I refuse to buy transmute charges, but I also would change 2x a day if unlimited. But I don’t think this should be exclusively on legendary armor. Heck just release an unlimited transmutation stone for 2k gems. I know I’ll buy it along with a bunch of other people.

Much to your dismay, Revenant’s do need a weakness.

I do agree each class needs to have a counterplay. Don’t you think that it also doesn’t have to be he should be virtually helpless against it though. Conditions are no longer like they were when the game first launched, they are now more prevalent, easily reapplied (in matter of seconds). Especially in PvP when virtually every classes do condi now, it means that non-Mallyx will be weak against everyone. I do think condi removal on legend swap should be increased to one, each legend should have at least one way to remove condition, be it a weaker one than other classes.

I don’t think that is entirely true, as an example engineers don’t run much condition removal in PvP as they have limited options similar to revenant, but still aren’t helpless in PvP.

This doesn’t quite make sense if engineer takes the alchemy line they are set against conditions. I mean Transmute (what I wouldn’t give to have this on rev) 15 second condi to boon maker (requiring no dodging/legend swapping or skill use). Also Alchemical Tinctures to cure them too, considering most f1-4 skills count as elixir, or if you have any equipped. Maybe my pvp engi runs different but applying conditions to engineers tends to make their boon pool grow, instead of actually hurting them. But who knows maybe its just me..

Where as a rev it doesn’t matter what line they take they are always kind of junk vs condition builds. I mean 1 line has a dodge cure (10 second cd) If you dodge at right time.. kinda weak. Another has on legend swap (beats dodging but still. I guess at the end I feel the only possible way rev can handle conditions is with mallyx trait and legend using resistance. And if it gets stripped you are up a creek. Maybe if we get a trait like engineers “transmute” then I will think differently . Just my 2 cents.

Just a question, why do ventari traits focus on healing allies and not yourself? I never understood because no one wants a full time healer. And if it doesn’t help heal you along with allies all you can do is stand in back and watch. Im not against more healing in game but I feel like this game is made so you can be selfish.. So why can’t we selfishly heal?

Also might just be me but the grandmaster traits are kind of useless if not ventari. Wasn’t the point to let use mix n match not lock us into a forced traitline?

Not trying to sound like complaining mostly just confused at the reason for a lot of thus traitline.

I forgot to add I would also like to see a hoodie, like a normal jacket kind of like the ones that you give out to real people as rewards. (not one of those “called” hoodies ingame that have no actual resemblance.) I personally wouldn’t care if it has hood up or down/or maybe option? I just like to imagine if I was in this game what would I want to wear?

Would it be some weird looking nonsense armor that I would freeze to death in, while at the same time it doesn’t actually defend me? Or would I wear a hoodie? Or a t-shirt? Or something else comfy? At least that’s my train of thought.. =P

Yes I realize this doesn’t fit lore-wise. But lets be honest most things in this game make no sense whatsoever. I mean ranging from wing back pieces to a bow that shoots unicorns… Why can’t we have an option for normal modern clothing in the mix? And no I don’t want a premade “outfit”. There are a lot of good looking pants/shorts etc but most the tops cover up practically all of it. (Especially with medium armor). Good ol trench coats…

So basically the question am asking is can we please get a normal t-shirt armor skin. I mean heck just re-use a predone skin and change it up a bit (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragon_Emblem_Shirt). Easy way to make more money, everyone wins.

PS… I am not asking for useless town clothing (if that thought happened to cross your mind please throw it off the nearest cliff into a lake with cement shoes on). I would like to see it be armor skins like toxic etc… Anyone else agree or have thoughts??

I’ll be using reaper,herald,chrono for sure with berserker and daredevil occasionally. Though I highly doubt I will ever take the dragonhunter. At this point taking it would make my character worse in just about every way.

