Yea! Thank you!
3: Game freezes and must be force quit.
——— My wife is getting this problem, usually occurs when running dungeons. Though she can sometimes over an hour with no problem.
I experienced this twice today during an AC run on my mid 2012 iMac. The screen just froze and I had to tab out and force shutdown. Fortunately, my party waited for me. I guess I was just that valuable.
However I did two AC runs last night and it didn’t happen.
I love the people commenting “1500 hours for 60 dollars” without stopping to think for even one second. There’s a gem store. Looking at ncsoft’s financial report tells us that Guild Wars 2 made a lot of dough through the shop. A lot. The OP could be one of those who purchased gems using cold hard cash instead of converting gold.
What should we tell to those who spent 300 dollars in the gem store? No, that’s not uncommon. 500 dollars? More than 1000? Are they allowed to complain about the longevity of the game? Or was their investment still a great bang for the buck?
Instead of jumping to conclusions and riding the “it’s only 60 dollars” train, how about you reflect on the issues that were brought up? Is WvW getting stale? Did the living story feel like a success to you? Is it fine that we are expected to wait long months for small fixes and balance patches?
I’ve spent over $900 in the gem store all on optional stuff. I don’t feel ripped off because those items, had I not bought them, still would have allowed me to play hours and hours for the box price. Most people don’t spend that much but play for 1000 hours plus. The entertainment value in the box price is there. If someone like me spends more on gems then that really doesn’t factor in since I could have played say 1000 hours without spending a dime and the affect would have been minimal.
For me, it is specifically this cookie:
forum-en.guildwars2.com fangamer_core3Delete this cookie and Firefox will work. Whomever is creating or issuing this cookie, please fix it!!!
That’s not the cookie that give me issues. Mine is just the regular forum cookie. Nothing behind it.
Ok, but THAT is the cookie the gave me the issue. I cleared them one at a time and closed and reopened the browser to test them. Deleting that one fixes it for me.
Same cookie I clear to fix the problem. The problem seems to show up about the same time of the day I usually have to relog into the forums so I think that is where the problem is.
Like I said in my previous post: Anet treats Mac users like second-class citizens.
Well it is getting better. I started playing in April and we spent the better part of 4 months or so just talking to ourselves with almost no red posts. I am seeing a difference in the trend here the last few months with increased attention to the Mac client from Anet. I hope it keeps up and continues to improve.
Well it’s in the 18th patch notes so one would assume that she would be some where in the game
“Trading
Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards. Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.”So maybe she hasn’t appeared yet or no one has found her yet
I took the patch notes as saying she will appear at a future date. My guess is you will notice a patch download before she appears. If she was already in game I would think dulfy.net would have found it by now and would be on the website.
In all fairness, the Mac forums recently have been getting more attention for Anet than I can recall since I started playing. In the past this place was more or less players talking to players with no “red” posts for months. I have probably been the most critical person in this forum regarding the way the client is being handled. It is refreshing to see attention from Anet over the last few months when there have been problems. Let’s hope this trend continues and support for the client continues to improve.
I’ve been a bit snippy in the past (to say the least) about the way some things are handled by Anet. However, I had an issue with an event item I messed up and thought I had lost forever. I contacted support and less than 24 hours later I got the item replaced. Support was quick, friendly and accurate. I like to give credit where credit is due so thank you for the great support.
Thanks GM Shaolin ShadowBoxing, you made my day by fixing this for me.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Imagine the uproar:
— SNIPI —
Wait I deleted all my Heirlooms/Found Belongings because you stated in the forums they were worthless after Mar 18. Give me those back.
This is another good point. Now you have people that undoubtedly deleted their left over Heirlooms/Found Belongings because an official message from Anet said the vendors are no longer available. If they bring the vendors back now those people probably won’t be very happy. So how do you please those people now? Have customer support start spending who knows how much time researching and recovering those items for people that deleted them? At some point you just have to draw a line and say, “Sorry you missed out”, and they have done that already. They would just create a new problem by bringing the vendors back by having yet another group of people unhappy because they deleted the items per Anets message regarding them.
There isn’t much point to posting in most threads. At the end of the day most threads are just people trying to tell other people they are wrong. It turns into a bunch of who can get the last word type stuff. Hot topics get brought up and they go for pages and pages of basically people saying, “You are wrong because..” and “No you are wrong because..” Then they die off after time and all efforts in the threads are just an example to wasted time. Welcome to Internet forums.
Factor the game price by hours played and figure out what you paid per hour of game play. Now think about how many other forms of commercial entertainment you can get for the same price per hour. Okay, once you have done that you came up with, “Not many.” There you go.

