Personally I hope they don’t bring it back if there are tons of players that like to harass people wanting in. I’d rather not have them in there. That makes sense to me.
I consistently get harrassed outside the terrace, even inside, from players wondering how to get in.
How do people outside the terrace even know you are in there? I’ve had the scroll since day one it came out. I’ve been in and out probably 1,000s of times and have not once had anyone harass me about it or even ask me about it.
Maybe those that feel they are being hit by DR faster than what ANet claims can get together with John Smith. They can ask him to look into the days they are saying it happened and have him see if DR kicked in at 20 or 30 minutes instead of the hours ANet says it does.

I do them to cause people like the OP to ask such questions. It seems the OP thinks their opinion of what is or isn’t fun and what is or isn’t rewarding applies to everyone.
Finding something rewarding is also very subjective. IMO when playing a video game, fun should be the primary reward. If I am not having fun doing what I’m doing then the other rewards attached to that activity don’t mean much to me.
We’ve been asked about whether you must be a newsletter subscriber to get access to the beta test. Signing up for the newsletter is not required to be given access to the beta test. However, to get beta schedules, instructions on how to access the test, or any other beta-related information, you will need to sign up for the newsletter.
Anyone who finds a Portal to Maguuma’s Heart will have access. A certain number of testers will be selected from the newsletter subscriber list. So as you can see, being a newsletter subscriber has a dual benefit: You increase your chances of getting into the beta test, and you receive direct communication about the test and its schedule.

I have noticed that, from a few hours to a week, LOL, but thanks for telling me that, LOL. Just to be clear, on my first ban i got a few hours, on my 2nd i got 1 week.
So what’s your question? Why did it go from a few hours to a week? Because that is the way Anet decided to punish repeat offenders. I’ve never heard of a few hour suspension that must be somewhat new. It is usually 72 hours (3 days) for a first offense.
If you disagree with the length your suspension you can always submit a support ticket.
Anyway, hopefully you have learned your lesson so as to avoid even longer suspensions in the future.

The reward track was just a thought. But the idea of the arena being a designated dueling zone would be nice though.
I agree and I appreciate the fact that you seem to understand that many PvE players don’t want anything to do with dueling, don’t want to see it, don’t want to hear about it and would rather it be kept in it’s own area if included. Many pro-duelers won’t acknowledge that. Like I said, if contained to an area that I never have to get near I’m all for it. Let people bash their brains out, talk trash, insult each other and what not in an area that doesn’t concern me. I’m all for it.
I have no problem with allowing people to duel in selected areas as you suggested. However I disagree with a reward track tied to it or any rewards at all. From what I have seen from the pro-dueling crowd the ability to duel is the reward in itself.
Selling home instance runs
Those home instance sellers are growing to be a pest these days. Yesterday I counted more than 20 of them while minding my regular LFG business. Most of the time there were several such offers displayed at once, making the list longer and the browsing harder.

What about selling access to ones home instance for gathering resources? Namely I just spotted this new type of selling in lfg just about an hour ago : " Sell access crafting nodes (17) for 20 silver…..->" . Does it belong to the dungeon sort of selling section or is it abusing the lfg due to selling access to “items”?
Advertising an access portal is not allowed.

Again, Anet I suggest you do the right thing and upgrade everyone that still has a version with the discontinued SKUs. It doesn’t affect me because I already paid cash for those skins, don’t have a use for the mithril box and couldn’t care less about experience boosters. I just think it is the right thing to do.
Giving heroic chests via in-game mail to players who participated in the previous HoT stress test is a bit of a slap in the face to those who were eager to get in but did not receive access. It’s a bit like paying people for having their names drawn from a hat.
Hopefully this doesn’t become a trend.
It’s not a slap in the face at all, they’re being rewarded for their participation which is fine. Wanting to participate isn’t the same as actually participating.
Except some people that were selected and didn’t participate still got the rewards. So it certainly isn’t a reward for participation.

In my opinion this was a bug that got explained away by talking about discontinued SKUs. The fact that it was all over the forum all day with no explanation until the end of the day where it was posted in a news post that can’t be responded to is suspect. The fact that there was no red post in the threads discussing this where it was open to questions is suspect. Like I said before, they should upgrade everyone that wasn’t in beta that have the old SKU just to be fair.
By blatantly locking all potentially critical threads and posts, all it does it end up looking bad on ANet as a company, implying they simply don’t want to hear what they could be doing better and that their customer’s opinions do not matter.

