LOL. I have Khryosaor as well, had no idea it looked like a precursor. I was just throwing rares at the MF one day because mithril wasn’t worth much anymore, and it gave me the sword, so I figured it looked alright and transmuted it to berserker stats.
I guess I need to go stand by the forge now and torment people. xD
I found a few of the personal story characters interesting… which makes it all the more frustrating when it turns out to be short and irrelevant. :/
Sicaea from the Ash Legion story has an amusing personality. Her brief conversation with Rytlock about a mission that had a slight malfunction was hilarious. Also, that weird Iron Legion (mechanic? Guard?) whose name I forget now, that one was funny too.
Shaman’s isn’t a craftable prefix afaik. You get them from drops in frostgorge.
Well, he does walk around there a lot, so he probably had been.
I’m guessing 200% of the default value.
But yes you can put MF stuff in weapons.
^The person you were replying to never claimed that.
I run an axe/warhorn + greatsword build and in combat my stacks of might rarely go under 20. There is some room for improvement but for now 20-25k dmg from Hundred blades every 6.5s is enough.
On level one chickens?
Srsly, stop boasting without any facts behind it. 20 stacks of might without Sigil of Strength is bullkitten, I hardly get over 20 with the Sigil and this specc. And using GS with this build is complete and utter failure. No synergy at all. But stick with 5 signets build if you can’t let go of HB pewpewness.
I can confirm this is possible (and not on chickens) but naturally it does vary a lot depending on what you’re hitting. I have a lot of duration on boons + some specifically to might (20% I think), so I have FGJ + SoR’s might, and either on my mark or the charr battlecry (usually to buff the party’s fury duration… it’s virtually redundant on me) plus the trait to gain might on critical strikes with the GS. My crit chance is only about 30% unbuffed but fury is up all the time so effectively 50%.
It’s reeeaaally easy to stack 25 might in combat. I don’t think it could get that high with just skills alone, but I’ve not really tried. It’ll only last a few seconds (the one from GS crit seems to have shorter duration) but it only needs to.
For a recent example, using pwr/vit/tgh gear and berserker’s weapons and jewels, my highest HB against Thorn in the MK dungeon was just over 27,000. My team weren’t buffing me (or rather, not applying anything I didn’t have indefinitely with SoR and the w/h anyway) and he had vuln on him (I put it there. Had OMM at the time before I decided to put more fury on everyone, plus the precision trait for 33% to cause vuln on crit). Most were more like 12k, and besides that one time the best it would get was around 24-ish. And I have like… 35% crit damage.
So yeah, I don’t know how viable his build may or may not be, but that’s not out of reach on HB at all. Full berserker or valkyrie could probably get insane damage out of it (and then switch back to something that has a decent auto-attack for a few seconds :P ).
For some in AC it helps to have autotarget off and don’t target them, just swing. Even then, some are better from certain angles, and two or so I couldn’t hit at all.
The gem store heavy armour looks good, with a slight clipping issue (for me, might not be universal). I got it when gold converted to gems a lot better than it does now, though.
I got a corrupted one killing ice elementals in Cursed Shore during a temple event. So I think anywhere you can find those at lvl 80 (or so) probably has some chance, too.
More people mine ori -> ori gets cheaper -> less profitable to mine ori (though expensive stuff needing ori probably drops in value too) → less people mine ori… etcetera, etcetera.
Yeah I think I’ll survive the ‘competition’ somehow. It’s not like everyone doesn’t ask/tell the locations in /map anyway.
Even many of the players who DO make female charr, follow gender roles. They make their female very slim, and choose one of the cuter or more delicate faces, because the female=pretty & sexy ideal is so strong in society. The concept of huge, muscular females or mean/scary/war-torn females still seems out-of-place to most gamers.
In all fairness, the ‘cute’ (I hate this term btw – they just have the faces of real cat species) options only exist for female charr. So anyone who wanted to have a non-monster appearance and play charr pretty much needs to have a female character, meaning there’s really no way to tell how things would go if either sex could look ‘scary’ and ‘cute’ equally.
Definitely the little charr girl in the batman costume (CANDY DAY Charr). That line she says is so adorable, and when I figured out what her costume I was just… “All my candy goes to you now!”
Is that what it is? I just assumed it was a really little version of that darkish charr light armour.
Incidentally the sweets and candy day charr are both female iirc.
Mostly one charrling that always accosts me as I’m crossing a bridge in LA and reminds me that 50% of my inventory is actually stacks of candy. Then the one that yells ‘Candy Day’ at me as I go to the tp, for the same reason.
What exactly would they prefer me to run?
BR, frenzy… hammer! lol. I’ve no idea what that would do, but it would look funny knocking someone down and seeing the hammer’s final auto-attack land on their head.
rifle and fdall over at the slightest breeze?
…why?
OOooooooohhhh! i gotcha.
This actually isn’t too far from where i’m at. The only question would be, if they did come across an “ultimate being” would they adopt it as their God if that God was willing?
