I don’t understand why people are complaining about the chatter. For 2 years now most of us have had to listen to “For Great Justice!” “Getting Healthy” “That Feels Good” “Pain For Pain!” lol. I just think it bothers people because it’s new. In a few weeks you will hardly notice it.
It’s a decent enough idea to introduce some comedy into the game. But with that said, this talking back pack that EVERYBODY can hear has been poorly implemented imo. I say this because it was put into game w/o a way of controlling it exclusively.
Just like there’s a slider for the player instrument volume in Options, so should a slider be there for “player bought item noise” (or something). That way I, and others that don’t want to hear such “noise”, don’t have to turn off ALL of the game’s dialog just to not be annoyed by somebody’s new toy. I like that I don’t have to lose listening to the game’s magnificent score just because I don’t want to hear someone’s horrible attempt at playing jingle bells on that flute…. over and over and over again.
You may be right – in a few weeks (or months) perhaps people won’t even hear the repetitive “go faster” every 2 seconds while running in a WvW zerg. But WHY??!!! put something into game that could (and does) alienate some of your player base? And introducing something like this back pack that can’t be managed properly can make some people just not log in until they have an adequate way of managing it… i.e. – the “player bought item noise” slider.
(I know that if I couldn’t turn off player instrument volume, I wouldn’t play this game.)

Anet, I’m guessing this is a bug…
While in WvW today, I noticed that I can hear the repetitive phrases spoken by other people’s Replica Job-o-Tron back pack. Today is the first time since it was made available that I actually heard one speak, and I happen to have been in WvW. So either this is a WvW only bug with this back pack or I just haven’t been around anybody with one in the pve zones yet.
I’m guessing the phrases spoken by the Replica Job-o-Tron were not meant to be heard by anybody but the wearer. So that’s why I’m reporting it as a bug. The only way that I can silence this demon that other people are wearing is to completely turn down the Dialog Volume in Options. I prefer not to do this, but it’s the only way that I can presently see to shut-up this back pack, which I do not own.
NOTE: blocking the player(s) with this back pack didn’t silence their Replica Job-o-Tron. Please correct this problem.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, it’s been this way since the dawn of time. And I doubt it’ll get fixed any time soon (if ever). But, if you catch it just right, you can walk on air and avoid the stutter step. /shrugs
Targeting has never been “right.” But it took a HUGE Step BACKWARDS with the September patch. It’s like they used old code for target nearest enemy when building the Sept update. Now that it’s November, maybe we’ll see target nearest get back to where it was pre-Sept patch? :/
This is obviously a bug, as a thief cant use steal, necros cant use DS.. etc when downed.
If you cant see it on the screen while downed, you shouldnt be able to use it.
Hmm… did a ranger that you downed use his wolf pet’s F2 fear on you and then call his wolf to him to help rez his master??
I don’t know what you’re talking about. That’s utter madness and could never happen!
- Still can’t enter # of gems you want to sell, only gold received. If you are selling your 2000 gems from a Gem Card, you have to home in on the amount of gold closest to 2000 gems.
- You don’t get “exact change” when buying gold, meaning buying 100 g will give you 100 g and not 100 g and a few silver and copper. We still have to pay exact change to buy gems so why not the reverse?
Hey, man, you know what? It’s better than it was yesterday. I’ll take it for what it’s worth.
Today, if I want to buy 17 gems, I CAN buy EXACTLY17 gems. If I want buy 106 gold, I CAN buy EXACTLY106 gold. I’m glad to have the button.
Is it perfect? No. But it’s close enough. Thank you.

Crafting precursors? haha… I wouldn’t hold my breath! You’re better off dumping rares and exotics into the toilet. As sad as it sounds, you’ll get a precursor faster doing that than waiting on precursor crafting to be introduced into GW2.
(Or just save up for your precursor and buy it from the TP.)
Good luck! You’re going to need it!
TimeFlex,
This problem you’re experiencing might be caused by some corrupt client GW2 files on your PC. (I think this because the TP has been working fine for me and I’ve not heard others complaining about the TP in game with the same problem.) You can do a repair on your client files, which will hopefully fix the problem.
I found the steps on how to repair on the GW2 help page:
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/28148006-Repairing-the-Game-Client
NOTE: the repair process can take 1/2 hour to an hour or so.
I hope this helps you, buddy.
Yes, I’ve had this happen when selling from my inventory and TP is loading up. The button actually will say “List this item” briefly. If you click it at that moment, it sells for the minimum like Megumi said. I’ve learned to not, what I call, “speed sell” from my inventory. And it’s all good.
OP, funny it happened to you with silk scraps because that’s exactly the item that I sold 30 of for 9c (or whatever) by mistake when I first encountered this situation a week ago.
All in all, I can deal with this little problem with all the TP advancements. TP has improved greatly overall imo.
