Im loving the new damage but they should have left it auto target with the same effect like a homing missile so far ive had it crit about 13k not to shabby

Should’ve made it a slow homing projectile.

Something like Gyrocopter from DotA.

It would be similar to Homing Torpedo from our UW wep.

Btw. the change of the Rocket Turret Toolbelt is a serious slap in the face for SD Builds … just tested it out. The Damage is still the same nothing changed aside from making it harder to target and that SD not really reliable anymore.

And destroying Turrets doesn’t trigger SD anymore. WTF?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!

Uh, two questions:

1. Why were you using a crappy toolbelt like the old rocket turret toolbelt in an SD build?
2. How were you hitting things with the destruction-procced SD?

If you aim your invisible reticle manually, non targeted toolbelt abilities will fire where you’re aiming.

I’m not even playing, at this point, as I’m protesting a lack of bugfixes by not signing on. If they ever actually fix Turret bugs, I’ll play.

I’ll probably use Turrets and Gadgets, when I do, as I just don’t really like the speed-piano of Kits (and would play an Elementalist if I did), or the RNG of Elixirs.

Whats wrong with Turrets exactly? They now focus on the same enemy you are attacking, which is amaaazing. Just tested it out a little bit on karka, dropped two turrets and was shocked how much that damage helped. Didnt WVW with it yet

Oh look, it died, 50 second cooldown, hope you didn’t want that utility slot.

This is the sort of thing I was talking about.

They just hot fixed the Chaos Storm bug so it no longer does 16k dmg per tic.

It’s possible for them to just jump in and quickly adjust the numbers, why then, are terrible skills/traits completely ignored? Why aren’t they just given some band aid fixes right away? I really don’t get it.

I apologize for my demands and frustration devs, but this sort of thing has been grating on me for a year now.

At this point I just wish Anet would stop balancing so carefully for the meta.

I’d really just prefer they go in and actually fix the stuff that sucks or is broken, and make everything fun and strong, obviously toning down the things that are overboard.

At this point, you really need to just make the game fun, but that’s just my opinion. It baffles me how some skills/traits that are outright GARBAGE, continue to not get any love, not even a quick band aid fix to help it along.

Like it’s frustrating to see Mesmer Sceptre Auto continue being terrible even since beta, then seeing the balance team on livestream say “we don’t know what to do with it”, then go and buff the skills that don’t need to be buffed further condemning the auto to being unbuffed.

I just don’t understand how that works, is it really too complicated or difficult to change a few numbers to just buff something that is clearly very bad? That is an honest question, I don’t know how your engine/editor is set up so it’s impossible for me to really say, compared to me just modding certain games and tweaking things.

For example, and I’m being slightly biased here of course, but take Engineers. The few changes they got this patch were nice, I admit that, but it was just a “few” changes. How come Flamethrower’s terrible auto hasn’t gotten a buff? I find it hard enough to take it over bomb kit in the first place, but then bomb gets some (needed) love, why can’t you just change a few numbers and make Flamethrower Auto hit harder, even if just in PvE?

Or how come Turrets are still incredibly clunky to use? Why can’t you just lower the cooldown on the 50 SECOND cooldown turrets to something more reasonable? Or make the “pick up” cooldown a flat 10-15 second cooldown so they aren’t useless in PvE or any time you need to move (which is like 95% of the game).

I understand you’re being careful with balance, but when outright terrible abilities are completely ignored, when they could just be given a quick band-aid fix, I just… don’t understand.

Anyway, there’s my rant.

It is incredibly disturbing to see things like on the livestream such as :

So instead of changing/reworking/bandaid-fixing/anything the garbage Auto, you decide to buff the 2 good skills it has that don’t need any buffs? This sort of thing just absolutely blows my friggin mind. I just paused the video, and sat there staring in absolute awe.

No wonder, why I’m blocked on YT by ANet.

Please ANet, stop to avoid critique and censore the community.
We all want to improve our game.

This would make a lot more sense of most forums posts weren’t negative. Since most are negative, I would have to question the fact that Anet simply censors posts. I am one of the people who defend the game more than most, and I get infractions quite frequently and often my posts are removed.

/conspiracy theory

That’s probably because all that does is start flame wars and are useless posts.

I’m not sure where the need to come in and defend Anet just because people have a problem with something in the game comes from, you’re not balancing the “negativity” with your “positivity”, you just make it worse and derail threads that way. You should just remain neutral and discuss the topic on hand.

