Yeah, 2 or 3 casuals that play WvW say they want more PvE in WvW, and the other 50,000+ of us say, “Get your PvE out of my WvW”, and Anet listens to the 2 or 3. Pfft!
I’m convinced that Anet makes it a point of trying NOT to remove PvE content from PvP oriented maps once added. Hell and High Water have to occur in order for some PvE content to be removed. (It’s happened over the 3+ years but sparingly.) Their modus operandi is to just keep adding more and more and more PvE type of content. I honestly think they do it to either troll the general WvW population and/or because Anet really HATES the challenge of creating and implementing strategic, well designed maps for engaging large scale PvP combat, so they throw in these PvE “fillers” to occupy the space.

“League?…” LEAGUE!?? This is NO league! Not when this kind of BS is inherent to its design and fair players are getting screwed over hard core like this.
After 3 years of WvW play, I just started sPvP’ing since this whole league thing kicked in and because WvW is a kitten-mess (now more than ever since HoT’s release. But I won’t even go there in this thread! Anyhow…) I thought it would be fun and it was until I got to Division 2 where you can easily get screwed over by ridiculous circumstances such as what the OP (and many, many others) have been experiencing. This is a sad and disgusting way to lose time, effort, energy and accomplishments all while gaining a crap ton of frustration and resentment for everything that’s involved with this League.
I guess after 4 days of sPvP League play, my little bit of fun is over.

For the last 30 min I’ve been running around farming mats and used AG. I used it no less than 50 times (I lost count after 50… lol). And I’d like to report that not once did it put me into combat or root me.

Although I’m not encountering the rooting as often as some of you guys above (1 in ever 10 or so AG’s for me so far), it took me all of 15 minutes of play on my Druid to run into this “new bug” enough times to raise an eyebrow.
Here’s the question that begs to be asked:

How could this New ROOTING BUG not be caught in your QA Testing after fixing the in-combat bug with AG?
Did your QA testing consist of doing AG two or three times. And when you didn’t encounter the in-combat bug, you then called it a day? Or were you aware of this new ROOTING AG bug that you introduced with the Dec 1st patch but decided to proceed with it anyway?
It’s this kind of “one step forward, two steps back” stuff that makes your player base really frustrated.
Like others have said above… in a competitive environment, AG is now even worse! If I had to choose one curse vs another, I’d prefer being in combat temporarily (1-2 seconds) to having AG immobilizing me until I can muster up the coordination to type “/dance” while an enemy player is beating the hell out of me in WvW. Heck, even in HoT with the mobs being as vicious as they are, it could spell certain death! (And you just started a sPvP Pro league??? Dude, c’mon!)
This need to be HOT FIXED… NOW, Please!

It is not a hack but an in game bug that works with any targeted skill within range (most noticeable from hammer Rev skills and Ranger Longbow). Oddly attacking a tower champion on a flat surface with a ranged skill often yields Obstructed. Attacking a player through a wall AND a floor, direct hit.
Maybe this pierce through walls is to compensate those obstructed messages on flat terrain.

And I think if you just opened up a dialogue (maybe in a TS channel) with some of our veteran commanders, guilds – big and small, havocs, roamers, scouts, defenders, tacticians, strategists, and siege specialists, then the sky’s the limit on what WvW can become! (Man, you could create something that locks people into this game for another decade! No bull-kitten! And my old kitten would happily be one of them!

And if it wasn’t clear before, it should be blatantly clear now by your own population measuring tool… WvW is DYING and WILL SOON BE DEAD!!!!
The question is this… What are YOU going to do NOW to save WvW? (We know you’ve tried your own remedies in the past, but they have not worked.) Perhaps there’s something else you can try.
Hint: You’ve got a whole forum full of commonly heard (seen) vocal suggestions on what the community Likes and DOES NOT LIKE about the current WvW.
And as my human warrior would say, “Bro, I think it’s time to get out the needle full of ADRENALINE and jab it straight into the Heart of The problem.” If you know what I’m saying?

