Hint Completion achievement broken [Merged]

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Kyllaa.1385

Kyllaa.1385

I got this to work for me today! I was having the issue of it not showing the same # of complete vs the actual number completed. However, by the time I got my last one it filled them all in and it was complete. It seemed on mine, that it was only triggering the count every other one. Maybe try re-triggering a couple. (make a new character, take them into WvW & pvp, and maybe try filling another mailbox)… Who knows, it might help!

Lastly, for the mailbox full hint, I had to make sure that I had no emails in there from anything but other players; I had to delete all game related mails (hearts, explore, dungeons, living story etc) and all items from gem store had to be taken out also (even the free stuff). Also, make sure to actually click on the hint if it shows up onscreen.

Hope this helps somebody.

Error 7:11:3:189:101

Kyllaa.1385

I also get this error a lot. It doesn’t happen as often lately, but when it does it’s completely random. 80% of the time I receive this error, it is usually because I unplugged my power cable from my MBP and/or because I plugged it back in. (yep, unplug=disconnect, I reconnect while unplugged, it’s okay, then plug back in when I can=disconnect again) so it’s not consistent as to why this happens. Other times, it will be for no reason at all. I stand idle for about 1 min to reply to a text or look something up online, then I go to move and bam, disconnected.

I cannot confirm that this is my modem/router as my computer is the only one losing connectivity and I don’t have any problems with my airport, so not too sure either.

Kyllaa.1385

Sorry for delay in response. My hubs says that the only way is to make the screen you want to play on is to make it the main screen (as you mentioned). However, he said that you can drag the menu bar from screen to screen (like the application windows) to make that the main screen without opening the system prefs. Also, if you don’t keep the 2nd monitor connected at all times, you can set it as the main screen and if disconnected, it will default the other screen as the main automatically and when the 2nd screen is re-connected, it will go back to main again.

Sorry if this doesnt help your problem, it seems it’s just the way macs are designed.

You might want to try this first:

https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9245/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2NTI5MzE0MS9zaWQveG5vbVYzbmw%3D

At least then, you’ll know if it’s a connection to server issue.

Lag happens for all sorts of reasons. If you try the trace route and it works okay, it could be a system issue. Perhaps you should post your computer details as well. But definitely try the trace route first to try and narrow what the issue could be.

Well that’s bizarre, my husband uses that setup with his MBPr and his just stays there. His only problem is when he forgets to fix the resolution before closing the game on monitor and re-opening it later on his laptop screen. Have you considered playing it in windowed mode on that screen?

I’ll ask him later if he’s had this issue before. Sorry that didn’t work for you.

I haven’t seen anyone else with this error myself yet, but I had it a few times in WvW typically when involved with a giant Zerg on Zerg clash against the green team. And I only got this one after the anti-culling update. I’ve only ever had one dstbits crash as well, but again it was after the mar 26th update and in WvW against green. Haven’t had these anywhere else.

Kyllaa.1385

Hard to understand your question exactly, but I’ll give you an answer to what I think you mean.

If you use multiple displays, as long as your computer is set up to use them always, you can put the game into windowed mode (through options/graphics settings), then drag it over to the monitor you want. You may need to adjust the resolution when doing so (going to 2nd monitor and/or coming back to main screen) as you may end up with cutting off issues, but then putting it back out of windowed mode afterwards sets it back to normal full screen.

Tip: leave the graphics settings window open in game while swapping monitors to make changing the resolution (if needed) easier. Sometimes, if you forget while moving the box, you can lose the gear or game menu or clipping can occur. Pressing esc can still bring up the main menu if the top left corner is clipped off.

This is an annoying problem, but happens frequently still. Lol, it could get you into trouble if you don’t pick up on it quick enough (spinning in circles in stead of standing, running off edges or into a group of baddies unprepared). But to confirm Nageth’s suggestion above, yes, pressing the key that is stuck always fixes it for me.

But again, always resolves itself after a few client restarts.

Thanks for posting that Starry, I couldn’t remember where I saw it and wasn’t on my comp at the time of posting to confirm the location. As you said, it’s not the whole multi-gig file, but just a few mb worth of data, hardly an inconvenience. And no, it doesn’t fix every issue, but it can help with some of them. I couldn’t purchase gems on my system, I’d get all the way to the last step then get a parse error. I tried all the browser fixes and none worked, but the delete of the mentioned folder. So, it’s not for everything, but why not try it if there is a possibility it could alleviate some grief. As for the loading issues, yes, they sometimes just sort themselves out.

