There are several issues of note from the data posted.
1. You are using Mac OS 10.6, which is an unsupported OS. But some say it runs okay.
2. Are you using different drivers than the Mac stock?
Have you tried repairing or reinstalling? Seems you might have a bad install.
It could possibly be a memory type error.
please post back with some data:
-what Mac system plus complete specs
-are you using drivers for your graphics card that you downloaded from the website?
-what were you doing when this error occurred?
Hey Serve, sorry for the delay, have been travelling today. Thanks for the specs!
I’d like if you can try these steps, I think it might resolve your issue.
Please post back and let me know how you go!
I also found it occurs when changing resolution.
An interesting thing about the gamma bug, if you zone into a new map, it usually fixes itself.
(Dumb typo lol)

You can visit us on the Mac forum now, we have a dedicated tech guy helping us now!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/mac
You’re hardly likely to get much here other than me lol.
Bu I’ll try to help you anyway!
Please post the specs of your Mac and which OS you have.
Do you recall what code you got? Can you check your console (/application support/utilities/console) and find out any errors that popped there associated with the time of your crash?
Please post back when you can.
I still recommend deleting the local.dat, it could still have issues after a fresh install.
Also verify your settings in catalyst, I think anti-aliasing should application controlled. Maybe play with other settings in there and see if it has any effect if local.dat doesn’t work.
Test this and see if it helps you, it’s great for a huge variety of trading post bugs.
1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post
On a Mac this could initiate an easily fixable gamma bug.
Post back and let me know how you go.
The truth is… You’re secretly in the matrix and that is one of those “things” that shows you the truth of it… Kind of like déjà vu. ;p
But really, it’s a secret passage to another world. Run through!
Okay, I’m sorry, I can’t resist bad jokes when they pop in my mind.
Are your drivers 100% up to date?
Also, have you tried deleting the local.dat file (my documents/guild wars 2)? This will clear your settings and password stuff, but it might help.
Post back and let me know how you go.
It’s a 32bit client that is currently experiencing a syndrome I call “memory hog”… Problem is 32bit windows can only recognise up to 3.25~3.5gb of ram and that is limited even more by how much windows lets programs use since it needs a healthy chunk of that memory for itself. Depending on your OS, there is some relief for some people. I’ll find the link and post it for you here with an edit to this post.
Here it is:
(quoted from another user)
"
Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:
http://www.vfxpedia.com/index.php?title=FAQ/3GB_Switch
Edit: Ignore the stuff about “DFX+/Fusion cache limit” it has nothing to do with GW2.

I’m currently not experiencing these lag issues (I know… One person, big deal, right), but there are many others not either. My hubs is currently playing on a public/university wide type connection and he and I played together just fine several times over the last week, neither had lag or trouble at all.
Crown Pavilion is a bit of a pain due to all the effects and such rendering in one zone… And within this 1 small zone, you’ve got large Zerg numbers plus gauntlet battles occurring overhead and all of their effects.
So, it could go either way, but for some, there are graphics issues related to hardware, some have Internet/connection problems and lag, and others still have operating system problems causing even more problems.
Depending on your issue, pop around the tech support forums first few pages and have a peek.
Then just create a new one and put it in a “different” location than your current play shortcut. The name isn’t really that important, but the target and function are. Just try to remember which is which. Hopefully that helps.
You got it! Enjoy!
As a quick suggestion, if all of your audio is coming through the tv, open your in-game options panel, go to sound options, the check what options are available. Have a tinker with those and see.
I think different cables use different options, so if everything else is working, that’s all I’ve got off the top of my head.
BTW, when you want direct one on one attention, submit a ticket.
Even Ashley would probably recommend that for you lol.
I was just about to suggest you submit a ticket, then I read this:
Regarding error code 21:
“The server was unable to authenticate your gameplay privileges. Please contact Customer Support to provide them with your registered e-mail address. For additional support, please visit http://support.guildwars2.com.”
If you are experiencing problems with error 21, please try the following:
Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
Right-click on GW2.exe and select Create Shortcut.
Rename this shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Port Test.
Right-click on this shortcut and select Properties.
Edit the Target line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
Once completed, click Ok to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
Double click Guild Wars 2 Port Test and try connecting again.
Once done, please submit a ticket through the Ask a Question tab with your results.
Perhaps there really is an issue with your ISP. They may be blocking ports and causing you problems or something may be affecting connectivity in your area. (Some ISPs block ports from their end)
Without knowing anything about your system, you may want to verify your settings under your graphic card controller program. And double check your drivers are up to date.
The local.dat fix “should” have helped with your issue considering the nature of it. Sometimes gw2 tries to apply one set of settings to a different display and… Crash, local.dat stores those settings.
Could you check to see if there are any recent crashes to your crash log, called arenanet.log, this is under the same folder as your local.dat (my documents/guild wars 2). If there are recent crashes listed, please export that file as a .txt and attach it using more posting & formatting options below.
What graphics settings are you using? The newest update (not bug fixing patches) reset everyone’s graphics settings, have a tinker with yours and see how you go.
Or you guys could poke around the first 2 or 3 pages of this forum and see what others are experiencing and see if any of their fixes work for you or if your instances are similar.
So, we could suggest things, but we really should know the contents of that crash sent to arenanet so we aren’t shooting in the dark. So, here is what you need to do next:
1. Post complete system specs including OS version
2. Post crash log (arenanet.log)
3. Post all troubleshooting steps you HAVE tried (I see repair and drivers, did you delete the local.dat file, checked CPU/GPU temps, or anything else?)
To post your crash log, go to my documents/guild wars 2, export your arenanet.log as a .txt file, then attach using more posting & formatting options below.
Heads up, there are other threads with similar problems, but without knowing what your crash is, you may not find what will work for your crash.