…and I realized the target closest feature had actually been broken (even more than it had been). Not good.
I couldn’t have said it better. Yes, targeting (the game’s biggest Achilles heel imo) is now even worse. Heck, even general tab targeting cannot be counted on to select the enemy player in wvw first when pressed. Too often I find myself yelling, “Kitten!!!! How about targeting the HUMAN PLAYER 3 feet in front of me!!!” /facepalm.
Sadly, Anet seems hell bent on destroying their product with this hideous failing.
Hi, there is bug when using swoop on ranger then doing something and eagle gets stuck on character.. it looks very bad on my ranger.. please fix it! i dont want to run around Tyria with that eagle flapping through my characters head always..
Man, I reported this almost a year ago. And it still goes unfixed.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Ranger-Swoop-Animation-Glitch/first#post3258413
And just recently, I experienced the same type of bug with the shark animation on Spear’s #3 skill – Dart. (I didn’t even bother reporting it based on Anet’s lack of enthusiasm with fixing kitten like this.)
You stealth….and whatever the guy was going to do before you stealthed occurs anyway. Biggest baddest example is the ranger machine gun.
Rapid Fire (machine gun) has always tracked thru stealth. I don’t believe it’s a bug.
Yes, finishing a player is extremely more difficult in WvW now. As mentioned above, I, too, have to be right on top of the downed player and wait a second or so before the option to finish the player becomes available.
To the OP… I know this suggestion is not “harder content”
Then why make it when OP clearly states he’d like to see harder content?
Because he also mentioned that he wants a challenge. As users, we can immediately and directly alter the level of difficulty that it takes to conquer the content by making ourselves less dominant, which can make for a more challenging experience. Do you (or anyone) really think that coming on the forums and posting that “I want….[insert desire here]” is really going to make Anet change something as core about their game as the content’s difficulty level? Especially since doing so will please some and anger others who are probably the majority. What I suggested was my experience and what may offer the OP something that he can control and regulate. (It’s similar to selecting a difficulty level option in some console games I’ve played in the past – easy, normal, hard.) If you want hell mode, go bare-knuckles!
(edited by Krypto.2069)
To the OP… I know this suggestion is not "harder content, " but you could attack the mobs bare-knuckle style.
No joke – put that legendary/ascended weapon down and pick up a green or a blue. And if that’s not challenging enough, take off some armor or remove your trinkets. (Or remove your alternate weapon.)
I know it sounds crazy, but I was doing some sigil testing with a white weapon a few weeks ago, and it’s amazing how much more effort I had to use to kill even simple mobs. It’s just a thought. GL!
The game will be dead and buried before the Ranger F2 skills work properly. It’s comical really… and pathetic.
not trying to brag
Hard to take that seriously with your foot note
I take the OP very seriously. What he says is true. Ranger is the class that is forced to play with one hand tied behind his back while wearing a blindfold. It’s BS! And Anet knows it.
Furious Grip is supposed to give 9 seconds of fury, but it only gives 5 seconds of fury.
Why was this not “hotfixed” the same way as LB fury was?
It is easier to fix it because only a change in one variable is needed.
A valid question, but you know why it wasn’t, right??? It’s because that would actually “HELP” the ranger! That’ll get fixed sometime in late 2014/2015. Until then, just continue playing with a handicap rangers… you’re used to it.
What about, when your pet dies, you get 20s of fury? OMG! A trait that would actually make sense!!! A ranger getting angry about their pet kicking the bucket!
Wow! I love this idea!
You kill my pet, I get angry… VERY ANGRY! And for a time, I can make up the damage potential lost by my pet’s death.
+1
It is interesting how a bug that helps the ranger can get fixed in a few days, but things like correcting pet tool tips goes unfixed for over a year. And I refuse to believe that correcting pet tool tips is a harder task than fixing eagle eye. (I’m not even talking about pet AI or the F2 button’s failings… I’m talking about tool tips, people… TOOL TIPS!)
Anet has the resources to make improvements regarding ranger (they just proved it), but they “choose” not to. Think about that the next time you consider buying gems.
Have one toon (your main) all decked out in the finest gear laurels can buy. The rest of your litter gets blues and greens and maybe one rare. I don’t see the problem.
Because DPS pets with +25k hp would be OP. Or bears with +50k hp.
This is probably what they’re thinking. But it’s wrong. (Not that a huge health pool is the way to go to make pets viable in Zerg fights) AoE damage reduction or invulnerability would be best.
No, what they really need to do is give us the ability to stow our pets during combat. And for heavens sake give me an F key to use for this purpose (and for the passive/aggressive toggle). This would go such a very long way in the “right” direction with the ranger’s pets.
Finally… SOME JUSTICE!!!! hahahahaha!
