I believe that the golem dup bug and buff bug will remain and the team will need time to resolve it.

Buff bug wont matter if there is no buff. Dupe is worse off though.

Yeah, I am expressing a lack of faith in their version control procedure which is probably unwarranted. If the change is not clean, the buff will still exist.

With the historical way Anet implements things with little to no “quality” QA, patches that break things as much as they fix (if not more), and Anet’s slowness in addressing even low hanging fruit bugs and minimal communication with the community….. NO, I think your lack of faith in Anet’s version control procedure IS VERY WARRANTED!

I agree… but don’t hold your breath!

Yep, that’s a bowstring. I managed to break Kudzu the other day and the bow string just stayed in my hand. It was completely separated from my bow. Even after I swapped weapons I kept the bow string. It was there when I harvested and Kudzu no longer had a string at all.

I threw a rock at Zommoros for giving me a faulty legendary.

It provides only 20 toughness instead of 120 it should.
It’s been since few days already, no idea why noone reported it yet… may be ppl doesn’t care much about how their passive traits works.

OP, someone posted it last week:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Warrior-Trait-Thick-Skin

I have tested and confirmed this bug. As mentioned above, THICK SKIN only gives “20” Toughness, instead of giving “120” Toughness. It’s definitely BUGGED!

This is a Critical Trait for Frontline Warriors that engage the enemy before anyone else. That extra toughness = survivability!

Anet, this sounds like a “Low Hanging Fruit” kind of bug – a typo. Please find the constant/variable that says “20” and make it “120”. Minimal time and minimal effort kind of bug, no?

Thanks!

Thank you, I searched forum for siege, found nothing.

That’s because, sadly, the Official GuildWars 2 Forum website’s SEARCH Function is Bugged/Broken, and it has been broken since its inception 3 years ago.

At the top of each forum page in the red “sticky” area you’ll find the official response from Anet, which is to use google.com, because GW2’s forum search ain’t getting fixed any time soon:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Searching-the-Forums/first#post4701436

Maybe one day they’ll just remove the “Search This Topic” box and stop trolling.

This, all of this. How is it still so broken is beyond me….

Oh, that’s easy and I can tell you why….

Priorities

…because of all the GW2 game modes, EoTM is easily at the bottom. When you consider sPvP aka E-SPORTS!!!!, WvW (and EoTM is “not” WvW in the eyes of many including me), Dungeons/Fractals and general PVE, EoTM is prioritized just slightly above Anet fixing the dye preview issue, which will see some attention sometime between now and when the devil will have to shop for a winter coat. (Hell, the dye preview issue might actually get fixed before EoTM… lol!)

Good luck with getting anything fixed in Karma-Train Town until HoT goes live (or probably not until they fix the 2K bugs that will be introduced after it goes live is probably more accurate.)

Why on earth did you change HS to not trigger when standing on it at full HP? This is a terrible change and I seriously hope it’s a bug. What if I’m at full health but want a condi cleanse? If we aren’t traited wilderness then we don’t have a lot of choices for condi cleanse. Please change this back. Also, please let it properly heal our pets like it used to.

You guys said you were going to make things up to us with traps since you added an arming time, but HS is worse than it was before.

And if this occurred because of the fix to make it work with trapper runes, I would prefer you change it back. This is makes this heal not worth using.

+1

Xarallei, I agree wholeheartedly! Rangers shouldn’t have to trait Wilderness Survival to have condi cleaning options because HS won’t trigger now if you have 100% health and try to use it to cleanse a condition like Chill, Immobilize or Cripple. And like you said, it does make HS less useful compared to the former way it functioned.

Anet, perhaps a solution would be to have the HS trap trigger if the Ranger (or any “friendly”) is within its ring or crosses into its ring that has less than 100% health AND/OR any kind of condition. (Imagine putting HS like it is on a rammer in WvW that just happens to have 100% health when you dropped the HS trap because the ele in your havoc is healing him too. So to get the HS trap to be useful to him, he’d have to take damage, get off the ram, exit the HS ring and re-enter it for it to trip, then get back on the ram… not really practical.

