i don’t know what to say… i created this build testing it… and i’m having good results… my dps isn’t insane but i usually burst down thieves, mesmers, elementalists, guardians and rangers if few seconds… i don’t know if that was only luck… but it still happen. I have only hard times against hammerbow warriors (i always kill them in 1vs1 but i usually see them roaming in 2 or 3 vs 1, there isn’t much to say in this case).
anyway, if you can, give me any tips or build prototipe. What i want to achieve is a build based on power and turrets (no conditions, no kits… i know these are the best things for a pvp build but i usually kill those builds with mine in 1vs1).

i’m trying to build up a new build for a viable and competitive pvp game that doesn’t involve the common “bunker decapper” or “condition spamming” tactics (if we can talk of tactics).
I started with my personal preference: power builds.
Also i love turrets (what the hell is an engineer without turrets! I can’t imagine…) and rifle. So after some testing this is what i got:

Tactic: there isn’t much to say, this is a fun build and requires you to play intelligently; turrets, tool belt, rifle and combos with waterfield only when needed, waste one of them and you are out.
After soma matches i finded it really good (in solo queue) but i’m sure there is something i can improve. So here is it, can you give me an opinion and (if possible) a feedback?
Also i have some questions:
1) Accelerant-Packed turrets (trait): why doesn’t this trait always work? I mean, a lot of times when i make my turrets explode enemies don’t get pushed back, but sometimes they do (and they don’t have stability!). There is an internal cd? or is it a bug?
2) Rune of the Privateer: is it bugged? i tried it a while and… that parrot damage is insane. Is it worth it?

The solution to the healing signet is called, “superior sigil of doom.” It has an ICD of 9 seconds, and a base duration of 6 seconds. Your next attack after you swap weapons, poisons. With 50% condition duration provided by food (koi cakes) and toxic oils, stones, or crystals, you can make it near permanent.
Just burst, swap weapons, and poison. The charge doesn’t leave if they dodge, just try again. I mean what are the warrior going to do, blind spam you?, go into stealth?, distract you with clones?, make you accidentally use the charge on a pet or an army of minions?
If they run away, then you’ve won.
Remember when they used to say that when fighting thieves….I guess that rule is still in effect. :P
what about cleansing ire? :P i think a common warrior build has burst skill on a <9sec cd so it is basically the counter-counterplay (and note that while you have to “slot” that sigil to counterplay warriors they just run their common build ).
Just why does it always have to be the god kitten invisible walls. Heck the walls used now cant be detected by an ground target attack as the earlier ones does.
This new zone practically begs EXPLORE ME due to the platforming mechanics but in turn we are instead put on rails and toured through some very specific areas.

What we want to do is explore the place, even the parts that are only meant as foundation. Why? because of curiosity, entertainment and the fun of setting your own challenges.“You could exploit that”
Ok i get why it gets patched up when there is an obvious exploit going on, but then at least ad a rock or a tree blocking the place not a bloody invisible wall that will murder the unsuspecting player.Invisible walls are never the answer and only reeks laziness and ends up leaving a bitter taste.
It is not that hard to understand: if you can’t jump over a rock it is because that particular position may be used to see what you can’t see and i’m not talking about “hidden lore” behind a wall… i don’t think anet developers like to waste their time putting stuff behind a wall that is not supposed to be trespassed but it is more easily a problem due to missing texture and/or not defined landscape (for example: if you create a giant face and players are supposed to watch that standing in front of … developers will not work on the head back and so if a jump over rock allows player to see the “not-scripted” back… that would be a sign of a poor work behind and this is not in arenanet style).
The first thing that hit players on games like gw2 (one of the first games to introduce the dodge mechanics) is the fact that you HAVE to dodge… while this starts as a problem (a lot of new players still stand still and use skills… and get shotted easily) after a while, if you learn the game (and apreciate it) becomes the real freedom (i feel so bad while playing a game withouth the dodge… really).
So i think this should be greatly improved to make each fight unique… because the difference between a boss and another one isn’t the skin (of the boss) but the kind of attacks and, so, the dodge skill required.
If a boss simply hit the area in front of him for a devastating attack (one shot) it may become frustating but if the same boss hits a particular area with few free points (like a big circe with an internal smaller circle, the save spot) THAT will really make you fell the action of the game (maybe add the “unblockable” effect to these attacks, so you don’t just need to dodge and get 1 sec invulnerability to avoid them).
Anyway ArenaNet is going in the right way, for me, and i really apreciate those improvements (also with the crown pavilion’s bosses we had some spectacular aoes like the wiggin one).
As i said in another thread before this should meet a boss AI revamp: bosses don’t follow you, if you want to kill them you have to play their game… if you don’t prepare to get kitten d…
PS: also remove the blind effect on bosses can improve active game intead of blindness spamming… the should be a specific boon for bosses about blindness like defiant).

