If it can’t stack intensity then at least let its duration stack, it sucks having 20 seconds of aegis, someone uses “Shield of Judgment” and suddenly the duration goes from 20 to 4. With pve and the slow attacks of bosses you loose it before he even hits you in these situations.

But at the same time locking to a legend and not letting us pick the utility will make revenant leveling suck (at least now the first utility skill I pick can help give me speed or survival). I can see it now the first utility skill unlocked will be taunt because of its amazing usefulness with leveling up. =)

I don’t think anyone is even remotely as excited or involved with the class as I am, but I would instantly give up on the entire class if we get some variation of the horrible Ranger sword autoattacks.

I agree with you please no, the only thing from the ranger base class if anything would be an evade on attack. That is all!

For personal dps this rotation sounds good. But that’s if you are by yourself, sometimes keeping allies alive/bufffed gives more damage overall then you dealing that extra 5-10% personally.

Its supposed to be just 25% outgoing healing at least the way I read it. (although I tested this last beta and it didn’t increase any healing at all, so hopefully it gets fixed if planning on using)

But thats kind of like saying a warrior running phalanx for might stacking is worthless (but only if there is already a warrior doing it). I guess I just dont understand the logic?

I agree its a bit over the top to instantaneously get reset to 50% if you above the energy threshold when ooc. But if you are under 50% energy and ooc it doesn’t instantly reset it slowly goes up. I also agree that it should degen until 50%. It sucks to be in between 2 enemies you kill one have some energy saved and right before you get to the other its all gone. (just because of the 1/2 second of ooc)

Yes, and while we are at it lets make it a ground target and reduce the energy cost to 10 instead of 20. That way you don’t have to bother targeting something to get away just point click and you are half way across the map! Just imagine the zerg potential with a bunch of revs that could spam a 2400 blink skill.. giving me shivers…

I would change it to this instead personally:

Jalis
– Soothing Stone
Fine as is.

- Inspiring Reinforcement
Stunbreak and apply x stabil when used. While on the road get retaliation (gm trait for it but only get from dodge? really?)

- Vengeful Hammers
Hammer cost is perfectly fine. The problem with hammers is them disappearing against walls/rocks/hills/mounds/trees etc etc etc.

- Rite of the Great Dwarf
Duration to 7s (he is already adding a condition reduction to it)

Ventrai

Ventari is fine it just needs a larger aoe and a litte more increase to healing.


I feel this would be good but not over the top making it op. It would make road worth using, because its garbage atm, Jalis elite wouldn’t feel way to short for not giving an invul and hammers wouldn’t disappear randomly. Aside from those 3 things I think this legend is in a great spot. (If I’m in an open area I find jalis to be quite tanky)

i just also noticed that glints regeneration from healing skill is higher then ventari’s tablet which is meh

I checked on that the numbers with how much the regen heals are the exact same but ventaris application is 2 seconds at a 3 second interval. Plus if any allies aren’t near the tablet they don’t get that interval.. Its just overall less then a perma guaranteed regen (plus you get access to other boons). If the healing and aoe was increased then I would probably use this legend aside from just projectile blocks.

theres something buggy with facet of nature. where I noticed a similar issue is swapping from glint to shiro for a quickness stomp, Impossible Odds is locked out.

if any facet is active theres a delay before Impossible Odds is rdy, but if Facet of nature is active it nvr becomes available.

I don’t think that’s a bug. When you have facets active they take up some of your upkeep. When you swap legends it takes a second for your facets to do their final tick and then they deactivate. Facet of nature doesn’t require glint to be active and doesn’t deactivate when you swap legends. You can only have a total of 10 upkeep going at a time and Impossible Odds requires all 10. So you can’t have Facet of Nature (-2) and Impossible Odds (-10) active at the same time.

The glint facets had ended and were not giving their effects anymore the boons completely disappeared but I would keep getting energy degen once swapped.

If they increased the area of effect from 240 to something larger I would argue differently, but with its small aoe I find glints regeneration (was healing at 500+/s) to heal almost just as much. Because your party is dodging/moving and most the heals aren’t hitting.

-The one thing it does have going for it is the almost permanent projectile block. (I will admit to that much)

If you could share those 20 might with allies I would agree its out of balance, but you can’t. A war without runes can stack max might in no time, same with ele, why be against it with necros? (plus war and ele are aoe might not only you)

If revenant is given access to more condition removals/stun breaks then yes I agree go ahead and tone the rev vs power builds but currently any amount of conditions or stuns will wreck a rev. If you take away any viability against power builds as well what do you have?

The only thing Jalis needs to be more tanky is a slightly increased duration on elite skill, road to give stabil initially and vengeful hammers to not get destroyed on walls/rocks/hills. If I’m in an open area with hammers active jalis is very tanky. (as long as it stays in open area) =)

It’s so easy to ignore UA. I can’t tell you how many times my UA has just been shaken off like it was nothing by literally every profession.

I’d appreciate if everyone stopped telling me UA doesn’t need a nerf, I said I don’t mind it being the same. However UA is definitely strong, I don’t know what you mean by easy to ignore as it can deal 14k+ damage without the need to be full berserker.
My problem is SotM.

