It will never happen. Because we don’t get exspantions, we get “living story”.

RuneScape has beening effectively doing this LS thing for 12 years, they’ve pumped out expansion-worthy content faster than most games.

Yeah but runescape is runescape. aint hard to add content to an easy engine.

Oh cmon, don’t pretend it’s hard to add a chore list such as “kill 10 rabbits”, which is funny since people always mocked other MMO’s for that.

Part of the appeal of having immobile turrets/pets is that they have a lot of strength to make up for it and make them powerful area denial tools.

Then why are Turrets SO weak? The damage is terrible when compared to Phantasms and MM have access to health leeching, condition removal AND they move could even trait for then they die they explode dealing damage and creating a poison AoE

Turrets = Low damage, High cooldown. Doesnt quite seem right to me…

Ask anet.

If they make it mobile they’ll NEVER be buffed then.

10 Seconds on pick up for all turrets except healing turret. Now they’re useful…. EASY

To be entirely honest, turrets won’t work in many cases until they can be mobile. Even in tpvp and spvp where there are points to defend turrets are just not viable.

Give them the ability similar to rangers:

Grandmaster Trait XI Spirits Unbound Spirits can move and follow you.

turrets have fanbelts attached to them like the hacked robots of bioshock and move with you. This would be Grandmaster Trait in inventions. They don’t need buffing they just need to move.

What makes turrets appealing is the fact that they’re strong yet immobile to have strong area denial/punish.

They need a really low cooldown on pick up, that will instantly fix the mobility issues.

And nullify the use of tool kit and traits for turret repair. The only way this could work is if ANet stored the state of a picked up turret, so that it has the same health as when it was picked up and so on.

What? They’re already squishy as hell, who cares if someone could pick it up and place it down 10 seconds later to heal it….

That’s still 10 seconds of no turret lol..

The bug is fixed now. I got both empyreal fragments and trick or treat bags in the chest yesterday. It also counted for daily activity.

It’s still not worth doing because they NERFED it compared to last year.

2-3 bags per completion is nothing.

Who’s idea was it that a 3 condi cleanse potentially every 10 seconds on a T2 trait was a good idea? Lmao

It was suggested by a well-known forum warrior this spring. It received huge support from the forum community—after all, warriors didn’t have any traits rewarding the use of adrenaline, just traits that benefited from it being full. Both top-tier and casual players voiced their support.

Whoa whoa whoa…. lets not give him the wrong idea….. The suggestion was posed by the one and only ********** . Widely known for his horrible suggestions to the Warrior profession. I will say in his defense though, this one suggestion was exactly what the Warrior profession needed (but I must also add that it was suggested a couple times before by different people in slightly different ways).

I will also add in, the adrenaline dump on miss, block, missfire, etc has been asked for many times before Cleansing Ire was ever mentioned. The hand holding mechanics in this game is why a lot of the really good pvpers left in the first place. Such as, Thief not losing stealth on blocked, missed, missfire, etc attacks from stealth.

Cleanse on adrenaline skill usage isn’t really bad design IMO. But x3 cleanse potentially every 10 seconds as a TIER 2 TRAIT? That’s just ludicrous. If it was T3 I could understand.

But man, my jaw dropped when I came back to the game and saw that lmao. Basically mandatory for every build.

Keep in mind, Helseth is perma banned on the fo rums (he explains why at 01:52:15).

So, how exactly is he supposed to contact the developers? If the developers arent trying to reach him and he is banned on the forums, what other methods does he have than his own stream?

Helseth is not the only player who says things like this, if you go through his broadcasts on his channel you’ll find other players such as Xeph and Denshee saying the same things about these topics.

You’d think that the players wouldnt be this disgruntled if the developers tried to actively communicate with them and listened to what they said.

All in all, it seems like a very cheap move from Allie. She claims that she tries to talk to the top players yet they simply refuse to respond, shifting the blame on the players (as we can see here from the comments) when the players in topic are players that either left the game or are banned on the forums.

why should any one invite that rude person? the first minute after 1:43:05 he offend posters on this forum. and its right that he is banned. we dont need another insulting person. i hasnt seen his posts but i can imagine how they where.

Lol I can only imagine if Riot was as carebear and didn’t pay attention to it’s top (yet rude) players.

But w/e, the ball’s in Anet’s court (and has been for over a year heh), I don’t really care anymore. I’m not putting my hope in the game anymore, up to them if they really want to fix the game. /shrug

Our weapons are mainly for utility rather than damage though.

Jump shot does a ton of damage if you’re running power.

Because nothing is new, in fact, it’s the same content but made WORSE.