Am I the only onw which is happily surprised to see a wider range of bosses attacks since Festival of Four Winds?
I mean, we usually have to fight bosses which uses attack with a … “frontal” area of impact effect… so you have to learn the “animation” and avoid impact but now (also with the lat patch) ArenaNet introduced a lot of bosses with an interesting type of skills which are not so statics or so “obvious to avoid”.
What do you think about that? I’n my opinion to improve a more complex variety of skill impact area in the game would be a really cool add (for example a triangular area of impact or a composited area, like “L” form or “T” etc).

your is actually a really good, and possible, solution!
Why not to make this wall to be always on?! it will be like this:
when the boss fight starts the wall around the platform stand up. This wall allows players to walk through but reflect ranged attacks and while the ground is electrified it becomes elecrtified too (for 2-5 sec) knocking back every player who touch it.
In this way it will become more like a wrestling match :P
also for common bosses (like dungeon’s bosses) give them one-shot mechanics if they are not killed in the right way … i know “one shot” is a bit abused in this game but it is the only way to reduce all the freedom that the “holy trinity” absence gives us (sorry for the bad english :<)
for example… the “Destroyer of Worlds”… really? a so “leggendary” name for a so doggy boss?
Quick suggestion: add a world destruction bar. If the boss hit players with a particular attack the bar fills (this should penalize the “stack in a corner” strategy) and when the bar if full… end of game!
I think we can fill up an entire thread with boss suggestion… but … my question is:
will never devs care of our suggestion? I mean, i know devs always read forum but if we say “add strategy X to boss Y” doesn’t this make bosses actually easier to kill? we have created that strategy after all…

So i was wonder if GW2 bosses are really “bosses”. I mean when you face a boss you should say “holy kitten … i have to find the right way to avoid attacks… but how…” and not “oh, another boss… come here doggy, right in the corner we don’t have enough time for you too …”
So a simple solution would be:
why not to make bosses don’t follow players but play their game with players? Just give them 1 or 2 one shot skills if players try to stack or avoid combat and it is done.
Stupid example:
Golen Mark II
Actually: the tactic is to avoid electrified fields and run left and right over the platform.
What actually happen: players with a good ranged skill stay right our the platform and go afk on auto-attack.
What should be done: give golem mark a skill which one shot every single player outside the platform (in a good range, not infinite) and make it spam this skill, let’s say, every 10 sec (?)

I have found the solution!
1. If it’s bugged, don’t use ileap. It is easy for players to dodge and I have fun dodging it myself.
2. Don’t use blink. Staff skill 2 is much better anyway with a better CD.
3-4) Don’t stealth. It’s a wast of time when you could be doing damage and, while you are invisible, people and ai attack your phants killing your damage.
5). I have no idea what you were saying, but the izerker should be used for its aoe and cripple. Stop complaining that your ai isn’t attacking on your command XD.Have fun with mesmer.

while Zelulose was usefull i can’t say the same for you XD addressing it to L2P issue isn’t a solution, why? because i know how to use mesmer and you didn’t read carefully what i said, ill explain again:
1) sword 3 is bugged but doing spvp it is really hard to find a place perfectly on pair
2) i know i “cant blink everywhere” but i said “when i use blink i get teleported back” this means: 1- i use blink 2- i get teleport to the target area 3- i get teleported back (anyway i think this was a connection issue)
3) the prestige has no casting time… but, again due to connection, it failed (i think) because i use a precise skill rotation so i press buttons very fast goin over the next skill before to see the previous one completed (but connection is blocking me.. i see)
4) ok … i dont know if i did what you said but it seems legit. And again i want to let you know that i know stealth =/= invulnerability simply i was wondering if that auto-attack spamming directed to me was due to the “failed stealth” or to a “random spamming”
5) again here i was looking for a serious help. I know i have to “stay in range” but there is another problem:
-phantasmal berserker = 1200 range
-enemy is moving, i’m following at the same speed
-if startind distance was <1200 it shoul be <1200 everywhere
-here occurs the issue on casting phantoms
anyway i was talking about spvp… because i don’t use mesmer for pve.
It seemed that most of problems comes from a not optimal internet connection… but considering i’m using a 20mb internet…

