I haven’t noticed that many new players either to be honest. Guild advertises all the time like many others. Was odd to see in my main but I figured it has to do with that new video they released and giving away copies.

Will it be a reward? Or will it be 400 gems?

Lets be honest here. If the reactor did not win and it was Abaddon, it would have been the same thing. Scarlett would have still popped up.

Lucky for me none of these look good on any of my characters. I can understand why some players are unhappy about it. All of those armor pieces are reskins of armor already in game with fire added to it.

This whole patch is kinda meh…

crap reward. not going to entice me to do fractals at all. Feels lazy.

I understand why. Not everyone is going to do fractals, and not everyone likes them so put in a reward you won’t be sad if you miss. Still…

Instead of the classic “Simpsons did it!” we now have “Scarlett did it!”

The holiday doesn’t even matter for reasons posted above. It certainly doesn’t help or add anything to it though.

They can add them any way they like. As long as it’s not a throw away zone like southsun. At this point I simply want more to explore and do.

I am happy they had some silly fun spending advertising money on this. An expansion would also bring players in and or back.

It takes me way too long on a daily basis to sell material in the TP. I hate this error.

edit: Can I use my bricks to build a house or a statue of my character in my home instance. I have a lot of them I could probably do it.

If you aren’t at 30 when the patch hits you already lost out…seems silly.

I don’t think so. Players have evolved and there are more of them now then in DAOC. Attitudes are different, and mostly for the worse.

Whats funny is going into season 1. Almost no one outside of BG thought they were going to win. It was all JQ and SoR. BG 3rd…maybe. There was a clear 2v1 after the first weekend verse JQ. On top of being hailed as the best server pre season they got the easiest schedule.

Somewhere in weeks 2 and 3 SoR simply stopped showing up. They gave up. If TC is still fighting strong regardless of the outcome I say good on them.

Next week might be interesting. Wondering if BG shows to the fight at all to be honest.

Which to eat first….

In 2 weeks when the next patch hits after this one most players will be bored to death of fractals. Achievement hunters will have most if not all of what they need from any new achievements so you won’t see a ton of new players continuing on after that.

it’s slowly getting there as it is. a lot of scamers out there watchout.

I gave up on ascended weapons because I made one and didn’t need it to be honest. in wvw it probably makes a small difference but in pve it’s nearly useless. opinion based but I don’t need it at all.

1. New traits — dec 10th we know it’s coming, are there really new ones? not sure but we know revamp. Which will be the second time this year.
2. New skills —already got it, was a healing skill.
3. Crafting to 500 for armor —coming
4. Ascended armor -- coming with crafting to 500
5. Precursor crafting —possibly if you believe rumors but colin told us this might not happen
6. New legendary weapons —very doubtful, again same post as before colin said it’s probably not going to happen this year.
7. New PvP game modes -- Not going to happen this year, we won’t even hear more about this until the start of 2014.

so all in all fairly spot on.

WOW 14 pages so far. Enjoy your reset. Leader boards are not going to entice casual players, they won’t have the time or possibly skill to compete here. There will be some exceptions to this but on the whole it’s kinda pointless. Those at the top already will simply re-climb.

Haven’t really seen anything reward wise for the work involved that makes me think I’ll want to do this more than a handful of times.

I love the QQ in this thread though.

Black Friday is this week, not next week. I don’t remember anything too significant being on sale last year. Maybe some boosters and such.

that is true daimasei you could do that. I’ve got 40g to my name. I am willing to pay cash for gems but not my limited gold. I do not make enough gold in this game to afford those luxuries. Wish there was a more concise way of buying them but it is what it is. I’ve got 600 more saved for something else.

where is the math on this? 8 hours a day, 10 hours of pure efficient farming?

for lower level and less experienced players fractals seem like a waste of time. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. My issue has always been the length it takes to complete these.

I don’t have a group of people who run these regularly. I pug them almost always. With Pugs at 17 and under it takes well over 90min to complete and is rather boring and tedious for very little reward. I’ll try the new fractals at lest once to play them but I can’t see myself running it more than that.

content isn’t really aimed at me though and I am sure lots of players will enjoy them. It feels like this is a long time coming.

most casuals will give up fairly quickly. RNG will take care of most of it.

Partially true. Getting 55AR still takes some considerable time and gold.

so if I do not have a back item with +5 AR now, then come the patch I’ll put the work in for an empty extra slot or will new back items and rings come with +5 in the slot already?

edir: @ daros: Yes you will have the same. your current amount of AR will not change, but you’ll be able to add to it if you want.

again, the trailer was great. One of the best to date in my opinion. I hope we see this stuff in game rather than in a trailer.

I want to give applause to the sound / music department. Aside from the visual candy the music was very powerful to me. bravo.

With Q3 earnings more or less holding steady I don’t see things getting cheaper…

for an unskilled fractal runner their general length is often a deterrent. Most of the time I won’t even bother because I know the time commitment it takes to get involved in them.

Awesome video, incredible music this time. But I am not excited at all for this patch. I know that sometimes some content isn’t for me and I need to accept that, but as much as I try to get excited for anything listed there; I am not.

I don’t normally play a human, and the one I do have I made recently so I never noticed. My wife mentioned something to me the other day about the running looking odd and she hated it. Figured she was imaging things.

I think the LS is doing good a tiding over some of the player base, and if this was it’s purpose I would say good job. However as of right now, this isn’t it’s purpose. It’s purpose it the drive for the game.

When I read the forums I see players asking for:
New Race
New Profession
New Zones (fully fleshed out, not south sun)
New Classes
New Weapons
New Skills
New WVW and sPVP maps
The list goes on

Some of these have been met with the LS in some form or another, but none of them have been met in greater detail. We get small snip its of this and that. Maybe players in general are ok with this but the vocal group on forums, reddit, etc, seem to want a content dump, something much larger and they are willing to pay for it.

It will be interesting and I am hopeful to see how arena net reacts to this other MMOs getting released. Normal practice is that there is some huge patch to try and combat a release, but arena net has been anything but normal when it comes to this game. (I mean that in a good way)

would love to know if someone is in 3 digit k gold. I know several people in game and guild who have easily over 10k. I still think this is a clear minority but it’s not impossible to get that much.

I’ve seen Nikes on a poster before and they are pretty amazing. :P

I use them and hope they are still useful enough once nerfed.

well the is a title for having gold why not MF, why not 5 legendary weapons (also nothing).

I am very interested in profitable methods of salvaging. I want 300% MF some day, just to have.

it is very popular and clearly a good portion of players find it an appealing skin. Make it because you like it not because it’s rare.

going for a hazmat suit kinda look. needs some work. but I like where it’s going.

my guess is we will continue to see different versions as we go along.