Kyllaa.1385

I’ve got the weird birds issue, they look like they twinkle light beams across the screen. I can confirm that this is a Mac issue. My hubs and I were playing in the same room and his pc had no issues at all with it.

Since the patch, I have been getting a whole new variety of crashes:

1. Lots of “model has an unexpected reference count. A serious error has occurred… Report sent.” while running in WvW, particularly when our zerg is about to encounter another Zerg… And oddly enough, I’m noticing it more when we encounter kainang. (not so much against fort aspenwood). I’ve had this happen about 8 times in the last hour.

2. “arena=default, cat=gr, allocbytes=522880, arenabytes=299699648’ fallbackbytes=120377574, align=16
A serious error… Report sent.” has occurred just a couple times. This occurred while our group jumped into water from Overlook on eb.

Both of these problems occurred at EB. #1 more so than 2. Each time after crashing, it takes an insanely long time to reload the game into a zone… About 3 mins of sitting on the loading screen. And of course, I’ve experienced more lag due to the loading of more info. But I figured that would happen considering the changes made. So e crashing is more the issue for me. I have frame limiter on to 30.

These are the huge bugs I’ve had. Has anyone else seen either of these?

Lol yeah, I deserve the scolding, I need my own dedicated hard drive for backup, but my hubs work takes priority over my recreation. But yes, that is a near future plan! I tried to backup the other day on a spare, but it was formatted for windows… Fail! <.<

So, you bring up some good points. My battery is good, ran all hardware tests, a-ok. Also, I calibrate it per apple instructions every few months for good measure. It lasts for several hours on full brightness over wireless doing everything but games. WoW could hold up for over an hour, this is more intense lol… But way better. I had thought about the low-power state disabling the wireless, but tested that while game running transferring data, opened a browser and kept loading pages and uplugged unit. The game d/c’d, but never had an issue with websites loading, even videos that had never been cached. Also ran speed test while testing this theory in the past. No drops! And also, as mentioned, the battery disconnect issue seems to happen much less recently. Only about 40% of the times now when the cable is unplugged do I disconnect. (roughly since after the last frost & flame update, although, not sure if it is actually related)

I’m actually getting more error codes and random crashes now. Codes C0000005, C00000094 for crashes with error reports sent to anet automatically. And since my last post, a ton of odd d/c’s that put me back to character select screen. My last error like that was code 7:11:3:189:101. That one happens a lot. A few times I get the firewall error code blah. And today, I had a nasty crash with a “serious error” again, but a brand new code or file listed: lockedRect.pBits. Never had that before!

As for the encryption, that might be possible, never thought of that because I’ve never had an issue with it. But yes, my hubs has a newer MBP with retina display. But I guess all setups are not equal, my friend had an mbp of same model as mine with 4mb ram before and never had any disconnects… Ever! So it may corroborate your suggestion as it was over a dsl connection, rather than cable Internet.

Oh it is all so crazy! I figured to list all symptoms recent and not as current in case they were connected in any way. If only we knew what exactly those error codes meant lol. New google project. Thanks again for fresh thoughts!

Thanks for the responses! (and the bonus points) ;p

I do try to watch my system temp, but considering the inconsistencies with the crashes from a fresh start to the game (barely warmed up), to running a marathon play session, it’s pretty much the same; meaning, I crash just after starting or sometimes after an hour, rarely, I can make it several hours before the first crash.

As for network, I have considered trying on an Ethernet cable, but my modem & router are in a difficult place to sit for any extended amount of time to fully test this… Someday soon, I do hope to be able to do this, but considering the fact that my husband who plays on both a pc and a MacBook pro with retina display on the same wireless network without issue…. Unless it is in fact the wireless unit in my comp, then I’m screwed lol.

And lastly, I have considered upgrading, but I’ve been warned that I may lose several of my applications due to possible incompatibility. (cannot replace) Or just bad upgrading problems (as noted on Mac forums)… I can’t afford to lose my programs or my data… Yeah yeah back up, but sadly, my husband took the only hard drive for that to work. Rock and a hard place for these first world problems of mine lol

Has anyone else upgraded and had 80% or better of their issues resolved? If I could find any proof that it could fix it, I’d buy the upgrade immediately.