From what I have seen most of the threads that get locked either went way off topic, turned into conspiracy theories, or turned into an insulting match between people participating.
Not at all just quoting statements from the forum specialist as related to QoL suggestions since is part of the thread topic. I think it is important for forum members to know such things especially when it involves Anet’s stance on QoL suggestions as reported by the specialist.
The forum specialist is in a middle ground where they represent both Anet and the players. They are now the main line of communication between the forum posters and Anet. It doesn’t hurt anyone to know where said specialist stands. In fact I’d argue it is good to know what our representative is thinking.
The reason for my first post, is simply because they have a plan for what is going to be in HoT, and I’ve been specifically told by a producer, " what would you rather have, a lot of QoL changes, or some amazing things in HoT" this was paraphrased of course..

That is the trade off with outfits. You get a set you can use endlessly without the use of transmutation charges but you lose out on customization. If you want customization then armor sets are the way to go with the trade off that you need transmutation charges to continue use of the skin past first use. Yes! As long as you sign up for the newsletter before the next beta event starts, you’ll receive your e-mail invitation to participate. Make sure you sign up using the same e-mail address that you use for your game account.
I don’t think you have to worry about doing anything with the college address you used the first time as there is no way to tie it to your account.
Well when you bought the game and first logged in did you get any rewards mailed to you in game? If not you probably have the base game which is apparently assigned an SKU that is no longer used.

SKU stands for stock keeping unit. It is a unit that allows companies to track sales and and other information related to the product. There is not a SKU edition per se. There are different SKUs assigned to different versions of the game. Apparently people that got the rewards had an edition of the game assigned an SKU that is no longer used.
It isn’t a reward for Beta, what has happened is that collectors edition accounts got flagged as ‘beta accounts’ by Arenanets system, and when it came time to turn off their Beta access, they discovered the previous version of their account type was no longer something Anet could flag kitten they became heroic edition owners instead.

I still think the result was an unexpected bug no matter how Anet decided to spin it. I mean it took them an entire day to respond also there are things not addressed in their post such as some people receiving multiple chests and some people also got Tomes of Influence which isn’t included in the Heroic edition. I’ll put on my tinfoil hat I guess because it reads as a big “oops” to me but, “Hey how can we spin it to make things right?”

I prefer armor sets over outfits and I vote with my wallet by not ever buying an outfit and I never will. Conversely, I’ve purchased almost every armor set in the gem store, some of them multiple times before the wardrobe system.
The deluxe costs 20 euro more and come with more “features”,she originally upgraded from heroic to deluxe via gem store as far as I understand.Now she has the option to “upgrade” to deluxe in gem store again so yea she was downgraded,she has spent 2000 gems to upgrade from Heroic to Deluxe back at launch.
Just curious since you said your friend got downgraded from DD to Heroic, if she creates a new character does she get the 2 week banker? Also there was no Heroic edition at launch but I’m guessing you meant the base version.
Maybe ANet should allow everyone one free Heroic chest off the gem store. I didn’t get anything I particularly wanted as I had already bought 2 armors before, but it is a several hundred gems worth of items.
I paid 800 gems for all 3 armor sets before the base game became Heroic and when they were 800 gems a piece. I’m not too worried about it because I have used them for almost 2 years or so. But I agree if it is an SKU issue as described in the news post they should upgrade everyone that wasn’t part of the RNG newsletter stress test and had the base edition before it became the heroic edition. If it was an SKU issue as they described it only makes sense to upgrade everyone now before further beta tests that might cause the same issue. Wow! What a majorkittento the rest of the player base. Not only did we not get a chance to participate in the Beta (because it was random for signing up for a buggy newsletter), those that did also get extra rewards.
Yep, not very happy about this. It’s like RNG for people that go lucky to take part in the stress test and also receive 100’s of gems worth of stuff. People that didn’t even take part in the test but got their RNG invite still got the rewards. Heck some people got multiple chests and Tomes of Influence. So they got at least 500 gems worth of skins (the price of one legacy armor skin) and in some cases also got tomes that are part of the DD version. What a mess.

