But man if any other class watch this, they will think we are onyl a 3 button bursting machine.
Nearly every fight you only stand still, pull someone and combo them. You can’t go simplier then that. You even pre target some of your combo, because your enemy is ether not aware you are there or they are kitten
I wish we could see more real fight, better fight then just combo’ing someone by surprise.

Also, he has the orb buff when the orb were still active.
He was all exotic + legendary weapon, at that time there were a lot less people fully geared in exotic and gear advantage was even more dominant.

If you have a hard time with the combo itself, go into the myst and practice on the golems.
I’m not a really precise type of guy, so I had issue with the combo early on (still missing too much for my taste).
So I went in the myst and kept using it on golem. Each time I wait for a paid tpvp, I go and practice it on the golems.
Overall the practic really helped me a lot for the timing and the precision. Especially since I’m using fast cast ground target and it can be harder to land that way.
Now I’m so used to throw it that I don’t even have to think, it’s automatic.
Thank you. The problem is more that I am strong as long I dominate the fight. But I am weak if I have to react.
For example against a thief. If they start from stealth or with stealing I am lost. Press my Elixir S but they already did some damage to me and I can’t counter it.
Same for warrior. One mistake or Elixir S not up. I got root and 100blades and I am done.
The net miss a lot of times is also a problem for me.
About being bursted :
It can be hard to recover, but I usually do the following again theif and warrior 100b:
Elixir S if stunned
Switch to heal kit while under elixir S effect, heal for 2-3k. Switch to toolkit as soon as elixir S is finishing. Use gear shield.
Switching to toolkit will proc nails on the ground, slowing your ennemy, can be useful to make some space. Bad thief will also initiative dump everything on the shield.
When gear shield is finish, ether turn around and overcharge shot them, or use cancel jump shot to create even more space.
Another option after the gear shield. Thief/Warrior that chass low hp enemy tend to be overconfident. They get lazy.
So if they are close behind you, roll back. You should be behind them. Net shot, and combo them.
You just turned the fight in your favor, and maybe you killed them.
I use this a lot, people really get sloppy when they think they already won. Especially heartseeker thief who dump all their intiative right away.
Netshot is hard to land, but since I listenent to five gauge and started using it in close range, it’s a lot better. You can’t use it a 900 range, most people will dodge it. And be patient, I don’t use it right away because people expect it, and have full endurance to roll.

Culling is no result from computer performance.
I got a top level gaming computer, and I still get horrible culling, but no “physical lag”.
Might be about proximity from server? or the connexion itself?

I agree, our best kit.
Grenade
I would hate to see this change happen. It would completly change grenade mecanism. Yes it can be use at longe range, but only again stationnary target. Mortar should be buffed, not nerf grenade. And reducing the amount of grenade thrown would destroy the sinergy between grenade and on proc effect like 15% bleed of shrapnell or incendiary powder. Also, Freeze grenade is our best grenade in the kit, and you want to remove it for smoke? You need the slow to be able to land your others grenade, and to escape. Removing it would be a huge lose. We already have a blind anyway!
Bomb
I agree the damage could be upped a bit, because of the skill you need to land them in melee. But don’t forget they have a big aoe, so you can’t buff them too much. Also, they are already efficient with conditions build. I doubt they would put 2 movement control really smiliar on the same kit.A lot of people use the smoke combo to become invis, don’t think they want to lose it.
Elixir Gun
I fail to see how you came to this conclusion? Bleed + weakness is good to hide other condition, how is that a bad thing? the #4 is awesome for raw damage on static or downed oponent. #2 need some debug, it’s slow moving, buggy and weird. #3 condition removal is too situational. It should double the vuln output. It combo well with #4.

Not much to say, I agree for most. Incendiary ammo is still a good toolbelt on power build, the burn still hit hard without any condition damage. I used it in a 100nade build and it was really efficient with the perma burn.