A lot of the rewards were nerfed so they’re not worth doing. Lab was made more annoying with less rewards.

Reapers Rumble just… vanished.

The new thing : a 2 minute little rushed story instance thing. “Oh hey there’s this prince guy.. Ok he’s dead put him back in, the end”

This is incredibly lazy. Anet is basically skipping an entire update piggy backing off of last years content with virtually nothing new, and then even nerfed what we had last year.

On top of the insane weapon skin grind….. and you wonder why people are hating on it.

If they were to continue with LW nonsense during this it would’ve been fine… but they’re just using rehashed (and nerfed) holiday content to replace a whole LW update, that’s just lazy.

Excellent post.

As a former game developer, I’ve been defensive of ANet, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. The video wherein ANet employees couldn’t find an old, oft-used Ranger trait, and where both devs acted bored about the class — well, that destroyed my faith. I’m not one to kitten about my class, but that video was pathetic and dispiriting for people who favor rangers. Some of us, most of us, take the class seriously.

This “balance patch” did little to increase class or build diversity for any class.

As for content updates, they are beyond disappointing. The world is far from living. The stories are disconnected for players, and Scarlet invasions only reinforce zerging as a primary form of play.

I still enjoy many aspects of the game, and plan to stick around for awhile. But with so many games on the market, GW2 should strive to be more.

This too..

I sat there watching them “We dun know what to do with mesmer sceptre”, and then they buff #2/3 which were already more than fine…. it’s just… wow.

It’s really hard to defend them after seeing stuff like this.

As a Pve ’er my main problem with the game is how broken Risk vs. Reward is. The fact that you make equal if not more money running in a champ train over running the most difficult content (arah/48+ fractals) blows my mind.

We need INSTANCED elite content as well. PvE is way to easy right now.

Risk/Reward is messed up everywhere in the game.

Pvp balance especially.

My biggest grievance with the game is the lack of skills/build variety and just…. “FUN”.

Still over a year in and still no new traits/skills, and on top of that, skill/traits that have been garbage since beta… are still garbage… Over a year in.. Cmon now.

Tequatl still gets done on some servers and guesting is free. Anyone who insists on getting it done on their server is being stubborn.

The store down the block from where I live was out of milk. Now I have to go without milk. It’s a tragedy. Why doesn’t my store have milk….I mean I have to go to the next shop now, and that’s a couple of blocks away. Oh the pain.

Teq still gets done. The Karka Queen still gets done. You can join a server that does them both if you want…or you can post to the forums and never get your achievement.

It’s better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

On the topic of other boss redesigns, I’m pretty sure none of them will require the coordination of Tequatl. Anet does learn from these things, the way they learned from the original Karka event.

You seem to think that if it is getting done on 1 server, everyone can get it done, you forget that server gets full, then people get thrown into overflows, then what, it dont get done. This is what is in store for every dragon event in the soon to be future.

And no, Anet learned nothing from Karka Queen, they never learn, look what they did to WvW, they don’t learn, they think they know everything already.

My bad, just realized who I was responding to, might as well be responding to a wall…

It’s sad especially when players actually predict exactly what will happen because of these bad decisions….

An event that ‘requires’ 80+ people? That’s a mistake right off the bat.

What I mean by all this is… this is the first world problems of first world problems.

It’s like the 1%ers of problems. If you’re honestly raging about competitive balance in COSTUME BRAWLS… how the hell do you play this game long enough to even get into costume brawls in the in first place?

The same could be said for people who complain about spvp. Many don’t play that mode and it doesn’t matter to them if it’s imbalanced as hell yet we are all expected to care when something becomes OP flavor of the month.

sPvP is a distinct game mode that is designed (in theory) with balance in mind.

Costume Brawls are a diversion within an already existing mode. Balance would be nice, sure, but it rightfully should be WAY down on the list of concerns for the developers. Is it even INTENDED to be balanced for that matter? If not… you might as well be farting into the wind.

What the hell is the point of mini game if you just make it P2W? There’s a reason no one plays it lol.

Costume Brawl would’ve worked really well with a MOBA-style minigame like Reapers Rumble, where each costume is like a “champion/hero” to choose from.

It would be pointless with overpowered cash shop costumes though.

“PvE isn’t meant to be balanced guys, it’s ok that X class is able to literally one shot mobs while the rest can’t, it doesn’t matter, it’s just PvE”

What do people expect with a RANGED based class? Everyone acts like the class is supposed to be fun. It’s Ranged!

Every time I have watched a Ranged class PVP video I paint my entire apartment and watch it dry. It’s honestly more fun. Ranged is Ranged, it’s never going to be “ZOMG!”. Standing back and watching missiles shoot to your enemy will never be exciting.