NOTE: As if right now, I got WS traited, but I’m playing around with Troll U to see how viable it is for me vs HS in its current state. Troll U is waaaaay less team friendly, but I need a heal that I can count on.

Healing Spring “Trap” won’t Trigger if…

…you lay Healing Spring while you have 100% health and stay within the trap and then start taking damage. You have to exit the trap and re-enter it to trigger it w/o having 100% health (or lay it after taking damage).

Sounds like a BIG BUG to me… watch the video at the bottom of this post.

Imagine coming up on an enemy thief, for instance, and seeing him shadow refuge. So you drop Healing Spring knowing that he’s probably going to attack any second. You figure you’re gonna need HS for the cleansing and healing/regen. The problem is that it won’t trigger until you exit HS and re-enter it without full health. The enemy thief shadow steps to you and hits you with some venom turning you to stone or immobilizing you or just chilling you, and… You CANNOT get the benefits of Your Own Healing Spring because you gotta exit the kitten thing and re-enter it for it to trip, but you can’t because you’re incapacitated (you’re immobilized!!!).

The proof (this video is of me fighting a mob in PVE, but you get the idea):
https://youtu.be/0GH7C9PkM_E

In my opinion, if the Ranger is standing in his own HS trap and starts to take damage, it needs to instantly trip. He shouldn’t have to exit it and re-enter it w/o 100% health in order for it to trip or wait until he’s taking damage to drop HS.

Hot Fix?

Point Blank Shot with Quick Draw “AND WITH” Lead The Wind… BUGGED!

When you have Lead the Wind traited, Point Blank Shot’s CD is reduced from 15 seconds to 12 seconds.

Now, with Quick Draw also traited (so you’ve got Lead the Wind and Quick Draw traited), if you engage combat with some other weapon, i.e. Great sword, and then switch to Long Bow and immediately use Point Blank Shot, its CD is 5 seconds but it should be 4 seconds.

Conclusion: Quick Draw (which reduces the first skill’s CD by 66% that’s used after a weapon swap in combat) is mistakenly using the original 15s CD in its formula as if Lead the Wind is not traited.

In competitive play (PVP, WvW) that 1 second longer CD on PBS can make or break a fight, especially since PBS is a knockback/interrupt.

Anet please fix.

Thank you,

Ok, just did some more testing with Quick Draw and Lead the Wind traited with using LongBow…

Quick Draw never takes the lowered CD value of the LongBow skills from Lead the Wind into consideration when it’s applying its -66% CD reduction!!!

The synergy between Quick Draw and Lead the Wind is BROKEN.

Quietscribe, I agree with you – it’s quite appalling that this issue has gone on for over a 1/4 year now. I think the reason is two fold:

1) It’s like you said…

…its probably a massive job for them to sort this thing out…

and…

2) Anet keeps releasing updates every few weeks that unleash a crap-ton of bugs into the game that are so severe that most of them trump working on the GWAMM/HoM situation. (Not to mention HoT development, debugging and fixes taking up resources.)

So the GWAMM/HoM situation gets pushed to the back burner… again and again. And, sadly, I think with this most recent June 23rd Specialization update, I would be really surprised if Anet has any spare time right now to continue digging thru the mountain that is the GWAMM/HoM problem. (Many of these June 23rd bugs are SUPER HIDEOUS based on these forum posts.)

But I think it’s important that all the folks that are GW1 patrons try to keep this thread alive and at the forefront of the Bugs forum so Anet gets constant reminders that this situation “IS” important to Many GW2 Players, who may be iffy on buying HoT if this issue is not continually being worked on and hopefully soon resolved.

I wish you guys all the luck in getting some justice and soon!

Flu, I did a quick search on the wiki, but I couldn’t find anything on changing ascended armor stats in the mystic forge as being a possibility.

Can anyone confirm ever doing this before?

If so, that would be GRAND!!!
Please explain how. (I wouldn’t mind changing a piece or two to see how it would affect my build.)

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge#Ascended_equipment_stat_change

I already changed the stats on an ascended scepter, and that worked just fine. That’s why I don’t understand why I can’t put my armor in.

