Some say it is a legend, other say they have actually been there! For those who dare, I call it WvWvW
Very nice and polite way to say it mate, I would’ve said:
we don’t need open world pvp crap in gw2, play WvW like a man or gtfo, or what you can’t take it when you can’t just gank and grief the people questing for pve purposes.Dete ike, konoyaro, do aho.
Open PvP would be optional & WvW is zerging & ganking, that aint manly. -sigh- Some people will just never understand, I’m guessing you’re one of the guys who rages when you can’t finish the JP in EB and moan about it but still try to complete it anyway?
Please take them out of PvP, they’re annoying. Why do we move like slugs in fast paced combat? And why do we have to kill the same person twice? Almost every 1v1 will end up with people throwing rocks at eachother on the ground, and some downed skills are much better than others (warriors being able to rally for example). It’s cool to get that feeling of beating 2 people in a 1v2 but then getting killed because they down you and just kill you twice as fast.
I don’t know about the nerfs & buffs because I only play Thief, Warrior and currently am Lvling a Guardian. Thief revealed nerf was a pretty hard hit but was needed, don’t know what they did to warrior, don’t notice a difference. Guardian is too soon to determine since I’m only level 20 with that one.
I’ve seen a lot of people (pvp wise) that can dominate with the so-called underpowered classes like ranger and engi. But I gave a 1 for build variety since there’s so little of it, & what about bugs on traits and skills not operating as they should? Those deal a heavy blow to the effectiveness of classes and builds as well.
every week you change sides, know when the reset happens, as soon as it happens BAM, run towards those points, voila.
Yes, it might take a while, but trust me, only way if your server is losing (from 21/24 server; GoM for ya)
You don’t change servers every week unless the places in which the servers come are different everytime. Red = Last Place, Blue = Second Place, Green = First Place.
They’re a service.
Maybe it’s harder to put that kind of LFG tool into the game than you think, in GW1 they had it, but what was on it was requests in ONLY that city and that district(server). So there wasn’t many LFG’s on there, only stuff revolved around trading and that was only in Lions Arch, Kamadan and sometimes Kaineng Center since they were the most populated.
Go play WoW then if you want gear grind, some people don’t have the time to constantly grind for better gear then once they attain it having to grind again for the next top tier of gear. It’s just annoying and time consuming, not to mention the best gear is always VERY expensive due to how many other lower stats there are.
Wow, whiners like some of the people here are responsible for the stupid nerfs. It’s easy to counter C&D if they’re perma invis, just time it and dodge→stun→burst.
Of course if it’s a good player then they’ll probably kill you or get away, but that will happen with any other class with someone who knows how to utilize it.
Was it explained where these things came from? & how many of you even visit that Southsun Cove?
Anet needs to put in more content for that place because there’s just nothing worthwhile to do there…
Time to display Ascendant and lie that I’m rank 80.
Glacial Blade, Draconic Aegis and Zodiac Weapons PLEASEEEEEEE
Assassin was my main in GW1 so going thief to start my GW2 adventure was a no-brainer. Doesn’t feel as fun as Assassin in GW1, I loved the combos and KD’s that Assassins were capable of. I mainly play D/D only because of my 2 Corrupted Shards that look kitten, but yeah, Thief is my main in GW2. Hopefully Anet doesn’t cater to the whiners further down the road though.
Make a team and own them then.

Well, when I first got this game which was around launch date, I experienced no noticeable lag in zerg vs zerg battles. Back then the zergs were much larger too, but now, I’ve been having these problems (stated in the OP) ever since, maybe, 5weeks ago?
Gah well that sucks, what am I supposed to use for damage now ?
Oh well, back to Warrior. I fricken hate condition builds on thieves.
Trait isn’t working properly, I run backstab and 3/10 of those didn’t crit. Anyone experiencing the same?
I’m still delayed in WvW when it’s only a 1v1, and by delayed I mean there’s a delay between the time I press a button and the time it takes for the skill to activate. Also, I can attack someone who is standing right infront of me and it just comes up with miss, miss, miss…
No easy answer to this. I could easily argue that the warrior is the most powerfully OP and the weakest at the same time. Bull Rush + 100blades = massively, ridiculously OP.
