I don’t hate it but I don’t have much reason to go there either besides Omnomberries and Orrian Truffle. Even those two aren’t much of a draw since I don’t really use food.
As for the issues mentioned I don’t share the sentiment. Most of my time in Orr is with my warrior and thief. It used to be extremely annoying when the Risen would play pinball with your character but I haven’t experienced that in months.
Recreating that in PvE would mean mixing Berserker and Valkyrie gear.
Not sure about the others but bounty tier 1 has a limit of 10. I assume the other tiers will have the same limit.
The “+X% ____ for Y hours” type buffs have a limit of 1. In order to build one you have to activate the one you’ve already built.
Mechanically it is much closer to the SE story boss and a few others than lupicus.
They’d just Mist Form out of it.
Fine, fine: Singularity. I’ve seen Mist Form and I’ve seen RtL, neither move faster than light. Have them stuck in combat with Cthulhu for good measure so that they can’t waypoint, oh and overflow so that they can’t enter WvW.
Did I miss anything?
Being in overflow doesn’t stop you from entering WvW, you just have to guess a bit about which of the Unknown Borderlands is the one you want to enter.
It tracks whatever you have checked. If you have nothing checked and you HAVEN’T finish the daily yet then it should show the the daily. If you HAVE finished the daily it should show the monthly. Finished as in 5/5.
My conclusion from having used scepter as my primary Guardian weapon (yes, I know, I’m not a legit G in the minds of “good G” players):
It’s not a bug, anymore than any non-homing ranged projectile attack is a bug. The game is leading the shot, so when a shot launches it determines the proper angle based on the target’s movement and speed at the moment the projectile is launched and sends it where the calculations determine the target will be in order to intercept them. This assumes the target moves in a straight line and at a consistent pace. I see this with all “slow” (as opposed to fast, as with bullets) projectiles such as arrows, fireballs, etc. It’s more noticeable with scepter because the projectiles are fairly slow despite having been sped up in a previous patch.
Your video is a good example of the issue, but as I said, you can do the same thing with other projectiles using the same “test.” You just have to adjust for the relative speed of the projectile by increasing distance between the weapon and the juking Asura.
The obvious solution is implementing first person view so you can do proper manual aiming!
You missed something. Did you go through some part of it without using the rainbow? IIRC all the spots for triggering the achievement are along the path. Also following the pointing finger icons. Some points are triggered near those too(the ones that only show up in Infantile mode).
lots of vets in mount maelstrom including 3 vet mosshearts in a small area together down in the south west
There are six near Oxbow and right now there are also 6 chests that spawn nearby.
I don’t disagree that the drop rate is painfully too low.
But you don’t get two ascended accessories in a month from bounties. At best case you get 2 commendations per week, thats only 8 per month. You would need 1.5 months per accessory, or 3 months to get both from that. Unless you have multiple guilds doing bounties, and that system still lets you get commendations from each guild.
Depends on the guild. Some should be getting 3 per week now and it should increase as more mission types are unlocked.
Choose your server wisely. Your account will be bound to it unless you pay. I cannot tell you which one to choose as I don’t know your interests or your region nor have I experienced most of the servers beforehand. (It is not a horrible thing if you end in a server you don’t like anymore. You can play on any of the same region’s servers. It is called guesting. Only WvWvW is excluded.)
Well that is not as big of an issue with a new account since you can transfer for free if the account has no characters but there is still the 7 day waiting period between transfers.
Where did this 1000 laurels thing come from? There is no conspiracy.
I’ve had my bad math moments, so I suggest to anyone confused to look up at my previous post in this thread to see how it was possible to get the cat tonic.
And I have a Legendary, that I worked on, every day, for 3 months.
You want these things, try playing the game.
Beer goggles?
If one’s vision is sufficiently blurred then an arbitrary number of 0s can be added!
As for the tonic thing there was apparently a bug with the March monthly that gave laurels for both PvP and PvE instead of being mutually exclusive.
You should not be making a bee line from heart to heart. There are usually events and stuff to kill in between.
Alternatively you could just clear all the 1-15 zones first. That will pretty much leave you ahead in levels forever(unless you later decide to simply run through some zones without fighting anything).