i just restarted playing gw2 after a break (some patches ago) and i’m having truble using my mesmer in pvp (… i have problems also with guardian… but, what strange, no problems with warrior and thief…).
1) illusionary leap -> fails almost every time also if the targe is in front of me but the is a small ground difference (like a tile slightly higher)
2) blink -> 50% of times teleport me back to my starting position after using it…
3) the prestige -> if i use it and fastly press over another skill it is interrupted and also the new skill is interrupted.
4) decoy -> 25% of times i dont get invisibility. I don’t know if it is a graphic bug but i feel like enemies can see me… and actually attack me also if i have the “invisibility” bonus in the boon bar)
5) phantasmal berserker -> if the target moves (or do something i don’t know) the close start running at enemy… instead of attack him and wait for whirling cd like it was used
So, how did you get rid of all those problem? I dont remember i had so many problems last time… thank you.

i’m having some trouble landing “whirling wrath” (i just restarted playing after a break).
Sometimes i see numbers grow up… reaching something like 5-7k damage (without party or allies) but almost every time numbers grow up so slowly… that for the entire animation i barely hit the enemy… 1… or 2 times (for a tota of 1-2k damage)!
How is it possible? Now i knoe there is a projectile component but… is it possible that 90% of times i do more damage with auto-attack than with a skill with a so high damage indicator in description? (actually the damage index is near to the hundredblade one…).

if i can i want to give my 50cent to the discussion.
In my opinion each class should have 1 “strength” and 1 “weakness” but no “cryptonite”. At the actual moment the most interesting thing of the game, for me, is that if you want you can contrast everything if you gear up in the right way… but losing something else… of course.
The problem at the moment isn’t that class “X” is better than class “Y” but that class “X” can do what class “Y” do but without lose anything else.
Now, this is becoming a stereotype, why are warriors so “powerfull”?
Let’s match warrior with… guardian?
1) Damage output
warrior = high damage simply using weapon skills
guardian = mid-high damage using the right weapon + traits + right gear
warrior > guardian
2) Hp and healing
warrior = high hp pool (7k more than guardian…), very high health regen simply using 1 healing (signet) + 1 trait (3 points)
guardian = low hp pool + good health regen using traits (0/0/6/6/0 = 12 traits for a good regen with boons or 0/0/6/0/4 = 10 traits for a good regen with meditations)
warrior > guardian
3) counter ability and mobility
warrior = very high access to stun/immobilize/knockdown-back + very good access to mobility, leaps and swiftness (perma)
guardian = low access to stun and immobilize (1 and 1 respectively) + low access to leap (1) and quite good access to swiftness (perma in pve but almost nothing in pvp)
warrior > guardian
4) defense and block/immunity
warrior = no access to protection but 3 sec block (shield) + 4 sec no damage (or 5 with 2 trait points) + high access to toughness boosts (signet + banner = 300 extra toughness)
guardian = good access to protection and aegis (aegis = 1block, for a total of a max spam of 3 aegis) + 2 sec invulnerability (or 3 sec with 4 trait points)
warrior >= guardian
So, the problem is that some classes have easy access to everything while others have to specialize and waste their potential in another field. The only reason guardians are still in a good place is for their ability to reflect projectiles… only good in dungeons.
So, in my opinion if you want to balance the game focus on a single aspect for each class and make sure they will lose that aspect if go for something else.
you pay for Kellog’s at least 1 time per week XD and they don’t add new things to kellog’s (?) every week… so you pay for the same thing every week when it costs 0 to add nothing. while gw2 development cost surely more than 0 every day and you pay nothing every week (except when you buy gems).
You are right, arenanet decision was the B2P model, but also the best game can fail if no one support it. Do you want gw2 to fail? to become free to play (pay to win)? so stop with these threads and support, if you can (i’m not forcing anyone, just don’t attack them for so little) , and if you can’t simply enjoy the game with your B2P method and that message in the chat wich is not destroying your game experience (i hope…)

