Guild Wars 2

Well I am no where near the top of the leader board so that doesn’t really matter too much to me. I have a completion thing. Although I’ve stopped more or less now. Completing the daily is more about the rewards for me (not even that great or worth it I know)

But there isn’t much else to do honestly.

I used to really chase these points and it is in deed boring and mind numbing and I really started to hate the game. Still not as bad as wow dailies but getting close.

I was unhappy over an update and stopped trying to get these points. I discovered that while I was happy to not chase them that the truth was I chased them because there is nothing else for me personally to do in the game.

Now I log in, do my 5 and log out. Sad because soon enough I won’t even log in except on Tuesdays every 2 weeks to see if the patch is even worth my time. As of late it hasn’t been.

I have hopes AN will make the game interesting again but I am losing hope and faith.

I think I actually suffer from this. But it’s very hard to describe to a medical professional and have them take you seriously. lol

I want you to really take a hard look at your prices on the gem store. Most of them are ok. However recently there seems to be a trend especially in armor but this relates to tools as well about a price creep. 100 here, 200 there. Please reconsider what you are doing here. Thanks.

“No. They milk pretty much everyone equally” Sadly this is how I feel. Mini collectors do indeed get milked every release. spend 1k gems for 4 minis. Winters day is tough this year because they are kitten ed cute and would love to add them to my collection. But with continuing practices and recent trends I cannot support AN at this time.

This is how they fund their game. “Free” content or not has to be good and engaging. If it is not people won’t stay to play.

Lots of Mini collectors were complaining about Mr Sparklers. And while I wish he was sold in the gem store instead of this promotion at least it’s a way to get him other than going to an event or trying to win from a fan site.

I have had my sparkles for some time now. I was very lucky a friend had an extra and that friend is generous. Many are not so lucky.

Having bought all bag slots for 1 character at launch I wish they were account wide as well. Especially since I don’t play that toon anymore. lol

It doesn’t matter what other players find fun or drives them to play this game. The game isn’t for you. This sounds like a cop out but in this case it’s the truth. You’ve left the game 5 times already because you aren’t having fun, you don’t enjoy the game, and you don’t like the combat in general. No matter what drives other players it doesn’t drive you.

GW2 like every other MMO I’ve personally ever played is kind of pointless until you get to max level. Unless you like exploration and questing, if neither of those are appealing then that part of the game falls flat.

20% is better than zero but still not a great discount to be honest. But this does seem to be usual for these types of sales from AN.

I can’t buy any of them though as I know the logging axe which is now 1k gems And those Jory weapon skins will probably be going away soon. Simply can’t afford and honestly have no desire to spend 50 bucks in the gems store. I could buy another game for that amount or several months worth of subs.

Do you realize that many people don’t need those gems, because there won’t be likely sucha a good skin anymore in the gem store? First I was giving information to those in the thread above. I did not tell anyone to shut up about it.

Secondly to my knowledge AN has never given cash back, they give you gems (like store credit) I understand you might want cash back but I am sure its probably difficult to separate those who paid IRL money and those who paid gold.

Thirdly, I understand what the players are asking for. And in some situations they’ve copied over armor and in some rare situation over other T3 armor. I don’t know that there is a solution to this. It might be lost and that stinks.

Last point: While there might not currently be anything you want as a playing in the gem store I think it’s a little silly to consider there will NEVER be anything worth those gems.

All that being said it is a bad situation that AN themselves caused by being a bit aloof and making poor gem store decisions.

Still waiting on an email as well. This is poor customer service (is that the right department? Promotions maybe?) I have not gotten an email. Can we get confirmation from someone at AN maybe?

That skin is changing and if you don’t like it you will be able to get gems refunded.

Most expansions I’ve ever bought or played had way more features and content then what we’ve gotten in the LS. My view might be skewed because most of the content is gone and you can currently not see it.

All T1 servers supposedly “buy” guilds so BG isn’t alone here.

Since I can’t vote for my home since day 1. I am going to go with JQ. We’ve been fighting them for a long time and for most of it have been good solid competitors.

It was a poor analogy on my part, the point I was trying to make (and failed) was that losing should not net you rewards. In the situation I mentioned they don’t keep score because “everyone is a winner”

1. Dead Scarlet
2. No more Scarlet in stories that she doesn’t need to be involved in
3. Scarlet free Expansion

It kind of does mean that though. We have yet to see them deliver expansion type quality material. On top of all this LS updates are not nearly tested enough. Each one seems to be as buggy or buggier than the last one.

When asked about LS and the story involved or general content you get told “well we developed that 4 months ago, it’s just that your seeing it now and we couldn’t change it in time”

I would consider the quality and differential quantity to be lacking from LS updates throughout the year.

Thy are in my opinion acceptable filler while waiting for an expansion but are by no means a replacement to an expansion. I hope AN eventually agrees with that but so far that doesn’t seem to be the case.