BUT! When that’s on cooldown = poop sandwich.
This is true! When a warrior pulls it off its like auto death haha. Outside of that they’re no problem
You realise you can use a stun-break right? or just dodge bulls rush, 100b Warriors are VERY easy to kill if that’s all they rely on.
Heartseeker already deals enough damage to compensate for the lack of damage from Deathblossom, also, it would be a pretty OP skill if it had poison, increased damage and CONSTANT evasion when activated.
Would that be better than the system that we have right now? What I mean is if you dedicate 10 trait points to a specific tree, say Power, then you’re able to choose any bonus you want that are available in the other trees like Precision or Vitality.
I say this because well I see some trait bonuses that don’t really suit the tree they’re in. Anyway, your thoughts? Would it work?
>implying you all wouldn’t take 200+ gold from the guild you barely know
Some of us have morals and aren’t kitten.
Why do we have to kill the same person twice? Nearly every 1v1 will result in 2 people throwing rocks at each other on the ground, and some professions have way better skills when they’re downed. (Warriors getting back up, seriously?)
That’s actually really covered up by mmo standards. Heck it even is by real life standards, I’ve seen girls with less clothes than that.
Now if that’s what you are actually complaining about that we need less clothes then I agreeThat’s saying something about MMOs in general, not that GW2 is better for it.
Real life standards suck. Why don’t we get searched and list items acquired before going through every Asura gate, eh? True to life, woo!
If you can’t keep your kitten in your pants and out of your head, go watch some prons. The sturdiest armor in the game shouldn’t look like kittening hooker gear. Appealing to horny teenagers < not degrading yourselves and your game.
If people want skin, keep it to town clothes. Y’know, the ones you wear when you’re not out being mauled by undead, dragons and undead dragons.
Sorry but you sound really pathetic, if you don’t like the armor because it’s skimpy DON’T wear it. I myself don’t like skimpy armors, but I don’t make a big fuss of it like spoiled little kid.
We’d only get Elonian faces and skin types when there’s a Elona expansion, it’s what they did with GW1. Every campaign had a different set of faces, hair & skin tone.
Uh go play GW1?
Culling has gotten even worse since they tried to fix it & whilst they tried to fix it they somehow screwed up the latency. I lag every single time I am in WvW now, even though at launch and a couple months after I was able to stand in zerg vs zerg fights with no lag at all.
When I saw the Dragon boss fights I couldn’t wait to participate in them because they looked so awesome and fun to fight. Then when I got to fight one it was incredibly…….boring and unsatisfying, especially considering the VERY VERY VERY crap loot you’d get after it.
I’m glad you actually get something for sitting through a boss fight that the only strategy you need to use is mash skill 1 in the right spot.
Why is there so much of it now? especially in WvW, I have situations where my skills won’t activate even though I pressed the corresponding key for it 4secs ago. I remember near launch and a couple months after I could stand in the middle of a 50+ zerg vs zerg and not suffer any lag.
Anyone else suffering the same problem?
Buy GW1 and get the HoM points then, those pets are gifts for GW1 vets and it will stay that way.
Stealth, which cloaks the players allowing them to avoid damage all together by taking advantage of other player’s inability to virtually see them.
Stealth =/= Invincible, AoE can still hurt them & players with experience pretty much know where people will try to retreat so you are still able to use attacks where you think they’ll be. Despite that though, I agree that all classes should be able to counter stealth without just luck.
13% still is meaningless.
wut? are you serious? 2 sigils of force can significantly bump up your damage, especially in berserker builds & that only gives 10%.
Hmmmm, don’t read it? I don’t care what people talk about in chats, If I don’t like it, I don’t read it. Pretty simple
ANet stated that Legendary weapons will always be top tier gear, so if they release Ascended Weapons (I hope that never happens) then they’ll bump up Legendary Weapon stats to match them.
Yeah it is OP, take out the regen, I’ll keep the condition removal.
I made my thief look unique, and now I see a LOT of people copying my style. It sucks.