Lets keep this going. Reset night on BG: not a que on any map, even EB.
Although we did manage to get a small queue later on EBG, at reset on SoS (tier 2), like BG, there were no queues.
And right now… EBG is a ghost town. Basically for the last 3 hours, we’ve been only having roaming and havoc group skirmishes. And even those have died down in the last 30 minutes, so I just logged out.

If they had put any thought into wvw for the expansion and guild hall upgrades they could have implemented a few different things. War room upgrades should have had their own separate set of materials that dropped from wvw, they kitten well know the war room is for wvw only so why did they force wvw players to grind in pve?
Why put our precious +5 at guild level 37? Why put such a heavy cost on scribing wvw schematics? What a joke, no one is going to use tactivators for years until the cost comes down. It’s like the kitten wvw achievements all over again, and even that took them 3 years to fix. We didn’t buy the expansion to start over on the upgrades we already had kitten .
They could have implemented reward tracks that helped provide those materials, I mean even spvp has a reward track that provides silverwaste shovels. They could have had other materials for purchase for wvw badges giving them another use, they only have one in the hall right now. They could have made the materials drop from sentries and camp npcs, hell even put them on the keep lords, it would promote ktraining, but at least players would be on the new borderlands at this point.
The problem with this game and it’s developers is not everything is implemented fairly across the board. How many years did wvw players have to wait for them to finally make badge gear salvageable? The auto loot feature gets handed out to pve while wvw gets the cold shoulder again.
Spvp got revamped with reward tracks so their players don’t need to step out of pvp, they get tournaments with real cash prizes now. They even get a kitten buff every month that shows up every player everywhere promoting spvp for that time, while also reminding wvw players they’re still standing in the corner looking at the blank wall for being the red haired step child. Really that hard to provide the same buff for wvw once a month and give it the same promotion? seriously?
Squads finally got upgraded, but that’s only because of raids, otherwise it would still be in a useless state.
It’s obvious their focus right now is on raids, and what piece of the pie it can pull from the 5 million players that left WoW in the last year. Their greed in constantly looking for new players and not being fair to their veterans is what’s killing this game mode.

…please seriously look at what Xenesis has mentioned about the WvW game-mode, its present issues/concerns, WvW compared to other game-modes, suggestions on improvements, and “why” the red-haired step child feeling sadly applies to WvW.
Has everything you’ve done regarding WvW been a cluster over the last 3 years? Absolutely not! Some of us won’t admit it, but we know you’ve done things to try to keep the game mode alive and part of the GW2 family. (Thank you sincerely for that!) But as you guys have acknowledged – WvW didn’t get what its due regarding the HoT expansion when compared to PvE, sPvP, Fractals, etc; hence, the red-haired step child feelings.
Please take the time to review Xenesis’ post and others like it and work with and communicate with the WvW player base on our next best steps in improving the WvW game mode.
And, btw, you’ve done some great things recently that I’ve personally liked, such as – Sentries showing enemy players (this really helps me “hunt” them), Squad UI, moving WP’s into the keeps on the BL’s (not 100% functioning as I would have it, but it’s a start), and reducing the effects of the Oasis event on gates.
Let’s take this momentum and build upon it!
I, like many folks, believe in the WvW game-mode. It has been and continues to be HELLA-end-game-FUN! We just need you to be a little bit more vocal with the WvW community and incorporate some of the community’s ideas on what changes would make it even more fun!