Thanks again

Performance Issue

Kyllaa.1385

Jess, you may be running out of usable memory. When I ran my comp (same model as yours) with 4gb I would notice in my activit monitor (under /applications/utilities) that my “free” memory would be down to 10mb while my "inactive"memory would be over 2gb. Inactive memory is supposed to be relinquished for programs that need it, but 10.7 seems to have issues doing that. Therefore, you end up with super sluggish play and huge lag and fps spikes. To fix this, you need to open Terminal (same directory listed for activity monitor), and type PURGE then hit enter. Wait until it says process complete, then kill terminal. That should fix you up for a short while, then rinse repeat. With only 4gb, you might have to close all other apps to prevent this from happening quicker. I always purge prior to loading my game at all, and I check it every couple hours of gameplay.

Lastly, I upgraded to 8gb and I have this issue tons less, I only have to purge (mandatory) after an extended gaming session and forgetting to purge at random intervals now. Rarely cap my memory even when gw2 causes me to have 3gb of inactive memory.

Sadly, gw2 really bad at creating inactive memory and os x is really bad at giving it back. I’m not sure if this is still an issue in 10.8, but I would love to know before taking the dive and upgrading myself. Good luck to you.

The problem with the camera spinning out of control over your character’s head when using a mouse is a known issue in the Mac client, see the sticky.

I’m currently getting mouse targeting problems for the last month where my left mouse click won’t target anything, but I can deselect by clicking the ground with it.

Anything else, I’m not sure, check your mouse batteries, low batteries are worse than dead batteries because they cause completely intermittent and random, unexplainable problems. If it’s a cabled mouse, sorry, can’t help there.

Kyllaa.1385

I use the solution posted by Mnemesis and that usually fixes my sluggish issues. I actually have a macro for it, so it’s a one button fix (yep, it’s that bad). Also, watch that her system isn’t getting too hot, that can cause sluggish behavior as well.

As for deleting the contents of the gw2 folder, that may not work for this issue in particular, but there are settings in the config file that can contribute to some graphics issues, sometimes it does help for that. But don’t play with the config file unless you know what you’re doing.

Lastly, the gw2 folder CAN fix issues with the trading post. I wasn’t able to purchase gems after the september update (would get all the way to the end of purchase, then get a parsing error). Deleting the contents and letting the client reload them fixed it completely, I even have less unresponsive, non-loading t kitten ues (a client restart fixes that most times now). Haven’t had a gem purchase problem since.

Power (Watts) Leak

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Kyllaa.1385

Kyllaa.1385

You guys pretty much hit the nail on the head! I had this issue during the 1st beta weekend running on bootcamp. Windows apparently sucks for this! But yeah, the MacBook pro power supply doesn’t give enough juice to supply a load on the system like that. So using anything that is graphics intense or creates a high demand on the system causes the battery to have to compensate for the energy required. If you never lighten the power requirements, the system will eventually tax the battery and shutdown.

Also, I’ve found that once the system gets too hot for comfort, prior to an overheat situation, it will stop xharging the battery. You will see the MagSafe indicator go green (indicating a full charge), but if you check the battery level it could say 60% charge (not charging).

So yeah, apparently this is “as intended” and will not be fixed. Turning graphics settings down helps. Also, under energy saver, there is a setting about automatic graphics switching. Enabling that for both battery and power adapted could help. I find mine runs more hot with it disabled, but it looks a little prettier. So it’s a trade-off of sacrifice appearance for performance as usual.

Good luck.

3. Also completely random log in server disconnects. The error always references some firewall or setting, but I can assure you that once these errors occurred, I triple checked all setting and have even gone so far as to disable ALL firewalls, including on my router. And same issue! I am the only one again! My hubs who plays on the same network as me, never has any connection issues. And this has gotten worse also! And this just boots me back to the character select screen, it rarely crashes the client itself, and I can usually just log back on without restarting the client. Lol the known camera bug used to be an issue every time forcing me to restart the client, but now only rarely when this happens.