Ashley, you need to post system specs including OS version and a crash log might help. To find your crash log, go to my documents/guild wars 2, find the file arenanet.log, export the body of this file as a .txt then attach it using more posting & formatting options below.
Especially if none of the above helped.
Curious, is that system up to min requirements?
I think this system is using an integrated intel hd graphics chip. If that’s the case, this may not run very well, if at all.
Well, we need a lot more info… Complete system specs including OS version, what do your graphics look like now, what settings are you currently using, etc.
The more you can give, the better.
Dark, can you post your complete system specs plus your crash log?
To find crash log, go to my documents/guild wars 2, it is named arenanet.log. Export this as a .txt and attach using more posting & formatting options.
So, I’m sure you’ve already been told to try a repair, right? I probably told you that too lol.
Have you considered filing a ticket? It seems there aren’t many offering additional help on your specific issue. I’d hate to see you keep suffering unnecessarily.
The only other thing I would consider is running msconfig, disable all startup programs, restart comp, test gw2. If you avoid crashing, start looking into what program could be conflicting…
If you crash again with the same error, cram all of the info of things you’ve tried thus far, plus a game advisor report and your latest crash log of the day into that ticket, and complete specs of course and see how it goes.
I was still trying to find the Network card setting that I was thinking about, but I am having trouble locating it now.
After you try the msconfig, post back if it made any progress or not, then file a ticket, but please come back and let me know if they helped you and what your fix was… There are many who get this issue also.
Disable any antivirus/firewall software running. (I know you disabled, but it’s always worth repeating lol)
Or, even more thorough, run msconfig, disable all startup programs, restart comp, run installer as administrator. This should eliminate ANY conflicting programs that might be causing issues. Re-run msconfig to re-enable your programs, restart.
FYI, if this is a fresh install, make sure to add exceptions for gw2 in any antivirus/firewall softwares, including Microsoft security bits (suddenly blanked on name, if it comes to me, I’ll edit lol).
Okay guys, you need to post your complete system specs including OS version. Then find your arenanet.log (usually under my documents/guild wars 2), export this as a .txt and post it here using more posting & formatting options below.
Also, as an FYI, there are a lot of threads currently discussing crashing, definitely have a peruse through those as well.
Try 1024×640.
Not sure why it would do that, but I can say on my 1440×900, the 1024×768 resolution goes into 4:3 also.
Have you tried a repair of the client?
How odd is that to crash on something so specific!
Try this, it’s a quick, easy fix that usually can resolve this issue.
1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post
I’m not exactly sure what the issue is, but could you post back with what Mac this is, your system specs including OS, and if you have any antivirus or firewall software active?
Several questions.
1. What type of Mac is this? What are your specs?
2. How much free space is on the drive?
3. Do you have an antivirus or firewall enabled?
4. Are you on an administrator account login (Mac login profile)?
I cannot confirm nor deny anything about this, but I’d be concerned that your hard drive is on the verge of failure. I could be completely wrong, I’ve never had an error like this on any of my macs and google is useless tonight lol.
Please wait for Luis to see this and respond before taking action.
I’m most likely wrong about this and it is probably related to a bad download/installer or some system setting, but please post back when you can to give Luis as much info as possible.
It almost looks like she has a modified mans face lol.
You should be able to talk to the fight master or something like that and choose it to reset your fight.
Lol, I wish I could get into someone else’s Liadri fight… Maybe then I’d actually beat that crazy, buggy kitty!
Not sure if this is your issue since you lost over a gold, but remember that the tp takes a cut when you post (listing fee), then when you pickup, you get the total minus tp taxes.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trading_post
Also, make sure you are actually entering that amount and not actually selling it instantly for the buying offers which are usually insanely lw compared to current listing. (Hopefully that makes sense) I did this once myself by accident, somehow, the wrong option was ticked.
Lol, my bad! Here I got so used to hearing about out of memory on 32bit systems over the last few days, I boneheadedly made a kitty’s bum of myself and assumed!!!
If either of you get any crashing, could you post your arenanet.log (under my documents/guild wars 2) exported as a .txt file? You can attach using more posting & formatting options below.
But let me post actual troubleshooting steps.
~if this is a new issues, restart comp first~
1. Make sure your vid card drivers are up to date.
2. Delete the local.dat file (under my documents/guild wars 2) then load gw2
Let me know how you go with that first.
Again, sorry lol.
This seems to be a problem with 32bit windows. Typically it becomes associated with crash errors “out of memory” or “c0000005”. Another user posted this to help and it has fixed a variety of errors for other players with this errors and odd graphical glitches:
“Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:

Edit: Ignore the stuff about “DFX+/Fusion cache limit” it has nothing to do with GW2."
Hope this helps.
I experienced this on several chests and when it happens, you don’t typically get credit. However, by the time I had all of them I still had 2 zones or so left (excluding Orr). I thought I’d test a theory and went to one more zone after completing the achieve and neither of the 2 chests gave loot or were able to be interacted with, I did “hear” them opening while running up, before I even got to the last flight of steps.
FYI, To submit an in-game bug report, type /bug and then hit enter, choose report a bug. You will most likely NOT receive a response.
Have you tried deleting the local.dat (under my documents/guild wars 2)?
Glad you were able to install, but this means that something is conflicting and causing this problem. Definitely try to pinpoint what so you can avoid this or similar problems in the future.
Have you tried taking the assembly apart and looking at the fans? Could be bearings maybe.
Also, out of curiosity, are you overclocked at all? If so, does this still occur when not overclocked?
Are the connections to the card intact and tight?
How old is this video card? It sounds like it may actually be faulty if you cannot see anything or alleviate this by normal troubleshooting methods.
However, Abomally’s suggestion sounds quite viable. Btw, out of curiosity, if your father has a 450watt psu, what do you have?
Lastly, is it possible to get a vid looking directly at this card while running with light on it?
Several options to try (just going to list them):
1. Restart comp! I know simple and kind of dumb, but it has fixed issues for some… Or at least temporarily.
2. Update video card drivers.
3. Delete local.dat file (under my documents/guild wars 2), load gw2.
4. If problems still persist after these 3, try this (as posted by another user):
“Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:
http://www.vfxpedia.com/index.php?title=FAQ/3GB_Switch
Edit: Ignore the stuff about “DFX+/Fusion cache limit” it has nothing to do with GW2."
As a note, you have a 32bit windows, which cannot recognise more that 3.25~3.5gb of ram and how much you can use for gw2 is limited. These types plus a lot of “out of memory” and c0000005 errors are coming from 32bit windows due to these limitations and gw2 excessive use of ram. Solution #4 may actually prevent you from having those, at least until the day you are able to upgrade to a 64bit OS (which comes with its own baggage lol).
Post back if any of that worked or not.
Okay, try this (quoted from another user):
"
Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:

"
This has helped some, please try it and let me know, I’m going to review your log files and such, I’ll edit this post if anything else jumps out at me. Btw, 3.25~3.5gb is all 32bit windows can really recognise, so the rest is wasted unless you have a 64 bit OS.
Added: 1. It looks like you’re still using vid card driver version 320.18, you should consider upgrading to 320.49 since the previous version was found to be buggy.
(edited by Kyllaa.1385)
Something so simple, right?!
Keep us updated.
Well, glad to hear you we’re able to get something working, it’s unfortunate you lost your data, but at the very least, passwords are easily enough recoverable.
Now that you’ve bypassed the out of memory problems, if you have any further issues, start a new thread for it, but let’s hope you’re in the clear now! At least for awhile lol. ;p
Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall. Or even better to rule out conflicting programs is run msconfig, then disable all startup programs, restart comp, run the installer.
Post back if that helped or not.
Hopefully, there will be some news on this soon or an update to our build (crossing fingers that’s what the delay on the fix is lol), however, I’m hoping they don’t break our hawks or some other creature again ;p
I kid, but considering they’ve fixed 2 “crash bugs” it’s only a matter of time before they figure out what’s happening here.
It’s just challenging because it’s mostly affecting only one type of system (my MBP is not having this problem), so it could be giving them trouble isolating the issue.
This is a quick in game fix that works for many issues (including gems not loading, buy/sell greyed out, mouse over descriptions/preview not working, infinite gold spinny/not loading)… It doesn’t always work, but it’s worth a test since you don’t have to leave the game for it:
1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post
On macs, this can cause an easily fixed gamma bug, but pc is cool.
Lavanet, thank you for confirming the guesting bit, no one ever posts back after we recommend that on here, so I ever knew if it worked or not… Lol!
What OS are you running, please give us some background to work with.
But off the bat, have you made sure to run as admin? And/or tried compatibility modes?
I’m sure someone else will have thoughts, that’s a new one for me.
Odd! It almost sounds like something moves into the path of a fan as you do it lol.
Getting tired, so will check in later, sorry, that wasn’t my most helpful late night assessment.
