Can I still get heirlooms any way besides farming Rubble daily?
So without the Citizen Rescue bags, I’m ind of at a loss the most efficient way to farm Heirlooms besides Rubble Piles.
Anyone know if anything in this update lets us obtain them outside the annoying Rubble Piles?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractal_Karma_Reward_Table
I’m a little confused by this chart.
Right now my Personal Level is 40. Does that mean I wont gain any karma if I do level 28? Or will it reward me (as normal) 8640 karma?
Also, is it affected by boosters?
The question, is how much damage does Static Discharge+Battering Ram deal, versus Flamethrower #2?
Both utility skills have an optional knockback, and both also pierce. Nepalm recharge is also 6 (can be traited to be even lower), while battering ram is higher.
As a high level FOTM Engineer, I find myself using Ranged attacks on bosses very often. Unfortunately, I can’t decide which utility setup maximizes Ranged damage. Any other experts here think they can help me out?
My current setup:
Utility #1: Grenade Kit.
’Nades are a given, in almost any ranged situation. Enough said.
Utility #2: Rifle Turret.
Static Discharge + Surprise Shot. Great damage.
Utility #3: Flamethrower.
I use it for the #2 skill and fire field, then swap back to nades.
Arguably, it seems like it is the third slot (Flamethrower) that seems like it could be changed. But to what?
Hey ANET. Ranger is my favorite procession next to Engineer, so I am super-excited reading over this CDI.
I’ve posted my suggestion in another thread, but I will try posting here:
If Ranger is the pet class, why don’t we have more unique pets?
As it stands right now, every pet is the same as the other… They have a different f2, different skills, sometimes different attack speed, but overall, they all feel like the same meatbags who follow targets.
So why not add pets with more unique abilities? Such as NON-offensive pets, which sacrifice damage for buffs and utility?
For example, for as long as allies are within 500 radius of this pet, they gain pulses of protection. In exchange, this pet would be very fragile.
Another example of a non-offensive pet, is that while it is out, the Ranger receives a 30% damage buff (to compensate for lack of offensive pet) and blind is pulsed around the pet.
One example of a more “unique” offensive pet would be the already existing Coyote… But what if instead of spawning 2 pets, it spawned a pack of 6 we could control with our f123 buttons? Sorta like the Necromancer, but with a focus on control.
The Ranger has loads of potential as a “pet class”, but what they need are more interesting ways to make use of our pets.
They’re having a CDI about Rangers soon. It’s safe to say Ranger will undergo a massive overhaul and buff in the next few months.
I have a hard time believing someone with 7.5k Achievement Points is “new”.
So… I just be an kitten leader and kick people 1/3 through the run?
Concerned about Captain's airship passes.

Anyone have cool screens of the air ship?
An honest question here: Why do so many people use Brown Bears?
I could understand the PVT armor, I could understand the “tank” pet, but WHY Brown Bear even in situations without conditions? Where Black Bear would be superior for applying AoE weakness and actually, y’know… Support?
I mean, just… Of ALL the Bears they use, why, why, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHYYYYY does it have to be the Brown Bear?
Not only that, but they INSIST only to use Brown Bear, even when I’m hosting a level 40+ FoTM group. I mean, I usually don’t kick, but I can’t say it doesn’t annoy me when Rangers use the same weapon and pet the entire dungeon, even while we’re fighting Old Tom when we need 1h Sword + Panther DPS.
Is there something people just aesthetically like about Brown Bears? Not just ingame, but in general… Do so many people really just love the aesthetics of the Brown Bear THAT much?
I don’t understand the psychology of it… Any other class, they swap weapons according to the situation, but for some reason, Ranger PUGs I meet don’t pull their weight… Why?
What do you expect instead?
Hey all. I’m thinking of buying the perma air ship pass, but my decision rests on its aesthetics.
Anyone have screenshots? Thanks!
The Hero of Tyria - A NEW THEORY
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

What is Scarlet digging for?
If it’s not a dragon, but we do know it is magic-related… Why, it must be none other than the “Hero of Tyria”!
That’s right! Scarlet is looking for the Tomb of the GW1 Hero of Tyria!
Some have theorized Scarlet is trying to stop the Dragons. In order to do that, she would need something of great power. To date, is there any other character in the GW universe who rivals the power of the GW1 Hero?
Just how powerful is the GW1 hero? I’ll put it to you this way: He KILLED a god! Not only that, but he sealed away Dhuum, and slaughtered the Great Destroyer with only a small band of 8!
Even Primordus, the ELDER DRAGON himself, was so scared, that he delayed his awakening!
Lore-wise, the Hero of Tyria is very powerful, both physically and magically. Literally, THE God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals!
If the Ley Lines are like Tyria’s bloodstream of magic, perhaps the reason they gather at LA is because that is where the Hero of Tyria’s tomb is?
Just checked HoTW armor on my male Heavy Sylvari.
Waist issue is fixed.
GG ANet. And good job!
Splish. Splash. Four Norn in a Bath. WOOO! AH HA HA HA!
L.A's Downfall. Feelings? (Survey)