No one here is condoning abusive behavior, it shouldn’t be encouraged, I just say that it also shouldn’t be dismissed completely. Doesn’t affect me much since I do post constructively.

Because most combos are pretty much useless.

There’s a few that actually make an impact, the only one that makes an impact in terms of dmg boosting would obviously be Fire Blast finishers, but that’s it.

Stacking even more poison/burning through projectiles is useless lol.

I personally think they should do a revamp on some of the combo finishers, like making Fire actually add a flat amount of dmg to projectiles or something. Something that makes you actually WANT to combo all the time.

If I see a fire field, then I should want to get over there and fire my projectiles through it.

I don’t know about that but a lot of the time people express their reasons at the same time as writing their abusive post. However abusive it may be, the reasons should be considered professionally without being thrown into the trash because they were not written constructively. Like I said, some people just don’t have patience left. Ever been jerked around by customer support so much that you just get reallllly realllly kitten ed off? Try ringing your internet service provider? “yes sir, we have put that order in for you, a technician is scheduled to come to your place in the next 2-3 days”, ring back 4 days later, new guy says, there is no such order placed under your account. Ha ha ha…

You get what i’m saying? I don’t promote abusive feedback, I’m just saying, don’t ignore it, don’t fight it, extract what’s useful and move on.

Why would anyone spend time extracting stuff from rants, when there are plenty of perfectly well-written posts to read? Time is a limited commodity.

If the rants had good criticism/suggestions, and the perfectly well-written posts had terrible criticism/suggestions, then that would be bad for the game. It’s pretty much a lose/lose situation for everyone really, everyone is guilty in that case.

The thing about the devs you have to understand, is that they’re human beings. Show a little empathy. Sugar coating things might feel like an unnecessary hoop to jump through, but put yourself in their shoes. How would you feel if somebody walked up to you and critiqued something you created? If its productive and positive, your reaction is going to be different than if its rude and condescending. This isn’t rocket science, people.

Yes, we get that.

I definately get that, I always utilize empathy with 99% of my posts to the devs. But that goes both ways. Devs should be able to understand why a player is frustrated and why they’re lashing out, which is something Riot devs used to describe a lot.

“We understand our players frustrations, and we feel the same about said issue, and it shows how passionate our players are about our game.” I’ve seen Riot devs say something like that quite a few times in the past, they get it.

Anet has shown this too of course, I’m not accusing anyone of anything here, just posting it as an example.

Maybe I’m different, but when I receive criticism for something I care about improving, I don’t want BS, I want honesty and can take criticism. Then again I’m the kind of person that used to actually ENJOY dealing with angry customers as customer service lol.

Let me offer up an example of how to offer constructive criticism. It’s based on a positive attutide system called praise —> correct the issue --> praise again. It starts off being a positive introduction so as to not get them on the wrong foot, evaluates and offers correction to the problem or issue at hand, then praises them again to continue their efforts to correcting the issue.

Destructive criticism, by contrast, is precisely the opposite… and will see the biggest wall of defence put up so that nothing is said that can impact a person’s decision to change something (for better or worse) can get through.

The forums are largely the latter.

Having said this, I’ll provide an example of why Anet needs to listen more attentively to it’s playerbase than what it does. Say there’s an RNG issue or a particular in-game mechanic that needs to be dealt with, when someone on the forums creates a topic and arcs up about it, and the following 9-10 posters all agree that something needs to be done about it, with minimal resistance or fact bias to the counter, then by all means Anet should pay heed and correct it.

However, often is the case that someone is criticised of qq’ing on the forums, and the message of the OP is lost in a wall of confusion by some supporting and others opposing the OP’s viewpoint. This is where Anet gets lost and deems this topic and it’s respective issue to be thrown into the too-hard basket forever more, and the thread is lost in the annals of the forums.

Bringing up an issue on the forums would be more well-received if it were delivered with a constructive criticism method than just open up with a bunch of flaming, either from the OP or the respondants to the thread. This might even actually get a dev to respond directly to the topic at hand.

This exactly, this is what I’m talking about.

Both parties are guilty of this, arguable the complainers even less so.

Threads get derailed so often because of this.

By giving a single valid example, doesn’t mean all, or even the bulk of examples are valid.

You should try the profession forums to see some spectacularly bad suggestions.

I’ve also seen suggestions that all server transfers should be free…but when we had free server transfers, the WvW people were completely up in arms.

I’ve seen suggestions the game should be made harder and others that the game should be made easier. Are both suggestions valid?

I’ve seen suggestions that Anet needs to introduce raids, more gear grind and mounts…is all of that valid.