Then stop making up numbers. I’ve used it all weekend. Often with 10+ might against glass thieves and never seen it come close to that. I don’t think I’ve seen it hit for more than 8k all weekend and thats with marauders. The majority of the time the target will either dodge or stealth, or eat 5k standing still.

People keep making up these ridiculous exaggerations. If half of them were true Revs would be running around with 100% win rates.

+1 I completely agree, with all these outlandish claims I must be playing revenant wrong. Cause it seems to me I should just steamroll every other class….. right?

Glint > Jalis

Jalis is 100% situational at this time.

Inspiring Reinforcements only is effective if you need to avoid CC and stay in a specific area. That’s it. Any other scenario where mobility is required it’s garbage.

Forced Engagement is useless outside of PvE taunting. The slow does nothing to a target that’s basically a zombie attacking at you not using abilities.

Vengeful Hammers only work in the open field. Any kind of physical object around and it cancels. This sucks because there’s numerous world design where this simply cancels out right. Not sure why it’s designed this way except maybe to curb exploit hitting through walls or something. Regardless it makes it’s use literally hit or miss depending on location.

Rite of the Great Dwarf pretty much has to be used only during light CC as even the 1s cast time has potential for you to be interrupted during it. I can’t possibly describe how throw-your-keyboard-against-the-wall rage inducing it is to get interrupted while casting a defensive skill let alone one with such a heft cost in the first place.

Heal is alright, that’s about it. Most cases it’s flip Jalis, Rite, Heal, and wait till your other legend is back up.

-Forced engagement is just.. not useful most the time. But not much can change that.
-Forced engagement has such petty duration’s it might not give stabil even when on road.
-RotGD is still way too short in my opinion for the cost. I would bump it up to 8 seconds. (Its not like its endure pain or some invul skill)
To me it feels like the warrior trait “Rousing Resilience”. But the old version where the duration was too short. Just bump it up a little and I think it’ll see a lot more use.

I think unrelenting assault in it’s current form is too strong in pvp. 7 hits with a 12 second cool down is alot. Even if I double dodge it would hit me 5 times without problem. If I leap away it would still catch up and if I block it, it will be off CD before my block will be.

I’d sugest increasing the cooldown on this skill or reducing the number of hits. Instead you could look at increasing the dmmg on the autoattack to keep sword a balanced weapon on revenant.

More damage on auto attack is nice until someone puts up a reflect and then you are SOL. No class should have a ranged projectile attack on melee auto. Just saying.

Also I think you are double dodging at the wrong time.

Inspiring Reinforcement

I used inspiring reinforcement a couple times and just found it soo bad. Harpy fractal with their knock backs 1/2 you’d still get knocked of while standing on road (from delay when starting/between intervals and such short duration’s). I found the only time it even worked half decently was if I was using the f2 passive and then used road. Even then it still needs a stun break/immediate aoe stabil.

I still think this skill would be best with immediate stability on use and retaliation while on road. I mean revenant has a trait Empowering Vengeance that is made for retaliation… but the only place to get is 2 seconds from a dodge? really? (and at that it has a icd so IF you get hit, you can at most get 2 might from a dodge)

Mostly been trying out the Ventari legend in WvW this weekend.

It feels like it was designed when strong support wasn’t an option. Then Druid came along and now it feels in an awkward place. Its sole contribution is support, just like the Druid, but its output feels significantly weaker and more demanding of a player’s focus.

My suggestions:
– Boost overall passive healing near the tablet. It’s got a tiny area, but it should be powerful if allies are within that area.

- Add a final heal Ventari’s Will that’s bigger than the pass-through heal. It feels really annoying to have to run the thing “through” people all the time. I want to place it in the hottest area and leave it alone so I can use my other skills, not keep zipping it over people all the time. It feels like some sort of healing shake-weight right now.

I played around with healing traits and Ventari a lot this weekend. Ironically what I found out was using herald and keeping regen on always was almost just as effective as using Ventari (because it looses a lot of healing from party members moving/dodging etc). Aside from the near perma projectile block with Ventari it just wasn’t used much. Personally I think it needs a much larger passive heal aoe range. But worst case scenario It stays the same and I just use it when I need a projectile block. =P

Forgot to mention was ticking over 500/s with regen from glint alone, with Ventari the passive regen and heals just wasn’t sticking because people would move/spread out etc.

The only time I will be playing tempest is if I’m pushing for group protection/healing with auras. Got a couple builds that work well with it, but I agree with everyone else that it’s very boring compared to the other specializations.

I’m enjoying revenant for the most part It’s very fun to play so far. Some of the things I think should be addressed are:
-Salvation trait line needs to specify all the +healing to allies is only outgoing healing. (none of salvation healing traits help heal yourself).
-Eluding Nullification – a 10 second cd for a dodge is too high, should be lowered around 5.
-Vengeful hammers still get destroyed by small hills/walls/pretty much anything. (also the healing power scaling with siphons are terrible but it might be intentional)
-Shrouding Mists – the over 50% energy increase to healing does not work.
-Sword auto attack gets reflected regularly (not sure why there would be a projectile with a melee weapon auto but whatever)
-Empowering Vengeance is still a terrible trait as very little access to retaliation in jalis except dodging. (a gm trait that gives max of 2 might on dodge needs to be changed)
-Embrace the darkness is basically an under powered unyielding anguish. It needs buffing.