With a 100nade build in WvW, I actually sacrifice Elixir S (my only CC breaker) for Slick shoes only for is super escape abilities.
You can escape most class with the two skills it provides.
Super speed : It doesn’t double your speed. It only max your speed. But still, I’M not sure why, But I seems to outrun most player that chase me, not by much, but still. It also ignore any kind of cripple/chill.
Slick Shoes skill : The skill is amazing. Offensive use : Run in circle in a team fight, you will knockdown everyone for a long time, and you can knock them down twice. Perfect to set up your 100nade combo. When getting zerged, activate it and you will see a bunch of ennemy fall on their kitten behind you.
But I think you are right about something. I think it’s a big buggy, sometime it doesn’t to work really well.

Why do ‘dedicated’ tpvpers need gold?
if you want to have 13 slots like i do and get the skins they add on events you need gold=gems to buy them.
That’s all PvE stuff.
Why on earth would you need 13? I whipped out my card to buy up to 8 slots. That gives me one of each class in my stable.
Point is, none of that is something a pvper needs to compete. Keep pvp and pve/wvw seperate.
And people thinking like you are sadly one of the reason why the sPvP communty will stay really small.
If you want more sPvP population, you need more thing to attract player.
PVE items/gold is one way to do it.
Not everyone is a hardcore tPvP player. Not everyone only play tPvP.
I do both paid tPvP and WvW, and when I’m tPvPing I feel like I’m lacking any kind of reward, while in WvW I get random loots and gold for my effort.

I didn’t try it myself, but since you already have swiftness on heal/Elixir B with increased duration, I don’t think losing speedy kit would hurt your mobility that much, and I really wonder how a 25 might stack “100nade combo” could hit for!

Even with the top gear, some player still are at “new player” level. Gear has nothing to do with your personal skills.
Your previous post have been in player help about map completion 11 days ago. I doubt you have as much experience as you think.
I do as much damage as other class with my engi, I have no idea what you are talking about.

With stability, even if you are far from the target, you still can land it before they get up. When I fight a players that are bit slow, I can even try to jump shot + combo them before they react.

Well If you want to use it during a figh, you can’t do it without setup.
1- Net short → Jump shot
2- Stability overcharged shot → Jumpshot
3- Supply crate → Jumpshot
4- People rezzing an ennemy? Come form behind → Jumpshot → 100nade combo
5- downed player → Jumpshot.
Without setup, it’s so annoying to land it on someone. But if you land it both the jump and the stomp, it’s hurt a looot.

Necros hardly ever take the Plague Signet anymore. Without condi-removal of your own though, I could see this being a very harsh counter. They of course always seem to have the offhand dagger transfer and heal that wipes their conditions.
Ranger’s Empathic Bond is extremely strong, but you can still do damage through it by timing Blowtorch/Geomancy/Shrapnel Nades after it passively cleanses things.
In both those situations the advantage is not in our favor, but it’s not completely bleak. We have a good chance and it’d take someone of similar or higher skill (skill being a compilation of reflexes, knowledge, and decision making) to beat us. With a single kit and dual pistols we can apply an incredible plethora of conditions and most of them are on very short cooldowns. After condition removal we can reapply our most deadly conditions quickly.
Which armor set are you going for? Might give it a try in WvW tonight.

I tried the same thing then you in sPvP. Nearly made a post about it
Didn’t tried it in WvW, but in sPvP I found it to be subpart to the direct damage build. I was relying too much on the 15% bleed of shrapnel to proc.
Did you use rifle or dual pistol? I used it with dual pistol, and it was a lot harder to set up the combo. I missed my rifle
I still think it’s a really efficient build! But even in WvW i’m not sure about it.
Especially since I always felt like conditions build suffered more then direct damage. If you go direct damage, any class will take the damage. If you go condition, you’ll hit BM Ranger that pet eat your conditions, you’ll fight condition necro thats will transfer everything back at you and heal with your cond. So many conditions removal.
I might try it again in WvW just to be a bit different. Just to have some fun. Tho I need to gear myself up for it. Do you use rampager, rabid or carrion?

I wasn’t asking for more dodge or anything, I was surprise anyone would say Engineer are more evasive then Ranger, the “Dodge” class.
And some have it worse then other about traits.
Over all the class I tried (all of them), engineer seems to be the only one I will take the same traits for many builds because we have too many bads traits.
Take the inventor line, if you aren’t in turret, you’re left with 2-3 useful traits in the line.