Most suggestions are just opinions…often from people who have never designed a game in their lives. Professional game developers often do things for reasons, such as the overall good of the game, or to make the game sustainable financially. I’m pretty sure the average forum poster is only looking at the game from their point of view. My profession is underpowered, my profession is OP.

All criticism isn’t going to be valid, because different factions of people can’t even agree on basic things.

Of course it’s valid, it doesn’t mean the suggestion is good, or should be used. I’m sure Anet Devs are competent enough to figure that out, but that doesn’t mean Anet should stop looking at suggestions just because there’s bad ones out there.

Even if a person who doesn’t see the whole picture and has a terrible/biased/greedy suggestion about something can still be useful.

I could make ridiculous overpowered suggestions to buff Flamethrower for Engineers, but that still can show whoever reads it that perhaps Flamethrowers need some love (which they do =p), and make their own changes that fix the problem, or even be inspired by suggestions by a poster.

Someone could also make a ridiculous overpowered suggestion for something that’s already balanced, or even already overpowered, someone who knows what they’re doing will be able to see it’s a bad suggestion and just dismiss it.

So yes, all suggestions/critique are valid.

A new player to the game could come in and complain about how boring the first 20 minutes of the game is. You could argue they haven’t played enough to give it a fair enough judgement, that’s true, but a good dev would still take that players criticism as valuable criticism. First impressions are very important for games, and if there is an issue or lack of interest in the start of the game, even if it’s a small issue, it’s something that can be improved.

That’s not to say, you should turn the game into WoW for a new player who happens to be a huge WoW player that’s complaining about the game, but even that is useful information.

On topic of raids/mounts, I don’t agree with the suggestions (which are basically, implement the exact same thing as other MMO’s), but personally gw2 could easily have it’s own versions of these things.

Mounts = Could just be a bundle item that gives you unique abilities like swiftness, or leaps, or other fun ways to get around (floating/gliding, ice skating movement, double jump etc). And it would also have a “mount” sprite obviously, like say a Jetpack “mount” or even the Halloween Broomstick “mount”. These would be useable only in PvE obviously. But there’s a balanced GW2 spin on mounts.

What would the suggestions for these things show Anet? Demand for said features, and Anet could create their own versions of these sort of things looking at why they are wanted, if they feel it would be beneficial.

What would “mount bundles/mounts” give players? And why do they want it? More cosmetic options/collectibles, as well as normalized movement across classes, such as Mesmers being less mobile for PvE (nothing unbalanced about normalizing it in PvE only). In turn, Anet gets more gem sales for implementing said feature.

Raiding could also have it’s own spin, just a combination of the revamped World Bosses (Tequatl) and Guild Missions, there is no gear treadmill, it wouldn’t be giving any exclusive gear or anything, so why would there be resistance? Aside from it being guild exclusive?

Again, just because a suggestion is bad doesn’t make it useless for Anet.

Here’s my rebuttal: http://www.empoweringparents.com/arguing-with-your-opinionated-child.php

It’s all in the delivery. If you can’t make your point in an adult, educated manner, then Anet is more often then not just going to ignore it. Acting like a child and throwing a tantrum when things don’t go your way is no way to win any arguments. The problem here is that a very large portion of the forum community can not produce an intelligent critique without sounding like an entitled child.

You are correct; praise can be just as harmful as a toxic post, but that does not mean that Anet cherry picks all forms of the prior and lumps all critiques into the latter.

Also, Just because your complaint is not directly addressed does NOT and I can’t stress this enough here, NOT mean they are not listening. There are things going on behind the scenes that we have no idea about. They try to keep us in the loop as best as they can, but they can’t inform us about every single meeting they have with their staff over how the game will develop. Such a task would require more manpower then necessary and would only slow down their own process ultimately damaging the game in the long run.

I’ve seen very few posts that don’t have valid criticism.

There have been heated posts by players (who probably in the moment were irritated because they just experienced the situation and are now posting about it), who have had very valid criticism and even suggestions despite the post itself being slightly hostile.

I understand wanting to encourage well behaved posts/criticism, but you shouldn’t just brush off and completely ignore criticism like that.

Unless the post is completely useless and pathetic like “KITTEN YOU ANET KITTEN KITTEN KITTEN R-kitten KITTEN BALANCE ISSUE KITTEN!”, then Mod’s should just warn/infract and edit posts to tone it down instead of just deleting them outright.

TBH, the most useless posts I see in a lot of threads with valid criticism are people who only come to post to instigate a flame war.