I don’t think there’d be a cut and dry answer. IMO, some would, some wouldn’t. The majority would be averse to the idea at first but there is still something that allows the Fire legion the ability to keep recruiting. if that following proved to be beneficial without glaring drawbacks, i imagine the Charr could get a new God. But… we’d need an ultimate being for that to even be a possibility and I don’t think we know that such a being exists in the lore.
Basically, yeah, I think it would be divisive. Flame legion obviously have a habit of seeking out gods by this point, and if it was truly benevolent (to charr at least) some non-flame groups might spring up as well. I wouldn’t expect an entire legion to do it, but who knows. Then there’s the ones who wouldn’t trust it after their recent history, and I imagine a lot just wouldn’t care much, sort of how they didn’t seem bothered by godlessness before they needed a way to beat humans.
not atheist… they are in the know about the existence of “gods”. yet they killed their gods leveling them to themselves an if you will become a deitie as a race itself.
bow to the mighty charr legions you maggots!!
lol. This gives me the mental image of a bunch of charr killing a god and then suddenly all doing the sword-in-the-air level up animation.
Ah, thanks, knew it was possible somehow. Yikes, that’s a lot of pebbles though. Guess I’d need to get farming if I want that for more than a minute at a time…
Those recipes were selling for like 3c last time I got one. I destroyed it. Maybe someone saw this and decided to just buy all of them.
The thing that shares the elementalist’s summoned GS bundle’s skin. I remember someone talking about it ages ago but I completely forgot about it until this morning when I was murdering the MK for the ?th time and an ele in the group kept summoning the bundles.
Also: can it be made? If so, what do I need?
edit: man, cronos-pro has far too few characters. Get a better font, anet!
(edited by LameFox.6349)
Because it works, and they can.
I’m not sure what 100 power actually gives you damage wise, but it’s already pretty high from that berserker amulet (still the highest of his attributes even -100). Unless it offers a flat damage increase per point, I wouldn’t expect the loss to hit that hard, especially given he could then have a more widespread critical damage bonus plus either higher crit chance or more frequent access to the signet (thus higher might stacks, which give power anyway).
Why do you have 10 points in strength for the axe critical damage? If you put it in discipline you could get 10% critical damage to everything, plus the adrenaline based critical chance (or signet recharge, so your FGJ and SoR might stacks will overlap more often).
Rata Sum is like the navigation version of a rubik’s cube.
Wait, is the heavy set pit fighter’s? I know that helmet skin…
So… it’s an achievement for an event? But we don’t know which? Or so I’m getting from this.
Farzo.8410I guess it’s Khorywn.
Thurwynn. I haven’t come across a Khorywn but I have been mistaken for someone else with a similar name. Maybe there’s a lot of us out there…
Wait… why? I can already dodge. Making block drain endurance would just give me less options than before. Though admittedly I do avoid shields on the warrior because of the awful cooldown even traited.
Hm… looking at that, I think my main concern would be the long c/d on all the utilities. Though I suppose if it outputs enough damage to shorten an encounter it might not matter.
If you play the blood storyline you pretty much hear it from flame themselves in one mission.
Oh I wasn’t expecting it would be something they consciously arrived at (or they might as well say it plainly). More like… just a feeling they could be left with after these experiences.
If it stops them from posting in poetry I’m all for the idea.
It seems to pick one person per run, annoy them by taking away their skills while everyone else fights, then stop. If you disobey it it hurts you (if you’re that one person) but not fatally.
I’m not sure, I think they just liked the idea of one random dancing while 4 people are mercilessly slaughtering giant candies trying in vain to fight for their lives.
>Implying the crowd of players actually loaded…
I think my main issue with this was that I never knew it was only a cinematic. I wouldn’t have stayed up to 3 am for a cinematic. The relevant part (i.e. dungeon) would still be there after I slept.
Is this an achievement, or…?
Thorwyn.8469Halloween-Party!!!
Your account name is (almost) one of my main characters’ names. For a moment I stopped and thought ‘what? I didn’t post that…’
Mostly it’s because someone falls off and is on their way back. Honestly he’s so easy we never even tried to stop it, it’s not like he heals back up or anything.
Technically you can, if you use the battle cry racial. Well, not orders per se, but the effect is there. Very few games have what sounds like real yelling though, more like quietly pretending to yell which gets enough in-game volume to seem like you’re yelling when compared to other noises. It’s a pity really.
Also, I think it would have been nice if they gave us at least three voice options per gender per species. Maybe one for fierce, one for dignified, and one for charm – or something of that nature. It was nice having different accents in SR3 for example. I guess they didn’t really feel it was worth the expense, though.
You can stop walls of text from displaying. ;P
TBH, if they don’t extend it there’s always the next event (and crafting in the MF apparently if you want the skins?). If they do extend it, everyone who isn’t affected still gets more time than the people who are, so even if the value of the items goes down, these people have a greater opportunity for profit.