That’s it so far, I’m sure I’ll add to the list.

I’m kind of wondering if ventari is worth it at all. The area of effect is so small its almost worth it just to keep regeneration on glint up. Ran with clerics was ticking 500+ hp/s with perma regen plus my normal damage rotation wasn’t really hindered at all. Threw in a mace for might stacking and seemed to be good. Not as pure healing as druid but felt very very useful in a group setting.

I realize that, but a siphon gaining 5 hp from 1357 healing power is a bit low on the scaling line. Thats pretty much all I was stating with last part. Otherwise just want the skills labeled/working correctly.

So I did a couple quick tests to make sure this hasn’t been changed but so far some of the healing traits need to be reworded or changed to make work.

-Tranquil Balance only effects OTHER allies, it does not increase heal to self.
-Serene Rejuvenation only increases healing to OTHER allies, it does not increase heal to self.
These need to be specified that it is outgoing healing, not just healing to allies. Allies includes you in that group. (unless you are your own enemy which in that case I can refer you to a good psychologist)

-Shrouded Mists increasing of healing at 50%+ energy does not work. Tested on multiple different people and npcs it made no difference. (I did not test the damage reduction under 50% because the numbers vary and I am too lazy to test it).

I also noticed that healing power scales very poorly on revenant with siphoning.
Lifesteal is supposed to scale off healing so I’ve been told.

Devastation’s
Focused Siphoning trait at 0 healing power leeches 57 hp per hit.
With full clerics armor w/monk runes giving 1357 healing power. It siphons 65. Feels a bit low considering not many people are going to be running full clerics. And even then its very weak.

Jalis’s Vengeful hammers start leech at 56 hp per hit.
With the full clerics/1357 healing power it changes to siphon of 64.

I’ll be honest that ridiculous
Tested with 0 healing power glints regens give self 140 per second.
With 1357 healing power glints regens 324 per second to self.

If regen doubles why is siphon only getting an extra 5? (mind you this isn’t the damage dealt its simply the heal it gives)

I’ll add more quirks I find as a keep testing this out. Also if you notice anything as well please do post =).

Just make runes/sigils unlock a slot in the weapon/armor you put it in. Something like pvp where its a drop down and you can only use ones you have unlocked. That way it would be weapon/armor piece bound and would still let you try new combinations.

Base rev cannot make much use from fury and that is troublesome. Sure we can always pick up elite spec – Glint but the questions remains..what if Glint wasnt here? And what will happen once they release cooler elite spec, perhaps another dps one..without fury in it?

Amen. I thought Revenant felt incomplete until Herald was revealed. If it were up to me, Glint would be a base legend.

+1 I agree, revenant was lacking something until Herald came. Other specializations enhanced the class I feel like herald kind of made the class work. I’m dreading another specialization because it will make the class incomplete yet again if its not amazing.

If upgrade extractors were given at the same rate as transmutation charges then maybe. But the upgrade extractor fix can simply be ignored as it was that expensive (if that really is their idea of a fix it was one of the worst fixes I’ve ever seen). People want a chance to buy a lot of runes/sigils and only unlock them on a single weapon/armor piece. If they ever change weapons they would have to unlock them all again. I don’t see this as some horrible request to upset the market, people simply want to be able to use different builds with ascended/legendary gear that runes have a large role in making.

I have ascended armor with a set of runes on it. I never swap or put no runes, same would apply to legendary armor. (It’s not worth throwing away 50g). If they allowed us to unlock runes with a dropdown box like pvp or something then I would buy more. At this point for me and those like me the runes market is dead. So would it actually be bad to let us but more kinda of runes to unlock in a single armor set?? Because otherwise I’ll just keep running my sub par travelers runes like I always have.

Keep your zerker armor its the most expensive and still the most useful. Trinkets can make a decent dent, unless you are going for full tank.

I only ever use the 50% if might stacking, run 50% and might on herald with mace spamming fire field/combo gets you to 25 stacks very fast.

At first I didn’t really love staff, I really like sword/shield more but… if the sword auto stays as a ranged attack I might jump on the staff bandwagon. I quite dislike getting my auto attack thrown back into my face.

The Only thing that bugs me if the revenant starts at lvl 1…whats about Rytlock?^^
If Rytlock is the first revenant it would be odd if you start as a Charr Revenant and there he is “back” as a “normal” (but still more than awesome) being^^

I hear ya, sadly they can’t do much about this unless they make a addendum to the personal story. Since I am an Asura, I am just going to pretend I made a time machine and using the mists I went back in time like Back to the Future.

+1 I have felt the exact same way! Cept I wont be an asura, I’ll probably be human but I hitched a ride in your time machine cause building my own is too much work.