Example :

Irritated Player “This is ridiculous, I got an Ascended weapon drop, but the stat/weapon type is completely useless for me and it’s soulbound, are you kidding me Anet? Why can’t we just choose the weapon type, or stat type, or atleast make it account bound? How hard is that???” (Heated, but valid criticism/suggestion)

Derailer “Wow first world problems much? Get over it, you can craft the weapon you want, Anet is teh awesomes.” (Useless post)

Cue the rage post bickering

Better yet :

Ex-Derailer “That would be frustrating, but it’s not that big of a deal, you can always craft the weapon you want. I personally don’t think they should let you choose the weapon type, but maybe the stat type or make it account bound.” (Much better)

So, according to the preview, it would seem engineers may be near to getting out of beta phase, being able to attack the enemies they want and not having to rely on rng for heavily situational boons that are near useless otherwise. Well, and not having to trait a kit just for it to be useable.
Now we just lack a way to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome while using grenades to fully go gold. Like, dunno, having an autoattack like every other weapon in the game.

While we wait for such basic features, the other classes will continue to get buffed. But it is fine, it isn’t like we’re the least played class of the game.

I actually wouldn’t mind if Grenade Kit #1 just became a basic projectile auto attack with 1200-1500 range.

It would actually give us a long range option in some cases where you have a vertical advantage. For instance using a 1200 range projectile attack can hit targets further than a 1500 range ground target attack.

Or they could take a page from LoL and make Grenades act sort of like Zigg bombs, where they could bounce/roll a little bit after landing on the ground, unless they hit an enemy in which case would just detonate instantly.

I thought it would be at least 6 sec

Weak right? I mean even with +50% boon duration, we’re looking at 6 seconds of stability which takes significant gear dedication. Not only is this short enough to where you have to predict when you’re going to be CC’d (as opposed to having some sort of protection against it), but in some PvE places even when you know it’s coming 4 seconds isn’t enough. Harpy fractal, you might be able to avoid 1 knockback. Maybe. Tequatl, you won’t get knocked back from 1 wave. Yay. In PvP? Well your opponent now has to wait to chain CC you for all of 4 seconds. 6 if you’re geared for it. Compare that to other classes (there I go again, I know) that can basically be immune to CC for the duration of an entire fight with 1 skill. Grr.

I know it’s a small buff to what is already a great setup with HGH, but I’m just bummed about the measly duration. It’s so short I don’t even see a justification for lengthening the Toss B cooldown.

It’s pretty obvious they’re only giving it to us for downed state finishing.

Honestly the buffs to bomb kit could possibly be an overbuff and a disaster depending on what else happens with the patch

Well, I’d say the FT and EG are perfectly fine for what they’re designed to do, but that’s just me.

As for overbuff: I’m less concerned about that. I think that this is a much needed change to make it more viable in zergs and in PvE. Right now you literally have to stand on top of bosses to hit with the auto-attack, which is really awful in a lot of dungeons and world bosses. With Forceful Explosives, 240 radius gives the kit a little more wiggle room.

I don’t see anything flamethrower does that bomb kit doesn’t do better.

They are making it stack in duration, they are making it more common… condi removal is already poorly made (extremely niche) and soooo necessary… now its even more necessary…

lsadg;hl;sadglsa;g’a’sdg

If immobilize didn’t stop dodge rolling it’d be fine… it’d actually fit the condi removal setup Anet made where conditions are supposed to be minor debuffs that don’t require, in every spec, hard counter based answers to it…

lk;sdagh;as;hdsagl;ag;s

Yeah, that’s gonna be disgusting, Immobilize is (IMO) the strongest CC in the game. I even called it overpowered on release. It needed to be toned down if anything, being able to boost it with Cond Duration is nuts.

I find the idea of opportunity cost applied to a game very bizarre.
Not everyone plays the game like the stock market.
Personally I couldn’t care less about money in the game.

As for the time vs profit argument it always makes me laugh because it seems ridiculous applied to a pass time I do for fun.
Fun vs time seems more relevant to me.

All the money I have ever made had just been by playing around like I enjoy to do- I like gathering so I craft with the mats I have, if I have them.
I have never done specific gathering runs
Typically I have a crafting session before I log of.

I like running around and doing DE’s if I get a drop that I don’t like I sell it, if I get a drop I like I will use it regardless of it’s worth on the TP- who cares?

If I see a skin/item I really like I will buy it- the cost doesn’t matter to me because the item gives me pleasure and adds to my enjoyment of the game
This is a game and I play it because it is fun- worth doesn’t come into it.