Cool, man! Thanks for the tip!

Ok, all of my armor (all six pieces) show up in the Mystic Forge window when unequipped. And my rings do too, but my amulet and accessories do not (interesting).

Easy reason:

Anet stated you cant change the stats on trinkets, your rings probably appear simply because they are nor infused yet!

All my ascended gear, including rings, are infused. Who knows why they are showing up in the mystic item list if no trinkets are supposed to be changeable. (Presumably, it’s just another bug.) /shrugs

Thanks for the follow up, though.

Hi Paulus,

I just want to throw out a few things that come to mind that you may be able to do that may help eliminate the problem being ‘on your side of the fence’ per se. Some things mentioned might be out in left field (not probable causes), but I know stuff like this can be frustrating and you seem stuck with Support.

Disclaimer: I’m no expert, but I wanted to try and help you.

Things you can try if you have not already… (I tried to go from easiest to hardest)

1) Reset your router

2) Repair your GW2 client

3) If you’re using a lap top and a wireless connection, try using a wired connection. If you’re using a wired connection, try a different network cable and try a different port on your router.

4) Run a full virus and malware scan

5) Have you installed anything new (programs) recently? If so, perhaps they are interfering with GW2’s connectivity. Perhaps uninstall anything that you’ve installed within 2 weeks of the problem occurring could improve your situation.

6) If you have more than one PC that can handle GW2, try installing it on that PC and using it. (I know this one can be time consuming and tedious, but it could point to or rule out your normal gaming PC as the problem.)

Also, are there any other games you play having any kind of connectivity issues?

Hopefully, something I mentioned above helps you. But if it’s not a problem on your side, then at least you’ve done all you could do.

If I think of anything else, I’ll post it.

GL, man!

Anyway… try these things if you have not:

1) Put your ascended armor in a different bag. I know you said you don’t have it in an invisible bag, but just try anything other than the bag you have it in (starter bag).

2) Give the ascended armor piece to a different toon (an alt) and let that toon take it to the forge.

3) Try a forge somewhere else… at your Garrison for instance in WvW or Stone Mist Castle in WvW Eternal Battle Grounds (when you own it). Maybe it’s a bug with the forge you are at?

4) Repair your client

I hope one of these suggestions helps you, bud. If I think of anything else, I’ll post it.

Ranger Pets

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

This is STILL an ongoing issue and is being completely ignored!

I was doing Mai Train (Fractal) the other day, and specifically took the Brown Bear pet for the Condition Removal F2 skill it has. Yet, I was unable to remove conditions from the group with my pet! Why? Because every time I pressed F2, the pet immediately attacked the boss and ignored the utility skill! Even if you recall the pet, and press F2 again, it just rushes in to attack. I finally decided to let the pet attack the boss and see how long it’d take to cast it’s utility skill, if at all and it decided to cast it about 10seconds after attacking the boss, at a point when there were no conditions to remove!

This mechanic is so broken it’s not even funny anymore! I know pet F2 skills are “supposed” to trigger faster, and in most cases they do, but the pets are still attacking when they shouldn’t be!

The F2 skill is NOT an attack command (or shouldn’t be one!), it’s there to cast a skill. If the pet is on ‘avoid combat’ and you press F2, the pet should cast it’s skill and do nothing else. I cannot spell it out for you in any simpler terms!

Guys, I feel your pain with F2 in general.

With that said, there are two problems here:

1) Some pets, like the brown bear, cast their F2 skill only when they are within range of the target if you have an enemy selected when you hit F2. This is an obvious problem with the brown bear because his skill is beneficial to the Ranger and his party; therefore, he really shouldn’t run to the target and then cast his skill. A perfect example of this mechanic working correctly is with the fern hound and red moa. Because their F2 skills are beneficial to the Ranger, they pop their skill immediately where they are standing when the Ranger presses F2.

2) All pets to my recollection and testing (over the years) do go running off to a mob if a mob was targeted when F2 was pressed regardless if they popped their F2 skill immediately or when they got in range of a targeted mob. AND… all pets ultimately run off to the targeted mob regardless if they are set to passive or not, which, like you said, shouldn’t happen and I agree.