I am sure they want to leave the reset time for now. It really doesn’t matter with current populations. We have found it fun to do a push Friday nights sometimes….
The thing is…
…a good “positive” WvW action (for a change) from the Devs would be to Re-instate Friday Night reset ASAP! IMHO this might actually help with the population issues that have been experienced in WvW since HoT’s release.
I know that switching reset back to Friday nights is NOT a fix-all solution as there are still many more severe WvW related issues presently. But I’d bet all of my Proofs of Heroics that we’d see more folks (at least on Friday and during the day on Saturday) show up if they reverted reset back to Friday nights.
For “most” WvW’ers that I know (especially our OCX and SEA brethren and sistren):
FRIDAY NIGHT Reset > Saturday (anytime) Reset

Roaming is so much fun in the new maps. It feels like I’m on an epic journey to find my long lost brother.
It takes SO long to find people to fight in these new maps, we actually cheer and hug each other instead of fighting now. Overall I like this pacifistic approach. Clearly new maps are to make friends with other servers now

There’s no grinding in EotM needed to gain WvW ranks.
If you were not aware… you can gain WvW ranks (levels) by simply playing regular WvW. You get a rank per every 5000K WXP earned from doing things like killing other players, taking camps, towers, and keeps, killing and escorting yaks, defending, etc. I typically gain a few ranks (at a minimum) every day that I log in and battle on the BL’s and EBG.
Wait, how is doing pve hero points grinding but ktraining in eotm is not?

John, like Fryggenbart said, I want to thank you sincerely for taking the time to explain to the Fire-breathing Horde that the WvW community is (me included ) what your reasons were for the reset change. Even though some of us still like to “roast-a-dev” no matter what, many of us witch-burners do appreciate what you’ve said even if we don’t exactly “like” it.
With that said, I want to fully agree with what Fryggenbart said here below as this is exactly what I was hoping for – a compromise !
The new reset time on Saturday lunch time is in my opinion definitely better than Saturday evening, it promises a lot of action on Saturday afternoon. It surely has great potential to be a good time for the reset.
And like he said, this is also my feeling towards the overall assessment of the topic:
Friday > Saturday lunch > Saturday evening. Change has potential to be fun, but there will be unhappy people.
Lastly, I would ask that you and your dev teams please consider taking a measurement of the change in a couple/few weeks. If it’s not been an improvement, then please consider revisiting the topic and keeping the door open to reverting it back to Friday night (or to something else).

So, the server we are playing against breaks our EBG waypointed keep with an omniblob and then we proceed to defend our fortified Jerri tower. Afterwards, we go to kill the guild catas that were used to take our fortified tower and see this. Good form ANET, good form.

Wow… Anet, you’ve totally made WHaO not worth the time to slot it, let alone try to use it in combat (or pre-combat) now.
I got my fern hound’s regen up to over a minute, then I hit WHaO and I got “5 SECONDS” of regen from his 1+ minute of regen…. pfft!
And after more testing, I see that no matter what… the max I can get from him is 5 secs of regen.
WHaO, sorry, but you’re totally useless now regarding this “copy boons” adaptation. So basically, if a ranger wasn’t using it before Sept 29th, I don’t personally see a reason to slot it now. (Back into the useless box where I found you, WHaO.)
ANET, please pick up a WRENCH and FIX HEALING SPRING!!!
(I know how easily and quickly you can pick up a NERF HAMMER when it comes to positive things for the ranger, but try using that fixing wrench on us too.)
HEALING SPRING presently…
1) does NOT give CONDI CLEAR when dropped! (If you have full health, it won’t trip. This is a HUGE LOSS for many rangers)
2) drops BEHIND the ranger when the ranger lays it down while running (Honestly, wtf is this about? Does no one at anet play ranger in a competitive environment?)
3) needs to be able to be trigged somehow even when the ranger is full health
Nothing of what is realeased in Gemstore today (29/9), or since a few days back, is new… still there are lots of things labeled “New”… Call them returning or something but not New!
They might be for F2P but not for us veterans.

The F2 skill does not activate but also doesn’t go on cooldown, allowing to spam the effect of “Go for the Eyes” upon pressing F2, ultimately allowing for perma AoE Blind.
This needs a hotfix, it’s breaking all competitive gamemodes right now.

