I am very much a “duelist.” I love that game mode in every game that I have played which has incorporated it. But, i understand and agree with the complaints of those who are against it, and thus I am an advocate of the proposition that there be specific areas for dueling and you cannot dual outside of them. They could even isolate them from zone chat so the non-duelers don’t get the kind of chat spam that many obnoxious duelers have a tendency to post.

Race has almost nothing to do with anything aside from the personal story and racial elite skills that are not even worth anything to most. Pick a race based on what your prefer, it has nothing to do with DPS.

Like I said, I seriously doubt pure open world dueling will ever happen. It certainly seems it won’t happen with HoT or they would have announced it. That is a good thing.

Look at it this way, if you are saving gold in your guild bank to keep yourself from making a spur of the moment or accidental purchase because you can’t control your spending, then the withdrawal limit is even doing you a bigger favor. It will make you think about it for a week or so.

Most of us who are against dueling are bloody fine with that idea. We dont have to see it. Duelers can duel. We dont have to see the invites or have to deal with harassment. Duelers can still duel. Do that idea and most of us dont care.

As Dante said, in almost every duel thread ever people against dueling have offered a compromise to where dueling could take place in selected areas of PvE maps. Despite what most pro-dueling folks think, we don’t want to “watch your epic duels” while we are trying to do things at the TP, bank, crafting stations etc. In other words we don’t want want dueling on top of us while we are doing non-dueling activities. The pro-dueling crowd has often and continues to refuse to acknowledge that comprise.

Additionally, people that are against dueling don’t want to see /map littered with things like, “I just pwned player A what a total loser he is and now he won’t duel me again” and, “Player A won’t turn on dueling what a noob chicken.” Yes, there is a block function but why add more fuel to the fire when it comes to the potential for caustic chat?

Also, what about level scaling? How many L80 people are going to hang out in Queensdale targeting new players for a duel? How will you know if there is an even match? One way would be to show the true level of the player requesting the duel I guess. But still I can see players hanging out in starter zones trying to pick fights with new players that have turned dueling on just to test it, or don’t know about it. I’ve seen this in other games where ‘elite’ players hang out in new player zones looking for a ‘fight’ because they think it is funny to stomp the new guy.

As for the link to the video from over two years ago that keeps being brought up stating Anet want’s to add dueling. That was a long time ago. Since then there have been countless threads on this topic with the majority of people stating no to pure open world PvE duels. So maybe by now Anet has seen all those threads and given it second thought. Especially since it isn’t going to be included in HoT.

My suggestion to the pro-dueling crowd, be willing to compromise. Suggest dueling arena areas in PvE where you all can go play measuring contest and the few people interested in watching can observe.

Until then you know what they say, you can wish and one hand and you know what in the other and see which one gets filled up first.

You can’t login and play until finishing the download unless you have set up the new beta streaming client.

To try out content streaming, add -StreamingClient to the end of the target line on your Guild Wars 2 shortcut. When you next launch and patch the game, there will be a marker on the progress bar that shows you how much you’ll need to download before the game will be playable. Once the progress bar reaches that marker, you’ll be able to jump right in and start playing.

Well I’m not sure what you were expecting when downloading a game of this complexity. Were you expecting to be able to download within an hour? You can either be patient and wait for the download to finish or give up. Anyway, best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Why are you losing hope in the game? It isn’t the game’s fault that it is 20GB. Even the minimum game requirements state you need at least 25 GB available HDD space. It is a very complex game. Like I said, let it run overnight or whatever. It will be there waiting for you.

Just let the download do it’s thing when you can. You will probably be pleasantly surprised. I think when I first downloaded the game it seemed like it was in the low percent for a while. Then I went out for several hours and when I got home it was almost finished.

Like I said it doesn’t really start over. It just looks that way. The percentage just shows 0. The files remaining are where you left off.

Most large scale games are going to be in the double digit GBs to download. Just let it run over night or when you don’t need your comp for other things that the download might be slowing down.

It should be about 20 GB. How long it will take to download depends on your Internet download speed. Keep in the download tracker percentage is number of files left to download not the size left to download. Some files are larger than others and progress may seem to speed up as you continue to download at times. Also if you stop the download and restart it will show back to zero percent, but don’t fret it didn’t really start over as you will see the files remaining don’t reset. So if need be you can stop the download and continue at your convenience without losing progress.

Reports of verbal abuse are reviewed by staff. If the person reported was found in violation of ToS they will get suspended. You did all you needed to do by reporting and blocking.

Back in the old, old days of programming (anyone remember punch cards?) it was a simple matter to temporarily edit out a line of code by declaring it a “REMark”. That way you keep the code and can restore it at any time by removing the “REMark”, without having to reprogram from scratch.