Side note:
About 6 months ago, I did some pet F2 testing and found that most pets will pop their F2 skill where they are standing if it’s beneficial to the Ranger, and most pets that do some kind of harm to enemies will run to the targeted enemy then pop their F2. However, there are bugs on both sides where pets are doing the opposite of what they should – like with the brown bear running to the enemy and then popping his F2 skill and the white moa popping his F2 skill (3s chill) where he’s standing.

The work around that I “try” to use is to make sure that I have no enemies selected before hitting F2 with certain pets that run off to the enemy before popping their F2 (or if I don’t want my pet to run to the enemy “at all”.) If I want a pet to run to the enemy that doesn’t before popping his F2 skill, like in the case with the white moa, I send him in first with F1 and then hit F2 when he’s in range.

I know, I know… these work-arounds are a pain in the kitten. But it’s an alternative way to try to get a positive result from a bugged mechanic. Maybe Anet will fix these things before the next ice age.

Well… that’s my 2… ummm… 5 coppers worth. (haha! )

GL all!

Soften the Fall is also BUGGED

Let me first say that the taking 50% less falling damage part of Soften the Fall seems to work correctly. However…

The first time you fall/jump from a sufficient height to take falling damage, Muddy Terrain procs (activates) correctly. The problem is that the Muddy Terrain part of Soften the Fall goes on a 25 second cool down as if you had just used the utility skill. This shouldn’t be happening and it’s not the way it worked pre-June 23rd-patch; the Muddy Terrain part of Soften the Fall was not on a CD if triggered by Soften the Fall.

Anet please fix this. I use Soften the Fall’s Muddy Terrain effect offensively in WvW combat.

NOTE: I can confirm that Warrior’s Death From Above’s Launch effect is triggering correctly (no CD), and I suspect the similar skills of other professions are working correctly if not also bugged.

Thank you,

Yeah, the fact that the server is “full” whilst having the lowest WvW population in Tier 2 speaks volumes to the poor method of calculating server population, especially now with the mega servers in PvE. Our massive PvE guilds are capping the server while contributing nothing to our WvW population.

Hey, Anet….

Instead of worrying about stuff like Applied Fortitude and Guard Killer stacks, how about you try doing something about this screen shot??? I just took this image a minute ago.

Pet F2 Skill Perma Chilled?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

I’ve noticed a weird thing with my pets activated skills (F2 skills) on occasion.

They will have a longer cooldown, with the displayed number having the blue hue that normally occurs when they’re chilled. However, they aren’t currently suffering from chill, and the cooldown never becomes “unchilled”, it always stays on the longer timer.

I’m not sure what causes this, but I’ve noticed it in PvP and I believe also in WvW. It was ever present while I was just sitting in HotM. Did they set the default pet skill cooldowns to be longer? I couldn’t find any reference to such a thing being done.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how this happened, but I didn’t seem to be able to get rid of it in any manner. I just noticed it when I was testing out some new pets and playing in PvP hotjoin matches.

Has anyone else run into this, or know what causes it and how to fix it? If I find someway to reproduce this, I’ll come back here and let you know. I was testing some things in WvW today but couldn’t get it to happen (i.e. letting the pet get chilled).

Yup, Yamsandjams, I’ve run into it and so have other rangers. (I’ve seen a few posts in here about it in the last few months.) It’s a BUG!

I’d say it first happened to me around 4 to 5 months ago, give or take. And it happened again yesterday as a matter of fact. NOTE: I’ve only had it happen to me in WvW. And it seems to happen more when I’m fooling around with some enemy Ele… dang them and their chill voodoo!

From the best that I can tell, once one of your pets gets chilled (and maybe he has to be chilled when you hit F2?), he’ll get what I call “Chilled-itus” (perma-F2 chill), AND… from that point ALL of your pets will have the disease!. The only cure that I “think” works is that one of the following happens:

1) You leave the map
2) “YOU” die (and I’m not sure this 100% cures it)
3) You re-log

Pet death, swapping pets, stow/unstow, and switching them out totally from your “zoo” doesn’t seem to have any affect.