Was this after the patch using the horribly bugged eagle eye trait that gives you fury on every hit?
For the sake of all rangers….You must delete this response
Hahahaaha!
It’s a “feature”! Say it with me, brothers…. “It’s a new ‘feature’!”
Xsorus here, I was testing out longbow, and I noticed something, and i’ve not figured out what’s causing it yet
Every single crit longbow does, grants me a stack of fury…. usually after rapid shot, I have bloody 21 seconds of it.
edit
Nm, found what is causing the bug, its Eagle Eye
SILENCE!!!
It’s a feature! It’s compensation for all the pet related bugs/failings. I welcome this “feature”!
Really that you guys only knew it now?
In the update where missions got 71% HP buff, it was only in PvE. Not in WvW and PvPLOL yup this is it… its not that they have less in wvw/spvp, its just that they didnt get buffed like in pve.
This^^
And it’s just obvious now that they added the numerical HP value to the pet’s HP bar.
But I sure do wish ol’ fluffy had the pve HP boost in WvW. It might help compensate “a little” for the fail kitten F2 skills, not being able to stow fluffy while in combat, or the lack of F key functionality for stowing and passive/aggressive toggle. Heaven forbid any of that stuff gets added or fixed.
I’m necro’ing this thread.
Hahaha…. I like your term – necro’ing! And this thread needs it.
I’ve had this problem when trying to pick up something off the ground and “miss” picking it up for any reason. If this happens, I lose my ability to use my skills until I die.
This has been happening particularly when trying to pick up my porcine pets’ found objects while playing my ranger. And it’s been going on for about 6 – 8 weeks.
If my memory serves me correctly, it was one of the borderlands – Mag’s, if I’m not mistaken. So it was the Green BL.
I hope this helps.
It has happened to me when trying to pick up objects found by my ranger’s porcine pets. If I “miss” picking an item up for any reason, like I’m not perfectly on top of it when I try to pick it up, I lose all use of my skills until I die. Gotta love it! I started having this problem about 6 to 8 weeks ago.
Although I do get a lot of carrots, I received sage leaves and beets from nodes in WvW earlier today. I’m using the Consortium Harvesting Sickle.
Check the refresh rate on your monitor and make sure it’s within your monitor’s specifications. Mine is set to 60 Hertz, which I think is common.
If you have Win7, here’s how to get to it:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution…
Click the Advanced Setting link then the Monitor tab.
Also, reloading your video card drivers might help if it’s not a refresh issue.
Good luck!
… their product has been degrading right before our vey eyes.
You know… I’m glad I’m not the only person that has been noticing this. It almost seems like it’s deliberate. As if Anet has a saboteur in their ranks breaking things faster than they can be fixed. And I’m being serious! Over the last couple of months, more and more areas of the game are having minor to game breaking/serious failings. WTH is going on behind Anet’s doors?
If needed, Anet, please push the Dec. 10th update ahead as to try to make sure it’s not going to be the “Mother” of all bug infested updates.
IMHO… forget new content; do bug fixes, because your product is heavily infested.
Sounds like a great April Fool’s Day event!!
Ohhhh HELL YES! I want that now! It would be hilarious!
Commander: “You there… get on that Superior AC and rain pain down on the enemy!”
Random Player: "But commander, we got our zerg down there as well. They’ll get hit too!"
Commander: “If they’re on TS, they’ll move out of the way. If not, pfft… collateral damange. FIRE AWAY!”
I didnt even expect much… but at least they could have given us a permanent Finisher.
Well, it’s become apparent to me that Anet doesn’t expect people to actually be playing the game too much longer. So that’s why it’s temporary.
/disrespect
Aside from the JPs, they completed themselves. But that still doesn’t excuse the joke of an award chest.
I say why even have the achievements and chests in the first place. It’s all BS, including the season itself!
Hey, Anet, how about fixing some of these kitten bugs you keep creating and removing the toxic crap from WvW? Now that would be an achievement!
(edited by Krypto.2069)
Seriously? I invested hundreds of golds in siege and upgrades this season for this (2nd place)?
Why wasn’t everything at minimum exotic?
Just awesome.
7 greens, WOW! That’s not far off from the predictions from some people that we’d get a few greens and some blues as a Season 1 chest reward.
Anet’s giving away SALVAGEABLES as prizes… OMG!!!!
Seriously, Anet, why are greens even a possibility to RNG out of these chests? It should be rares or higher. (Heck, ideally, exotics or higher.) 7 weeks of work and achievement efforts for some greens. /facepalm!
OP,
It’s always been on downed for me, and I got both of them immediately after they were implemented into WvW. (I had been saving up my WXP points waiting for something good like these bonuses.) And the tool tip, like ohhh so many tool tips, has always been wrong.
It amazes me that such a small thing as tool tips can continue being incorrect for months or even a year plus in some cases. It’s sad and pathetic.