The gem store isn’t the place where to “buy items to win” but simply the place where to “buy funny items and promote developers work”.
If you dont want to spend money use in-game golds, if you don’t want to farm use money… but if you don’t want to farm and spent money then… give me a good reason to sell you something that required hours of work?!
The game is Buy To Play; this means you pay 1 time for the game and then you can play all the time you want BUT developers aren’t 1 time paid to work on a game for their entire life… seriously stop with these flame.
For the guy above me, you can still farm, you just need to find new ways. “FARM” is against game rule only because this is the most “free time game” (→ “casual gamers”). Now if you want to farm you can still do it but you are only trying to play Gw2 how you where used to play WoW or free to play games. There is no need to farm in this game (except for leggendary and ascended, both non-essentials to get capped).
Also i want to encourage everyone to buy gems at least 2-3 times per years not because ANet paid me for this (XD) but just because buy gems is the only way we have to say thank you to developers. If you think that to develop a game, a world or a single weapon skin is easy and fast… please start to work at your own personal game (i did it… 1 month later i finished the first city XD then i stopped :<).
before to open another thread like this please think that you are only wasting moderator time and just flamming. That’s all for me, don’t get me wrong, i don’t want to attack you… simply be honest with yourselves.

but calm down, everyone plays the way he/she prefers. There isn’t the “best way” but only the “better for you” way to do it.
At the moment i finded really good for me to farm in the crown pavillion for 3 reasons:
- thousands of bags
- 300 token = t6 bag = 3 t6 (i know this is a poor exchange rate but i really don’t want other things with tokens :S (and i already got my “endless dolyak calf” !!))
- karma farm (karma = obsidian shards = grow up your stack to 250 + more shards for extra clover try at forge = extra t6 !(or more useless clovers XD))
that is for me the best way to farm for a leggendary at moment…
note: am I, or today it is a really, really… really (and 30-50 more really later) luckless day? Today I salvaged 12 yellows for 0 globs of ectoplasm, i got 0 yellows/exotics from mobs/chest and thrown like 40 greens in the mistic toilet for 1 yellow … really? :<

So i’m almost at 1% of craft process XD
Now i’m starting to farm for t6 but actually i don’t know a single good (after last patches). Can you suggest me a good place where to farm t6?

I really need some help playing Mesmer, I replicate the build and combo’s Vs X class and my damage doesn’t even seem to get them below 80% if I’m lucky, even Vs zerker builds and it’s really god kitten frustrating.
It’s like I apply zero damage and my clones never seem t connect with the target, like they are way to slow.
Elementalists burst me down in less than 3 seconds.
Thief’s I can’t damage for some reason and they out DPS me.
Warrior’s are 50/50.
Ranger’s just run.
Engineers I don’t have a problem with so they usually run.
Guardians are too tanky.
Necro’s I can cook most of the time.
Mesmer’s 50/50 and usually ends in a kill or mutual retreat.Would be great if a high level Mesmer from AG could help because this is getting beyond a god kitten joke and it’s depressing to say the least. I’m not going back to PvE because it’s boring.

man, maybe i can help… i’m learning too to use this class. There are few rotations i use to get a good advantage over enemies:
tip 1: always start with sword-torch set → 4# + swap GS for surprise attacks (4# and 2#)
rotation burst: (gs) 4# + 2# + 5# + 3# + swap + #3 + 2# + 4# (then you are stealthed and can do everything you want)
tip 2: never waste decoy only for stealth → it is above all a stun breaker! (teleport too if you have)
tip 3: try to don’t attack when stealthed, the most important thing to do so is to use not direct damage skills (like gs 4#, torch 5# and sword 3#) doing so you get maximum stealth and maximum boons from Prismatic Understanding
tip 4: use shatter skills too! (f1 damage, f2 when f1 is on cd for damage + condi , very good against skill spamming eles, f3 when someone is finishing a friend or to counter long charge skills, f4 to survive/finish someone)
rotation sword: 3# + 2# + 4# + 5# + dodge roll + f1
tip 5: use elite to save your friends from being stomped
tip 6: against condition spammer try to reveal yourselves less time as possible and get distances (also make your clones explode as soon as possible, because of aoe spamming)
simple gs rotation: 4# + 2# + dodge roll + f1 (with Osicat’s build is something like 10k burst in 2sec)

I have only few question about traits and an utility, can you help me?
1) does “empowered illusions” work only on “phantasmal berserker” and “phantasmal mage” with this build? so, i was thinking, if i’m right, why not to use “mental torment”?
2) is “null field” a valid alternative to “mantra of resolve”? using mesmer for pvp I finded it really usefull for party support… but your opinion would be the most important xD

What Anet said was that it would be 10 less overall damage for a full zerk.
Unless your build had 100% crit chance, somewhat 30% less crit damage is not 30% less overall DPS…
of course but are we talking about “critical damage”? So has no sense consider normal damage simply because if you don’t crit you can’t count ferocity index on it. So i think it is 10% less damage on criticals
15 ferocity = 1 % crit damage
ok this is an important info… where did you take it? from in game calculation i finded it not so accurate because it can be 15.1 or 15.5 or 15.9

