I noticed one of the hairstyles looks a LOT like Link, from the Legend of Zelda. I decided I want to recreate Link because of it.

For weapons, I imagine something like:
Sword – Ebonhawke Sword (Master Sword)
Shield – Krytan Shield (Closest to Hero’s Shield)
Greatsword – Ebonhawke (Biggoron Sword)
Hammer – Krytan Hammer (Megaton Hammer)
Longbow – Longbow (Hero’s Bow)

But what about armor? That is where I am having problems recreating Link… Any advice which armor to use on a heavy?

Hey all. After I craft my next legendary, I’m going to begin obtaining ascended armor for my Guardian.

What I’m wondering is how much it would cost post-500 Armorsmith?

With 6 pieces to craft, that’s 120 Skill Points, right? What about Obsidian Shards, and other mats?

I can’t believe people actually take note of this as an issue in the first place. So what if the biconics feature a lot of female characters? Would people complain if Canach had a bigger splotlight?

Personally, I think if there’s any issue, it’s the huge amount of skimpy Light armor. Come on, I wanted to play a White Mage, not a prostitute…

Tough choice between Tengu and Sylvari… On one hand, we have ninja birds. On the other, plant people. Ehhh, kinda leaning towards Tengu, so I could go full Narutard on people.

Wait, why are people complaining about spinal blades?? If I recall, that one backpiece singlehandedly shot up iron prices to insane amounts.

Scarlet Rifle also seems to be in high demand, for something which supposedly “looks like a cartoon”.

As for Scarlet’s Helmet… It’s admittedly not everyone’s cup of tea, but I can imagine those who want a “Skyrim” look on their toon will use it.

Lacks the farming from Escape from LA, but as a season finale, I do feel it did things justice. Everything felt very cinematic, and I loved how they experimented with Scarlet as an Open Raid Boss (what Zhaitan SHOULD’VE been…)

Oh, and the music was amazing!

Still, it did leave things unanswered, and it was buggy for quite awhile until things were fixed.

I’ll give it an 8/10. Great patch, quite underrated.

The new composers are above and beyond anything Jeremy Soule has done recently.

Just saying, but as great as Soule is, I am really hoping the new team of composers get the opportunity they deserve for the spotlight.

From the memorable Christmas themes, to the theme of Southsun Cove, to the elegant Zephyr Sanctum, the LOVEABLE Super Adventure Box, Marionette, Tower of Nightmares, and now this… C’mon ANET, give these guys the attention they deserve.

I want a headpiece like Link. To avoid copyright problems, just call it something like the “Green Yule Cap”, or anything.

My own question: A lot of players are worried that Ranger is held back because they tend to range foes, whereas everyone else stacks and melee. This results in the Ranger not giving or receiving buffs with the team.

If Rangers are intended to be the masters of Ranged damage, then this issue must be addressed. Is this currently a concern?

(My own personal idea is to synchronize buffs with the Ranger and his pet, so that the ranger could buff his party from a distance, as well as being buffed from a distance… E.G. If the pet receives might, so does the Ranger. The Ranger ranges, while the pet melees and gives him all the buff benefits of going melee.)

One concern brought up awhile ago:
Greatswords.

What happened to them? You mentioned taking away the Evade, and buffing their damage?

Personally, I’d love a Melee option for Ranger besides 1h Sword.

Thinking in terms of balance, I raise the question: how should we balance a full-melee Ranger?

To achieve diverse and efficient Melee options for the Ranger.

Proposal Functionality

—1h sword/Axe+Greatsword
Highest melee DPS.
Swapping between GS and 1h Sword for highest Ranger damage possible. Sword for Auto-attack, Greatsword for a high recharging Burst. (A high-recharge skill on a 20s cooldown with be ideal.)

—1h sword/Warhorn+1h sword/Torch
Buffs for team.
Makes use of combo field in Warhorn with the awesome Fire Field of Torch.

—1h sword/Axe+1h sword/Torch
CC and Blind.
If you were to go through with giving Torch a pulsing blind, then Axe would be an amazing weapon for pulling foes into your AoE.

—1h sword/Axe+1h sword/Torch
CC and Blind.
If you were to go through with giving Torch a pulsing blind, then Axe would be an amazing weapon for pulling foes into your AoE.

—1h sword/dagger+Greatsword
Defensive set.
Swaps between GS evade #3 and block, and the 1h sword’s evades.

I believe the butterflies were based off of Philemon from Carl Jung psychology (Yes, THE same Philemon who also appeared in Persona 2!)

So while playing a Mesmer, just pretend you’re summoning Philemon as your Persona.

In my dream, I saw a powerful, mystic forge, capable of melding together the strongest materials in all of Tyria.

Since awakening, it has been my Wyld Hunt to craft my very own legendary weapon from that forge. However, as a Guardian, I am left at the cross-road whether to walk the path of Day and Meteorlogicus, or walk the path of Night and Twilight.

My fellow Sylvari, what weapon will aid a Guardian more in the fight against those who threaten Tyria?

Just wanted to chime in and voice something of a great step in the right direction:
Viper’s Nest updated to the Poison Field.

What possibility does this open up?

When Drakes perform their Blast finisher, they also apply weakness to foes… But since they’re using a blast finisher, it will also trigger the weakness from Viper Nest.

By using two Drakes to blast the Poison combo field, you can stack 25-30 seconds of AoE Weakness on foes, within only the space of a few seconds. On a very low cool-down as well, of only 20 seconds.

It’s worth noting Asura could already do this using Radiation Field, and stack much higher duration of AoE weakness. However, what makes Viper Nest unique is its low cool-down.

It took awhile for me to realize how amazing a change this is, and ever since then, I have been incredibly excited for this buff.

Mace is for defense and healing. The block is incredibly useful and underrated.

Also, keep in mind the third attack of Sword #1 combo creates projectiles, so you wouldn’t use Sword in a place where projectiles are reflected.

Living Story might’ve shot GW2 in the foot at many times, but the past few updates have certainly done it justice.

Engineers have the best ranged damage in the game, I believe.

Nade Kit + Static Discharge + Napalm + Surprise Shot

Let’s be realistic, when you’re fighting bosses on level 40+ FoTM, such as Archdiviner, you will be ranging them a majority of the time. And who better for ranged damage, than the master of guns, explosives, and fire?

Flamethrower might not have the best autoattack in the game, but Napalm is awesome mid-range damage, and Juggernaut is awesome for free might. Plus, our 10s fire field makes elementalists jelly!

In order to wield the true Legendary weapons of GW1, you had to wear a brace of truth.

Linen farm is not endless. It has an invisible timer.

Honestly, I believe Braham made the smart decision, knowing Scarlet had some traps up her sleeve.

I liked Trahearne. It was the pacing of the personal story that was off, which in turn made him feel bland. We also never got to see much of his personality, outside of his interaction with Sieran in the Sylvari personal story.

Engineers play very schizo. More so than an elementalist.

If you decide to walk the path of an engineer, you may want to reconfigure your key bindings for easy kit access.

Been there too. Was dealing sky high Guardian Wand damage. I got no loot. I am a sad, sad panda.

I think this was a really cool touch, and I’d love to see more flavor-text depending on our race/profession in future updates.

Asura. Because Radiation Field (racial) is a 15s Poison Field just begging to be blasted. An Asuran elementalist can easily stack 50s of weakness on a boss, which will greatly benefit the team.