The next time it happens, I’m going to report it in-game. I suggest all rangers do the same.

Thanks!

Sold Expensive item on TP for 2 copper

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

I just bought Permanent Bank Access Contract for 715 Gold on TP. In my excitement i double clicked the item in the sell items tab and not my inventory. With my luck the List My Item button was at the same place i double clicked. Therefor i instantly sold it to the highest bidder which was 710 Gold. So when i went to collect my money it was only 1 copper in my Delivery Box, and i saw that i just sold it for 2 copper. Also, the lowest bidder was 24 silver. So how can i get my Gold back?

OP, I’m sorry for your situation. And, as mentioned, you’re not the first to run into this TP glitch. Back in the fall of last year when Anet updated the TP, which gave us many TP improvements but introduced this issue, me and some other folks that “speed sell” out of our inventory ran into the “button not updated yet” bug. When the sell screen in the TP loads, and if there’s any lag at all, the “Sell Instantly” button actually comes up as a “List this item” button. The “List this item” button defaults to selling things at the lowest amount possible (a few friggin’ copper) and insta-sells your item w/o confirmation when clicked.

This bug has been going on since early Oct of 2014. (I dug it up):

IMHO worst case scenario should have been you sold your purchase for 710g and lost a few gold. Losing hard earned gold of any amount is dreadful, but losing a few gold out of 700+ wouldn’t have been the end of the world. (I’m guessing you’d just sucked it up and bought the item again and called it a day.) But what happened to you happened because this bug has not been fixed since the inception of the new/current TP last fall. (The Sell Instantly button should never ever say List This Item. And, ideally, any 100g or more sell should require a confirmation imo.)

Maybe you can point CS to the above thread and then they can see that this is an OLD PROBLEM that Anet has not fixed, which has caused you this major injustice. (This should have been fixed by now.)

Good luck! I hope this helps.

Guild Bank Issues

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

You know…. I can see the whole 500g mail limitation to help deal with the folks that are doing wrong (selling/buying gold from gold sellers). But I don’t understand how limiting guild withdraws from authorized guild members does anything but hurt a guild. It keeps their, again, “authorized officers” from having the means to withdraw money for needy things in a timely fashion.

It’s just my opinion, but I think Anet should leave control over who can withdraw what from a guild bank up to the guild leaders/upper guild management. And having more tools/options to control who can withdraw what might be a better approach in lieu of having a blanket – “no one can withdraw more than 500g a week” policy that not ever the guild leader can override.

OP, I hope you are able to get access to “your money” so you can spend it and not have to wait weeks to do so.

I can’t speak to the gold limiting issue, but I have been part of a guild in which some unscrupulous person steals the guild bank…

Or someone steals an account and that person then goes and steals the guild bank. I always found that suspect but you never know, it can happen.

It really sucks to lose your guild bank, at least on the positive side they can’t take all of your guild’s hard work. After being a victim before it is nice to have some sort of safeguard in place.

Thanks for the feedback, Lauren. Ok, yeah, I definitely see how a stolen/hacked account situation of a guild official can thwart the thief’s plans to steal everything from the guild overnight with this policy. Thanks for explaining!

Target Nearest Enemy

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

Not only is Target Nearest just picking up enemies that are in your Line of Sight, but the enemy also has to be in your Field of View now. So, if the enemy is behind you (not on your screen, per se) but on level ground, Target Nearest doesn’t pick him up now. (WOW…totally kitten useless!) Bug or not… this is a HUGE step backwards imo. x(

Actually, it was the previous (or even initial) behavior: targeting was used to pick up only enemies in your field of view and not behind you. It was changed a while back and a few players complained (even myself, I don’t see a point of having a “superpower” that allows you to know about an enemy sneaking up behind you :P), and the main issue with it was that targeting would prioritize enemies out of your view or out of reach over those right on your throat.

More about it here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Targeting-Still-Broken-Please-Fix-It/

Shadow, thanks for the info! And, yeah, I know it’s flipped-flopped a few times.