4. Mouse targetting fails! My last issue that has gotten really bad in the last month or so. I can be playing just fine, then suddenly, my mouse targeting just quits. I can only target baddies using tab (or any keyboard set key) or by auto-attacking (which sometimes grabs the wrong guy). Npcs can’t be targeted either, I just have to run up and hit F and hope it gets the right guy. WvW is impossible like this! None of the in-game settings fixes this at all, only a full-client restart. The bug persists despite logging onto different characters. It happens randomly, sometimes after way pointing, sometimes transferring zones, sometimes switching characters, sometimes it was working one second and then not the next.

Troubleshooting steps I have tried without success:
Deleting the contents of the gw2 folder
Resetting any memory setting on the Mac via Mac forums possible VRAM, etc.
Disabling ALL power saving features
Disabling ALL security features Including on my modem & router (works the same enabled or disabled)
ZERO anti-virus software to obstruct the connection or ports
Memory purges
basics (restart comp, restart client, Internet speed tests, check connections on modem, router, comp)
Called my Internet service provider to ask if there were any issues and I’ve even had service guys here 3times since launch!

I have tried almost everything! Well, short of upgrading my system OS and reinstalling the game (I’m on a limited monthly bandwidth connection and no, I have not gone over, nor have I been throttled).

So, any thoughts? From anyone?

Thanks again for taking the time to read this novella and thank you for any thoughts or suggestions offered. This has been going on for some time now and I may have missed listing some things i’ve tried or a symptom of what is happening, but you get the win idea here. Thanks all!

Hi. So I’ve scoured the forums and googled a ton for one of the issues I have, but have not found anything remotely like it anywhere. Also, I have recently (last couple months) had a significant increase in crashes of my client, sometimes with errors generated and sometimes, nothing at all. So I’m going to post a numbered list of issues I’ve had with some description of each in hopes that someone can shed some light on or help me in any way to understand what is going on and possibly fix it. This may get a little long, but thanks in advance for reading and any suggestions.

My comp:
MacBook pro 15" late 2011
2.2 ghz intel core i7
8gb ram
AMD radeon hd 6750m 512mb
Os X 10.7.5 (all updates are up-to-date)

1. Since Mac beta client launch or shortly thereafter, I have had this crazy issue of whenever my MagSafe power cable is knocked out, I get booted from the character I’m logged in at and sent back to the character select screen with a generic error of “the client has lost connection with the log in server, please wait and try again.” This is just the gist. This happens about 95% of the time I disconnect my power cable on purpose or by accident. It happens slightly less in the last month, but that has been replaced by other problems. It’s not as consistent anymore for some reason, which definitely leads me to believe it’s something client related. That combined with the fact that I CANNOT create the same issue on my hubs MacBook pro with retina display nor my friends computer (same as my hubs). And also, my computer does not lose Internet connectivity anywhere else (websites still load, client downloads continue, as do downloads for other games and random content). Lastly, if the disconnect does not occur upon power cable disconnect, it will about 80% of the time occur when I reconnect my power cable. Of course, this seems to have improved slightly in the last month, but it still happens often enough to be REALLY annoying and inconvenient.[it is not my router, not one other device on my network is affected by this]

2. Completely random client crashes. So, since launch, I have had issues with this (even during beta weekends, but they waned and flowed as to how often). I had minor crashing issues on the pc client, but it only got worse on the Mac beta client. I understand it’s BETA, so errors and crashes are to be expected, but it sometimes gets to the point of unplayable randomly. I have other friends who play on the Mac client and for every 1 crash they have (which is practically never), I’ve had about 100. This is no exaggeration, they almost never crash, but I crash at least once daily, most days! I used to just have random back to desktop crashes and I’d get an option to send Mac an error report, sometimes not. But more recently (last month or 2), I get serious errors, as noted by the error box. I have seen a few of these come across on the forums, but nothing that helps me. The most recent of these includes the C0000005 error completely random; running around the world, mid-fight or jp in WvW, or just sitting in LA, sometimes I’m shuffling inventory, sometimes chatting, sometimes when I’m doing absolutely nothing at all like when I take a 2 min afk to get a drink or check a text message, I see this happen all the time now. In the last 3 days, I’ve had these crashes about 8 times at least. I’ve stopped counting, it becomes habit to force quit application and restart. None of my mac friends have this problem! Typically, after these type of crashes, I have a very difficult time getting back into the game: extended load times on logging in, loading the character select screen (it takes about 2 mins for the graphics and text to load), and forget getting logged onto a character, that takes up to 5 mins or I sometimes have to force quit the client and try again.