If I’m understanding you correctly – if you take the Beastmastery Specialization and trait “Go For the Eyes”, you can perma-blind anything and anyone! Then just pew pew them into the next life, rinse and repeat.
I’m not a big fan of the “Bear-Bow”, but dang… the bears will last quite a while if the victims happen to get off 1 or 2 attacks before dying in a 1 v 10 fight.
Imagine a trapper ranger with this setup! xD
So really all they have to do is make the “leave the mists” button act like alt F4…

With Warrior’s Sprint traited, movement skills remove immobilization; however, this is BUGGED regarding Bull’s Charge. When depressed, Bull’s Charge “does” remove the immobilization (condition icon disappears), but the warrior does not charge 600 units. The animation happens, but he stays in the same spot as if immobilized.

When I have Nature Magic as a specialization and, therefore, inherit Lingering Magic, my buffs/boons from CotW go from 15s to 18s in the tool tip and when executing CotW, WH5.
What buffs are you not seeing increase by 20%?

Does it also work on your pet? Because, as far as I know, the buffs must be increased by 50% on pet and it is not the case.
OK… So I just did the same test with CotW without Lingering Magic traited and with it traited, but this time I observed my pet’s buffs…
Without Lingering Magic traited, my pet got 15s buffs from CotW (same as me).
With Lingering Magic traited, my pet got 21s buffs from CotW. (I got 18s.)
So, yes, Lingering Magic is working on my pet too for about 50% additional duration to the original buff time he got.

Windborne Notes Regeneration “Duration” BUGGED
With Windborne Notes traited, it says that it’s giving 12s of Regeneration to CotW (note: it’s getting 2s from Lingering Magic). CotW’s tool tip says “Regen 12s”; however, when you press CotW via WH5, you only get 5s of Regeneration whether you’re in combat or out of combat.
However…
If you have Clarion Bond traited and CotW procs on combat pet swap, then you DO get the full 12s of Regen.
Conclusion: Anet didn’t test WH5’s CotW with Windborne Notes traited to see if it actually trigged the full duration of Regen it’s supposed to.
Please add this to the list of bugs.

1) SHUT THE SERVERS DOWN ASAP!
2) ROLL EVERYTHING BACK to PRE-PATCH
and then…
3) Do some REAL QA - take weeks if you have to – on this patch. (Put HoT down… work on this patch instead.)
4) Try it again only after you’re 500% more confident that it’s NOT going to be another atomic bomb drop.
5) Be prepared to Roll it back, again if necessary. (If it’s again “FAIL”… rinse and repeat – see step #1.)
Every hour that you leave this patch up… it gets exponentially worse. (I’m not even going to to log-in with the game like this.)

Quickness reduces the distance covered by Greatsword 3 Whirlwind, and Greatsword 5 Rush
How to reproduce: Simply activate quickness (like the frenzy skill) and use GS3 or 5. The distance moved is greatly reduced.quickness has always worked this way with movement skills and its actually usefull on warrior
edit: if you think this should have been changed with the june 23th patch, the notes only speak of “Movement-speed adjustments” which doesnt include slow or quickness
I strongly feel it is a bug. Here’s my logic:
The skills state the distance covered.
Quickness and Slow only affect the speed of skill execution, not range. For example they dont make projectiles travel further, nor do they make blink or teleport shorter or longer range.
The distance should not vary, only the time it takes to cover that distance.
Now the bug here is that these skills do NOT actually have the distance hardcoded into them. What they have is a channel time, and a travel speed. Quickness alters the channel time, but not the movement speed.
Heres the simple math behind the bugs:
GS3 Whirlwind is channel 0.75s and range 450, which gives it a travel speed of 600 per 1s.
GS5 Rush is channel 2s, and range 1200, for a travel speed of 600 per 1s also.So for GS3 Whirlwind, Cast time of 0.75 divided by Quickness 1.5 = 0.5 Cast time. 0.5 x speed 600 = 300 units of distance covered.
Rush is the same. Cast time of (2 / 1.5) x 600 = 800 distance.
When you look at it like this and realize the range is not hardcoded in but a function of channel time multiplied by movement rate, it seems pretty obvious that the interaction with Quickness/Slow is unintentional.
Edit: The fix would be easy, just for Whirlwind and Rush, have the movement rate get modified too. Quickness would multiply the movement rate by 1.5 while slow would divide the movement rate by 1.5. The resulting math would be….
Normal Rush: 2 × 600 = 1200 covered
Slow Rush (2 * 1.5) x (600 / 1.5) = 1200 covered
Quickness Rush: (2 / 1.5) x (600 × 1.5) = 1199.7 coveredClose enough!