I have a little feedback and some questions about “ferocity”. I’m sorry if something was told during a “ready up” or something else but i miss last month of gw2 comunity/devs advices.
The last thing i remeber about ferocity was that “ferocity scales for a 10% less damage compared with critical damage”.
Before last patch i had +82% (= 232%) critical damage, right now i have 204% critical damage. So the difference is -28% critical damage (way more than “10% less damage”).
Now if you compare the overl damage 10% of 232 is 23.2 (so i would have 209% instead of 204%)
So can you explain me how exactly ferocity works? And, how does critical damage scales with “ferocity”? (how many fecrocity points for +1% crit damage?)
Also follow me for a moment.
Before patch:
(a smal equip piece, like shoulders, had, in exotic gear)
+34 main stat
+24 secondary stat
+2% crit damage
After patch:
(the same piece)
+34 main stat
+24 secondary
+24 ferocity —-> if we consider a 10% less effectiveness 24 points = 1.8% crit damage
so 1.8 / 24 = 0.075 crit damage per ferocity point
but if you consider a major gear piece, like chest:
+101 main stat
+72 secondary
+ 5% critical damage ->(-10%) = 4.5% = 72ferocity = 0.075*72 =?= 4.4%
so … there is an error here…
also if you consider the contrary you have:
(major gear piece)
5% crit damage -> (after patch) = 4.5% = 72 ferocity -> 4.5/72 = 0.0625 crit damage per ferocity point
(on minor gear piece)
2% crit damage -> (after patch) = 1.8% = 24 ferocity = 24*0.0625 =?= 1.5%
So there is an error in these equations due to the previous unbalance in critical damage distribution.
Now let’s consider pre-patch crit damage with balanced distribution:
(minor piece) -> 24 stat = 2% -> 1% = 12 stat
(major piece) -> 72 stat = 6% =/= 5%
(complete gear) = 2.67% (head) + 2% (shoulder) + 6% (chest) + 2% (gloves) + 4%(legs) + 2% (boots) = 18.67%
after patch:
(minor piece) -> 24ferocity = 1.8% -> 1ferocity = 0.075%
(complete gear) = 2.4% (head) + 1.8% (shoulder) + 5.4% (chest) + 1.8% (gloves) + 3.6% (legs) + 1.8% (boots) = 16.8%
and now 18.67 – 10%(18.67) = 16.8(1) !!! which is the correct ammount!
In conclusion, if i’m right, because i’m only supposing…
BEFORE PATCH:
-those who got only minor gear with berserker stats got more critical damage
-those who got only major gear with berserker stats got less critical damage
-those who got full berserker gear got maxed critical damage
AFTER PATCH:
-those who got only minor gear with berserker stats got more than 10% less crit damage
-those who got only major gear with berserker stats got less than 10% less critical damage
-those who got full berserker gear got about, approximately, 10% less critical damage
SOLUTION:
If you want the best from critical damage without go full berserker now you have to do the opposite: go with major gear piece zerker…
What do you think guys? Maybe ArenaNet should have increased ferocity on minor piece to compensate (or reduced on major piece) or maybe i’m wrong… so please tell me if you have furter information about this stat.

when i logged in today was aware about all those big changes but there is something that didn’t work… or at least i didn’t get it.
1) pvp locker was not supposed to add every unlocked skin to our wardrobe? I haven’t received any…
2) how do i check all my weapon skins from wardrobe without have already a weapon of the researched tipe? (ex: i got GS and Staff but i want to check all my sword/shield/hammer/etc skins)
3) why i have not received “trasmutation charges” upon entering hearth of the mists? (i’m rank 31)