This is the first I’ve heard of this thing, today when I come to check the forums. Been playing the game every day for the past month. How was I supposed to find out about a special event like this?
There was an in game mail directing you to Rata Sum and this only became available today.
The level requirement of the piece of gear must be equal or greater than the level requirement of the upgrade item and adorned jewels only work on trinkets.
I just solo’ed World1 then it got tougher and I had no more time to play. Not that I don’t want to play with a group but I enjoy figuring things out without all the pressure. Then I’ll join with a group.
It was fun and I really suck at jumping puzzles. I didn’t know there was a non-jumping version.
The non-jumping version only seems to let you get through the levels. You still need to do possibly tricky jumps to get all the secrets.
Also: I HATE SPIDERS! >:(
Other than the utility skills the other skill slots can’t be moved. You COULD remap the keys.
I’m not big fan of jumping puzles but it’s kinda ok. On the other hand, I would rather see all this effort put into improving/enchancing/adding stuff to PvP.
This was probably mostly Josh Foreman’s doing and possibly some of the other map makers. Unless what you are looking for is just “piles of maps for PvP” then there isn’t much overlap. From one of his posts, it sounds like he wasn’t very good at the sPvP aspect of the game either.
A particular dev’s skills do not necessarily translate well to every single part of the game.
I consider it a design flaw. Scams are easy to avoid. I have suggested an additional confirmation window to trades in many others games to avoid quick switching items/values; no one has implemented it. A read-only confirmation window summarizing the trade would eliminate that completely.
Scams cannot be eliminated completely, because they rely on lack of knowledge of the victim. No mechanical limits will absolutely eliminate scams. Just think of how many people, when closing unsaved documents, quickly press “yes I want to close without saving” without thinking and regretting it later?
… or search the forum for the number of people who have ignored the warning message when applying upgrades to items!
You need to use a Fine Transmutation Stone if either of the items is lv80.
Database-wise, it should be a relatively easy fix to implement, with the only slightly-challenging part being to update the entries for the existing transmuted items, hence I’m kind of baffled why they haven’t done it yet.
Unless:
a) The initial entries were poorly structured.
b) It’s intended to be like this (aka don’t transmute).P.S. – would be nice if a rep could actually clarify whether it’s just intended to be like this, or a fix is being at least “considered”.
Already covered in the bugs forum https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Transmuting-Legendary-Exotic-Merged/page/4#post1718798
As for your suggested “fix”, that isn’t likely to work if you take a look at how transmuted items show up in the MF. Put a masterwork skin on a fine item then try to forge that with 3 other masterwork items and it should be fairly obvious what the problem is.
You do not need the crystal to get the SP. The SP is outside the first(already opened) door.
There are other Bags which includes them as possible results. From bandits in Harathi Hinterlands and dredges in Gendarran Fields. Getting gold and buying from TP is probably the most effective method.
If there is anything you HAVE to do it’s doing things other than just the story to keep up with the level requirements. Map completion certain CAN help with leveling crafting assuming you want to max all 8. If you just want to level one or two then the map completion may end up completely useless.
Running around just completely the hearts and killing the stuff to fill the hearts(usually the fastest way to fill a heart).
You have to activate him and then kite him until everyone shows up. It’s best to have a group of people ready to fight him the second he is found.
That would be great, I’d like that. But the real problem is that we did have a group ready to fight him as soon as he was found and yet by the time they arrived he was already gone. Yes, next time we will engage him as soon as he’s found, but this isn’t a good mechanic. I definitely understand A-Net wanting to discourage the pre-hunts, but we do have to get a group to him once we find him after the bounty is active.
Starting immediately would also eat into the time limit you have for killing him…
The brew shipment event does not need to be completed. It DOES need to be started. Once the shipment has gotten a certain distance(the WP is good enough) away from the abbey then the pre-event can start.