Thank you for explaining how this can be fixed, and hopefully Anet Development puts your logic into their code to fix this distance problem for everybody when Quickness/Slow is applied!

With warrior’s sprint this is supposed to be breaking out of immobilize but it currently does not. The tooltip still states that it does.

Lauren, when you do finally reopen HoM, I feel that it would go a LONG WAY in the eyes of your more than patient GW1 and GW2 patrons to receive an In-game Email of Apology and Announcement that the HoM is once again open for business. Not everybody comes to these forums daily to check on this (or any other) outstanding issues.
Side thought: You might do well to just send such an email to every player period upon login. It may give us renewed faith in your commitment to communicate with the community on important issues, and perhaps people will reconsider buying GW1 and grinding some monument points (not to mention reconsider buying HoT ).

Your items aren’t account or soul bound are they? If so, you cannot deposit those kinds of items into the Guild vault.
Try depositing something like a mat, say… orichalcum ore.

So if i have a soulbound twilight and a soulbound sunrise and i make eternity is it automatically account bound or can I resell it?
It will be unbound and you can sell it (you won’t get the skin, though, unless you bind it).

I know it’s hard to believe that it might not be a bug, but… it might not be broken. The wiki says, “Unblockable projectiles cannot be reflected.”

This Golem Rush event with its BUGS and EXPLOITS has turned WvW into a Cesspool!
Anet, I can appreciate you trying to spice-up WvW with an event. But please use this example as what can and will happen again if future events are not thoroughly thought-out and properly tested for bugs and exploits. Also, Please consider NOT running an event like this for an entire WvW WEEK. One or two days would have been sufficient for most people to engage it. Then we could have gotten back to WvW business as usual.
Also, and I won’t dwell on it much, but you started the Golem Rush event early for NA, as if EU and NA are not reset at different times. And I remember reading from someone’s post that they were lucky enough in his tier to have a close matchup – 500 pts separating the score, so it was going to come down to the final minutes of the final day to decide the winners, and this early Golem Rush event implementation for NA impacted their match’s outcome. This further illustrates the lack of proper planning and execution of this event…. something to learn from.
Lastly, please DO NOT consider this event a success just because your reports potentially show “new player” WvW activity/interest due to K-trainers and Exploiters that logged into WvW this week to take advantage of this event’s numerous shortcomings.

OP, I agree with RoseofGilead. The laurel pay is adequate now.
If you’re trying to equip a toon with full ascended armor, 2+ different ascended weapons and full ascended trinkets (rings, amulet, and accessories) all with upgrades, it’s not going to happen overnight, but it’s not going to take a year either. I got two toons in full ascended armor, trinkets and weapons – ranger and warrior. (And my ranger’s got ascended water weapons as well.) As mentioned, you just gotta log in every day to get your daily login rewards and make sure you select the Laurel option from the 30th day Loyalty reward prize. And after a few months, you too will have what you need to go full ascended… everything!
Plus, every now and then you can get ascended rings and ascended weapons chests in WvW as you rank up. And, if I’m not mistaken, Fractals give away ascended rings like they’re candy. (You Fractal runners may be able to vouch more for this than I. Last time I ran a fractal was 2 years ago :P) So if you enjoy Fractals, I’d recommend running them to see if you can get the rings you want and save your laurels for other ascended items.

