They then told all these people that they sold this to that the remake would be ‘really nice’.
Some players will think it’s really nice and some will not. All comes down to personal taste.
Of course. However, I know that the forums don’t speak for all but the feedback I have seen here so far is not so good. Also I feel that compared to the original it is weak sauce as far as details and such.
With this suggestion however, you’re not only buying the full normal t3 cultural human pieces (a total of 119 gold), you would also be required to add a further large sum of money to upgrade them to the old flamekissed version (one would assume at least another 60 gold on top of that – although that final price would be up to Anet respectively). Therefore, I believe it wouldn’t demean the original skin at all, in fact I think it would only enhance it. What do you think?
Nope, sorry. HT3 owners convinced Anet to make it go away. There are a lot of people that paid real world money for that skin only to have it taken away. It should stay gone. No flame skin for you. It’s only fair.
I am not saying that people should be happy with the redesign and shut up about it. All I am saying is that the design they made is more in keeping with the design of the other two sets.
See the problem is they sold something to people and then issued a recall for lack of better words. They then told all these people that they sold this to that the remake would be ‘really nice’. Then they slapped flames on feathered armor and said, “here you go.”
Some people that made the initial purchase based on what was advertised spent real world money just to buy the gems to get it. Then they were told if you don’t like the remake there would be a gem refund. That’s nice and all but then when the rework comes through it appears, at least on the surface, to be a lazy ‘slap some flames on feathered armor’. I think many people, including myself, were thinking that after Anet sold us something we can’t keep they would at least put some original work into it. You know, to try to make customers happy.
I’m still on the fence as far as what I think of the new look. I don’t like it but I don’t hate it. Still it seems like it was just slopped together. Granted refunds are available but I would like to think after taking customers money and ‘recalling’ the item customers paid for, they would have at least tried to come up with something original. Yes people can get refunds but there is some inconvenience on behalf of the customer involved in that as well and some loss of customer trust after all of this.
Nope. HT3 owners wanted it gone so it should be gone for good. HT3 owners had a chance to have it as well via the gem store but they argued that it should go away completely due to exclusivity. If you want armor with flames you buy what they offer now on the gem store. Bottom line. Armor with flames is now a perk for those of us that buy gem store armors. If they start offering it to cultural armor wearers it would be a slap in the face to gem store customers. It would negate the exclusivity of the gem store flame armors (see how that works). Sorry for your luck but having it gone is what HT3 owners asked for to start with. You shouldn’t get the best of both worlds.

You guys are being trolled.
Quoted for truth
I have to agree the fire T3 should be brought back (TO HUMANS ONLY), even as an item that upgrade the normal t3.

How are your FPS in placed like LA? I can’t login to check myself at the moment. I’m curious if it is a WvW thing or global.
You got it wrong. First it needs to be reskined onto a really cool armor then after people buy it it has to be reskined onto the armor you used for your models. At least that should be the case for your light armor model.
Last time I checked it was over $900 but I have not bought gems since August.
And now here we go with the other side of the Flamekissed debacle…
Round two coming up folks! Fresh popcorn and hot dogs here!
Here is the first round for those that missed it. 45 pages.

