And I bet you wouldn’t be saying that if you were the pioneer trying it and seeing what happens. With something like this, Anet really should have said something about it. Their somewhat lack of communication about the forge recipes/RNGs each event keeps coming back to bite them. I doubt there would be as much backlash if people knew there was only a chance to get the Toymaker tonic.

As I said in another thread, it seems kind of obvious to me that the toymaker tonic would only drop in the gift boxes as a random chance. Why would they make an item like that that a lot of people want into a guaranteed recipe? Especially one thats so easy to complete.

Obviously it is working as intended. Why would they have two ways of getting the endless tonic, especially one that’s achieved so easily. It seems common sense that these would only drop from the actual gift boxes.

You obviously don’t spend time in WvWvW then ~ Gear is everything. Pre-Ascended, the PvP aspect of GW2 was more like Class x Skill x [Gear*] vs Class x Skill x [Gear*] and post-Ascended it will be Class x Skill x Ascended x [Gear]

*Pre-ascended most players who regularly play in WvW will be fully equipped in exotics/best sigils/runes. Now with Ascended gear, if you want to remain competitive, you’ll have to stay on the same gear level as your opponents otherwise, you risk being totally steamrolled.

I can get a gold an hour easily just doing events, People who farm can get up to 3g an hour if they try. T3 cultural is the only armor skin people actually have to work for and I enjoyed working towards mine.

I want to wait and see.. but I’m also a little concerned… I have to farm the gear I like the looks of.. THEN farm a new set of ascended armor to transmute the two together… This would be cool if you could turn exotics into ascended via a quest.. but if not, and I have to grind both, I’m not really in favor of this change. I liked that the exotics I got from the dungeons were the best I could get so I could focus on looks and not the best stats…. I’m still not done getting all my exotic sets either.. I wanted a couple of different sets for different builds :-/

Most of my friends who began the game with me in BWE1 have already left. Most “well brained” people do not enjoy tedium. I am only still around because my last spark of hope for Guild Wars has not yet been completely snuffed out by their idiotic decisions.

I don’t wanna sound mean but your friend can buy cheap exotics that only has few less stats than Ascended gears. And for those that have extra time they can spend on other things to get better gears. I don’t see any problem with that and everyone know this from beginning when the game started:
=> Exotics > Green > Blue > White
now Legendaries + Ascended > Exotic > Green > Blue > White; suddenly people start QQ!

I bought my armor for like 5 gold, you can farm that in a few hours at most. Exotics are extremely cheap like everything else in the game except legendaries.

I dont know about your server but we have a group of well known commanders and its easy to tell who just bought their title and who actually earned the right to wear it.

It doesnt have a rune slot, it has dungeon specific “infusions” that only work in the dungeon.

The stat increase is minimal in my opinion, the extra precision translates to about 2% critical hit rate with a full set including jewelry, and about 40 extra power and added MF, which I find useless anyways. Im assuming there will be different builds but Id imagine they would all follow this same scheme.

Crafting is mostly used for quick exp tbh.

If dont see why people would want something with a tiny stat increase and the inability to add runes to it.

1 amulet 2 rings and 2 earings and a backpiece thats in total +%18 more Crit Dmg then wearin all exotics, and thats only the jewelery.

Atm Max you can get from Jewelery is %33 crit dmg, so basicly you are increasing your crit dmg about %64
