I wouldn’t use Lyssa, since in wvw some boon pop are only 5s instead of 10 and condition duration isn’t needed.
hello Charak.9761,
rune of lyssa is very important… maybe in wvw some boon lasts only for 5sec (instead of 10) but you still need the simply “boon” to get the bonus and health… and rune of lyssa give you like 8 boons so you can easily get a nice advantage (8 boons are always 8 boons) and 600-700 hp istant recovery which isnt an huge ammount but still better of nothing especially if you consider the “boon itself”
20%condition duration is also important for 2 reason:
you can keep up for 1 more sec burning (which is another tick) and get a longer condition duration when you put your condition on enemy through rune of generosity
thant all thank you for participation and let me know if there is something of wrong with the build ^^
maybe i’m wrong but you can get up to 70% burning duration… which mean at least 1 or 2 seconds and, so, 1-2 more ticks… not bad at all….
New Altruistic Healing Build
-update 8 july-
Definitive Build (may not match the description below)
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/guardian/?3.0|1.1g.h1|c.1g.h1.d.1g.h4|1g.a7.1g.a7.1c.a7.1g.a1.1g.9c.1g.a7|2s.d1e.2s.0.3s.0.3s.0.2s.d1e.2s.d1e|0.5.u54b.u28b.5|39.1|w.17.18.19.1i|e
Equipment structure:
the new equip is formed by a mix of Soldier, Knight and Berserker pieces and will grant you high survivability and very high damage (not as a full berserker one but with 102% crit damage multiplier you will easily see great numbers)
The most important change, from previous version, is the sightly reduced precision and thougness and the greatly improved damage, crit multiplier and hp.
Anyway, the reduced precision isn’t a real problem because you can always use food to improve it and get other advantages. For this reason i might suggest you to use as food:
-> Bowl of Curry Butternut Squash Soup
for 100 more precision (about 5% crit chance) and 10% increased crit damage.
->Superior Sharpening Stone
for extra increased damage (for 143 more power)
Weapon sets and description
Greatsword:
Main source of DPS especially in aoe fights, so basically use it to start every fight unless you need a more defensive approach.
Sword/Focus:
Very strong set if you need to reach enemy and a the same tme to hit them hard (mainly with #3 and #5) and remember to use this set always during a fight end to get you stack of perception for extra precision
Some good actions (in progress) :
Massive damage burst
1) use save yourselves for extra crit chance and damage
2) use Focus 5# then switch to GS
3) activate VoJ
4) leap to enemy with GS 3#
5) GS #2
now if you are quicker you can add, before point 5:
4.5) use GS 5# for extra damage
6) if enemy run away pull them to you
Might spam (tested) :
1) use VoC for aegis and protection (you need to mitigate damage…)
2) run inside a zerg
3) attract enemy attention by using GS 5# and/or GS 2#
4) when a lot of enemy are attacking you use shelter
5) you get a ton of might stacks (depending on how many enemies are attacking you)
6) switch to S/F then use Focus 5#
7) fastly use Renewed Focus to avoid enemy attacks
8) let your shield explode for massive aoe damage (about 3k without might stacks)
Full heal:
there are a lot of methods basically dependends from AH
1) use shelter while under massive attack (you get might and hp as well)
2) use save youselves (1300 base hp + regeneration) followed by another shout to remove incoming conditions (if you are inside a zerg for exemple) and get more boons and heals
3) use VoJ, VoC and VoR near more allies you can then use Renewed Focus and use again VoJ, VoC and VoR. You will gain 1100hp per allies near you + 1100hp + 2xhealth from VoR + 10 sec of regeneration
-> i’m looking for more combos… if you know please tell me and i will add them.
Other sets:
Staff
Very usefull for might spam, and so massive heal, and for Staff 1# spam inside a zerg or simply for Staff 5# which allow you to block enemies and if you get practice to positioning it you can also use it as a good interrupter in 1vs1
Scepter/Focus
Very good for the immobilize skill and range. You can also combine it with torch and get a good burst from torch 4# and 5# while enemy is immobilized.