okay heres the deal, i spend 800 gems on that flamekissed armor on the tradepost for my necro sylvari. And it looked good, then i though maybe 2 Incinerator daggers would look cool on that, so i spend loads of gold on those and was pretty happy abouth that look. Then what do u people do, redo the armor look on the flamekissed set, so now it all looks crap, armor is awfull looking, my 2 Legendary daggers was a waste of time and gold. And 2 be real that aint just a few coppers. So at this point i feel like i just wasted abouth 5500 gold, well done anet i must say. So whats being done?? got a set of armor i dont like 2 Legendary daggers that i dont want eighter now!!!!!!! made em only 2 suit the old flamekissed armor….
Well that’s entirely your fault for comitting to all that knowing the armor would be reskinned.
How do you know they didn’t buy all that before it was announced it would be changed or that they didn’t see the announcement?
I think part of the problem here is that when it was announced that the original set would be redone people that were unhappy that they bought gems to get it, bought dyes to go with it and so forth were told that the new set would be ‘really nice’. Granted that perspective of the new set is subjective, I think many people thought the new set would be original. Instead it is just the feathered set with flames on it and not original at all. Of course refunds are available (well you can get your gems back but not actual money or gold spent on dyes and such used to compliment it) but it is kind of a slap in the face that the new set isn’t original art. This has been one of the biggest messes I’ve seen since I started playing and it seems that it was just given into slap some flames on it and let customer service sort it out.
The Royal Terrace stands unaffected by the Mist!
V.I.P. lounge FTW!
I looged into EOTM and got 100 Gold, must be my lucky day.
I got a precursor, The Legend, and 250 giant eyes.
I know its human t3, how about there’s an option to upgrade our current human t3 to flame if we wanted too. the skin exists, no need for it to not exist anymore.
Nope, HT3 owner wanted it gone. It’s gone forever. If they brought it back after all this it would be another huge mess of unhappy people. It wouldn’t be right to say, “Hey thanks for listening to us and getting rid of the Flamekissed that looked like HT3. Now let us have it instead.”
Well we were told the new skin would be ‘really nice’.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Flamekissed/first#post3276620
I suppose I assumed ‘really nice’ meant a new skin that wasn’t a reskin but something new altogether. I know what they say about assuming.
Here are mine. For some reason with the new set my dye channels have some dyes in them I don’t even own, oxblood and midnight red. I’m on the fence right now about it as there seems to be a lot less detail in the new set like around the waist area and such. I’m not exactly thrilled that it is a reskin of feathered since we were told the new set would be really nice. I guess by ‘really nice’ I was assuming it would be a completely different skin from existing ones but I know what they say about assuming.

Why do you ask? Do you want them to have DR? If so, well I would guess you are in the extreme minority.
It will be here soon.
If that is data mined it is going to be terrible. That helm structor is awful.
different strokes for different folks
Talk to your hand then.
People should never ask to nerf a reward system in this game as the reward system is somewhat stingy anyway. But if you insist, perhaps Anet should fix dungeons so players can’t make speed runs. After all those speed runners are toxic and elitist right? They kick people for not having enough achievement points or the wrong gear or not skipping past mobs. How toxic it is for the players when that happens. I’ve seen more posts of people upset about how they are treated in dungeons than I have about how they are treated in champ trains by far. Nerf dungeons to eliminate speed runs. See how that works?

Hello,
I know this might be a weird request as well I might be asking in the wrong place but I would appreciate If somebody can help me with this. I’m trying to make a Costume of the Human Tier 3 Heavy armor and I need some more picture of all sides and maybe even a good picture or the pattern of the symbols within the armor.
ps: everything I found online its not as accurate as I wish to be or its hard to see the symbols and patters .
-Thank you,
Nuno
Why don’t you go to the human T3 merchant and use preview mode to see the armor as it is in game?
Obviously, you don’t get it. Half of us have repeatedly said “Just do away with the leaderboard, we don’t care. It’s not about that.”
I miss you guys <3
aww, my thread was archived
I miss you too sir. It was bittersweet to meet and pass you in AP. I hope someday you can return.
I thought this wasn’t about leader boards??? You are acknowledging that the leader board means something to you with that statement. It was “bittersweet” passing that person on the leader board. But I thought it wasn’t about the leader board?
Lol where did I say anything about leaderboards in my response to Ewon?
If you don’t care about the leader board why was it “bittersweet” when you passed him?
Give it up princess.
I’m glad to see you can hold it together in this conversation.

This game doesnt need mounts.
Because…. ? And don’t say “because it would be like WoW”
Go to Google and type this in the search box.