The Horde is getting restless! Anet better throw them a bone soon.
Apart from looking for good 1v1’s, or 1v2s my favorite activity is as other mentioned finding that last guy in the zerg, the one who is just far enough behind that I can attack him and the people ahead just keep going.
He’s so desperate to keep up with the zerg he’ll hardly retaliate, and the people in front of him pause for a second, look round and begin to move to help, but change their minds when they see the main zerg is moving onwards, leaving their brother in arms to his death, hopefully ignoring his shrill cries on teamspeak like a rabbit in a hawks talons.
Only at the point when he can see his team has abandoned him does he turn around to salvage some dignity by retaliating but by then it’s too late. The last few hits finish him off and I know he’ll be releasing back to the keep, having to make the treacherous journey back to the zerg, having missed a keep take, paying for armor repair and knowing that on his way back alone, there’s a chance i’ll be waiting again, my appetite for destruction unquenchable.
Glorious.
Ohhh HELL YES! Killing those stragglers is too much fun! I also like chasing them to the ends of the earth putting arrows in their behind until they eventually drop. I’m a LB, GS Ranger, so the farther they get from me, the more damage my auto attack does on my bow. Interestingly, many stragglers don’t seem to realize this. And once they get to 25% health, Predator’s Instinct kicks in and they become crippled… nothing’s gonna save them at that point.
I play for the screams and sound effects! (Oh and the FUN too!) I love it when you’re in some epic battle and all you hear is the screaming of the dying enemy. Also the sound clips are too funny.
One of my favorites is from an Asura talking during battle. He’ll say, “How does that feel? Excruciating?” LOVE IT!
I swear… the “G” in GW2 stands for GLITCH!!!
Just look at this Game Bugs forum… OMG! As of this moment, there are 924 pages in the Game Bugs forum, but only 827 pages in the GW2 Discussion forum.
Hmm…
/Shameless!
(edited by Krypto.2069)
My prediction…
Without any incentive like the league chests, the current WvW maps – EB and the BLs will become an empty waste lands when EOTM comes out. People don’t care about PPT now. They sure has heck won’t care when the shiny new, “queue-less” EOTM map comes out and there are no league chests to potentially win.
I know I’m looking forward to the new and fresh maps and the loads of FUN it’s going to be doing something other than the old stale maps we have now.
EOTM will become the New WvW
An item that lets you toggle on/off auto consume food/applies oils when it runs out. Every WvW-er would buy it.
Ohh…HELL YES! Give me some of this! I’d pay gems for it… GLADLY!
Haha…. Man, I can’t tell you exactly how many of the ranger pets have incorrect tool tips, but let’s just say it’s around 1/3 to 1/2. When I was doing some pet “uselessness” testing a few weeks ago, I ran into many incorrect tool tips. It was sad.
Anet’s QA should be ashamed of how something so simple is still incorrect in a game that’s been out for more than a year. These are LOW HANGING FRUIT bugs, Anet. It wouldn’t take someone more than a couple hours or so to go thru all the pets, test the skills and correct these tool tips. You sit there and want new people to become “Citizens of Tyria”, but you can’t fix something as simple as inaccurate notes on skills? Have some pride…geesh!
Yes, the GS twirl seems to be fixed. But my female ranger still runs like a man.
Actually, I like how someone else put it in another thread, “she runs like a thug” now. I know that’s what I want to see… my FEMALE ranger running like some hoodlum.
I’ve found that if the attacker is in mid-attack when I stealth as a ranger, I still get hit. The same goes for me when I attack with say my Rapid Fire skill. If I half-way get the first shot (of 10) off, then all the shots will find the stealth enemy – NPC or player.
You didn’t read in the release notes that this is a new skill implemented in the last patch. It’s called the ZERG-BUSTER!
It’s only supposed to work during the heat of passi… “battle” as a diversionary tactic. While you’re exposed, the enemy is stunned… (literally the dudes at their keyboards are stunned) watching your naked, hot kitten run around for as long as your clothes remain invisible. Feel free to flee, fight or just “hang out” and look irresistible as the ENTIRE ZERG stops attacking and Stands at ATTENTION!!
I agree, if you don’t get it fully cast, it shouldn’t go into it’s CD. That’s bull-kitten!
If I try to do Rampage As One (which is a ranger elite skill) and I dodge roll before completing the 1 second cast time, it kicks off a 4 sec CD then I can try to cast it again. If I cast it completely, it goes into its 120 sec CD.
I’d say what you’re experiencing is a bug.

1. Find the real mesmer
2. Press ctrl+T to mark himIt even works when you aren’t in a group now.
Ohhhh…. I like this idea! Thank you.
I usually just tab until I get the real mez or click on him, but I’m going to do the marking now too! Thanks again!