Because the ranger, unlike the engineer, is supposed to share in the extremely high amount of evasion that is the thief, the engineer, unlike both the ranger AND the thief, does not evade attacks but simply shrugs them off.
If you haven’t noticed we have 2 traits that’ll apply protections pretty liberally AND we can get perms vigor by either swapping kits, or just from critting, making us a LOT more evasive than a ranger could even dream of being if we have the tool tree maxed out as well, because, you know, we get 10% of our endurance bar back with each tool belt skill use.
How does it make us more evasive then Ranger?
Right now in tPvP bunker ranger are prolly one of the best bunker classe because of dodge, damage mitigation and pet.
Ranger can get perma vigor, perma protection and perma regen without even trying.
Engineer have perma vigor, limited protection and few source of regen.
Also, if we spec into bunker, we lose all our damage.
Ranger pets aren’t affected by stats, so they can still do 4k crit damage in full bunker.
They also have sword, which have 2 dodge in the weapon skill.
I fail to see how Ranger could only dream to be as evasive as us?
On trhe topic, yep some of our traits are weirdly weaker then other class. Not sure of the reason.

i`m going to be the downer here and go ahead and say any heal given to medkit with kit refinement is going to be op.
i think that is the reason why it doesn`t have one now, medkit atm is borderline op ,kit refinement heal will push it to be full on op.
i do agree the explosion is silly I’d say 3s protection on a 15/20s cd will be great for the trait effect.
In my opinion, 3 second of protection over 15/20 second would even stronger.
I would love to have that. :P

Once you learn our pattern, you can usually counter us pretty hard if our bait CC don’t work.

Yesterday in BP/NSP borderland it was really hard to find a small group to fight solo.
I tried to One-man a NSP zerg in NSP borderland (I only remember QCx guild) but they had too many thief so I couldn’t hit and run them. I had the time to down one before the massive culling zerg walked over my body. I died a lot during these fight, congrat beause I can usually escape more easily, but you guys were good chaser!
Went to BP borderland aftert that, good fight with the FAM (nor sure if i spell it right) Guild! Had some good and not so good duel (I thought they were letting me duel their elem, but then they attacked me once they saw their Elem was losing, thanks for letting me fight him a bit tho!). You had some good player!
I’m sad about PAXA tho! I started a fight with one of your thief, only to have the rest of your group come end our duel! I had to run and hie behind a house, it usually never work except this time you let me run away. I whisper Jcull to send his thief back, but he never wanted to duel me

I would be happy to get another condition removal.
But at the same time, I don’t know if Anet would like it to be “another” condition removal on a single trait. That would be 3 removal for a 10 points trait.
That’s why I suggested maybe a regen or a burst aoe heal.
Since I’m already using Flock rune that heal on swaping to this kit, thats would be kinda cool for subtained regen.

Well, the issue with relying on Speedy Kits for Swiftness in combat is that its duration is the same as its ICD, and so without a decent amount of Boon Duration or perfect timing you’ll occasionally get dropped down to regular speed, which has the potential to end badly, while Power Shoes guarantees you a good bonus all the time in combat.
Point is, Power Shoes isn’t quite outclassed by Speedy Kits because of its limitations. And vice versa.Or you could just use medkit’s Drop Stimulant and avoid putting 20 points in an awful trait line.
Yep, even without any boon duration, if you use drop stimulant at the beginning of a fight (like you should), you’ll never be out of swiftness during the fight, since it stack in duration.
I never see myself without the swiftness boon, and I have a mininal 10% more duration on boon.
Also, it works out of combat, unlike power shoes.

The wiki doesn’t appear to list anything that would indicate a condition removal at all on the Flamethrower Kit Refinement.

I hear you on this man, funnyest thing ever.
The thing about 100nade roaming is, I don’t see this build fighting 3-4 opponent at the same time like a good mesmer/DDElem/Thief can do. I have some issue fighting more then 2 oponent at the same time.
I think we are more a hit and run build type. I go in invis, burst one down, finish him with elixir s, then run away. Rince and repeat, and like Choops said, try to bait them in chasing you, just to turn back and destroy them.
Zerg usually don’t communicate too well, you can kill slower player or overextended player.
I thought I was alone abusive that, I’m happy to learn I’m not.