OK so you know how I see Ranged Classes. Now take a Ranged class and toss it into GW2. Ever watched paint dry with a microscope?

I play mostly ranged in every game and there are such things as fun ranged classes…

There are boring melee classes too, this game is full of them lmao.

The game is auto attack dominated, more so than ANY game I’ve ever played.

Yeah, universal skills are a bad way to go. This isn’t the “new skills” people were asking for…

I imagine it’s only going to be for this dungeon, like toxin will just be the new “agony” or w/e.

No, I suspect people just wanted skills to make their own, preferred class stronger.

Just pointing out, Rifle already has a skill that does just this. Overcharged Shot.

Would make more sense to put it on Jump Shot instead, then just remove the dmg from the first part of it, and make Overcharged Shot do a little jump backwards instead of a self-knockback, like Shortbow’s evasion sort of leap.

He mastered the universe, he went to an alien planet and conquered it after learning and mastering telekinesis, then went to another alien planet and learned how to control the universe/reality with his mind, now he controls the universe.

(And sometimes it was just fun to kick’s someone’s butt while playing an ‘underdog’ build) If they want to accomplish similar here, only using things like witches and skeletons, then they need to treat those skills similarly to any other game skill, and balance those builds as well. Which is simply more work for them.

I didn’t say pay to win. If they balanced it properly, nothing you purchased would be any stronger than what you could get by jumping in the cauldron. Which is sort of what the general premise of what I was saying was.

I’m saying it’s P2W. Which destroys any chance of CB being balanced and fun.

The lack of flexibility is what makes me hate it.

You pretty much have to have rifle turret to get the most use out of it, which is basically just giving up a utility slot for 1 extra attack.

If there were shorter toolbelt skills available and it procced on your target no matter what I would like it more.

i has talked with allie and they invite players across the board who give constructive feedback to chatrounds via ventrilo with other devs. they said that not all ppl even the one “who care” take the invite. so i see no positive voice to the player community via youtube.. would be nice if the person would take the invite.

Some top players are just getting tired of giving feedback and seeing on a next patch it failed for THEM, some are just to ranting on it which is understandable as it takes so long, I actually do understand the devs for implementing stuff and then give everyone time to adjust to it but the thing is top players are almost instantly responding to it while casual players are just taking a longer time to adjust, again there needs to be a SEPERATION on balance, you need those top players to balance out things fast and to see what is wrong, you cant balance for both, that is just not possible because if you try it fails for either TOP players or CASUAL players.

And again leave balance to TOP players, leave all the rest you can have an input on on casual players, some TOP players are well known here, they spended so much time on the game, way more time then the devs itselfs.

Running in circles for 10 minutes waiting for the INEVITABLE victory isn’t fun.

It’s pretty much impossible to lose as a ghost. Basically the last person standing just misses a reward, as their reward.

To people complaining about Halloween being better last year, it’s almost exactly the same as last year (the only real difference is no Reaper’s Rumble, but let’s face it that’s not what made last year’s event so great).

The real problem here isn’t that this year’s is worse than last year’s, it’s that players are getting tired of these mundane, repetitive, drawn out and time gated achievement hunting for an item every other player will also get.

You might love chocolate, but if you’re forced to eat a chocolate bar every single day eventually you won’t be able to stand chocolate anymore.

Since all they’re giving us is more of the same achievement chasing with shallow content to back it up and non existing rewards, it’s only natural players are less than thrilled with these events.

The reason most players remember last year’s Halloween as their favorite event is because it was the very first event we had. It was new and interesting and exciting, now it’s just boring.

Except, it was made worse than last years lol.

I don’t think so, it’s virtually the exact same. In fact this one is more well polished than last year.

Fixed some of the camera issues in the Tower, fact you don’t have 20 people with you is an improvement. The fact they’re giving us more time to do the achievements is better. Rewards are generally better, they fixed the worthlessness of some items such as candy corn.

Best of all, we’re not being forced into an almost entirely blind scavenger hunt in which we will almost certainly need to read a guide. I must admit though I enjoyed the scavenger hunt, wish they did it again but better implemented this year.

Overall we got more of the same, nothing is arguably better or worse. A few improvements here and annoyances there but overall just more of the same.

It’s the same, but made worse, and nerfed.