Hammer
High burst damage and with the symbol spam inside a zerg you can get protection… or simply heal from allies walking inside. Also you have a combo leap (with GS 4#) which give retailation and a very good immobilize which is very good if followed by a full GS 2# rotation (especially against running classes)
Conclusions:
The new equip mix will allow you to resist better to conditions and at the same time to hit harder. The sostitution of rune of lyssa with divinity is necessary in order to get enough stats and damage multiplier so that you can hit even more harder (infact with this equip you have only 19 less power than a full berserker one). The only problem is to stack perception, first of all, and then you can start to hit very hard (with 52%+ crit chance at full perception stacks) with 102% base damage multiplier and 3630 effective power while still having a 34% damage reduction from thougness and 1200+ base HP.
Thank you and let me know if you have questions, troubles and suggestion
Thank to Brutaly, akamon and others for help
PS: sorry for grammar errors… i will correct them later
(edited by Kjeldoran.3849)
I was thinking about giving the new ZB trait a spin in wvw as soon as i get back home.
20/0/0/30/20 with full clerics might throw in 1 knight piece to get vigor on crit more reliable, boon duration runes. Stronger VoR and omnom pie or mango pie. Will BE interesting to see if ZB is worth the 20 points =P
I’m working on it… and the answer is: no, it’s not enough for 20 points in zeal tree…
Now i’m reworking on an alternative AH build focused on “strenght in numbers” and “big damage with great resistence” … build is still 0/0/30/30/10 but the equip and trait choice will make the difference
what will you be playign this for mainly? WvW? PvE? dungeons? etc..
overall in general, if i were to run 20 in Zeal, i would most likely do a 20/0/30/20/0 build or even a 20/30/0/20/0 build (if i feel more ballsy).
if i went 30 in Valor, i would take up Monk’s Focus actually for burst healing, while Zealous Blade will be able to give me little healing overtime to help sustain a bit here and there. and when i do take too much burst or health dropping too fast, i can burst heal with meditations. and of course on top of that, your actual heal if really needed. just be sure to hit your enemies with your greatsword, as well as WW in the middle of mobs, etc.
if you don’t feel it’s enough, you can always pair it up with omnoms or life leeching sigils, etc. though if you do some quick match, i think it adds up, depending on what situation you are. could be jsut enuogh to help keep you topped up while you avoid the big hits.
hello akamon.2769,
yes this build will be mainly for wvw and also for some dungeons (like cof, how, se, cm, and others).
Actually the previous build (20/0/30/20/0) is the best for surviving and deal massive damage. With a regular AH build you can hit (in pve) for 4-5k with WW but with this build you can easily hit for 6k+ (WW) …
anyway the good aspect of this build is the combination of ZB and AH which give you for exemple with a WW 254hp (228hp with 3 auto attacks)… which is pretty good united with 1815 thougness
now i’m testing it… il tell you soom the result maybe ill open a new thred to show how to build equip, build and how to use.
ok that’s the best build for now:
confirmed my standard equip (equip knight with berserker trinkets except 2xring knight and berserker wapon) but with GS – Sword/torch
traits: 20/0/30/20/0 (unfortunately I had to give my 5 points in virtue :< but this is the only way)
base stats will be like:
power: 2000
crit chance: 50%
crit dmg multiplier: 70%
thougness: 1815
vitality: 200 (12805 hp)
boon duration: 0%
with: double health gain (ZB and AH), 5% extra GS damage, 10% extra damage to burning foes (torch will help to keep it up), extra simbols of wrath with vulnerability, 20% cond duration and a good crit damage (70% without ascendend)…
…loking for more…
Thank you for answer.
for Zindrix.1750:
in my opinion 5 points in virtues are essential because with 5 point you have:
5 seconds of might (3 stacks for you and party), 5 seconds of regeneration (for you and party) and 5 sec of protection (for you and paty)… it’s perfect, at least for me.
