Did you try the fix above yet? (Disk repair using disk utility)
(edited by Kyllaa.1385)
Hard drive would’ve been my thought too Abomally, but he specifically said it’s coming from GPU “region” so I immediately bypassed it and figured it must be within the fan(s) somewhere.
But I guess we’ll see what comes when he replies.
Without the whole log, it’s difficult to predict what is going on, but if that is not an “out of memory” error, then your problem isn’t the same as the others on the thread and should really be a new topic all together and will most likely require different fixes. But again, without the whole log, it’s tough to say.
To correct what problems? Low fps? That happens on the pc too. Not to mention, the pc version has even more problems than we do. And they’re a lot harder to fix, IMHO.
Right now, with the state we’re in, it’s really a personal choice of convenience not really of better.
But please elaborate on the problems you’re facing? (If you mean the other thread, typically, once they pinpoint it, they fix it.)
Then there likely is no helping you, but until Anet establishes “recommended” system requirements, you most likely will be facing more crashes in the future. Considering right now, many users of 32 bit windows are facing issues, it’s worth trying a work around until whatever has changed gets remedied (maybe) or they establish a list of recommended specs.
This game isn’t even 1 yet, these things are still being worked on for the multitude of different systems out there. Other games weren’t without their bugs in the first year or 3.
You can try to post your arenanet.log (usually under my documents/guild wars 2), export it as a .txt file and post using more posting & formatting options below.
Phantasms are like real entities and clones need to be shattered somehow, so they all take hit for the Mesmer. Not to mention the Phantasmal Defender that absorbs damage that the Mesmer would have taken otherwise. Btw, confuse the opponent = hiding the truth through deception.
If hitting the Mesmer exclusively allowed you to bypass damaging the clones/phantasms even if LoS means the clone is in front of the Mesmer, the Mesmer would be a broken/useless profession. This is not a bug.
Dimk, did you read the rest of the thread and try the suggestion posted by Abomally above?
Yep, you’re good, as Maze said. As long as your new system meets min requirements (I don’t see why it wouldn’t).
Are your drivers completely up to date? Windows too, even optional updates? Direct x?
Have you tested your temps while this is occurring? This is a nice piece of software, post a screenshot of this app after running gw2 for about 15 minutes.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
You could try deleting the local.dat (usually under my documents/guild wars 2).
Post back and let everyone know how you go. If nothing helps, post your system specs.
It could still be coming from one of your GPU fans (yes, I read post thoroughly).
However, you only listed 2 GPUs, both purchased from a single source and similar models, have you tested it on a completely different GPU? You didn’t list any specs on the “other” computers you have tested it on.
Have you actually tested your voltages with monitoring software?
This is a great piece if you don’t already have it, it lists voltages, post a screenshot of this running after playing gw2 for 15 minutes (or while excessive ticking is occurring).
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Use more posting & formatting options below.
I believe the guild wars executable is gw2.exe search for that?
Oh odd, didn’t realise local.dat could cause THAT error! I’ll keep that in mind. Glad you found your problem with such an easy fix.
Sadly, I thought you had the crash associated with black screen; since they may be completely unrelated, please keep tabs on any other crashes you get in the future. There may still be something hiding in there.
Good luck!
Is your direct x fully up to date?
Definitely keep us posted, but if your disk check comes back clean, please run the game advisor listed above and post that, someone might see a conflict with software or something.
Glad to hear that helped out!
Characters are absolutely the same, we can even play with the pc peeps lol.
Yep!
Nope!
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions or need additional support, post back.
Lord Raw, judging by your report, I’d guess that you’re suffering from the problem that other 32 bit windows users are reporting. I’ll edit this post with a link from another person who found a possible fix that has worked for a couple.
Here it is, this may or may not work for you:
"
Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:
http://www.vfxpedia.com/index.php?title=FAQ/3GB_Switch
Edit: Ignore the stuff about “DFX+/Fusion cache limit” it has nothing to do with GW2.
"
The other obvious choice is a 64bit OS. Post back if that link helped you.
(edited by Kyllaa.1385)
Have you resolved your issue?
(Somehow this post got lost with the rest)
Ugh! Fail! I didn’t post the link, I had it all copied and ready to go too.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
I’m so sorry! My cat was driving me batty and I just posted and ran lol. My bad!
Glad to hear and thanks for the update. Post again if any further issues.
Oh great! Glad our friend Schnolltz popped in to post that, I was just reading his success story. Post back if any further issues.
It’s possible. You don’t have to unless you have connection problems. But basically, you want to make sure that the 4 ports required by gw2 are unrestricted.
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8994/~error-codes
Almost any code will tell you the ports required.
Could be heat related, could be faulty hardware, could be an os snafu, could be an insufficient or failing power supply unit.
If you don’t already have it, could you run this program while you first start gw2 (when you can guarantee a reboot) prior to this reboot and take a screenshot of this program running, then post it here.
Also, please post your complete system specs.
I find that if you make the chat box shorter, it will automatically become more narrow and pop back into place.
That seems to be the only thing I can think of if not wanting to make ui smaller.
Dao, you should post your CPU as well, but have you tried running the client with only 1 vid card?
Nami, search around the Internet, you might be able to find a new genuine win 7 -64bit install disk for a reasonable amount.
I found this to post for you:
"
What causes error 1450 ?