It doesn’t matter what I think. I found step brothers to be funny and I hate scarlet; therefore I’m lowbrow. According to AKG anyways. :P

The game is living well off the gem store. So much so that they aren’t currently considering an expansion.

I figure we’ll get armor on the 10th or the patch thereafter. I expected it originally in the FRACTURED patch.

I feel like this is true. At least for me. I am chasing gold to buy gem store items and or buy off the TP. I am not chasing items in the game itself.

None of this matters. Because “scarlet did it”

You shouldn’t have to “research”, the game should present this lore to the players in someway. Going outside the game to read these stories is poor implementation. It’s a shame because those stories are better than most of the in game lore.

Without grinding dungeons / champ farming / Orr Event farming how do you make money?

I don’t think the general populace is nearly as rich as you think they are. Simply playing the game and gearing out leaves you generally broke until you do the methods above. By broke I am talking about Sub 50g.

I realize that’s not “broke” but it leaves you in a spot where it’s tough to buy or obtain some of the better looking items in the game, or get crafting to 500, etc.

Until SoR stopped trying we did indeed have to consider them.

Every week when all three top servers face each other there is consideration given to the other 2 (talking about before the season)

There are work and hours put in on BG/JQ/SoR nearly every week.

I am not sure how you are going to make and or entice players to leave these servers. Some might because of boredom or because they want to shake things up, but there are more guilds and players to fill those holes.

For the record the reward and chests we get aren’t going to be that great. Just my opinion. The finisher is the real reward.

Will you recommend Guild Wars 2 to a friend during the “Migration” period?
Currently I will not, there was a time when this answer would have been different.

-Why or why not?
I feel like the base game we all played at launch is still there and is very good. A new player could get the same enjoyment I did from it and depending on the person I am referring then my answer for #1 might be different.

However, the last several patches have been more or less the same. They lack any sort of meat. You kill X monsters, Find X whatever, Complete X events, etc, etc. The story started out fairly good and has turned into Scarlet did it. On top of that the story you do get is very minimal. Few lines here and there and that’s about it. 1-2min of story really.

On top of this you have patches every 2 weeks. As a fresh new player into this world I would be pulling my hair out trying to make sure I was getting that experience and for lower levels some of these patches are difficult to do if not impossible. See Meta for TA path or Teq. I realize that those on the whole stayed in the game and you can experience them whenever you like (this is good) but you miss out on skin X or Y which may or may not be important to a new player.

Every week we get new gem store stuff, this isn’t really a bad thing. In fact its pretty good. However, a lot of it is filled with RNG this or that or temporary tools, Minis, etc.

I could go on, but that is enough I think.

-What do you like about the current Living Story content?
I do like some of the story. I do like frequent updates, when they aren’t full of bugs. But there isn’t much else sadly.

-What do you dislike?
Kind of listed this above. But patches feel rushed. We constantly here there aren’t enough resources to do X,Y,Z. I am not a fan of RNG Dyes, Tickets, etc. I’ve tired of buying double mini packs because I want all 4. I am tired of not being able to earn this stuff in game as well other than to grind out gold and convert it. (I know they need to make money)

I don’t like scarlet, or how she has to overshadow everything. I don’t like that when one of these patches is worked on in August that it’s too late a few months later to go back and change or fix things when the community doesn’t like X or Y.

This is more but this is enough.

-In your opinion, do you like the direction of this game? What would you like to see?
I am not a fan of where the game is currently or has been heading. I would like to see an Expac and next year with tons of new MMOs coming out I think GW2 is going to need it badly.

I want to see a new Race
new zones -fully fleshed out not southsun cove
new skills
new weapons or at least the same weapons with new skills for different classes
continued weapon and armor skins and more than 1 way to obtain these
new personal story
This is just a start.

I think so, but then again I agree with you.

Game has tons of gold sinks, not to mention constant nerfing of reliable farming methods.

This WXP change should have been the way from the start. Happy they are changing their mind on it though.

I am feeling the same way. More and more each patch.

But BG was winning before ZDS got there…

I guess you could call it burn out. But simply there is nothing for me to do. I can WVW and have recently with season 1. But I was logging in everyday do my dailies (nearly all of them), make sure monthly is done, make sure meta is done and log out. Sometimes I sPVP for a bit but I get bored pretty quick.

For many reasons I am currently boycotting this latest patch so I won’t be back in Dec. In the end that decision only hurts me and my friends / guild but I need to personally do it. The current and continuing trends put forth by AN are unacceptable.

More proof this patch was bad. I am sure there will be plenty of threads in days to come on how level XX is too hard or difficult but the general consensus seems to be that it’s not to hard.

I’m not sure I agree with any of the suggestions put forth for NA. Not going to call out guilds because that will only make this thread worse.