Happy reading
There isn’t much in this game that doesn’t get you XP and in turn help you level. In fact it seems if you venture out of main cities and even sneeze you get XP, LoL. Explore, harvest every node you run across, do events you run across, do hearts, do dailys, do personal story and so forth. Really it is hard not to gain XP in this game. I tried it with my mule alt and still leveled. haha
My advice is do not rush to 80. There is no reason to and you will enjoy the adventure more if you don’t.
How does this really affect new players negatively other than ragers getting mad and swearing when a champ dies before train arrives
1) new players will not have the skill nor know how or what a champ is to begin with
2)even if they had the skill they wouldnt be able to solo it with default low level skills and utility by that level they ll have at most 1-2 utilities
3)infact said train actually benefits new players if they decide to tag along they get Experience Karma Coins Gear Free inventory bags Crafting materials Achievement Points Skill Point Scrollsso yeah new players wouldnt be able to fight champs on their own to begin with and by new i mean legit new players not random alt characters
No, you have not been reading all this thread. Apparently the camp train ruins the entire game for new players. New players are supposed to run across these champions on their own and get killed over and over and then think, “Hey this is great! What an epic experience. Here, Anet let me give you all my money now because I’m going to play 9 hours a day forever!”
No wait, everyone is suppose to be running fast dungeon paths over and over to get loot and gold because it is harder. That is really the point of all this anti-train stuff. “Because my way is better and the way I spend my time farming is more valuable.” LoL
I do not a problem with the train. I have a problem with the reason the train exists. That is the problem I want fixed. What happens to the train after that gets fixed I do not care.
Too bad. Stop worrying about how others choose to play and worry about how you choose to enjoy playing instead. You will be better off for it.
How many times do I have to say that I do not have a problem with what others do with their time?! That if they do fix the problem and the train still exists, then I do not care at all.
What I have a problem with is the fact that ANet does not have very many reasons to go out and explore the world beyond getting 100% map exploration.
The rewards aren’t there, the loot isn’t there, etc, etc. There aren’t very many challenging opponents out there as the mechanics are very much the same between them. The gameplay itself leaves much to be desired. And THAT’S what I want fixed. That’s what I care about.
So you think players should be funneled by Anet into areas of the game you think are worth playing?? That already occurs to some extent with some of the LS stuff, map completion in WvW, and so forth. From what I have read hear many times, people don’t care to be told where to go and what to do.
No. Reasons to go to a map does not equal forcing to go to a map. Or do a particular thing. I’d love it if ANet added more reasons to do PvP. And I do not PvP because it’s not my cup of tea. And if they did add more things to PvP I would not feel funneled into playing PvP.
There are plenty of reasons to go college. Does that mean college is for everyone? No.
Bur right now, there’s no reason for me to go to Fireheart Rise now that I’ve got 100% map completion on my main. I do applaud ANet for making the LS events not all in LA. But that’s only 2 maps. Out of how many maps?
What does any of that have to do with why you don’t like the Queensdale champ train? Oh and LS events only 2 maps out of how many maps? What? The LS events have been all over in many maps aside from just 2.

Congrats on the kill again. TTS is still battling bugs. At least we have a Dev that runs with us, so we don’t have to report anything.
Ohh. so you are blaming it on bugs now. LoL Deso has done it twice now without any blaming failures on bugs. I thought you guys were the ’elite" of all “hardcore” ’elite" players. No excuses then. LoL

I actually wrote it to show the guy is right. Tequal is dead in many server. I didn’t say there isn’t many tequal kill happening.
I was talking about populations, considering how frequently he is killed on larger servers (where there are more people) then he’s not exactly dead even if many servers don’t do it, particularly since guesting makes “my server doesn’t do X” irrelevant.
I’m on Tarnished Coast, a high pop and well known active server. Last Saturday night, prime-time 8:30 or so EST I was in Spark Fly doing some alt map completion stuff. Someone announced in chat that Teq was up and the only response was, “That’s nice.” I should have taken a screen shot I guess to validate this post but I was busy doing my own thing.
After you get past the initial mechanic, the actual ‘difficulty’ of the fight is nothing but a brainless stat check, just like Tequatl. There is no challenge or strategy in squelching every last point of DPS out of the stat system.
Shhh… Noo… These events are all about being hardcore and elite. At least that is what some people want you to think. :P