The 1450 error may be caused by windows system files damage. The corrupted windows system files entries can be a real threat to the well being of your computer.
There can be many events which may have resulted in the system files errors. An incomplete installation, an incomplete uninstall, improper deletion of applications or hardware. It can also be caused if your computer is recovered from a virus or adware/spyware attack or by an improper shutdown of the computer. All the above actives may result in the deletion or corruption of the entries in the windows registry. This corrupted registry will lead to the missing and wrongly linked information and files needed for the proper working of the application.
"
It’s possible you may need to redownload the gw2.dat file. To do this, rename the gw2.dat file to gw2.old then open the client and let the download begin.
Once this is completed, make a copy of the new gw2.dat file and store it externally if possible (external harddrive, large capacity jump drive), it’s ~17.5gb. You’ll need this pristine file later if you have this again or need to reinstall (saves the download). Also, while downloading, disable any energy saver features or screen lock features until this download s complete, we don’t want your hard disk stopping or losing the download to a sleep feature or having to re-login.
That’s the only thing I can think of other than verifying you have the latest version of direct x, but that is something different, I don’t think it caused this issue.
At this point, I’m hoping another person could have a peek and give their opinions.
But please try to redownload the .dat file as described and let me know how you go.

Taiance, you’re actually experiencing a different issue than most of the others on this thread, have you tried running the client with a repair? It’s similar to running the diagnostic you ran, but instead of -diag, use -repair.
(Silly iPad and REALLY bad typos)
(edited by Kyllaa.1385)
Can you post your crash log? It’s named arenanet.log (my documents/guild wars 2), please export it’s a .txt file and attach it using more posting & formatting options below.
You should be able to find it under Explorer.
However,if you can’t install from cd, go to account.guildwars2.com, use the same login you use here, then click the download link.
Once downloaded, run this installer as administrator and you shoud be on your way to download ~17.5gb of gaming goodness.
All this as long as your system meets the requirements.
To prevent issues, disable any energy saver or screen lockout settings until the download is complete. If you must save your screen, do it the old fashioned way of powering it down.
Post back how you go.
Disable Camera shake under your options panel. That should help.
Thanks for adding your bits to the other list. Sorry I didn’t get to respond here. It’s obvious something uncool is happening, but hopefully Luis can pass it on and a fix is found soon. Keep posting updates to the other thread as you find them, you never know, it might actually help the devs.
I wanted to note to you that I frequently have this issue of the golden spinny, but in the last couple days only I’ve found it does load eventually (most times), just waiting it out… Sometimes 30 seconds or so. If it doesn’t load there, move to a different zone and sometimes it will (as you have found).
The old fix for this used to be to restart the client sometimes got it working.
Glad you seem to have it mostly working, post back if any other issues with it.
Have you figured this out?
If not, I can look into it later for you and try to help out if someone else doesn’t get to it before me.
I personally do not (haven’t built a pc in some time), but there are a few great techy peeps on this forum who might, hopefully they see this and could recommend something. Sorry, I’m not useful in that department.
However, I’m glad you have made some progress to culling those crashes/issues. Please post back if anything else crops up.
You can try repairing the client, deleting the local.dat file (my documents/guild wars 2), or fidget with your video card control software settings. Try application controlled settings.
Also, are you running any overclocking? Or any special setup?
Crazy, post your system specs & your crash log.
You crash log is arenanet.log (my documents/guild wars 2) and you need to export it as a .txt then attach it using more posting & formatting options below.
Burntb, let us know how you go.
Fantastic!
Thanks for posting guys, please keep those specs coming for any who are still getting these crashes.
Shouldn’t matter, but you can’t enter the game until everything is fully downloaded.
To prevent issues, disable your energy saver settings that could turn off your hard disk or cause your computer to send you to a lock/login screen or screen saver. Just turn your screen off manually… Lol old school energy saver!
The data has changed quite a bit since those disks were released.
Try this:
1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post
If it doesn’t help, you may need to delete your cache.
Or file a ticket.
(edited by Kyllaa.1385)
You can try disabling the new LOD tick box at the bottom of your graphics settings. See if it helps. Post back please.
The point being made is, it’s not the games fault that the system can’t keep up. Which is exactly what everyone has been saying all along, it’s on the user end where the fault lies.
Okay, I’m out now lol.
I read somewhere that by clicking on the gear in the top left corner of the chat panel, you can change the text size (maybe it was to small) and this will allow you to see the marks.
Please test the various options and post back.
Post back if you have any other issues.
Lol, mine looks like that all the time ;p
You may want to toggle your depth blur on/off.
I love Australia! I miss it there so much lol.
However, during my time there I noticed I had connection issues playing a … Different… game some time back. Sporadically, my connection would d/c constantly and lag exceeding 3000ms was common at times. Other times, fine!
You may actually have a great connection, so this may not be related, but one thing to consider is the hops your connection is routed through might be high population at various times.
Since your game worked fine on a completely different connection and computer (btw, not something many would recommend lol), it is most likely an issue on your end.
You might need to post a game advisor report.
http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor
A crash log would be exceedingly helpful also. What we need is your arenanet.log file (my documents/guild wars 2) exported as a .txt file and attached below along with the game advisor report using more posting & formatting options down below.
If you do submit a ticket, please come back here and post your solution once they’ve helped you find it. Help others with this problem.
That’s most likely what changed your distant blurriness. It seems you’ve found your fix then?