Using 2posts, apparently, I’m too loquacious!

I’m sure this has been mentioned (I think I saw one other person mention it on this thread at least), but login influence points don’t seem to be getting added properly. I understand if your char is an overflow, you may not get those points, but for random characters (not in overflow) to not get points randomly is weird.

I have 6 characters and many days I get credit for only 4 or less. I don’t know if having 2 characters in the same place causes issues or what (I had 2 in Rata Sum and randomly only one would get the points… sometimes neither). I have a small guild, 7 individual players, all on the same server, most with less than 3 characters each, all representing. And on days I’ve logged into all of my 6 characters and two other players logged in, I will see… 3 members logged in for 30 influence.

The other thing I’m seeing with this: you should see these 10 influence immediately upon login, but I notice that I’m only seeing 2-4 (depending on random day) characters get the influence, but sometimes at the end of the day, I still see 6 members loggin in for 60 influence, but I KNOW I am the only player that logged in at all! So when is it getting added? Is it finally tacking in my “overflow” influence?

Why are most/many of my characters not getting points? All of them get played at some point, some I craft a lot on, others I play with one friend or another (so they get played a little less), and one is my main who gets played the most (but I found out recently that overflow plays a huge part in that, so don’t be in LA!

Anyway, just wanted to share my experiences with this as well considering I’ve been monitoring it for the last couple weeks and have noticed these inconsistencies. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Here is a post I found before this one where someone else mentions his issues:

Apparently, this issue is mentioned a couple times, but not as much as guild admin issues so it may have gotten lost. Just thought I’d post this in case you haven’t found it yet.

Also, guild influence for logging in is given immediately upon that characters login. It is just tallied at the “end of the day” telling you how much you’ve actually gained. Also, guilds across different servers have separate pools of influence, so as long as you’re on the same server as the guild, it shouldn’t mess with it (but we know that’s an issue, I’m only in one guild and all chars are on the same server).

Hope that helps.

Guild Attendance Check

I’ve had issues with the attendance influence myself (hence checking the forums). I have 6 characters and I log into each one daily if I have time to see if I want to play any of them or maybe craft some stuff while I’ve got free time. I notice that it will log 10 pts per character logged with some exceptions. So the wiki says 10 pts up to 20 members… well my guild is small and my 6 chars make up about 50% of the guild so I know it’s not that. But what will happen, is some of my characters will only gain 10 influence some of the time. I found I had 2 characters in Rata Sum and only one would get the influence about 70% of the times I logged in on them. And now, one of the chars still doesn’t get influence every time.

I also read that any characters stuck in an overflow upon logging will NOT receive influence for your representing guild… so there’s that, don’t be in LA! That explains why my main isn’t getting it… but yesterday, I logged in on all 6 characters played for about 30 mins each on 2 of them and I only got 30 influence yesterday for 3 characters logged in.

So… something seems off with this! Why aren’t all characters logging in gaining influence?! I started experimenting with this about 2 weeks ago and moved all of my characters to separate places (all but one without overflow), and still not getting all the influence credit. It’s completely random which characters get the influence and which do not!

I’m the only person in my guild who plays at times other than weekends so my guild influence is vital to our growth and this really messes things up.

Anyway, guess I’ll fill out a bug report also and hope that someone can figure out why this is happening!

And yes, I’m representing on all characters and yes, each character gets played at some point. (I have a 2 [just remade for the 4th time so I’m now happy with her choices & appearance],11, 17, 43, 60, 80)

Any input on this problem would be appreciated. Thanks!

A funny addition… I ran a dungeon just after I posted this… I got a rare drop from some random mob of baddies. Some generic pistol lol. Oh well, guess we’ll see how this goes as time moves on.

Allow Necros to Dismiss Minions Please!