You don’t have to play the game like it’s the stock market to be efficient. It’s not like it’s rocket science.

I don’t bother playing the TP and only play casually, but even I can judge whether it’s better for me to just buy mats (using w/e I had gathered), rather than 100% gathering all of them for crafting. The convenience alone saves you a ton of time, which is also money.

Why can't "Support" be a more Prominent type?

Bunkers should be turned into supports. Any sort of defense/heal thing that can affect other allies should be made to be stronger for supporting others rather than selfishly.

I don’t know how a Bunker role is fun for anyone in a pvp game.

“Ok so this’s guy’s role is to become as unkillable as possible and sit there while people waste time trying to kill him”

“Oh.. fun..”

This exactly. Don’t make healer supports squishy but definitely lower the self benefit and move it into more friendly support.

Yeah, sort of how Guardian’s Healing Breath heal works, although it’s garbage, but it’s being buffed this patch isn’kitten

It’s the same reason I love the heals and heal combos I can do on my Engy, I just love being able to actually burst/clutch heal others or save them in some way.

This game sort of lacks a lot of the classic support skills just because there’s no “ally targeting”, they should figure out a way to put more OTHER ally support power in the game.

When we get cast bars maybe.

Blindly interupt spam on point isn’t a viable enough reason for me to run it, And every other situation I’d rather just take the strait up 20%

That being said I don’t think it’s a bad trait

I play it without cast bars and it’s way more skill based that way. Spamming blindly will see you lose. I’ve gotten quite good at watching animations to the point where, when cast bars are added, I’ll be really sad.

there’s nothing skillfull spamming rups and deal damage from HS when it counts even on autos… just sayin. The skill isn’t bad but there’s much better options.

You go ahead and interrupt auto attacks. I’ll just interrupt the things that actually matter.

yes, because gw2 has a lot of skills with significantly different cast animations and long casting time worth using a rupt on. I know you said this to sound ‘smart’ but c’mon now, its gw2 we’re talking about… an mmo with no cast bars lmao

I’m the one who has played the build. I do know what I’m talking about.

Really, the only argument you have has already been made by a different person who said; with all the effects noise, the effectiveness of the build drops, which is true. When it comes to animations though, I can tell what abilities to interrupt. Sometimes I spam and in those cases, I find that I’m less effective. In fact I had a fight with a mesmer and in a different situation, a thief, that made that fact quite apparent to me.

So yea, you may believe that GW2 has animation issues (which in some cases, it does) but that hasn’t affected my effectiveness with this build.

okay and what animations are you looking for to interrupt? I mean if all animations were as obvious as the Mass Invis one i’d agree but its far from being the case. No cast bars, same hard to read animations on everyone and not being able to load your skill bar with a lot more rupts than what’s available (you know, to actually make HS truly useful?) is the reason i will never consider HS or run a rupt build for that matter. Its just not effective as its once was in gw1 and will never be like that in gw2 cuz its streamlined to dem casuals.

Do you want me to list every skill I interrupt? To narrow it down, I usually interrupt skills that have cast times longer than a half a second or if I see a distinct animation. The hardest things to interrupt for me are the Engineer turret and Ranger Healing spring heal skills because those are half a second cast times. I catch those sometimes, usually by guessing the percentage people usually decide to heal at but I don’t always get it right.
Yes this isn’t GW1 where you can just stack your bar full of interrupts and laugh your way to the bank but it’s still pretty good and I enjoy playing it. Especially against Necros.

When cast bars are implemented it will make things easier but I’ll enjoy interrupting heals like a pro for now.

After a while you get used to animations, and you can also foretell when your opponent will use something.

Imho we shouldn’t have casting bars, because ( i know it may sound silly) but IRL, if you practice martial arts, you don’t have “cast bars” on your opponent heads saying “HEY BUD, LOW KICK INCOMING !!!” and this “animation based” game is very rewarding if played correctly.

The point is there are tons of undistingued animations (necro for istance), super fast animations with strong effects on low CDs ( withdraw, heal turret, skull crack etc) making absolutely no sense.

Yet interrupts can still be used, and mesmer is by far the best in doing so.

With and interrupt build with Mantra of Distraction, you just deal about 10 k damage on a medium toughness char by simply using MoD and interrupting anything you see has a cast time: you have so many ranged interrupts you’re basically able to completely shut down a dangerous characther ( a necro, for example) while also dealing massive damage with GS ranged shatters.