What is it? I only see something I’ve always seen: a lot of people zerging a dragon event.
Nah I think the amount they got is good at the moment, but they really need to work on designing the armor specifically for races. Instead of taking the human version then stretching it to fit other races (or shrinking it in the case of Asura)
Legendary Weapons are priced around 1500g-2000g and they’re just a cosmetic skin as well.
No they are not “just cosmetic”. They will always be top tier statted, no matter what other gear is released. Anet stated catagorically that when gear is released that has better stats than a current legendary, said legendary will be bumped up in stats.
Thats value for its high cost, in that it will never be superseded, it is the pinnacle of gear stats.
Well at the moment it’s got exotic stats, therefore it’s just an expensive skin.
Legendary Weapons are priced around 1500g-2000g and they’re just a cosmetic skin as well.
It’s a conspiracy!
Anyway, I wouldn’t really know. But I do see threads getting closed and their reason isn’t even the main point of the thread.
Sorry I don’t like that idea. I shouldn’t be able to get an armor set from a dungeon I never ran.
Pretty much this.
Because even though they’re separate from PvE, PvE carebears will still find something to complain about. They ruin the game.
…quitting a game you don’t pay for monthly that has given you 10x any content that a single player game can offer is laughable.
That statement is laughable. 10x more content than any SP game can offer? Lulz, not only is it not true, but why are you comparing SP games to GW2…? GW2 cannot be played offline AFAIK.
I’m comparing it to a SP game because you don’t pay for it monthly, unlike most MMO’s. Name one SP game that can even come close. You can’t do it. Try again.
Well I’ve had more fun with SP games like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden and stuff, but GW2 has held my attention for much longer. Still, I love my action games.
I think that you should’ve looked at one of the many threads there are about this topic and contribute there instead of spamming the forum with even more topics about this.
This.
Plus, get ready for a lot of people dismissing this suggestion for no good reason.
You don’t want a PvE map, you don’t want WvW because it has too many people in groups. You want to create a PvP map out of all the PvE maps. Why do you think they created WvW? If it is not pvp enough there are games like Rift, Alloids, WoW so no lack of choice. Since as has been posted these shards are hugely popular there will be no problems for you to find the competition you desire. You can also /sigh in chat all you want and get lots of attention.
I play Gw2 because it isn’t all about grinding, and end tier gear isn’t so time consuming to obtain. If there were a game that had the same mechanics as Gw2, same horizontal (mostly) progression and open world PvP then I would gladly buy that game until Gw2 released an expansion or until new content is added. Anyway, it isn’t like we dislike WvW. I love it, it’s the closest thing to open world pvp in this game. But it gets old REALLY fast, if we were able to take PvP to PvE maps, think of all the variety.
Maybe you should open up your mind a little bit.
I just dont understand why you just ignore wvw. All the aspects of open world pvp are there. There is always toons runnin around solo trying to get map completion that you can gank. Why have seperate servers when they made wvw for this type of player.
It’s not for ganking and I have spent 80% of my time in WvW ever since I’ve gotten level80. Playing on the same map is boring, playing against the same servers is boring, zerg vs zerg is boring. WvW has low rewards, minimal satisfaction from kills and is REALLY repetitive when you play the same map with the same servers every single week.
What’s wrong with having more options?
I seriously do not understand why a lot of players HATE the idea of dueling or open PvP, and don’t compare WvW to Open PvP because they are NOT the same.
See, it works both ways, I do not understand why a lot of people like the idea of open PvP, it’s meaningless ganking/griefing, nothing more, nothing less.
Not in this case, because with guesting available it is optional whether or not you want to be on an open PvP server. Along with the bonus of leaving it anytime you want, don’t want to put up with it? Then don’t, you don’t have to.
Well, I miss world pvp badly, lovely ganking and griefing, what can be better?
And that’s exactly the reason it will never, ever, be implemented.
Having guesting available, you are not required to go to an Open PvP server, so why can’t this be considered?
I seriously do not understand why a lot of players HATE the idea of dueling or open PvP, and don’t compare WvW to Open PvP because they are NOT the same.