anyway the point is:
ZB heals for 26hp which is pretty ridicolous while AH heals for 75hp…
with a light analysis of attacks i can say: “every 3 auto-attacks” i gain
-26hp x 3 = 78hp with ZB
-75 × 1 (third GS attack) with AH
but i also have a 50% chance to gain an additional stack of might and 75hp which mean: 3 auto attacks= 2normal 1crit 2might= 150hp which is better than ZB…
also with Wirling Wrath i can hit 4 times which means:
26×4= 104hp whith ZB
75×2 (50% of 4attacks)= 150hp with AH
so AH is always better…
so the solution isnt go fo 20/0/25/20/5 but i think is better work on Strenght in Numbers and aim on gain power changing some equip… i’m working on it and ill tell you here soon if i find something
bye
Hello guys,
i’m here today to discuss with you about that build.
before today i used an AH build with a combination of berserker and knight equip (ofc)
i tell you only stats… you surely know the equip:
power: 1800
crit chance: 49%
crit dmg multiplier: 70%
thougness: 1665
vitality: 300 (13805 hp)
boon duration: 10%
(classic build 0/0/30/30/10)
but now i’m interest in something of new which can use the new “zealous blade” trait…
so that’s what i thought:
Equip:
full knight with rune of lyssa (x6)
Weapon:
Greatsword – sword/focus (all berserker)
Trinkets:
2x knight accessory + 2x knight ring -> with 4x exquisite ruby jewel
1x berserker back -> with 1x exquisite ruby jewel
1x berserker amulet
traits: 20/0/25/20/5 (look image)
and the result (in stats) is:
power: 1960
crit chance: 50%
crit dmg multiplier: 59%
thougness: 1820
vitality: 200 (12805 hp)
boon duration: 5%
result (in terms of effects):
(old build) —-—————————————————- (new build)
-5% boon duration —-———————————— +20% malus duration
-1000hp —-———————————————————- +155 thougness
-11% crit dmg multiplier —-———————— +160 power
-10% damage (with low endurance) —-- +15% damage (5%always, 10% on burning)
-hp gained with boon —-—————————— + hp gained with GS attacks
-20% GS cd reduced —-———————————- + symbol at 25% and apply vulnerability
-25% increased retailation duration —-— +10% damage on burning (increased by20%)
so what do you think about the new build? are these bonus really good? or can i continue with my old and get same results?
thank you.
(edited by Kjeldoran.3849)
same thing to me… right now.
oh… so i guess it’s really hard?
can you give me the exactly % for drop?
what this! i found this build perfect for… almost anything! (especially for wvw)
Anyway i prefer to run this build with a 0/0/30/30/10 AH build with a full knight gear and berserker trinkets.
Ill suggest you to try a sword/focus based build… you will be surprised by the streght of this!
now with the last change you can use flash blade to avoid aoe.
Anyway 3rd sword skill in 1v1 will be pretty amazing (i do about 4-5k damage in wvw with full knight gear …) and the auto-attack git very hard! (with knight gear i do about: 800, 800, 600-600-600 with no crits, if you get a triple crit on the last one you can do more than 4k damage with “auto-attack”!).
i usually run GS/sword-focus AH build and i love when enemy force me to swap to sword… because i can destroy them easily :P
Hello,
this is my first event in gw2 (the first one with a “rare” item drop from mobs) and i started this morning to do, as every day, the daily but at my first mob (and i’m not kidding) i dropped “Holographic Dragon Wing”…
Now i can sell it on TP for 37g (i dont like these kind of things so i prefer to make money :P) but i have a question:
what’s the drop rate from mobs? I’m not sure but i’m going to farm it with my magic find equip (200% magic find) but i’m pretty sure this will be hard…
thank you
Hello,
i’m new on warrior world and i just hit lvl 80 with mine.
Now after watching a lot of build i still cant decide.
My favourite weapon is greatsword and maybe i’ll go for rifle as secondary.
What build can you suggest to me?