You can change the email address associated with your account by submitting a support request. Once again, before doing so I strongly suggest you make sure your computer is secure since it seems you might have some vulnerabilities. If you are not sure that you can secure the email address attached to your account you can create a new email address from a different provider and contact support that way. Then again if your computer isn’t secure that might pose a problem, but not likely unless a hacker is following your every move which I doubt.
You won’t be able to change your display name as mentioned by myself and others it does not disclose any personal information about you and is not tied to any account security. Also it is unlikely you made the account 4 years ago since GW2 isn’t that old.
Well, I really hoped that a websearch of trp will provide negatives. I forgot to mention that there was a login attempt from region 81, Bangladesh. Not sure if this was done by proxy or something but someone out there knows my password and login. Naturally I’ve changed my password. If someone unauthorized attempted to login to your account you should do the following:
Scan your computer for virus/malware/key loggers
Change the password for the email address attached to your account after you are sure your computer is clean.
Contact support and tell them your account might have been compromised,
Display names will only be changed if they meet the following two requirements:
A display name will be changed to prevent the disclosure of personal information. For instance, the display name is the player’s real name or even email address.
An offensive name will be changed
I did a thorough web search of “trp” and could not find anything close to what would disclose your personal identity. I saw nothing that would link “trp” to your bank accounts or social media. In fact it as just pages and pages of stuff not even related to much of anything of substance.
Your email attached to your account is not public and cannot be used to identify you. I’m sorry but you do not meet the requirements for a display name change.
If you are concerned about your logins to your other online accounts you should take measures to secure them. Change the email address attached to them if you feel your email was compromised, do virus and malware scans, and change passwords, etc. You should never use the same login names and passwords for important accounts to start with. If one account gets compromised the rest might be as well.
Don’t forget, some people that are part of the beta also got Heroic Chests. Thoroughly peeved now.
To be fair those were people that were in the stress test beta determined by email list RNG. Some people reported they were selected but didn’t participate. They did get 100’s of gem worth of rewards just for being lucky though.
That said some people got multiple chests and tomes of influence as well.
Pretty annoyed. If I knew they would be giving this out I would have tried harder for a beta invite. The hell? It’s like promotions isn’t talking to the dev team and vise versa. Pretty annoying to be honest.
I honestly don’t think they knew they were giving anything out based on the late announcement in the news forum and the seemingly inconsistent amount of rewards that were given to some people. I think it was discovered after the fact. Otherwise I think they would have announced it much earlier. Something like, “Hey thanks to all that participated in the beta stress test. Due to the way our SKUs work your accounts will be upgraded to the Heroic Edition and you will receive a mail with your rewards.”
Instead it was, surprise all day a bunch of people reported getting various rewards with various results and wanted answers so at the end of the day here is a post you can’t reply to or ask questions about.

This another reason why I don’t buy the explanation. Especially given it came so late in the day after so much talk about it all day. Someone messed up and the news post is damage control IMO. I’d also like to know how many people that had the heroic version also got these rewards since it seems they had to upgrade accounts to it.

I think it is pretty clear it is a bug of sorts. Here is what we know so far just from my scanning this thread and assuming all people posting were honest:
Many people that participated in the Beta stress test got Heroic Chests
Some people that did not participate in the stress test got Heroic Chests
Some people got multiple chests
Some people also got Tomes of Influence which is part of the DD version and not the Heroic chest.
Some people that were in the beta stress test got nothing.
Anet sent hundreds of gems worth of items to people for reasons unknown.
So, I’m going to have to go with this was a bug and a big one at that.
Well it’s almost 5:00 PM Anet office time and still no word on what’s going on. My guess it was a huge “Oops”. Now we will have to wait to see how they decide to explain it.
The weird thing is some people are reporting getting tomes of influence as well which isn’t included in the Heroic version heroic chest. I already paid gems to buy all those armor sets but I certainly would have liked to get an influence tome. I received nothing on both my accounts. LOL
I just looked at the Amazon page. It looks like the “paper back” option is for used books from resellers and the “Mass Market” is for a new, unused book direct from Amazon. If you have Amazon Prime you get free 2 day shipping with the Mass Market purchase.