The main downsides I had with Jalis in this last beta were the Vengeful hammers disabling when hitting walls/rocks/trees etc. And the severe lack of retribution. I mean there is a gm trait requiring it but you can only get if you dodge? And only for 2s at that? I mean its not even any good as a boon why the low durations? Mostly I would like to seed more retribution and Vengeful hammers disabling fixed. Other then that I thought It was good.

A side not with Inspiring Reinforcement. Now that it has a decent cool down can we change the stability back to be more then 1s?

This is the main reason I don’t buy bag slots. Its only per 1 character, when I have 12 and enjoy making new ones…. If I could have a bag slot that was account linked I would easily pay the gem price. Easily.

If ascended isn’t part of the recipe that really sucks for those people who actually made ascended armor sets. I find it perfectly reasonable to be able to upgrade ascended instead of deleting it because there is no use to it.

Basically that’s the point of this game, defense doesn’t matter, healing doesn’t matter. At the end of the day all that matters is your dps and if you dodged the attack.

I feel that going glint and keeping the heal passive on essentially does everything ventari can plus more. Just not worth it, simply the time wasted and excess energy to just move the tablet to follow you makes it not worth. But to each their own, I’m sure someone enjoys it.

I completely agree. Its very annoying to be close to max energy after killing a mob then just before you reach the next one you get ooc for 1/2 a second and it goes down to 50%. It should just give -5 degen until 50 energy when ooc, same as it does +5 energy up to 50 when ooc.

He is correct. The hammers double/triple siphon per hit. It’s a fantastic tank build, if only the hammers didn’t randomly disappear when they hit anything cept mobs…

I find jalis is better then shiro with life steal. The hammers steal per hit and the steal-heal stacks with devastation line.

I agree it’s better then ‘Warrior’s Defiant Stance’, but lets not forget a warrior has access to multiple invulns, blocks, shout heals, banner heals, lots of condi cleanses and stun breaks. Currently rev has a few of those…. yes i agree its a very good heal but it’s kind of needed for the lack of everything else they have.

So in other words Go Glint, turn on your passives until out of Energy, then swap to Dwarf and turn on Hammers until out of energy, then rinse repeat?

Yea exactly. As long as you have lifesteal from shiro traitline the hammers end up double/triple siphoning per hit. Also sword skill 3 gives temporary invul while siphon from attack and hammers. It works nicely so far.

I found in pve for tanking going jalis/glint works nicely. Then just swap when low on energy between the two. Make sure to have devastation and sword using vengeful hammers heals like crazy. Rest of time you have perma prot/sweet heal skill and other boons.

If you are using facet of nature you cannot use the shiro quickness skill. Max degen you can have is 10. Facet of nature stays active even if you swap legends. Might be the problem.

A ranged 1h weapon would be nice but its not gonna happen anytime soon. I personally didn’t mind the boon range and thought it was adequate (although I would never complain if they increased the range to say 900-1200 or even 2000.).

But a shield is meant to reduce the use of stuff like stunbreakers/dodge with blocks, I don’t see why you should have to un-stun yourself every time you use a block skilll. Although if they let you move while channeling this it would allow you to not facetank as much and I’d be fine with it.

I think its meant to be 4 stuns break it but you find that almost every single mob has a lot of bar breakers on them. For example a regular earth elemental has Unsteady Ground which by itself will break shield 5 completely. I just found a lot of mobs have a lot of bar breakers, and when they don’t you have no need to use skill 5 as you have full hp etc. At least from what I found running through a couple zones and fractals.

-Envoy of Exuberance (skill 4 with shield)- seems to be fine, the heal is nice on occasions. I would maybe increase the protection duration a little higher maybe to 5 seconds.

-Crystal Hibernation (skill 5 with shield). This gives a bit of a heal while pulsing and lets you ignore conditions. During this process you are stuck in place and cancelling the skill early can sometimes be difficult. Its a fun idea but the break bar when using this skill is terrible. Almost every single time i tried using it i got stunned/vuln. Maybe its a bit better in pvp? But in pve it is horrid, the only time is can be used is hiding in the back to heal. I feel with a break bar either it will suck or it will be op, there is no middle ground. I say just make it like warrior skill 5. Or at least let us be mobile while using this, that way we don’t just face tank all the suns etc that break us way to fast.