As someone who’s played a Necromancer since GW1, I don’t see why we can’t have a skill that allows us to terminate our minions on command. Whether they do something or not, doesn’t matter, sometimes, it’s tough to accomplish something if your minion is around and you don’t want to have to switch your toolbar around just to get rid of them. Before the AI was updated recently, I found my Flesh Golem was a PitA about pulling things I didn’t want to attack… it would just off and attack anything within some range whether it wanted to attack me or not. Now it’s much better!!!! I’ve taken it into dungeons and completed pve map explore with him with much less issue.

However! He still doesn’t always follow as he’s supposed to (as with all the minions for that matter). Suppose you wanted to avoid some guys (or something you know you can’t kill by yourself like a champ) by jumping down a ramp, but suddenly, your minions go running around the ramp and pulling that baddie or baddies anyway and now you’re forced to fight them unless you’ve got some escape. Having the option to quickly kill them and jump without having to mess around with your toolbar would be an AWESOME option. When time is of the essence or you don’t want to risk pulling extra guys with stray minions, or you’re already in combat, but need to get rid of them, having the option to dismiss them in one keystroke would be ideal!

Thank you for posting this suggestion, I would love to see something like this implemented. And yes, F2 would be a great button for that!

WvW map completion VS PVE map completion

in Suggestions

I’m sorry if this is already around somewhere (I couldn’t locate anything quite like it with searches), but please bear with me on this suggestion.

I’m a die-hard pve person and pvp has never been my strong suit (yep, I get it… please don’t rip into me for this). But I have always been a completionist, so when I see the Been There. Done That. Title track… my thought is… “Oh! Zaitan’s corruption across Tyria” Explore and enjoy the story areas. However, I finish exploring and I still have around 5% of the map to complete. I look into it only to find that I need to COMPLETE the WvW maps as well. Now… for someone who doesn’t do pvp unless a friend asks me to help them with something, I find this horribly grindy and against my play code because now it turns one of my favourite things into a grueling task that causes me endless frustration. I’m sure many pve-ers would agree.

My suggestion is: Perhaps making 2 separate map completion title/tracks. 1 for the PVE maps and one for the WvW or PVP or both combined.

This way, pvp-ers don’t have to putz around in the pve maps unless they want to and us pve-ers can continue to enjoy the game as we always have without having to find a source of frustration in something we don’t wish to do. This would work for both sides! Both get their own achieves and can feel like they accomplished something and neither has to do the others’ achieve unless they like completing everything. Honestly, if it was this way, I may even considering doing the WvW/PvP achieves when I’m bored/finished with the pve explore without feeling like I have to do it! Sometimes, pve-ers would do this just to do something different. Also, completing a WvW map is quite challenging for some and might be a huge accomplishment to do it considering you’re competing against others to complete this map. That makes it special in itself! So it’s definitely worth having it’s own title track!

And as for those complaining that you need Badges to make legendaries. Well… that’s different. If you want to include those as part of that, I don’t see why that needs to change, but perhaps make a legendary that is solely based on pve requirements. This way, the rest of us can do it too at some point. I don’t see how adding or adjusting the rewards slightly to account for 2 separate exploration tracks would impact those things. I only see them as enhancing an aspect of the game to appeal to more peeps.

I hope this suggestion (there may be 2 in there lol) helps and others find it appealing as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider it!

I’ve been having concerns about drop rate for a while now as well, sadly, I’m only now stumbling across this thread.

I can’t help but wonder if drop rate is some how linked with game play (like in GW1). I’ve got more hours logged than I’d care to admit and I get CRAP for drop rates. I just don’t understand! I play with a few friends sometimes and we’ll all be doing the same event or harvesting the same nodes and every few mins I hear from one of them “OMG I just got [insert awesome/rare/exotic item here]” and here I get junk or stuff levels way below me. I have practically given up on dragons and farming for those things because my friends get 1-2 exotic/rares when I play with them and I get all blues, 1 green, and a level 65 coral.

I practically never get rare/exotic drops and when I do, I’m reluctant to do anything with them because this may be my only one over the course of a week. I even started resorting to wasting money at the TP to buy rares just to try and salvage Ectos out of them to avoid dishing out 33s x5 every time I needed another 5 to craft something.

