.

Honestly, I see your point, but at the same time Im not really interested in playing other characters besides my thief until 80, its just not for me. I’m slightly disgruntled at the obvious weapon preferences Anet shows. Its kind of depressing that Im done all my armor but now I have to wait until a skin I like comes out for daggers when I can name tons of greatsword skins I like. Ah well. Thats off topic I guess.

So what about people like me who dont use greatswords, staffs or shields? Do I get my own thread because I dislike the dagger skin? Am I entitled to a better skin because all the other ones look cool?

No, and I wouldnt expect it either.
Just buy them off the TP if you dont want to deal wth RNG, its that simple.
Also, I see a lot of people blaming RNG, has anyone seen how cheap the skins people dont want are? Im assuming the weapons dropped at the same ratio so your RNG argument is false, enough are dropping, but everyone wants them so they rise in price.

It has been suggested many times on the forums and is met with mixed opinions.

In my opinion Id rather them work on one set and make them all good (my poor D/D thief is sad at the lack of good dagger skins) rather than release two different versions. I like to think that Anet wouldnt be halfkittened about it and just change the colors, just doesnt sound like something they would do.

Its only work if you make it feel like work bro. I play a dagger thief. Guess what? You can work your way up to the skins. However. I cant get the crossing or the greatsaw skin. I get a crappy walmart skin for my daggers. Am I sitting on the forums complaining that only Greatswords get good skins? No.

Im not sure about Gendarran but in Queensdale eventually after running through a bunch of quests the gates the the mad kings realm opened.

I believe you have to play a full round of both, although there could be other expectations you have to meet. I would try doing that and if not it must be a bug

Im assuming you mean the mad king equipment? Honestly, Id rather sell them off to the TP or even and npc if I was unable to do so then keep them, but i suppose it appeals to people who are aiming for the duelist/seer/pit fighter look.

Oh yes I did read his post and of course, I agree that he hasn’t indicated he wants help. But clearly he needs some tips if he’s at his wit’s end with this puzzle. Although his post isn’t constructive in the least, that doesn’t mean you have to be the same. You make no difference to anything by going off at him, as I said before, it’s best to just ignore them or offer something that can turn the situation around. There really is nothing that you achieve by insulting them, it just makes the community look bad. If you scroll up you can see others talking about how silly both sides of the argument looks. You lose nothing and hopefully someone gains some insight on how to do the puzzle and may ( or may not) attempt it again.

Alright, Ill be reasonable and admit that I was being less then helpful. I have been posting helpful advice in all the other threads I can though, I even helped one guy finish his puzzle! You make some very good points and Im glad theres other helpful people on these forums

1. I believe so since the way in is through the doors.
2. Thats up to the dev’s to decide, I would like this to be a yearly thing, or maybe a different one just to mix it up.
3. Pumpkin carving doesnt count towards the achievement, youre on track with 3/5 done.
4. It is one for the labyrinth, one each for the 2 pvp type mini games, and i assume that attend the party is the last one.
5. Not a clue if its tomorrow or not.

If you really want to ‘share your opinion’ maybe you should start with the actual jumping puzzle instead of the player who you don’t even know. The best you can do on a thread like this is give helpful tips on how to improve and get the puzzle sorted. Flaming them isn’t going to achieve anything.

Did you read his post? Nothing he wrote indicated that he wanted help with this puzzle. He completely wrote it off and neither offered anything that could fix the puzzle nor did he take any consideration that it might be his own for lack of a better term “skill” to beat the puzzle.

Anything that doesn’t hold the game up on a shining pedestal generally gets him riled up. Actually, Im a human female with the smallest height setting. And no, I did it with 1 charr and 2 norns that looked like they were on the max height level. I was also grouped with 2 asura, one of which got farther then me every single time until we both ended up finishing it. Nice try though.

To the OP: You are far from alone as the MANY threads can attest. Yes, there will be those individuals who will tell you in very many ways “learn to play” or “you just need to get skillz” or how easy it was for them etc but they do that because, even with having that accomplishment, they are empty. The accomplishment in and of itself is valueless to them. It only has value in that they can lord it over others in order to bring others low in an effort to make themselves feel like “more”. And really, a little perspective goes a long way…this “accomplishment” is a line of pixels saying you jumped a bunch of pixels with a cartoon character and pair of pixelated slippers which will mean less than nothing a few weeks from now and exactly nothing once you leave the game and move on to something else.

The REAL point of a game…is the “fun” it gives you. For some people the fun is in doing hard puzzles like that and that’s perfectly okay. If you find, after a certain length of time, you are NOT having “fun” then the point of “gaming” or playing that specific portion of “the game” is gone. Time to move on to what IS actually bring you enjoyment within the game…or in another game, if/when it comes to that. It’s all about the fun. If it becomes “work”, feels like “work”, has the stress of an agenda like a "
job" does…pfffft, screw it and move on to what equates itself as playtime.

Theres the problem right there. The price of exotics plummeted and way too many people took advantage of it.

But most people didnt do this for the exotic reward, people did it for the achievement of saying “Yes, I worked my kitten off and was able to do it”. For myself, it got to the point where I didnt need to see where my character was, all I looked at was where I was jumping next. I didnt do it for the boots that I ended up NPC’ing anyways, I did it because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.

But it is taking away from the prestige if youre offering a much more easier jumping puzzle. This is a huge debatable topic and it is much more complicated then just adding in a normal mode. Its called an achievement for a reason, because you have to work to achieve it. If you cant, then theres nothing lost. Also, the skin Isnt unique, Its the 70ish exotic skin, buyable from the TP for a small sum.

1. I invested 10g into candy corn and bought the avian pouldrons
2. Maybe not, I underestimated the sheer amounts people are getting, We’ll see after the event
3. I didnt go into the event hoping for an item, I got the avian pouldrons and the completed backpack and I really love both of them
4. I loved the whole event as a whole, But if I have to pick one part it would be the clocktower
5. Not at all, I feel that too many people were banking on making money through opening chests and it resulted in a lot of complaining.
6. This game has been a delightful experience, after quitting PW I am so happy with the content and the refreshing lack of P2W elements that are present in other games.

Welcome to every MMO, this stuff happens at launch. Im not going to sit here and discuss strategies on combating every single bug in the game with you. The whole point of this thread was OP saying that if people make money off an exploit, he should be able to too. I disagree.