-I found that almost all of glints normal skills were very useful. The only one is didnt need was stun breaker (unless i used shield skill 5). The only main problem i had is the elite, I used it a couple times and never again. 45 seconds for a meh knock back just wasn’t worth it. I would much rather swap to other legend when energy gone and comeback able to apply prot again. The passive on the elite is by far the best part, no payout on actual skill. Which is kind of sad cause the animation is amazing. (I will throw it out there as I have before, if elite gave quickness instead of a useless superspeed I would use all the time)

-Concerning the traits.
I found minor traits to be just fine.

-Bolster Fortifications- protections for 2 seconds off heals. Seems fine though another second or two wouldn’t hurt.
-Harmonize Continuity – I won’t be using this as we have 1 stunbreak on glint…. But the idea could be fun.
-Shared Empowerment – I timed the boons to apply at separate times but this would only go off once every 3 seconds. Maybe it was just me but only really kept up 2-3 might. Would be nice to contribute at least a decent amount of might, 2-3 just doesn’t do much in the way of party contribution. (I realize we aren’t meant to stack 25 might instantly like war or ele but at least give us a bit more then 2-3…)

-The grandmaster traits are good except Soothing Bastion which is really just the skill 5 on shield issue. Why would anyone bring a skill that at 25% hp stuns you and gives you 25 vuln? Are they a masochist?? Also this skill did not increase any boon duration upon use of skills.

If anyone else has any feedback feel free to post ideas/suggestions. Just trying to make the revenant with shield usable. I LOVE shields but find they kind of suck, hoping the revenant can change that.

I think there is a lot of potential for rifle in a magic world.

-During the whole Zhaitan thing they were using huge cannons essentially charged by eles… and who says rifles only shoot bullets with gunpowder? This is a magic world, charge your bullets with elements, lightning bullets or exploding fire attunement shots… etc etc the list could go on for just about ever.
-The ghost problem with the char they are all playing ghostbusters, which in my mind is very related to the revenant as he has been to the other side. (you could have all kinds of cool ghost themed skills with it) Just imagine playing ghostbusters ALL the time.. sounds fantastic!
-Thief.. kind of obvious the uses.
-Mesmer using a chrono rifle sounds pretty sweet to me, a lot better then a shield (at least in my opinion). Who knows maybe they could go in that direction now?
-I see no reason why guardian cant assist and defend allies with a rifle, the military has been doing it for a while now.
-Necro thematically I personally don’t see it in this class as much but only thematically. Though I’ll be perfectly honest, if a zombie Apocalypse happens and I gain the ability to summon and control the dead I am totally going to control a huge army of meat shields and sit in the back with a rifle picking off anything that gets in my way. World domination guesstimate…. probably a week…. yep

Basically I think all in all every class should be able to use and kind of weapon they want. Just because I can shoot fireballs why cant I use a plasma cannon? Just because I’m good with knives why cant I occasionally pick someone off from a distance just for fun? If its there why not use it?

So with specializations I was excited for some new variety and we got a lot. But I kind of feel like this weapon was thrown behind a dumpster and forgotten. I mean.. I realize staff is the new cool shiny but really? Ranger, thief and rev have it? Where only engi and war have rifle? I mean rifle has been around for years yet it still completely sucks (doesn’t even cause bleed now) on warrior. And if an engineer is using he could spend his time better with a kit.

For one of the coolest legendary skins it just makes me sad how completely useless it is to use and how much it is forgotten.

RIP rifle.

(Which is ironic because shouldn’t it have the most attack potential out of anything in this game???)

You could always just not use it for PvE. I very much doubt you’ll need it.

We already have Jade Winds anyway. Two elite stuns seems a bit redundant.

+1 I agree another stun/knockback added to the list is just boring.. already have centaur and assassin elites for that.