I get at least one message a day saying to play “something that require skill” or random insult.
In WvW I get the same treatement, the ennemy invite me in a group and try to convince me I’m using a newb build.
Then I have to explain them that versus good players, I have to use 20+ different skill during the fight, that I have more skills rotation then an Elementalist. Also half my skill are skill shot.

If people are zerging in hotjoin, just wait until they are finishing someone or rezing.
Usually, they all want to finish the ennemy, so they all get in a bunch, 3-4 of them immobile.
You come from behind, jump shot and combo them.
I used it a lot in sPvP/WvW, especially once in WvW. I downed 3 players at the same time, man it was great. Sadly, the rest of the zerg came and finished me. But I’m sure they were going crazy in their chat.

Well I find it really odd too, like they were out of idea and just went with a random explosion.
I don’t think we should have a remove condition on healing kit, for the simple reason that we already have two on EG and FT refinement effect.
Maybe a small heal, or a regeneration. Could also be an AoE blind with an ICD, or Aoe weakness. Something useful when switching to healing kit.

That won’t be an issue man.
But be ready to die quit a bit Hunting the zerg is a difficult task when culling is involved. And I like to try suididal run to kill1-2 of them, just to show them I can kill them even if they are hidden in their 20 man team.
And trust me, you will become a pro 100 nade really fast, when you fight undernumbered! (not that I’m pro, but you will get better)

Are you sure about stacked effect under cripple? Never been aware of that.
And It depend of your style, but other then Elixir build, I find myself switching kit every 2-3 sec. Add to this the speed buff from medic kit #5, and you have perma swiftness during fight.
Not sure being a bit faster when crippled is worth the trait.
I would personally take 3 sec of protection on critical hit. This skill is really good again burst class, and only on a 20 second ICD.

Been a long time since I fought a Wild Bill wanna be using a 3 button build.
Those pistol/dagger are so annoying, and there is a reason why they are only efficient in WvW : Culling.
With culling, dodge the cloak n dagger is a lot harder, and even if I dodge it twice (so they can’t do it again) they still have healing and shadow refuge to escape.
Fighting them is annoying and not fun, So I prefer those DD Thief that die in 2 hit.

Yep, Mesmer can be easier if you load up conditions on them. But Sadly I’m direct damage. Culling is also working in their favor.
And Yes, thief go ubber glassy in WvW, and many of them are so terrible, spamming heartseeker until they are out of initiative. Even if I have my shield up. Come on man! :P
Some guardian are really scary in WvW tho. I don’t see dps guardian often in sPvP asthey usually go bunker. But in WvW they can dish a good amount of damage and still have good defensive cooldown. Pro guardian give me a fair fight I love it!

Ahaha I’m a zerg hunter and I giggle each time I can bait some people to overextend from their zerg, chasing me like I’m their pray.
Only to find that they are now alone, away from their zerg. And I’m now invis, slowly walking inside their body and one shotting them. that sounded dirty.
That’s the pleasure of being a 100nade engineer.
For me, Mesmer are the one that frustrat me to more. Thief I don’t really mind, they usually can’t one shot me because I slotted elixir S at 25% hp especially for them. And they usually just heartseaker spam right into my 100nade combo, poor them.
But Mesmer, a pro mesmer is just so slippy. I can’t pin them down. I have to bait them so many time, they have a never ending supply of escape mecanism. And Confusion not being nerfed like in sPvP is a pain!

Or else We could get a 58% bonus movement speed in combat and it would be crazy good.
Swftiness only stack in duration, and only the highest movement modifier is taken in account (33% swift over 25% from traits).

I remember you from the necromancer forum, you were always defending the MM builds.
Now about your question, like others said it depends of your style.
Are you going to use your grenade to combo people like a 100 build? If yes kit refinement can be useful.
Otherwise, take speedy kit over kit refinement. With out the combo, the grenade refinement isn’t really useful. And the bomb kit refinement is rather weaks.
If you go for speedy kit, don’t take power shoes, as you will prolly have perma swiftness in combat so the 25% rune speed is useless as it doesn’t stack.