99% of builds i’ve seen are focused on berserker equip… with about 1300 thougness and 20k hp… i dont know if is it enough but on my guardian i have 1700 thoguness…
Please tell me wich is the most balanced build and armor set for wvw (i hate glass cannon). thank you
It took 6 months to add some leaderboards. There is no matchmaking, there are no leagues or anything. I just played a couple of PvP matches and got bored. A friend of mine (who is one of the? few) played like 3000 hours PvP (im not even joking). And now what? I cant even inspect him to see what he was achieved. 2 Weeks ago there were no leaderboards. And this game has no ranking system to see how good he is. And dont even mention the crappy unresponsive combat…
Look at any other game. Like CoD or Battlefield for that matter. Every game has some sort of a progression.? GW2’s pvp has no progression at all… you play 1 match and your friend plays 1000 matches. What is the difference now between you and your friend? He has now some other animal rank.. Woah great! And you cant even inspect him to see his progression… if there was any…
First polish the combat of GW2 and make it more responsive. No unnecessary cast time and “wait for animation” moments. Even the combat of Neverwinter is more responsive. And remove the gliding of the camera! Put a ranking system in sPvP. Leagues or just a number like? Ranking: 2200. And we need matchmaking. I stopped playing GW2 becuase of the lack of these things. People who are still playing GW2 come from GW1, they have never experienced a good and polished e-sports game. I dont want to insult anyone, I think its true.
Oh and really REMOVE THE DOWNSTATE FROM sPVP! This has to happen for sure!
There is a great great underlying problem in your adfirmation; yes pvp in gw2 isn’t the best but:
1)pvp in gw2 is the most free and equal thing i have never seen before. any other mmo require 1000000hours of farming, 1000000gold (or money in general) in order to play at the same level of other players (nerds). Here the pvp is more like “you can do anything, just learn how to do”… which is a great thing (for me at least).
2)do you play pvp (and games in general) for a title? “master of the world” or “i’m superior, you are kitten” are enough? you dont really need a title to show your competence… play and show it!
3)COD and Battlefield are great games… but they are F-P-S, so they are focused on player vs player and it’s normal to have a better consideration of rank. GW2 is a MMO RPG so the most important thing is the comunity, friendship and tactics (not greatly improved, i d say).
GW2 is the game … not a game… you can find some problems, but it’s always something of negligible compared to the entire game’s mechanics…
thank you for understanding
still waiting areanet answer…
Hello,
today, for the first time, happened to me something that kitten me off… really kitten me off! (sorry for language but it’s needed).
These things listed below must be changed(all regarding dungeons):
1)you cant kick people without the confirmation of all the party! because now, you can kick a man just forming a party with, at least, a friend. “Someone you dont like in the party? kick it!” NO… all 4 members must accept the kick in order to do something of polite.
2)you cant kick people during a fight (especially boss fight) because there are some pieces of kitten that kick you at the end of last boss fight! … they must be banned for that.
3)if the dungeon creator exit from party, the rest of party can’t be kicked from dungeon and miss chest!
Thank you for attention and i would ask to a gm to contact me because i have the name of an idiot who did that, (kick me at the end of last boss fight) and i hope there is something like ban for that …
Hello,
please can an expert in guardian sector tell me which is the best armor set (stats) and trinkets for an altruistic healer (quite classic) build? (0/0/30/30/10)
now i’m trying for an offensive one:
equip -> knight
trinket -> berserker
rune -> lyssa
jewel -> berserker
1) protection. People move around. making symbols on ground crap.
2) aegis boon. 60 and 90 Sec CD. for 1 hit use each. any kind of hit.
…….
Simply put. This far.
I dont find anything about this class to LEGALY name it Guardian.
I dont find anything about this class to LEGALY name it Guardian.[/quote]
man listen to me:
guardian has a lot of problems but arent these you metioned.
We have a lack of range and of damage but all is justified by:
1)aegis: you ignore the utility of this boon. each aegis give you: 1attack dodge, 1stack of might, heal and burn enemies (if you well trait that). Do you think is enough for a single boon?