They should make the elite fit the glint boon theme and make it give a burst of quickness or something (similar to the new guardian elite feel my wrath). Would appreciate actually using this skill a LOT more if that was the case. At this point I probably wont use unless I have to because I run melee and knockback simply makes life harder for me.

I think they should remove superspeed and add aoe quickness to the elite. At this point it’s just a crummy long cast knockback (although cool animation). I think if you added a quickness burst it would make the 45 second cd worth it plus not feel terrible ending your protection.

Revenant Energy on attack

Just a thought but I think getting energy per attack on weapon 1 skill (maybe in exchange for energy regen) would be an awesome option. Like zealous weapons in gw1.

With a thief, sitting back helps you get initiative but actively doing something helps even more! With revenant the main problem i had was simply if i ran low on energy i had to run away to recharge (usually swap to range). If i didn’t run away and I was attacked I couldn’t even heal (thus range swap example).

I would just love to see a trait option (or just have it implemented) where you could have some kind of alternate energy gain with attacking. I’m not trying to make the revenant ludicrous with unlimited energy I just like some diversity. Anyone else agree/disagree or have ideas?

Also a side question…
Can we just get the legend swap perma set at 10 second cd (instead of instant ooc, or whatever the cd is, or even make it a slightly longer cd between swaps) and actually start with full 100% energy? I’m not per-say complaining about energy problems but I just really don’t like having my energy jump back down to 50 the second combat ends. And before combat its at 50%…. makes no sense…. I mean its energy …. like wouldn’t you have more energy BEFORE fighting then you would after? I just don’t understand… why would you do that?……

Cost of Bag Slots is too High

I have 10 character slots. I don’t just play on one character only spending 150$ for just bag slots is a bit extreme. If only use one character could see, but they simply aren’t and never have been worth it. If an account bound version (costing more) but gives slot to every character including new ones I would definentally get. But until that day I’ll just stick with my permanent merch/bank setup.

They should just convert racial skills to require energy and remove the cd if its a problem. Though it probably wouldn’t work. Being able to have mistfire wolf out permanently…. Hm actually that’s a good idea, I mean it completely sucks anyways (although cosmetically amazing). Being permanent might actually put this almost on par with normal elites.

I completely agree, let us swap in racial skills. Racial skills completely suck, but so do some rev skills. At least now we could have a chance to use racial skills as we are stuck with select (unwanted depending on situation) skills as revenant.

If having racial skills is unacceptable. As an appeasement I will be willing to accept a Mistfire wolf mini pet. =)

The problem with energy on weapon and utility is it makes you only use the “best skill” repetitively because everything else is pointless. Making most weapon skills a complete waste of time and energy, because all they do is waste your much needed energy. I don’t much love the ‘spam the keyboard for damage routine’, but it does make you actually use more then just 1 skill.

I would like to be able to utilize my utility AND weapon skills on revenant, instead of just one or the other because of a severe lack of energy. At least that’s my say.

One of the first things I noticed was how slow the Revenant felt, I saw a post about an issue with skill chaining which seemed to fit the bill; but that aside the Rev itself still feels really clunky and clumsy to play in combat. I do have a few suggestions though:
Hammer just feels weird, it doesn’t feel like a viable ranged dps option, and if you get jumped or forced into close quarters, you’re a little boned.
Mace/axe felt OP as mess, probably due to the sheer amount of conditions you can spew on your target, let alone one on every ability, could use a dial down in the dmg, or being the other weapons in line.
Staff feels like your trying to fight with a limp nerf bat. The DPS output is sad. I know its a support weapon but so is guardian mace, and that thing packs a wallop. Bring up the dmg a bit on its abilities and it would be perfect.
I don’t have an issue with the lack of weapon swap, but there has to be some way the legends can help compensate for that. Maybe giving each legend it’s own passive effect onto your weapons to make it feel a bit more adaptive?

I agree Mace/axe is op compared to the other 2 options, but in relation to any other class its still very sub-par.