You misunderstand what they said. They are able to dupe the golems themselves….. They arent having to buy any. They buy one, then can make many from the one.
OMG… this is just a whole new level of FAIL.
Ok, like many folks, I’ve been avoiding WvW this week due to this “Event” /cough.
So, let me get this straight… one bloke buys a golem blueprint for 100 badges. He then uses that one print to make… say… 50 golems due to this bug. His guild and other pugs jump into the golems that Anet thought was a good idea to “supercharge” (the golems have +100% power and +100% speed and whatever.) And when they get tired of golem driving, they jump out of the golems but still retain the +100% power/speed buff due to yet another bug with this event. They do this all day and just rinse and repeat as needed, which equates to 7 days of utter WvW chaos.
Yeah, Anet, we need you to implement more events like this in WvW that are obviously well thoughtout and thoroughly tested. /sarcasm.

How about another Major BUG FIX PATCH to fix the Crap-ton of Bugs introduced by June 23rd’s Specialization update?
Yeah, we got a major Bug Fix patch on July 7th that addressed some of that kitten. But there’s still a TON of BUGS that need desperate attention. Every class is riddled with half-broken skills, traits, faulty sigil/rune proc’ing and whatnot. And many of these issues are rather severe. (See the Bugs and Class forums for more details.)

I have another bug to contribute…
With Warrior’s Sprint traited, movement skills remove immobilization; however, this is BUGGED regarding Bull’s Charge. When depressed, Bull’s Charge “does” remove the immobilization (condition icon disappears), but the warrior does not charge 600 units. The animation happens, but he stays in the same spot as if immobilized.

In my video, the mob will put the first immobilization on me and I use Savage Leap (Sword 2) to illustrate how Warrior’s Sprint’s effect is working correctly with a skill – it removes the immobilization and then I leap… no problem.
When the second immobilization is put on me by the same mob, I use Bull’s Charge. Notice how the immobilization icon immediately disappears, but unlike Savage Leap, I don’t move at all – BUGGED.
When the 3rd and last immobilization is put on me, I just stand there to show how long an immobilization lasts on me if I don’t do any movement skills.
Please add this to the list. I really count on this working in WvW when I’m hemmed up and taking an kitten-whooping… haha! Thank you!
Maybe I missed an announcement but i have not been able to access the rewards in hall of monuments recently. Never was a problem since game launch. Error message: this content has been temporarily disabled. Try again another time. Anyone?
No announcements in game or in the launcher because that would be too “customer-kitten-friendly,” and we can’t have that! So you’re left to grind them GW1 Monument points in good-ole blind-faith. But low and behold, you get golem-smacked in the mouth when you try to cash them chips in at the HoM.
Confused and a bit perturbed, you come to the forums and try searching for information on the situation. But that’s when you hit road block #2… the kitten forum Search function is broken and has been for …ever! So if you happen to notice Anet’s official sticky about using “google.com” to search the GW2 forums, you might get some direct answers. And, I know… you might be thinking, "If google.com is the way to search the GW2 forums, then why is the kitten “Search this Forum” box still enabled on every GW2 forums page?"
Now definitely perturbed and maybe a little outraged, you resort to posting a new entry into these forums to check your sanity and see if others have also fallen victim to the same HoM trolling… and the answer is… Yes! As mentioned, it’s been down a 1/3 year so far and counting. :/
This is just sad and pathetic… geesh!
WvW is just disgusting with its broken-kitten events, BUGS, and continued neglect.
And can we get a bug-patch? It is Tuesday. But, then again, the bug-patch will most definitely release even more horrors into the game… so…nevermind.

5% PvE and Dungeons only out of necessity… for world completion (Gift of Exploration) and 500 dung tokens for a Gift of “X” when I’m making a Legendary.
PvE is also good for testing the New BUGS that are regularly introduced every major patch, builds, skills, and mechanics.