Ok guys. I’ll attempt the math when I get a chance to see if i should even try but first I have some questions. Which race and class should I attempt this out of ele, engi, or warrior? Also is it possible to get all skill points without killing any mobs and just being close when they are defeated. Still stuck at work:-(
You have to at least tag the mob with some sort of attack or get hit but the mob but getting hit has the same result. Skill points that require communing are usually guarded by a veteran. To avoid combat in those case you have bring someone else to clear things for you or be either a thief(stealth) or guardian(aegis). If you are going the stealth route then Norn might be ideal since one of the elites can give you more stealth.
You would also have to avoid getting hit by anything. I haven’t tested this but if YOU get tagged by a mob and then later someone else comes along and kill it you might still get exp from it.
You can avoid getting exp from an event if you accidentally participate in one by logging out before it finish. However, if you run through an event and some how acquire enough participation credit for it you will get exp from it no matter how far you are. Participation credit also persist through logins, as long as you are on the map when an event finally finish and you had enough participation credit you will get the reward.
You can actually still free transfer to some servers until April 1st. The removal of free transfers was done to stabilize the wildly fluctuating population caused by people leaving their server as soon as it started doing “poorly” and jumping to one that was doing well. So basically you’re asking for the population to remain stable but for you yourself to be able to transfer to a server that’s currently doing well. That’s impossible.
That is only to medium size server.
On the other hand if you delete all your characters transfer is free to any server and that is not just until April 1st either(still once every 7 days).
More people buying them to upgrade siege blueprints? That would only make sense if mithril ore has gone up as well.
I was thinking of trying it just so I could get a cat.
You can get one with 75 laurels.
That guard shouldn’t be there as long as you’ve done that part on any character. Unless you activate the recap of course but I assume you aren’t doing that.
Not sure how far you have to go beyond watching the cutscene.
I’ve gotten that POI around 7 times now. I don’t recall running into any guard. That aside the new Living Story thing ALSO has a part that takes place there and there is definitely no guard there either.
…actually I’ve just ran over there now. My human warrior is currently dancing on the war council’s table.
Are you at the correct location? The War Council POI is inside The Command Core instance. While you are there make sure you grab the Iron Tribune Quarters POI as well.
It isn’t a bug that they become bound. The bug is in not changing the display. Any upgrades applied will make an item bound. They are account bound until you equip them.
The popup that comes up every time you apply an upgrade DOES warn you about making the item soulbound.
Melandru temple when the event is active.
Haven’t done that path since the changes(I don’t run dungeons very often) but if they have removed the charge then the reason seems pretty obvious. The dungeon was not designed with that sort of mob, the buff to the encounter was an unintended side effect of changes for other parts of the game.
On the other hand it should not have a horribly fast charge unless you have people who fail at dodging the very slow frenzy building attack or you have a party member trying to grief people by purposely getting hit.
its amazing how long it takes players to get past the bomb run
You’ll be surprise to see how long it takes some players to get past the flaming boulders on P1. I take any that join my party but it annoys me when they can’t get past that part after the 10+ times, lol. Problem with running with inexperienced PUGs vs experienced players, saves alot of time.
That doesn’t seem very surprising with the way the boulders get out of sync when people mess up which means it becomes more and more difficult with every failed attempt.
Graphics is still okay. Trying to play both at the same time gets confusing because of the differences in the combat system.
i was able to get into the forsaken JP portion, whee i died shortly after. it now shows as Forsaken Halls on my map, but i am still 174/175. i was at 173, but i did find the “coil” place in the lowest right corner below the grawl cave.
i am still stuck at 174 now for 3 days, rechecking maps and various forum sites looking for the answer. i already have 100% map completion.
How about the tiny bit below Forsaken Hall? Ulluk’s Hunger?
I’ve seen challenges, treks and puzzles unlocked already.. dunno how much from them though.
Unless there is a bug somewhere nobody has enough merits to unlock challenges or puzzle yet because of the weekly cap on merits.
Lake Adorea in Plains of Ashford is pretty good for that. Low level and decent mob density.
For spear I would go with guardian.
For trident I would go with mesmer or necromancer.
For speargun either thief or engineer.
However, since it is a low level area it doesn’t really matter. Guardian for spear is simply because skill 1 has longer range.
The lake on the west side of Diessa Plateau is also pretty nice due to scaling. Although that might not be the whole lake.

You can just drag it by the right edge. The black part that appears when you hover your mouse over the minimap.