I think it’s about time to make GW 1 mesmer to come back.

You also aren’t in third person 20 feet above your body while dueling someone IRL, along with fireworks going off all around you.

Lol.

Guardian version is good.

Ele version is worse in comparison.

Sounds about right to me.

I’ve said it a couple of times. Acquiring mats isn’t the topic here.

The topic is that crafting something with mats you didn’t buy doesn’t mean you got a free item. Free would be an item mailed to you. This gives you the item but takes mats that had value. Thus not free.

You give those materials money value. I do not.

So, free for me.

They have money value regardless if you do or don’t personally give them money value lol.

I can’t understand how they can think that crafting something was free since they gathered the mats.

Say that you are out walking. You are hungry and need to eat something. You stumble over a Snickers on the side walk. You pick it up. You can now sell it but since you are hungry you eat it. How much did you pay for that candy bar? In my perspective nothing, since you were hungry and was going to buy something to eat anyways.

What a terrible example.

If you COULD sell it, then yes, you lost out on money in order to eat it.

No one is gonna hustle a snickers bar.

Need some Quality of Life improvement in this. Could you improve the special effect of FIELDS. Water field and light field for some skill look too much like each other. Sometimes its hard to tell. How about blue circles around water field and yellow circles around light field

Also make downed icons different to target icons. Maybe make target icons much larger. Currently they both look the same. Red arrow pointing downwards

I think all fields could use some sprucing up here.

Add a nice looking unique border for each field.

It’s like the part of the brain that holds the concept of “Opportunity Cost” is nothing but an empty vacuum of space, sucking in stray brain cells.

When I gather and craft some thing myself. I feel I’ve earned it and I can use the gold I have to go else where.

If I simply buy the mats off the TP. It feels like cheating and cheapens the feeling of accomplishing some thing.

Gathering gold and using it to buy stuff makes me feel like I’ve earned it.

Just like gathering dungeon tokens to buy gear makes you feel like you’ve earned that gear.

They should really just let everyone zoom out. I see no reason why not.

If these are allowed then we should able to do so w/o having to resort to gimmicky stuff like a jacked up windowed mode.

I'm really missing energy mechanics from GW1

I would like it just so it’s not possible to be 90% effective doing nothing but running in circles with #1 on auto.

I would also like it just because it could let us have short cooldowns (same reason Thieves have no cooldowns), and because we could have higher risk/reward attacks like Kill Shot.

Not enough skills!

I’m still with ArenaNet in the sense that there’s a lot more depth in this game than people give it credit. You can pick any utility you want, any trait and best of all, there’s combos that literally customize your attacks on the fly.

What I see here is mostly warriors that play their profession as a faceroll auto attacker and then complain about being bored.

How many of you play an elementalist or engineer and have the same complaint?

Actually, psychological studies have indicated that people get happier if they have less choices.

This is a game not life. Games that give much more player customization are always better well received.

The studies were about ice cream. Also, show me the statistical evidence of your ‘always’.

People think they’ll happier with more options, but often when they do they’re not happier.

Just look at the elementalist. It’s just as viable as a warrior, but people complain about having to do more for the same effort.

Sigh (ice cream isn’t a game). Ele was my first main char, and now I play Engy.

Ele has probably the least customization of all classes in the game. They have more skills and that’s nice, I loved the extra complexity, but the class isn’t rewarded for it whatsoever, it’s also a fundamentally flawed class design wise. Engy is basically the same but not nearly as messed up, so I’m enjoying Engy since it probably has some of the most diversity of the classes atm.

Your argument also makes no sense. One, you compare ice cream to customization in a game (lol). Then compare a kitten class that requires way more effort for LESS results of other classes, which has NOTHING to do with playstyle customization, that’s talking about risk vs reward.

Again this isn’t about asking to have more skills available for use at any given moment (like Ele having 20), it’s about having more customization of whatever number of skills you’re able to use.

GW1 could only use 8 at any given time, but had LOADS more customization. And again, I don’t care if there was only a certain amount of “viable” builds for top level of play. I played GW1 casually, and spent HOURS literally HOURS just making new builds constantly, no matter how “bad” they may be at top level of play, they worked just fine casually and was incredibly fun.

I don’t think anyone could sit there and say with a straight face that people like having no customization in a game versus having customization in a game. People like to be different/unique, and like to be able to play games that fit their exact playstyles.

Having less choices of ice cream is irrelevant. You don’t see these icecream-hipsters walking in and saying “what’s the least eaten ice cream, I want that one”.