Sounds like some of you guys would have like the “Postal” video game, what 15 years ago or so and its sequel. While not an MMO it would have been right up your alley. It got banned in a few countries. I’m not saying that is a good thing, but saying if gore and such is your thing there are options out there.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Sure I’m still waiting for the dog fighting mini game and wear your defeated PvP opponents facial skin as a mask update. O_o
I agree FF, but Anet has shown in many cases that they want players to be forced to play in certain ways so as to experience all aspects of their game. By putting those champs on skill points they are basically saying, “Bring some friends.” I don’t agree with it myself. Like I also mentioned it is the same way with the end of the personal story. “Better bring some friends.” How personal is that?
I totally agree that open world PvE should be solo friendly. It just seems that Anet wants to force you to play in ways they think you should play at times and in cases like Orr that means taking a bunch of people with you.
I miss you guys <3

Grats Deso! It is good to see it got done outside of a specialized guild that makes overflows as a means of creating an artificial ‘instance’ via overflow.

Are TTS still having fun fighting the worm?
Not sure. After Deso got the first confirmed completion I don’t see them around here much in this forum.
I’ve only been playing the game for a few months (82 days to be exact according to /age), so I still consider myself a new player. You may or may not agree with my being a new player. Newer player might be more fitting. At any rate…
I don’t see anything wrong with the Queensdale champion train. In fact, I personally thought it was kind of a cool thing, something I hadn’t seen before.
My first experience with it was when I was attempting to get the vista point in the bandit lair (can’t remember the name). I attempted it a couple of times but kept getting killed by the bandits in the area. However, after seeing the train make its way into the bandit station, I managed to get the vista point, since the bandits were all dead. Seemed pretty cool actually.
I was never put off by the train. As a new player, I didn’t run around with a group, so trying to kill any of the champions wasn’t even a forethought. In fact, I don’t know if any new player would attempt to kill the champions anyway… at least not without being part of a group. And since the train runs non-stop, a new player can tag along, be a part of a group for a short while, kill the champ and move on his/her merry way.
I think there is entirely too much of people worrying about what someone else is doing with their time in the game. People should probably pay more attention on their own fun rather than someone else’s.
But according to the anti-train group you must have seen the train and it ruined your experience as a new player. What you say can’t be true. :P
I think places like this, Orr, are like other parts of the game. By that I mean it is a point where Anet wants you to bring friends and explore being part of a team effort. We see it in the end of the personal story, WvW map completion, and in cases like this. I guess the idea is that this is an MMO and you should, at some point, start finding a way for others to join with you. I can’t say I agree with it, but I’m guessing that is part of the reasoning behind these places in Orr. You, know, join a guild and ask for help sort of thing.

Can we all just agree to put a cap of 1,000,000 AP from dailies and be done with it?
Sounds good to me.
This is called Griefing, and you can be suspended for this if people report you.
Yeah it is kind of like the OP posted saying, “Hey Anet, I’m trolling other players. Please review my chat logs to see if I need a 72 hour vacation.”
There are lots of people that do such things but generally they are not role playing they are just trolls in real life and enjoy making things difficult for others. I see them almost every time I log in.
Queensdale champ train is so, so, so, sooo bad. For that to be the first thing a new player to be exposed to is just terrible.
You guys act like the train takes up the entire map and is the first thing a player sees when entering Queensdale. With the exception of the bandit champ, which is near a vista, the other champs are not even near anything significant. Oak and troll are somewhat near a waypoint and boar is in the general area of a heart quest but it isn’t like they are along the beaten path. Unless you are looking for the champ train it would probably be some time of playing before you stumble across it. Meanwhile as the new player if they ask some random question that often comes up for new players in /map there are several people in map to answer for them instead of just hearing crickets. Again, for all you so concerned about new players, why not be proactive and go there and offer to show them how you like to play.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
This is where all the home instances are. Note: You can enter any of them despite your character’s race and use the nodes in the home instance.
Dungeons are also part of PvE.
Yes and Mesmers do well in dungeons which is why I said all aspects of PvE. Time warp can be a pretty handy elite skill for those tough fights in close quarters.