I have two lv80 ele. One is a sylvari evenly balanced between damage, survival and support. The other is a norn who is all glass, there is not a single thing on her that isn’t for damage. :p
I wouldn’t have done it if they were going to end up the same.
@Khisanth I was holding control while looking at every bit of the map.
I have found that holding control for searching objects in general to be pretty bad, not just Sotzz’s barrels. If you are holding control and turning, the objects that come into view do not always show up. What this means is that for best result you have to spam your control key.
Also make sure you check all the caves. There are at least seven on the map. Nine if you include the mini dungeon and jumping puzzle but there should be no barrels in those two because that would be a <insert your favorite expletive> move by the devs.
Edit: since I am still mapping out their locations. It turns out control is COMPLETELY USELESS for seeing the barrels. You have run close enough to see one.
Maybe a picture would better explain what I mean. The picture on the right side is just 1 step forward from the left side. This is without touching control. It seems like the best way to search for barrels is to constantly sweep your mouse over the screen.
The current timer means a sufficiently malicious or simply ignorant or “overly helpful” person can simply run around the map smashing all the barrels. This can easily force the bounty to fail for any guild attempting to do it.
The malicious person can simply remain silent while the other two can report the location. However even if the location is reported, it is not likely anyone from the relevant guild will get there in time given communication overhead.

Glad to hear the locking change wasn’t accidental, though I must admit that it makes things marginally more difficult.
I posted in the other thread, but I think the 1 minute reset time for Sotzz is very punishing. It’s not enough time for a guild to link it in guild chat and for everyone to load in before he resets. I think he should reset after something like 10 minutes, instead.
A more preferable alternative, in my opinion, would be to make him more like Alder “Wildman”, which is to say you would be able to tell which barrel he’s in without destroying it (and thus activating his reset timer). In this way, you could still bring people together before activating the boss and risking him resetting.
Sotzz’s despawn timer is NOT 1 minute. It is less, exactly how much less I don’t know.
I just did this right now. I smashed open a barrel after it was already 5:26, he despawned before 5:27. It wasn’t my guild doing the bounty so I couldn’t activate. It doesn’t have to be 10 minutes but currently it seems like Sotzz despawns after 30 seconds.
If my guild WAS doing it then it would have sucked if it despawned just because I didn’t want to solo him.
The fact that the barrels have a point blank render distance seems over the top but I don’t know if that part is new.
So Sottz is bugged on Aurora Glade right? Was looking for him for about 3 hours without even spotting a single barrel…
You might be missing them because they are extremely hard to see. The labels show up before the barrel and there are a million other barrel shaped things on that map when viewed from a distance.

I can confirm, this has been happening to me. Not only that, I’ve also found that my character sometimes gets stuck for example.
If I’m running and stop and then start running again with the W key my character doesn’t move for about a second. Like it’s stuck. A similar issue a while ago with jumping if anyone remembers? Your character got stuck just as you were about to jump and then you’d fall? Yeah this needs addressing quickly because if you’re in sPvP or W3 then it’s pretty much insta death.. Please have a look into this devs.
I think that is actually two separate bugs.
One bug will cause you to be stuck in place until you logout or use a movement skill
The other bug seems like an error in the animation code causing you to stop moving until the game cycles through a bunch of default/fallback poses.
If you are seeing red and yellow names that is the “Show All Enemy Names” setting, one line above “Show All NPC Names”.
It is possible you are talking about something else but in this case a picture is definitely worth more than a thousand words.
Right now I am in Gendarran Fields looking at a GS warrior in the fighting a wasp in the distance. They are not close enough for me to see their name or HP bar, not even if I hover over them.
Screen resolution would be the biggest factor for you. Normally those popups would be moved to either the top half or bottom half of your screen depending on which would show more but in your case that wouldn’t make any difference. The other factor is your interface size.
That is how it is supposed to work.
From the patch notes.
Daily and monthly laurels can be obtained through either PvP or PvE achievements. You cannot earn additional laurels from doing both, players can simply chose to do one or the other. They will still receive all other normal daily/monthly rewards should they chose to do both PvE and PvP achievements.