2)G-U-A-R-D-I-A-N mean that: you can heal party (you can with virtue, 6 and some utilities), you can protect the party (you can with virtue and utilities), you can give offensive/defensive general purpose boon to party (you can with virtue, utilities and elite)
3) guardian is very resistent (more than a warrior for sure). 22k hp isn’t enough if you cant heal for at least 50% of you total healt. Guardian has around 12k base hp but you can heal for 8+k only with the 6skill … 70+% of your health with a skill is enough for you? anyway guardian have a lot of defensive boon (aegis, protection, regeneration) and you can stack them in a lot of ways
cmon guys :< please help me!
Hello,
i’m running a knight-berserker mixed build (more knight than berserker xd).
But now i’m very indeed with traits.
Now i’m running a common
0
0
30 (V-VI-XI)
20 (II-IX)
20 (II-IX)
but i’m not sure if would be, instead, better a
0
0
30 (V-VI-XI)
30 (II-XI-VIII)
10 (II)
can you suggest me which one will be better for you?
I’m running greatsword/sword-focus build with shouts (obviously).
0/0/30/20/20
+retailation per virtue activation
+10% boon duration
+10% less cd on virtue
+25% more passive health regeneration
+3 condition remover skill
-10% more damage at low endurance
-100 vitality
-100 healing
-multiple stack of aoe might (1 per crit) , health per stack application (altruistic healing).
Please tell me your opinion
guys seriously… are you kidding right?
warrior is one of the best class of the game, lets see in other class tread and look at their problems! we haven’t problems, compared to many other classes like guardians and engineers.
Anyway lets explain something:
1)warrior is exellent for pve because it’s very simple to use but it’s also exellent in spvp/wvw but, here, you NEED skill… no excuses… skill!
2)warrior has a ton of builds available, each build for a specific situation is perfect (or very good). do you want some exemples?
-greatsword build with might stack trait → devastating in pve
-greatsword/rifle build with mobility traits → for every situation
-axe/axe build → for pvp reaping (better for wvw, when with food you can spin in the zerg and get full health)
-riffle/bow build → for wvw solo roaming… something of spectacular
(look here for information → http://taugrim.com/2012/12/04/guide-to-guild-wars-2-warrior-run-and-gun-build-for-wvw/ )
-sword/sword – sword/axe → for pvp (in smal scale battles) … only one thing: bleed-is-devstating!
and ofcourse there are more builds with the shield (ex: mace/shield (pve) axe/scield (general purpose) sword/shield (pvp defensive build)
3)if you really learn to play this class you can do everything! do you like to run inside the zerg? you can do it… do you like to shoot from distance? you can do it! do you like to tank? you can do it! pve? pvp? do it! warrior is simply a round class… a very well done “round class”! just specialize in something and play…
so… dont be hesitant with this class… this is the one which you must have in yours 5 slots!
wow! 86 views and no one can help me…. thank you guys… really…
Hello,
I wanted to create a build for guardian but i’m new on the game (about a month of game), can you help me please?
Purpose:
Aggressive build, it’s about do more damage healing and surviving at the same time.
The build is mainly for WvWvW but, in my opinion, you can use it also for some dungeons (and events of course).
Weapon:
main -> greatsword
second -> staff
Utility Skills (and explanation):
“retreat!” : because guardian hasn’t swiftness bonus and is very hard to reach
some ranged classes, also aegis is the best defensive boon.
“hold the line!” : is another defensive utility (increased healing, boon duration and
reduced cd will help)
“save yourselves!” : this is a defensive/offensive utility which make you really resistent
and powerfull at the same time.
Elite Skill:
tome of courage: if you are in a party for massive healing (and general support)
renewed focus: if you are soloing as a panic button (after we launched against the
enemy all that we have).