I think of it as another grenade barrage that you can chain up, sure you sacrifice a fair bit of utility (I use toolkit rocket turret grenades, so no stunbreak, but I run in a wvw organized group of 10-15, so I have near perma stability and lots of supporty friends)

And as the team nuke, the ability to lob another “grenade barrage” gives my team the damage needed to put multple people into the floor in that crucial second

Damage wise, the average crit of the rocket does around 8k-13k per man (on my build, zerker supreme) couple that with 8k-24k grenades barrage followed by a 5k-17k rifle jump, and you have a very potent combo, all at aoe point blank or max range too.

Of course, I’m not saying that it’s the end all solution, but it sure is a breath of fresh air from the other engy builds that I’m sure everyone is so used to. At the end of the day, don’t we all play engy for those fun quirky builds?

As long as people continue to settle, we won’t get anything fixed around here lol..

There shouldn’t be a hard restriction on all armor types anyway.

They should just put a [L] [M] [H] symbol on skins that let you transmute regardless of armor type.

Like say a piece of heavy armor whose skin is actually mostly cloth or leather or something, it would have [L] [M] [H] indicating that it can be transmuted onto light, medium, and heavy armor.

Just gotta look at the base duration for bleeds/burning/poison and calculate it.

3 second bleed (sharpshooter trait) gains 1 tic every 33% roughly.

5 second bleed gains 1 tic every 20%.

4 second bleed gains 1 tic every 25%.

Etc… non damaging ones it doesn’t matter the duration.

You’re giving up a utility slot for a grenade attack that hits slightly harder but with a much longer delay…..

Just compare it to a single hit of Shrapnel Grenade.

i has talked with allie and they invite players across the board who give constructive feedback to chatrounds via ventrilo with other devs. they said that not all ppl even the one “who care” take the invite. so i see no positive voice to the player community via youtube.. would be nice if the person would take the invite.

Some top players are just getting tired of giving feedback and seeing on a next patch it failed for THEM, some are just to ranting on it which is understandable as it takes so long, I actually do understand the devs for implementing stuff and then give everyone time to adjust to it but the thing is top players are almost instantly responding to it while casual players are just taking a longer time to adjust, again there needs to be a SEPERATION on balance, you need those top players to balance out things fast and to see what is wrong, you cant balance for both, that is just not possible because if you try it fails for either TOP players or CASUAL players.

And again leave balance to TOP players, leave all the rest you can have an input on on casual players, some TOP players are well known here, they spended so much time on the game, way more time then the devs itselfs.

Mortar Elite needs a Buff.

I’m not familiar with the gw1 elite concept how would mortar be affected by a gw1 type elite?

Elites were often more or less stronger versions of other skills. Their cooldowns weren’t horrendous and useless, usually having reasonably short cooldowns or having a lasting effect of similar duration to the cooldown. Builds were usually based around the elite, instead of them being some tacked on thing like they are now.
In gw1 mortar elite would most likely pretty much be a better version of grenade kit. However, there would be a large selection of elites instead of just 3 so you could actually make varied decisions on what to bring, unlike now where nearly everyone uses the same elite due to how few there are and how useless many of them are.

Sadly this game isn’t GW1 based much at all so this is moot lol. Here cooldowns of 30 are reasonable, I remember when I thought MS took forever to recharge. I’m all for more elites, but I think an elite kit would make it extremely biased to engineer since we would pretty much have it up all the time. Anet should make the elite turret a proper turret. We all thought TF2 when the engineer was announced and they even gave us a healing wrench to go with a “dispenser”. Now gimmie the proper turret, and hats XD

There were elites that were 30 seconds…

It’s basically like they were normal Utility skills here… but stronger because it’s an elite version.

What they should’ve done imo is make the Elite slot a normal utility slot, but w/e you slot in it becomes “elite”.

This game is not supposed to be balanced. Ever. The odds are greatly in the ghosts favor, and that is exactly how its supposed to be. Think hide-n-seek meets a horror movie.

What fun is that?…

And it’s hardly hide n seek, it’s pretty much impossible to hide with nameplates giving everyone away.

Yeah, just run around in circles for 10 minutes waiting for my inevitable victory while getting a few kills here and there. Fun the first few times then becomes a chore. I was hoping they would’ve expanded or improved the minigame, it has potential. /shrug

Yeah, I wish they would’ve just given up on hardcore balancing and esports long ago, we could’ve had a fun game then, and would actually be closer to esports that way.

It’s just so depressing. I wanna enjoy this game.

I remember how LoL came to be, it was just a fun game, with variety, constant new champs, pure casual fun. THEN the “scene” just formed itself out of that casual playerbase.

Like bacteria or mold, just give it the proper environment to thrive and it’ll just happen on it’s own. Instead Anet is trying to create it’s own synthetic bacteria/mold out of thin air in a petri dish. =/

Should’ve just given us a warm, moist environment Anet.