Giving each legend a passive would be way cool if done right! Not even limiting it to stats, could do something like Jalis once every 10 seconds gives 4 seconds of prot to all allies in area, Ventari Maybe doing a heal burst every so often. Mallyx randomly apply conditions to enemies every so often.

I have also noticed a couple small things like:

-Vengeful Hammers will deactivate randomly, if they hit something that is not a player. (seems like the hammers themselves can be damaged)
-Forced Engagement will not interrupt/pull target half the time. (plus the 1 second cast time seems a bit strange for an interrupt skill)
-Hammer skill 3 cold effect doesn’t always apply.

A few skills are unable to be used unless in combat. ex
-Vengeful Hammers
-Energy Expulsion (seems to require 51 energy) kind of strange…
-Embrace the Darkness
.. I think i forgot some but those work for now.

Not sure if these would count as bugs or maybe its supposed to be like that. Either way would be nice if they get fixed. Hopefully they fix them, kind of annoying to have to sit the and summon hammers after the surprise attack has happened, instead of prepping for it.

Also I wonder has anyone seen any dev posts concerning Racial skills on revs? I know they suck for the most part but lets be honest so do a lot of rev skills. I would gladly trade Pain Absorption (an overcostly, mostly useless, self killing skill) for a low damage dealing turret. Or trade Forced Engagement (an overcostly, works 50% of time, interrupt) for a shout to apply boons, or at least a skill that does something…. If anyone has heard anything about it please post, would love to know. Thanks

Legendary Dwarf Stance – Supposed to be tank. I propose giving some tweaks and adding protection boon.
Forced Engagement – Reduce energy cost, for a measly interrupt/taunt 50 is too high.
Vengeful Hammers – Make so gives protection to group at intervals while hammers active. (Jalis needs some access to protection boon)
Inspiring Reinforcement – This one is fine as is.
Rite of the Great Dwarf – Reduce channeling time, it already costs 50 energy so it doesn’t get spammed… why add a ridiculous channeling time to it also???

Legendary Demon Stance – Based on dealing more damage with conditions. I feel condition cap at 3 should be lowered to 2 given the ridiculous amounts of condi cleanses you get in a group setting.
Banish Enchantment – This is one good as is.
Unyielding Anguish – The torment caps at 3 stacks (6 if condi met) and does not increase per pulse. Needs to be changed so it can at least stack some torment. Also displacement ignores stability and defiance as well as moves unmovable bosses.
Pain Absorption – Way too much of an energy requirement for getting a second of resistance (not to mention a bunch of hurtful conditions).
Embrace the Darkness – Interval needs to be lower and condition apply higher. For how little of time you can use this should have higher effect. Maybe something like 1 second interval, 2-3 seconds of conditions. Given how it doesn’t last long at least let it stack more then 1 stack of a condition.

Legendary Centaur Stance – Healing tablet build, felt a bit messy, wish there was a way to just have tablet follow you as to focus more on dodges etc then just moving the tablet. Feels like it wants you to stack, wasn’t the point to stop stacking not support it?
Protective Solace – This one is good, though maybe a slightly larger aoe.
Natural Harmony – Decent skill low cost and usable but it still felt weak on the heals, maybe its just me.
Purifying Essence – Works fine, although the cast time was making it fail half the time when used.
Energy Expulsion – Would not activate unless i was over 50 energy. Felt that made it not as useful.

Hammer – Everything has a 1 second+ activation time that needs to be reduced. Why bother with huge activation times when it all costs energy anyways?

Mace/Axe – Felt weak but still by far the best weapon out of the choices. Needs damage increase.

Staff – Extremely low dps, yes it does heal you… kind of. But for how pathetic the dps is not worth it. Also noticed it didn’t always send out healing orbs on 3rd attack.

Please post any ideas you think would work! I would go into traits to but… not worth it ha ha. Hope to hear some good ideas of what boons/buffs etc the rev could use to make it not terrible =P