after a month away from solo join and playing team pvp (with my guild mates) today i tried some solo join to test few builds…
this is what came out (which is really different from what i usually see in tPvP):
1) every team has 1, or more, decap engineer… really?
2) every team has 1 necro (fear spammer, how many fears does a necro have? …i got something like 10 sec fear once… maybe there where 2 necros…)
3) usually when you see a thief… just look at enemy team and you will find alway 2 or more thieves (i just player a match against 4 thieves -.-’’ really?)
and above all i’m sure there are a lot of hackers i’ll explain:
- today i played against a bunker guardian… now i have a guardian and i know that guardians can stack aegis but … how many aegis does a guardian have? 2? 3? 5? well i was 1 vs1 against this guardian and after 3 mins of match he was still blocking my attacks (looking at his buff i saw aegis stack every second, does exists this kind of skill?) getting 0 damage and attacking me in the meanwhile… his damage was hilarious but when you cant hit your enemy for 3 mins also 1 dmg/sec is enough.
- also i played against a thief… a particular one. I don’t have a thief but i know that their skills are based on initiative… but now tell me: how many time can a thief use hearthseeker before run out of initiative? 4? 5? 10? well… i was chasing a thief and you know warriors are really fast to catch enemies… after something like 1 min i was still following this thief which used only hearthseeker to run… really?
-the last one comes from an hilarious warrior which was able, apparently, to stack aegis… repeatedly, really? a warrior which stacks aegis? which skill? we was 1vs1 so no guardians around and above all he was able to dodge every my attack after i landed them… looking at animation i hit them but after i land my attack (animation complete and all) he dodged… and he dodged 90% of my attacks (the other 10% was blocked by aegist multiple stacks) -.-’’
it seems that aegis hack is becoming important… did you had similar encounter?

A 10-second duration should kill most players (50k crit) which many might consider severely high, although with a visible target marker and the attack being dodgable / blockable / etc, they are given ample warning.

i was going to say the same… and this suggestion is great in my opinion but why not to put this “hold effect” on LB 3# skill (which gives stealth if only pressed and damage by holding) ? Also reducing a bit the damage output and max hold time (to 5 sec) will make this more realistic and doable.

Guard : command your pet to guard target area (1200 radius) for 60 sec. Your pet gain stealth for 60 sec, when your pet attacks a foe it gives aoe might (3 stacks, 6sec) and fury (6 sec). 20 sec CD.
Sick ’Em : Gives revealer malus to target (8 sec), your pet deal 40% increase damage (8 sec) also your pet gives aoe might (6 stacks, 8 sec). 40 sec CD

Storm Spirit : gives aoe swiftness (6 sec) and has a chance to discarge a bolt of lightning (hitting up to 3 enemies)
Frost Spirit : gives aoe increased damage by 10% for 3 sec
Sun Spirit : gives aoe chance to burn your foe (2 sec) and give aoe might (1 stack, 20 sec)
Stone Spirit : gives aoe protection (4 sec) and makes your next attack to cripple your foe for 1 sec
Associated Risks – damage coefficients and boon duration/stacks need to be balanced in order to avoid and excessive boon spamming but in general this would be a good deal for party support.
i’m still waiting for this CDI sto start… and meantime i’ve made some minor correction to OP i’m still waiting for your opinion on these changes :>
NATURE’S VOICE
A little change in order to make it to give aoe regen and swiftness for 7 sec and give 3 might stack to your pet and you(7sec)