You know, I think it was nice to be able to have a sonar type of targeting skill. And, yes, yes… perhaps it was a bit over the top. I get that. But I would like for Anet to put such changes, if intended, into the kitten release notes! This way there is no speculation as to whether a skill has changed by design or if it’s a bug… or if it’s a combination of both (bug and design) that has a skill in its current state, i.e. – the whole stealth/reveal thing seems to be a little of both.

In short, if a skill has changed by design, put it into the notes. If it’s a bug, it would be beneficial to all if Anet would come to the thread that’s talking about the bug and at least comment on it, like with the stealth/reveal issue.

Anet,

This is not a “my outfit is not hanging on my large Norn behind correctly” issue… This is TARGETING! It would be nice to have some official words on this change. (I don’t want to start adapting to the current way Target Nearest is working only to have it undone in a week because it was a bug.)

Some communication on this, Anet, please?

(Things were just getting stable again from the March 16th patch debacle, and I was again enjoy GW2. But now we’re going through the same magnitude of breakage here with this May 19th patch. )

Hide in Plain Sight Flushed down the Mystic??

Krypto.2069

Thanks very much guys for providing input!

Yeah, I’m gonna miss my ol’ buddy HiPS in WvW. He allowed me to be a little more crazy from time to time… hehe. It would amaze me how many times I’d go “poof” in a given night and the toon that cc’d me (and other surrounding enemy) wouldn’t realize HiPS had me concealed right where I was last seen, especially before the update from camo to straight up stealth when moving broke the camo. But it’s not like it’s something I can’t live without. (HiPS was/is somewhat glitchy imo.)

I would have liked to have seen HiPS rolled into something else too. But I guess Anet couldn’t have us being too OP…haha! Overall I like the Ranger changes, and if HiPS has to die to allow us to move forward… then so be it. (I’ve already switched to SA, and it worked well enough during last night’s WvW reset.)

HiPS, I’ll have an extra brew for you the night they flip the switch on ya!

Lost My Guild

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

Leaving a guild should require typing in the 3-4 letter guild [tag] because it is way too easy to accidentally leave a guild or leave the wrong guild… especially when lag issues hit.

Ikr! But don’t try to throw away a kitten “Box ’O Fun” and not type the name of it exactly (case and all) into the CONFIRMATION box that does pop up for junk/toy items like this or you can’t drop that thing.

Anet… I would like to see a confirmation box implemented like Random Wax Orc said and a 24 hour waiting period if you’re the last person to leave a guild before the guild is just gone for good, please!

OP, I’m very sorry for your situation.

Rather than code for when it was appropriate to have the falling scream in the new release, it was easier to just remove it period, so we did. (Same as we did for the human animations.)

There you go; that’s a pretty decent translation.

Aetherpath (TA dungeon) bad bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

I am unsure if this post is a troll or not but I’ll assume it is serious just in case.

That is a DUNGEON skin. They were ALWAYS available in dungeons and then way way way later anet came out with PvP reward tracks.

This isn’t anything even remotely close to a bug.

The GW2 Wiki says there are two ways to get that skin – vendor purchase and sPVP track. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nightmare_Harpoon

How I interpret the OP’s post is that he got it as a “rare” drop from the Clockheart Boss Chest in Aetherpath, instead of getting an Aetherized Nightmare weapon, which would make it a bug.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aetherized_Nightmare_weapons

(I’m not sure what you mean by “always available in dungeons.”) In any case… I don’t think he’s trolling, and I do think it’s a bug if what he says is true.

OP, I’d imagine Support should be able to check the time logs and see exactly how and when that Nightmare Harpoon got into your inventory. If it showed up just after you opened the chest, then it definitely sounds like something’s wrong. I’d suggest opening a support ticket if you haven’t already. GL

Ranger pet signet bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

I remember the signets as being permanent on pets before, like on the Ranger, not having a constant cooldown renewal like now.

You would think it would be permanent as it would be one less thing per pet/per ranger that the hamster driven servers would have to keep track of… but no.