A
I really like the city, but let’s face it: Spamadan was always better.
Hmm… I would like to see the Ranger borrow more from the Ritualist. Afterall, it’s not like we can’t already call down lightning bolts upon our foes.
Just bring back Spamadan. Who needs LA, anyways?
It was to my understanding that Death Shroud is a more balanced version of Life-Stealing, without allowing a player to regenerate massive amounts of health.
As for our role, the Necromancer is currently being balanced as a PvP control class, similar to how Curses functioned in GW1.
In PvP, a Necromancer focus is placed mainly on restricting movement and controlling the battlefield. This is made more obvious by the ability to use Marks (visible traps on the battlefield), Wells, frequent Chill, Immobilize, and Fear, and punishment (such as Locust Swarm damaging foes staying near us.)
Unfortunately, as genius as the Necromancer may be for PvP, they do not translate well to PvE.
Pics please. I am curious to see!
Zhaitan’s size is fine, in my opinion. When you “swim” out of bounds and find him lying still in the abyss below, you notice he is actually REALLY huge!

Scarlet better not touch my precious Zomorros-chan, otherwise I’m going to bust some heads…
Scarlet is a troll, and there for:

Concise Feedback on Ranger:
—NOTE—I PLAY BERSERKER!!!—NOTE—
(For Tequatl & Dungeons/Fractals)
Are we a control class? Long Range? Healing? What exactly is our purpose in a team? This is an issue that has been plaguing the Ranger since the days of GW1, where we are built up to be a Jack-of-All-Trades, without the versatility of an Elementalist or Engineer/Ritualist.
Here are the main issues in my opinion that hold Ranger back:
1) Our weapon sets besides OH axe don’t do anything significant.
_*Main-Hand*
Sword:
Firstly, let me say this is my FAVORITE Ranger weapon. However… 111111111111111113evade1111111111111111. That sums up Sword in a nutshell. It deals damage… And damage… and damage… and damage. Kinda like Guardian 1h Sword, but without their extraordinary utility skills. I’m sure you’re already aware about the “sticking”/evade issue on 1h sword, so I’m not going to bother bringing that up. Instead, it’s the #2 skills bothers me. I believe the intention behind #2 skill is to leap and then range a foe, but in practice, it’s not needed anywhere in PvE. For example, bosses in FoTM boil down to mostly Melee or Range, with little reason to switch between the two. Why use the #2 skill anywhere? So instead, I suggest hitting two birds with one stone: “spice up” our 1h Sword by changing #2 to something else useful.
Axe:
Oh boy, where do I start… Useless? Just what is the point of this weapon’s existence? Is it Power, or Condition damage? AoE or Single Target? From my experience, the only times I ever used it were for when I wanted to use my Offhand weapons without the “stick” of 1h Sword, however the loss in damage was so awful… So.. pathetically awful… That I never touched MH Axe again. What MH Axe needs is firstly a more defined role, and secondly a damage buff. Third, and most importantly: MH Axe needs to synergize with OH weapons, where 1h Sword does not.
_*Off-Hand*
Torch:
When designing an OH weapon, the most important question to arise is: How can it synergize with MH weapons? Both the #4 and #5 are fairly similar and lackluster in PvE, as all they do is burn the enemy. The #5 Bonfire would be useful if the Ranger had more Blast Finishers to give himself Might, which he lacks on any of his MH weapons and Utilities. The #4 is in need of a total makeover, while the #5 needs more synergy. One idea I had was to make #4 a Condition-Removal.
Axe:
The best off-hand in the game, in my opinion. I wanted to highlight this, so that other weapons follow it as an example of a great weapon, with both damage and utility.
_*Two-Handed*
Shortbow:
111111111111111113evade11111111111111. Same issue as 1h sword, minus the awesome damage. Was nerfed to 900 range awhile ago, which made it even more lackluster compared to the Longbow. Just what is the point of this weapon? I have no ideas, but I do hope it is addressed. Even the newby Bearbows use Longbow instead of this miserable pile of skritt…
2) Trait compression