That’s right you don’t know and games these days are much more complex than the programing in the punchcard days. As I recall the female animation change came bundled with other major updates. I’m not familiar with the code that runs GW2 myself but I’m willing to guess it is not as easy as say checking a box like players do to change their settings in game.

Anyway, once again Gaile said it will be fixed when it is a high enough priority. Apparently it doesn’t affect enough players to place it at the top of the list at this time.

The Mithril Box and Legacy Armor is a feature of the Heroic Edition, not the Deluxe.

They are items granted to both the Heroic edition and the current Deluxe version. This may be why the OP is wondering about those items. As you stated though it appears the OP has the old Deluxe version before those items were awarded. The second picture is what was included in the old Deluxe version.

If you bought the DD version some time ago prior to changes they made to what was included you won’t have the Legacy Armor or the Mithril Box. They were added to the DD version later on. Since you have Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill then it appears you have the DD version. Also to check if you create a new character and get a 2 week golem banker you have the DD version.

The Mithril Box and Legacy armor are awarded one time that are only available with the Heroic edition or current DD edition. They are not awarded with each new character and can’t be spawned endlessly.

I’m not sure what might have happened to your Miniature Rytlock . It should either be in your bank’s mini tab or in your wardrobe under minis if you added it to it.

The only way you might be able to retrieve your key is to contact support. Follow the support link at the the top of the page and then the submit a request link located at the top right of that page.

If you are ever hacked the key is not necessarily required for account recovery but it certainly would help.

Unfortunately people still fall for it no matter how poorly worded the phising is. There are posts here often from people asking if it is real. There are posts every so often from people that said they panicked and followed the link and gave them their info. They prey on people that give in to emotion from fear of losing their account. As it turns out the people that fear such things end up getting hacked and have to go through support for an account roll back.

As EAP said above, it is Anet’s game, their rules to interpret as they see fit and not a loophole. It isn’t about walking on eggshells, it is more about adhering to social norms. If you wouldn’t walk into a crowded shopping center in real life and say it loud enough for everyone there to hear it you probably should not say it in /map or /say.

It really is that simple and has nothing to do with trying to suppress people’s right to express themselves. It’s about having an overall sense of respect for a community that you are part of. The GW2 community happens to be made up of players from many different ideologies and belief systems. If you can act as a mature person and respect that you won’t have any problems. If you act like, “buhhh this is teh Internets! I can say whtevz i wants ,” you might run into problems.

The data shows that only 0.175% will be affected. Most people in this thread have probably and will most likely never come close to hitting the cap as suggested by the data. Concocted problems that will most likely never occur are just that, imagined. I could imagine I might some day get killed by a shark when I go surfing. However, statistically this threat will never affect me. So should I complain about sharks and ask that they all be killed? People are complaining for the sake of it. I’m not sure what you are on about with your “false” bans for gold selling. That has nothing at all to do with this or the data they collected on gold transfers.

Uh. Just because a person complaining rarely hits the 500g cap doesnt mean he has no right about complaining about it. Even if it just hits him once per year he got negatively affected by it and has all right to complain about it.
You are basically taking peoples freedom away to do with their gold whatever they want (as long as they dont break the ToS) by limitting their weekly transfers.

I did withdraw substantial amounts from one of my guild banks to place buy orders on TP items.

Then if someone mailed you a dye you should have no problem withdrawing that dye. Can you post a screen shot of the mail with the dye you can’t withdraw? Maybe it is a bug as suggested by someone earlier.

So it would appear that the limit from the guild bank AND mail is tied together. Initially it sounded like they were separate. But going back and reading the OP, it seems that it’s a 500g limit regardless of the source.

And it seems it affects the ability to withdraw items from mail that are not gold as Draco stated he can’t even withdraw the dye someone mailed him. That might be a bug worth reporting.

I don’t think I understand what you are saying. Items sent in the mail are not affected by the gold limit. So you should have still been able to get the dye someone mailed you.

It makes more sense to release the fixes as soon as they can and during the work week in the event something doesn’t work as expected.

If fractals were truly infinite, it might have stood a chance. Since they’re not however, the top spot would have probably been tied between hundreds of people, making it rather pointless.

I was only commenting on the fact they never added it when they said they would. Like I said, I wonder if it had anything to do with lost ties between Anet and the contractor responsible for the forum as well. In other words, I wonder if the same contractor created the leaderboard page. It was just a thought. I couldn’t care less about leaderboards myself.

I wonder if the leaderboards were done by the same, now defunct, forum contractor and that is why there have been no upgrades to it including the lack of the fractal leaderboard.

No one is trying to shut people up. Yes my post title might indicate that. However starting countless threads on the same topic is annoying. It floods the forum with the same ideas just over many threads. If anything I blame the mods for not merging all of this mess.