i know there are a lot of topics about “possibilities” for ranger update and that “the ranger CDI thread isn’t still up” but i want to share with you my theory on how to improve rangers before to post this in the CDI thread because i don’t know… this may be a great idea for me… but stupid and useless for others so i want to listen you opinion
Let’s start i want to be as more coincided as possible and sorry ahead for grammar errors
We are rangers, we have pet and, if we have to consider our pet as our best weapon, we want it as more ferocious as possible. Enemies must think 2 times before attack us ignoring our pet!
First of all: our pet must be… deadly but above all smart!
PET MECHANICS
1 – pet can attack enemies while moving (with a reduced movement speed, let’s say 75%, because otherwise it would be like a constant DoT for enemies)
2 – pet auto-attacks have a faster animation and lower aftercast
3 – pet auto-attacks have a large radius and angle (90° for a maximum of 3 target hits)
4 – pet auto-attacks have a chance (let’s say 10%) to give them “rage” (a bonus which increase pet damage by 40% for 4 sec, icd 10sec)
5 – pets gain swiftness for 6sec (icd something like 30sec) if enemies are away more than 1200 from you
6 – pets can now jump, if an enemy jump over a rock your pet starts to cast leap to catch him (or fly casting something else if a bird)
5 – dodge mechanic, like players our pet has endurance (100%) and dodges (50% endurance per dodge) affected by vigor.
5.1- endurance use:
– when pet’s HP reaches 50%: your pet will dodge the next incoming attack
– when pet’s HP reaches 25%: your pet will dodge the next incoming attack
– when your pet is going to take a damage for more than 10% of its HP: your pet will
dodge the next incoming attack
(all those dodges only if you pet still has endurance)
PET SKILLS
each pet has
1) auto-attack which is fast and simple (no big secondary effect, only something like 1bleeding stack etc)
2) heavy attack (longer cast, like 2 sec) for big damage or side effect)
3) a characteristic skill which make each pet unique for group support (bears may give
aoe heals, cats might, bird swiftness etc)
4) healing skill which gives them healing (like players) and/or aoe boons to allies (this will automatically be activated when pet’s hp are under 25%, icd 30sec
5) F2 ability
PET ABILITIES
1 – when pet’s HP reaches 50% it use “survival instinct” which gives aoe fury and protection (600 radius, 5 sec, 30 sec icd)
2 – when ranger’s HP reaches 50% you use “save me” which command you pet to come to you and give aoe regen and a small heal(let’s say 1500 hp, 4 sec regen, 60sec icd)
3 – when you are downed your pet (if alive) use “lick wounds” (actual skill) with halved revive speed (and not healed if dead)
4 – “lick wounds” skill replaced by “sick ’em” (increase pet damage by 40% and give it quickness, 6s) which make pet attack everything around you (240 radius)
SHOUTS
those utilities really need a lot of rework, at least for me, to be really considered “utilities”.
protect me -> all incoming damage is sent to your pet which gives aoe protection and regeneration for 5 sec (duration 5 sec, break stun, 60sec cd)
guard -> command your pet to guard the selected area (900 radius) for 60sec, your pet gain invisibility (60 sec) and attacks everyone who enter the area (enemy players>mobs>pets) 20 sec CD. If your pet is killed while under “guard” effect you shouts giving aoe fury (10 sec) and might (3 stacks, 10 sec).
search and rescue -> command your pet to revive a downed player (standard revive speed) or a dead player (halved revive speed). If the player is revived so, your pet gives aoe aegis (6sec) and protection (3sec) (600 radius), 60 sec CD.
sick ’em (improved version) -> command your pet to kill your target giving to the target the revealed malus (8sec), dealing 60% increased damage (6sec) and giving aoe might (12 stacks (12sec); your pet also gain quickness and swiftness(6sec). After 6 sec your pet die. 60 sec CD.
so that’s all for me… what do you think? in your opinion will never ANet take in consideration those kind of suggestions? Thank you for reading and your time.

As you said no expansion is in program for now and ever… someone from arenanet said in a review that “gw2 is an evolving game” there will never be gw3 but maybe gw2.5 so if you are sure that “new class = new expansion” mechanism can’t be changed this means that we will never have a new class :<
so, can we get a serious answer from devs giving us all the clarification about this topic?
it would be enough for me also if devs say:
“yes, a new class is in program for the next month (or 2)” or
“no, no new classes in program for the next month (or 2)” .
oh, thank you both for answers… i really enjoy actual classes but i’m a big fan of heavy armors and while i actually love 100% of my guardian i can’t do so with my warrior (it seems to me only a one-shot class with big numbers and nothing else) :<

now i know that this is, obviously, an unofficial notice but:
is this a leak (from something they told in a ready up for example), simply a proposal from players or something of more concrete?

The gear in the boxes is PvP-only.
Keep in mind that just today Arenanet announced that they aregoing to revamp the rewardsystem for sPvP. on March 18th, Glory will be removed as a reward and also the glory rank merchants that sell these boxes will be removed on that date. For any remaining glory you might have left over, the generic glory merchant will remain, atleast for some time.
This is the first step in the revamp off the reward system in sPvP. Not much is known, but as I understand, they want rewards for sPvP be more in line with PvE rewards. This might include a change that pvp-only gear becomes usable in PvE and the other way around.
More information will be released soon. -edit- tonights livestream is not bout sPvP. I heard someone talking bout it, and when i saw the announcement I just assumed it was bout pvp and didn’t read carefully. bad me-

after last patch i heard a lot of people talk about “i lost 10-20 fps” and that is the truth.
Yesterday, randomly, i finded a possible solution for the problem (at least i gained about 20 fps after it):
if you are “shaderFX”, or similiar, user remove them.
Something with the last patch was causing fps drops and possible crashes in game. The difference for me is enormous:
before patch & shader FX -> LA (40-50 fps all medium)
before patch (with shader FX) -> LA (40-50 fps all medium and few things on low)
after patch (with shader FX) -> LA (30-35 fps with only few things on medium and the rest on low)
after patch & without shader FX -> LA (58+ fps all medium and 30-40 fps all max/ultra)
so ArenaNet did an excellent work with the last patch and i’m pretty sure the problem woul be this program also for you.

Also i want to let you know that the “quantity of codes” created by anet during the last year is more than any expansion you can find in other games (the only difference is that 50% or more of content was up only for about a month).