Look ^^^ I use over used Internet forum terms. LOL ^^^
OR….its a factual term for what you did with your argument: http://www.asa3.org/ASA/education/think/strawman.htm
Rather than answer my question in what way it would hurt you…you used a “straw man argument” drastically ramping up the importance of your position to a ridiculous degree.
Nice link but you are wrong and misusing it. What’s next are you going to accuse me of logical fallacies? Maybe post a meme or something. LOL
The post you quoted wasn’t even answer to a question to start with.
do you want another link? http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-a-straw-man-argument.htm
That’s cute and doesn’t do anything to solidify your argument. But I imagine this is one of those, “I’ll get the last word kitten it!” arguments. Have fun with that.
The vendors won’t be back. Call it strawman all you want. The post of mine you quoted as “strawman” wasn’t even in response to anything you asked. I cashed in all my event items before the update and kept my blade shards. I win. LOL

Vendors won’t be back. Sorry for your luck.
And there would be nothing fair about adding the vendors back aside from reinforcing the idea that it is okay to not pay attention to the game you are playing. What’s next? Asking for fireworks back in LA to get the Dragon Bash helms that dropped during a limited time? Wait we saw that too and it didn’t happen. “but..but…but.. I didn’t know.” Sorry, maybe next time you will pay attention and look into things that might affect your game.

Okay here again is how I found myself not in the problem the OP and others have had.
“Hey a living story event. I’m getting drops unique to that story. I know the living story is every 2 weeks or so. Maybe I should keep an eye out to see what those living story items may or may not do before the event ends.”
It is GW2 living story player 101 to look into such things before the story ends.
This is precisely why…even though I have limited time these days…I constantly made an effort to check the “living story” forums…the ones that deal with the living story…because I figured if they were going to make an announcement about something in the “living story”, it would probably go in the “living story”…just like I typically go to "news and announements’ when the game is down, or say, if something else affecting the game as a whole happens….I don’t bother checking that for “living story” announcements….since other “living story” announcements were always made in the “living story” forums.
Living story, living story…I can’t say that enough
So how is it I didn’t fall victim to the same thing you did? Oh that’s right… It is because I made sure to read the news in the forums. I looked around to make sure the items I had would not turn to junk. Why? Because I care about my items and did the homework to make sure I wasn’t left with garbage and didn’t delete things without cause.

What about people that don’t read forums, for example my friend that plays ~4 hours every 2 months and got his belongings he farmed with me made worthless?
What do you expect Anet to do? Splat some thing on your screen on character login that says, “Read this before you can play?” I’m not sure if you are new to MMOs or not but it has been a long standing tradition that serious players keep up on game news and in every case that involves reading official news forums and so forth.

Look, you were given a window to spend heirlooms. It was advertised and promoted in the last week. Just because you were or were not thinking about what to spend them on does not matter. You didn’t spend them within that window, sorry you lose out.

I visit the forum almost every other day, and I also missed this announcement. I still don’t know where it was??? It definitely wasn’t obvious. So I am sitting on 8 stacks of found belongings with nothing to do with them.
Right here ‘News and Announcements’:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Update-Alliance-Supplies-Found-Items/
yup, that would explain it, rarely if ever read that part unless something is “down”..
That’s your problem and mistake.
Maybe they need to standardize on their communication?
Yeah, like maybe putting things in the forum called, ‘News and Announcements’. Wait they did that.
Find me where they told people to keep their blade shards in “news and announcements” oh wait, they didn’t….which was my point. Maybe you need to read my post before getting snarky.
They didn’t tell people what to keep. They told people what to cash in before the end of the event. If that was so hard to figure out sorry for your luck. That is the source of this entire thread, someone saying, “but..but..but… I didn’t know.”
I cashed in all my heirlooms and am sitting on 12 or so stacks of blade shards because I read the news. I know how living story events go and don’t destroy things until I know they are worthless. It took me like 2 months of getting used to the living story to learn that. If it takes you longer, sorry for your luck.

I would just like to state that the removal of things from the game should always be announced at least a week in advance on the GW2 launcher.
Personally, I check the forums all the time because I know how bad ArenaNet is with announcements, but you can’t fault new players for not knowing that yet.
Anyone familiar with the living story knows that it is a good idea to do a search about event items before the event ends. This isn’t something new. For those that don’t, consider it a learning experience. Yes it is kind of odd that part of play is looking at websites for more information but it has been like that for well as long as I have been playing GW2.
Event is about to end > Go to GW2 website/forum > see what happens to event items so I don’t end up with bank slots full of junk.