And I just tested it and the incoming pet is butt-kitten naked regarding the signets. And he’s also kitten-out of luck regarding Opening Strike too. So if your 2nd pet comes into play after the “server apply pets passives interval”, he’ll just be naked until the next interval kicks. And when you’re in combat (particularly WvW) and your main pet dies, and then you call his backup… don’t be too surprise if he insta-dies, because he’s got no signet passives or Opening Strike for several seconds. WOW!

From the jacked up AI to the inconsistent F2 behavior to the lack of ability to hot key certain pet functions (Stow/Activate Pet, Avoid Combat/Guard) to incorrect/un-updated tool tips… Pets are a HIDEOUS ABOMINATION in gw2 imo. It’s a decent enough concept, but not well designed and even worse regarding the implementation and maintenance. Can we get a re-design?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this new bug shows up on the very patch that fixed the passive states. (QA anybody?) And based on the fact that it took a month to “fix” the passive state not being functional, I’d gauge this most recent pet related “issue” to be fixed sometime between hell freezing over and never. Heaven help us when HoT goes live. :/

EDIT: Speaking of Stow/Activate pet… the same delay issue with the pet not getting signets and Opening Strike occurs as well if you have your pet stowed and then activate him.

The “R” in Ranger apparently stands for Rodney Dangerfield

Krypto.2069

Anet, thanks for finally fixing this CLASS MECHANIC breakage from a month ago.

And I appreciate it. But you know… something like this that really impacts a core mechanism like a ranger’s pets not being able to be set to avoid combat should not take a month to fix. In all areas of the game – WvW, dungeons, fractals, (open world pve), sPvP, etc.. rangers were playing handicapped for far too long. And although the communication from Anet to the ranger community was there, it was slow and not as continuous as one would have liked to have had it.

Hopefully, in the future, when breakage of this magnitude happens, we’ll get faster and more continuous communication and a quicker fix than a month.

But, again, thanks!

Nearest Target - toggle off pets, walls, etc

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

What I’ve found is that nearest target is… the nearest point A to B “yellow and up” target based on a 360 degree radius… period. So it doesn’t matter if that nearest target is not in a line of sight or if it’s an inanimate object or alive.

Once I accepted how nearest target works, I began to adapt to this… hehe… “feature.” But, I agree, it would be nice to have additional targeting options. The more the better, imo.

Confirmed.

Yup, I just jumped off the ledge on the south side of our BL’s garrison into the water and my toon didn’t make a peeping sound. That drop always gets a scream out of everyone that jumps. And I always loved it when a large group of us did it at once as we rushed to aid Hills! Was sorta like a battle cry!

Anet, I know this may be considered small compared to the severity of other bugs, but please look into fixing these sound bugs; they break immersion. (There seems to be other similar in-game sound issues all over this forum.) Thanks!

Gemstore Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Krypto.2069

Krypto.2069

Kelly, the most logical reason is… It’s far easier to make 1 outfit and release that to everyone than make 3 sets of armor. Keep in mind the lite/med/heavy framework is very different, so it would take more time/resources to make each set, that is assuming A-net wouldn’t release just a heavy armor skin… For example, the upcoming countess Anisse(sp) outfit; if it was lite armor only, how many heavy/med users would be unhappy?

Me!!! I hear you, Miku. I would be a little sad if the new countess Anise outfit was a light armor skin only. I’m looking forward to getting that one for my ranger main.

Another cool thing about outfits is that you can wear them on newly created toons instead of the 1/2 dozen different assortments of bland rags that are in-game as armors for pre-lvl 80s, especially if you’re a medium armor class! (And no transmuting needed!) And have you seen the plethora of ugly kitten (even for lvl 80’s) to select from for rangers, thieves and engineers? So many hideous coats that I wouldn’t want to be found dead and revived in…. just bury me! hahaha!

Ideally, imo, it would be nice if Anet released some things in both – as an outfit for the masses and then as armor for a single armor class. So things like the new Balthazar outfit would also have been released as a heavy armor, the countess Anise outfit as also a light armor, etc.

Anet, you listening? (Is this thing on?)