I only want to remember you that you are playing a P2B game, updated every 2 weeks (no matter how and if well or not) with the possibility to buy from gem store with in game money. Guys came on! Until these “advantages” (P2W ? really? you must play other MMO to learn what Pay To Win is) are “a bit more RESOURCES” (do you consider gatering as an advantage? it isn’t… not in gw2) it is perfectly fine for me because ArenaNet really deserve some money for their hard work, even if this isn’t their aim. The only thing we can ask more to ArenaNet is a little discount on gems with $/€ and in game golds this will make shop less “omg it is Pay To Win!!!” (kids…) and more “new stuff on the store… i can give them a try”.

first of all i want to say that this discussion is already up on “reddit” but i want to share here with you my thoughts:
at the current state world bosses are a bit frustating for the most (i’m not one of them but the following change will make me really happy anyway) because of the alway random loot which 90% of times is “2 blue and 1green” (yes that’s the truth… but don’t forget the yellow from chest! XD)
Anyway a good solution in my opinion will be to introduce tokens from world bosses! so there is always a good reason to play and kill them looking not for a “random item” but for a “particular skin” obtained with tokens.
Since there are too many different world bosses i think that the best way to improve this "theoretical " token system will be:
1) 3 new token types:
-1 for common WvW bosses (like behemoth, for their characteristic skins (like “final rest”))
-1 for dragons (dragons are supposed to be the biggest enemy of the game so they deserve a slot for typical armor/weapon inspired to the theme)
- 1 for living sotry world bosses (like marionette & wurms, giving for a good amount of tokens the chance to excanghe them for black lion claim tickets)
2) improve an adeguate rewarding system which gives you more token for long and hard boss (like tequatl)
3) make the quantity of tokens given not so high because world boss can be farmed easily and this will destroy the economy (so for example: 1 token from shatterer, 2 token from jormag, 3 token from tequatl and 100 (or so) tokens for a skin(armor or weapon this is another question)
also make skins soulbound may help…
so what’s you thoughts about? do you approve? if you have a better idea on how to manage those token feel free to write here.

as title i’m back on my mesmer, the last time i played was october 2013… so i really need your help:
can you suggest me a build which is avaiable for pve (mainly) and for wvw (zerg not solo roaming) ? my actual build is a shattercat one (one from osicat, staff/sword-focus power build) but i really don’t remember why i choose this one and if it is actually effective… my other choice will be phantasmal build but i don’t know the baseline of this set.
So please give me some good starting points for the actual state of the mesmer in pve/wvw.

- restart with my mesmer (i usually go with shattercat/phantom build)
- start a new elementalist
but the real problem is:
clones or attudements? portal or weapons?
i’m a bit more for elementalist because i don’t think a mesmer can bring much to the party (yes quikness and portal are good but what else?) while i find weapons really interesting…
so please tell me more about this final decision (based on your pve/wvw(zergs not solo roaming) experience)… and of course the race MUST be asura :P (also for the great racial utility and … what about the elite golems?!)(the only 2 races i like are charr and asura)

i got 3 classes to max level and i find out that it is really important to learn as much as possible about your class in order to know it instead of making 10+ chars and dont understand which one is their role in pve/wvw/pvp.
Now i maxed (with gear and, i guess, skill) 2 classes: guardian and ranger (at moment i’m not having a burst for my mesmer (also lvl 80 and with full exotic gear/ascendent jewels) … )
So i want to ask you: which class do you suggest me to try at this time?
i’m looking for a class which can bring some funny, usefull and unusual stuffs to the party (especially talking about pve/wvw).
initially i was indeed between engineer and necromancer… but now… i’m starting to think about an elementalist (?) … or why not focus again on my mesmer?
So in your opinion which class (excluding guardian and ranger) can bring funny/usefull stuffs which other classes can’t?

as DEVS said the first “living world season” is coming to end but now let’s talk about the next “season”: what do you would like to see?
Personally, as a new expansion (chapter, season or wathever) i would really like to see new classes and/or races and a new aggressive enemy (where is zhaitan? was it supposed to be our previous “big enemy”? or scarlet?) and i want to underline “aggressive” because i can’t define scarlet so.
Also can someone summarize what devs said in the last video about the 2014? (sry but i haven’t enough time to see the entire video, and i don’t understand wery well the spoken english, so i need even more time to learn if something of new was revealed )
i bet you use windows 7 (maybe 32bit with 2bg of ram)!
anyway i know there are some problems with windows 7 OS but i don’t know why and don’t know how…