Traits:
Zeal -> 5 – 10 (II)
Radiance -> 5 – 10 (III) – 15 – 20 (VI) – 25
Valor -> 0
Honor -> 5 – 10 (II) – 15 – 20 (IX) – 25
Virtues -> 5 – 10 (IV)
Stats:
equip -> power, thougness and vitality (i haven’t the exact stats but you will be around
1400 thougness)
rings/amulet etc -> full berserker
So what do you think about that build? It’s not so hard to use:
-it’s based on 3 +10% damage trait so:
-roll evry time you can and you will get multiple bonus:
-avoid attacks, heals, +10% damage
-it’s based on more health and more compassion so your heals are bigger.
-it’s based on malus/bonus system:
-blind every few seconds
-multiple stacks of vulnerability
-multiple stacks of might, aegis, retailation, regeneration, protection and swiftness (on
you and allies)
at least: be on the move, avoid and hit hard.
Please tell me your considerations, doubts and suggestions.
Can you tell me more on that build (traits especially)?
(edited by Kjeldoran.3849)
Hello guys,
i’m new on guild wars 2 (2nd week of game for me) but i’m starting to look at the future and, in paticularly, to the WvWvW (and maybe arenas).
Now i’ve already looked a lot of build for pvp/wvwvw but no one is for me and my way to play
So i decided to create one myself which can, at least for me (in my inexperience), be funny and powerfull.
This is the build:
<look at images>
Explanation: all is based on GS due to its high damage and mobility and rifle for distant enemies or simply to crush down some one with the “rifle butt” skill if too aggressive.
Heal, utility and elite skills are, voluntarily, signets in order to get the 20% CD reduction and the +40precision from traits. Anyway the healing signet has the function of cripple/freeze/immobilize/weakness remover (thanks to the trait) so, with the reduced cd, maybe can help.
Equip pointed on: Power, Vitality, Toughness.
What did you think about this build? can it works fine?
(edited by Kjeldoran.3849)
Thank you for answer, i have only 2 more questions:
-Can you tell me the exact number of fps you have in lions arch (for exemple) and you setting configuration?
-In your opinion with an i7-3610QM is better a 2GB 650m or also 1GB 650m (always nvidia) is enough?
Hello i have an update:
for about the same price (630€) i found this notebook:
-CPU: Core i7-3610QM (2.3ghz – 3.3ghz quad core)
-GPU: Nvidia 650m 2GB ddr5
-RAM: 8gb ddr3
-OS: win 7 (64bit)
what do you think? this one has a better gpu and a 100mhz more of CPU for about the same price (621€the frist one, 630€ this one).
thank you
ok… so get a good frame rate in wvwvw is such an impossible mission… anyway thank you for help ^^ i was looking for a good price/quality notebook and the one i tell you before was for 620€. If you have any suggestion for good notebook (between 600-800€) please tell me
First of all, thank you for answer.
for solar nova:
if in your opinion my pc can run wvwvw with less than 30 fps in large battle (20-30fps) it will be enough for me! I really dont need to reach 50-60 fps….
Anyway this cpu is really new and powerfull because of 4 cores and it can reach 3.2ghz per core (…as an expert explained to me).
The mainly problem for me was the gpu… but if you say that the most imporant thing for gw2 is the cpu, there aren’t many problems in my opinion.
anyway in your opinion what is better:
cpu core i5 2.6 ghz dual core cache 3mb L2(3.4ghz turbo boost), (quad core, hyper threading)
or
cpu core i7 2.2 ghz quad core cache 6mb L3(3.2ghz turbo boost), (octa core, hyper threading)
?
Hello,
i’m going to buy a new notebook pc; i know that notebook aren’t good for games but i need it for other, and more important, reason.
So the problem is that:
can this pc (specs down) run the game at least with all on minimum and avoid any sort of lag (also in wvwvw) ?
I know that is hard for a notebook to run GW2 but i dont want high or ultra settings…
spec:
-CPU: intel core i7-3632QM (2.2ghz – 3.2ghz 6mb cache L3)
-GPU: ati radeon HD 7670m 2gb ddr3 (dedicated)
-RAM: 4gb 1600mhz
-OS: win 8 (64bit)
thank you for help