@justTrogdor I was waiting to buy leveling tomes with them. I did not buy them yet, because i wasn’t sure if i will spend real money to buy a character slot or not.
So what were you going to do with them if you decided not to spend them on tomes?
naturally buy some of the other stuff available, such as obsidian shards
So it took you until patch day to decide?
It took me until the patch day to get the money (i’m 15.) and yes. i decided to spend my money on gw2 instead of something else.
Well I guess timing was bad for you then and sorry for your luck. Since it took you until patch day to earn the money to get a character expansion it would not have mattered if you knew about not being able to cash in heirlooms in advance anyway would it? You’re 15, life isn’t fair at times. You will get used to it about the age of 35 or so, trust me.

Please read what i quoted
I read it and I’m sorry for your luck but if you don’t know at this point in the game to read up on things before the end of the living story event that is your problem. We are talking about a game where things change rapidly and events come and go. When you are holding onto a lot of event items then perhaps you should take a few minutes to look into what might happen to them before the end of the event. Part of keeping up with the living story is looking at news related to the story. This is nothing new.
Why are you holding onto event items so long anyway instead of spending them? What did you expect to happen?
Again, submit support requests. This forum does not get a lot of a attention from Anet, read almost none. The best you can do is submit tickets to draw attention to this problem.

Sorry for your luck but if you have been playing GW2 for even just a few months you should know to check in before the end of a living story event to see what happens to event items. The information was out there and it has been for a week or so.
They should not bring back the vendors because it will reinforce bad habits for those that don’t take a minute to follow the changes. What happens if they bring them back for a few days? Then they go away again and a new group of people show up asking to have them brought back again. If you don’t follow what is happening with the living story world then those items must not mean much to you anyway.
Unless you submit a support ticket you may not see much help in this forum based on my experience. I encourage everyone with this problem to submit support tickets to draw attention to this issue.
I have not seen the problem myself but didn’t do much since the patch aside from trading post stuff.

From my experience it is never a good idea to delete event items until you see a message from Anet as to the future or lack there of for the items. The found belongings we were told that there would be no use for them after the event. The blade shards we were not told what would occur. If you deleted them then consider it a lessoned learned.

There are a lot of games that allow you to get married and do even more after that. If virtual marriage is so important to you check out Second Life. You can even dress up in clothes made up of lion fur or wear a hat that looks like a penguin, or anything else you can imagine for your wedding. Enjoy.
Its…pretty clear in the name of the thread that its a scam mail.. -.-
With a question mark at the end of the title.
Please remove the link from your post.
Of course it is a phisinig email. That is why you need to edit your post and take the link out so some unsuspecting person doesn’t follow it.
Thanks, didn’t pay attention to that thread title because I guess I had cookies on my mind.
I tried a search a few days back after a moderator post on a thread admonishing people to do a search on the forum.
I’ve seen this as well and is is kind of frustrating to see Anet staff chastise people and tell them to use a feature that doesn’t work, at all.
Over the last few days the forum cookie seems to break the ability to view your forum. I use Google Chrome and the attached image is what I get about once a day or so. Clicking the link doesn’t fix the problem. I was able to fix it by clearing your forum-en.guildwars2.com cookie. The problem seems to keep repeating after some time so I thought I would bring it up.
For those using Chrome with this problem, if you don’t want to clear all cookies you can fix it by going to: settings > show advanced settings > privacy click “content settings” button > all cookies and site data > find forum-en.guildwars2.com > click “x” to delete it.

I know this is off topic a bit and may seem strange but in honor of daylight savings, which I hate, I’m going on a tech fast for a week. This means to me no Internet and no cable TV. I don’t have a landline so my cell phone will only be used for basic phone calls when needed. No texts or using my phone for anything other then calls. As I said, off topic. Anyway, see you all in a week. I bet you can’t wait.
With those types of attacks you have to choose when to use them wisely. Knowing they bounce it is a better idea to kite the intended target before using attacks that bounce between targets. If your plan of attack is to approach hostiles and launch Mirror Blade when that hostile is among some neutrals then you should try a different plan of attack.

I’d be happy with a wardrobe or even a PvE skin locker.
This, especially when it comes to gem store bought armors.
I saw a ranger with a boar as a pet named ‘Pigasso’. That made me laugh because Picasso is my favorite artist.
Welcome to GW2!
I should be finished with crafting Twilight in a week or so based on what I need. I’m looking forward to selling it to people that like ugly weapons. I won’t need to buy gems for some time once it sells.
I like your point of view but what happens when/if the tradeable items from the chests become so low in value that they become just commodities?
There are very few tradable items from chests and they are pretty rare. I think backpack sets, minis, and dyes if you get a dye pack.
Look at this list:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Black_Lion_Chest_
Most items from BLCs cannot be traded. The ones that can be are very rare to extremely rare. So I don’t see how key farmers could be a problem.
However, if you are so concerned about the issue as you seem to be by your posts, feel free to buy and gift me some BLKs. There is a gift option. Send me some and I’ll make sure to stop back in this thread and let everyone know you did. I’ll also post the results from my open chests.