Too many traits are necessary just to make a basic build. 20 Marksmanship is necessary, for our niches of Eagle Eye, Spotter, and Piercing Arrows, while, 20 Skirmishing is always necessary just to make our pets deal decent damage (Pet Prowess and Companion’s Might). ALWAYS having to invest 40 trait points just to pull our weight doesn’t give the Ranger a lot of freedom. Some traits, such as Piercing Arrows, need to be moved down a line or combined with Eagle Eye, while other traits (Pet Prowess) shouldn’t have to exist in the first place, and those bonuses should be innate instead.
3) TRULY different pets
If Ranger is the “Pet Class”, why not give us pets with TRULY different abilities? What if instead, we had a pet that DOESN’T engage in combat, but instead buffs us and allies? Something like as long as it is alive, it would buff its owner’s damage by 25% and pulsate Protection for anyone within a 240 radius, but be INCREDIBLY fragile to damage?
4) Permastow
Sometimes we just want out Pet to GTFO, especially when a Thief uses Shadow Refuge. Maybe change the Stow function to stop only when we attack, rather than entering combat.
5) Utilities
Spirits activating their effects only once every 10 seconds is underwhelming, Spirit actives have too high recharge with underwhelming and low radius effects, Sharpening Stone and Lightning Reflexes have too high recharge, our signets shouldn’t force us to trait just to use their active, while traps are just low damage combo fields… (Granted, Spike Trap would be cool if made into a Blast Finisher)
TLDR; Our trait and skills do not have a significant enough impact in PvE. Our role in dungeons are undecided, yet we lack versatility outside 111111 spamming.
Let’s be rational: It’s not in ANET’s interest to have an entire mechanic plagued with bugs, there for, they are working on it.
It’s Kasmeer, actually.
Remember, the ORIGINAL Lost Shores was to introduce our “Personal Nemesis”. Scarlet didn’t appear until later, and there for she is not our personal nemesis.
Kasmeer, on the other hand… We have a bone to pick with her…
What’s rewarded after the Greaves?
The Light version actually looks really, really cool!
Some of these weapons look absolutely amazing, except for the Heart…
Full set of Hellfire armor? The GW2 equivalant of GWAMM. BRING IT ON!!!!!!
I don’t need to say that I am a big fan of this update.
How much longer till I get the pants and chest?
Grenades that lob accurately at 1500 range aren’t haxing reality?
Excuse me, while I go barf some of my ancient gooness.
HEY! HO!
HOBOSACKS GOTTA GO!
For PvE, I meant*
With a few weeks gone by, Zealot armor (and Sprocket Jewelry) are much more widespread than was before.
This begs the question, which class/build benefits most from full Zealot gear?
Engineer? Guardian? Elementalist? Necromancer?
Scarlet’s “New” (Old?) voice is hot. Yes, Scarlet. I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this, but Scarlet’s voice is sexy. The Ring of Fire Islands are freezing over!!!!!!!
Seriously though, nice to see ANET listened to feedback. “New” Scarlet is a lot more compelling than the old Kefka-done-wrong mess.
We had an ENTIRE GW1 Post-game campaign to hype up Tengus as a playable race in Gw2 (Winds of Change)
OR OR OR OR OR we can do the Champion Farm in this zone. I’ve seen it done on Blackgate, and it’s awesome! (Better than Queensdale!)
Dugtrio. Makes sense…
At least Trahearne had one good scene (during the Dream’s vision of Orr.)
Seeing him say Zhaitan is scared was really cool.
Nice VA, actually.
Must’ve been the directing of GW2 that went wrong…
Abaddon is dead. Dead.
However, that doesn’t mean his evil, twin-brother, “Adaddon” can’t make an appearence!
I like it that way. Supposed to be a Sniper Rifle, not master blaster.
You’d be surprised how many people get confused between Wand and Staff. Once saw a guard get kicked because he was using Wand/Torch for DPS.
Oddly enough, a ranged weapon is our top damage weapon as well.

Can we see metrics of those registered for GW2 and those not registered for GW2? Because if someone creates an email exclusively for GW2 and they STILL get phishing emails, then that is a cause of suspicion.
Full Toxic armor set sounds like a great start.
Yay for Canada. As a Mystery author, I can say “eat skritt” to the NSA, and there’s nothing they can do about it!
Answer: Magic.
Seriously, This is GW2- a game where Mesmers can portal you, and Engineers can shrink you. Scarlet just so happens to be an Engineer/Mesmer hybrid.