Money doesn’t come easy for me here either. I’ve gotten more silver (yep silver), running around and following boring WvW zergs than I have playing through story, dynamic events in pve, hearts, etc. And sadly, because that takes so long to get anything accomplished (2+ hours just to knock at the door of the same camp/towers and run again), I end up with more barbs, claws, and “bags” than anything else… if I’m lucky, I find 1 rare of around lvl 75-76 (after about 7 hours of game play… a lot, but I have been hard pressed to try and complete the Been there, Done that track). But my bags are rarely full, and when they are, it’s crafting materials and junk. I think I had over 75 barbs after a 5 hour play session and didn’t empty my bags once.

I don’t have specific #‘s on this, but I can honestly say that I’ve had a noticeable decline in good drops since before december and at this point, I’m sadly disappointed feeling like nothing has any value for me. I don’t go after the dragons any more because it feels like a waste of time and money, it can cost up to 3s to get someplace from LA (if you try to hurry and not miss out taking the cheapest route) and you only get about, on average from the 3 fights, 1.6 silver from the event itself… I found myself losing money trying to get to them all with nothing but vendor crap and salvageables to show for it.

Yes, this is a bit ranty, but it’s sad to feel this way considering I don’t care to go after JP anymore now that I’ve done them all once (the rewards are not worth the effort, even on characters appropriate to the level), major event chains are boring and feel worthless to farm without any reward for them, champs are certainly not worth the effort (no event or loot drop for the time invested in them), and my bags are always only half-full of grey and white items. And every time I play with my friends, I hear about all the great loots they picked up and how much they sold it for on the TP if it wasn’t useful for them. [I remember when I had to empty my bags every 30 mins just to keep playing without leaving stuff behind]

Thanks for taking the time to read this and looking forward to some sweet loot in the future!

I just found that this also seems to fix the issue with purchasing gems on the gems store (with credit card). Despite the fix on Oct 1, I was still unable to purchase gems on my mac client, but this has now been fixed and I’ve been able to purchase gems through my client for the first time since the summer. FYI, you need to reset all of your UI settings afterwards unfortunately (since this seems to wipe all that out as well, other than what is saved server side). Thanks guys!

No Opening Cinematic?

I like this suggestion of having a replay cinematic option. I love the videos and cinematics in this game, but sometimes… sadly, something comes up just as one starts to play and I’ve missed something so awesome and there is no way to see it again. I know this can’t be done for all since some are based right from in-game and transition, but for videos like the opening cinematic and major story steps where you don’t necessarily see your character doing anything or it could be just the generic model for your character.

Just a thought, but yeah, I like it and would love to see something like that implemented in the future!

Client loses Connection

I also experience this from time to time. I usually get it after remaining idle for just a couple mins (say enough time to run, grab a drink, sit down, move character… disconnect).

But what’s worse is, I disconnect almost every time I unplug my power cable from my laptop (whether by accident or intentional). If I’m unplugged for more than 10 seconds, I get the same type of disconnect. It is NOT my battery, that works fine; if I’m doing graphics work in photoshop and illustrator at the same time, I can run on battery for around 4 hours and browse the internet (with about 30 tabs open) without any disruptions.

It’s been rather troubling since I am on a laptop and sometimes you want to relocate to a different room, I just know I’m going to disconnect before I get to replug in.

Has anyone else had this issue on a macbook pro or any other laptop?

(I run on a MBP 15" late 2011 OSX 10.7.5, but my hubs has the new MBP 15" with retina display and 10.8.x and hasn’t had an issue like this once)

Mail not being received!

Kyllaa.1385

I haven’t had any issues with this personally, but what I have had issues with is sending email if I don’t spell the name right or use caps properly. EX: Character name is Mary Sue Williams, but if you type mary sue williams, the mail will not send, it says the character doesn’t exist. You have to make sure there are capitals where capitals exist.

Also, you can only have up to 10 emails from other players in your inbox at any given time. So if you send lots of items, make sure to delete them promptly after the item is removed. And if you happen to get gold spammers emailing you, report those and delete them promptly also, I was having issues with not getting mail until I realized that I had about 8 of those suckers in my mail waiting to be deleted.

Hope this helps.

For me, running forward and jumping into the door while spamming “F” seemed to work for me both times I had to interact with that door. (I had to hold both mouse keys to run while consistently jump and pressing F at the same time… also I had better results jumping into the right side of the door)

I didn’t have any trouble finishing after this. (no issues with the final door, just make sure you make it out before the npcs… don’t stop!)