In short: it doesn’t matter either way.
I’ll probably run it like 20 times tonight, its especially fast when you know the shortcut locations, yay suicide jumps! lol
One run, he had teleported back up before he died. I leapt off the second platform, looted the chest like —> <-- far from the ground, died and teleported out. It was amazing.
thereturnedhero.3284Well If any of you read the news….Hurricane Sandy is heading to the East Coast of the US. I happen to live there….the storm is supposed to rain a lot, snow a lot, possibly kill some people, and cut power. Supposed to hit me around Monday night. Will I be missing any Halloween events or not?
If you’re dead, most definitely.
The majority warrior group was definitely the best of the things I tried. Two of us had all the banners covered, plus another guy besides me with warhorn condition removal, 3-4 sets of ‘shake it off!’ for each scarecrow that insta-died upon spawning and cast fear… lol. We could not get a condition, there was a ridiculous collection of might, fury, swiftness, vigor, regen stacks on everyone, and the slowest part of the whole thing was waiting for him to stop talking and become vulnerable. XD
Unless clarified by the devs I don’t think we can really know that it’s intended combat rather than intended potential combat. In any part of the game, if an activity/enemy is not an objective (or directly related to one, like attacking something you need alive) in the mission you’re trying to complete, you can ignore it. You can also choose to attack every ghost you see underground in Ascalon just because you happen to be passing through on your way to kill a specific one, but if you’ve set out to do X and you complete X without killing some random thing between you and it, I don’t think that’s necessarily a problem.
This really just sounds like you have a personal disagreement with the people you tend to group with…
i agree with what your saying lamefox. the problem i am seeing is where is the risk in spending 10 minutes in a dungeon to get what a 400 crafter has to work much harder for. a subtle difference between the two for when your (for example) sitting in divinity’s reach would be appreciated i think. that aside, i spent the time to get the plans for ‘the crossing’ and intend on making it no matter the cost since i am not able to do the dungeon this season. at least i’ll know in my own mind that i earned it.
The risk is the lack of a guarantee. You might do one run in 10 minutes and get a themed exotic, but it’s very very unlikely. On the other hand, you might go the whole event with nothing to show for it. It’s gambling.
If it were changed so that the best outcome was just as slow as crafting, the dungeon would be utterly worthless, because there would be no reason to abandon the guaranteed outcome of crafting.
This really seems like a band-aid solution to me. Warriors admittedly could take it easier than some classes (maybe impale → rip would be problematic) but generally speaking the ability to use one key for different stages of a skill saves a lot of bindings. If there are latency issues causing keys to require being pressed numerous times to activate, it would be better to work on improving that instead of simplifying one class.
Having said that though, I’m playing on a server around the world from me (8 timezones apart, plus in a different hemisphere) and I don’t have latency issues with activation unless something else is going wrong at the time. It might not even be an issue with GW, just something between you and the server.
If you’re not talking about latency at all, I’m a bit confused by what you mean. Are you hitting the skill key twice because you wanted to use another skill? Because in that case, maybe you should change your bindings. I mean what would keep you from wasting a skill the same way just by missing a key and activating it before you should have used it?
It’s a risk/reward thing. You could farm resources (or gold to buy them) and craft an item quite reliably, taking a fair bit of time (although in the case of buying mats you might have already taken this time). Alternately, you could do the dungeon and maybe get one sooner, but not necessarily what you want. Or you may spend just as long in there and wind up with nothing to show for it, or get something after a longer time than crafting would have taken.
Or you could do both.
It is my opinion that the best way to handle speed runs is for mobs in dungeons to never lose agro. I am not sure why they allowed players to train through mobs that you could eventually outrun and would return to the spawn point in dungeons. They need to make it so that if you train through mobs in a dungeon your group never loses agro so when you get to your destination there is an army of mobs trailing behind you.
So someone goes in, gets aggro and runs off to die in some corner, and the team goes past unseen. Mob returns to its position, team revives dead guy. Rinse, repeat.
This may sound crazy but have you thought about doing both?
I’ve had the largest charr and smallest asura possible, and honestly the easiest in puzzles was a medium-ish human. Never tried a huge norn but I think it probably would be similar to charr.
One person with us had like 200% the whole time. IIRC they did get some exotics, but just the 78 ones not the 80 halloween themed ones.
I have a feeling the chance for a (good) one is just very low, because the dungeon is so easy, and they didn’t want to flood the market. Consider how few (if any – I haven’t seen one at all) yellow weapons or armour there are. Those aren’t worth that much anyway, but if you could suddenly get loads of them right there in LA, scaled up to 80, it would be a goldmine of ectoplasms and ori. Same with the non-themed exotics.
So if you OD on caffeine and rerun the dungeon until closing time, you’ll probably get rich. If you do it a few hours a day like me, you’ll probably get something. If you manage like 20 runs overall, you might get lucky or just waste a lot of time. Or so it looks to me, anyway.
