I think the only way for a bleed condition build to work is:
1.Being able to escape while bleeding target: Thief
2.Applying it regularly with no need to close in: Engineer. You have to close the gap, engineers just keep shooting you the whole time so its a constant bleed on you. Also, they have lots of other conditions to help with it.
3.Introducing a new mechanic: You AND your group gets healed X% for the amount of damage you do via bleeds. Introduce bleeds on ranged weapons more effectively to have it up all the time.The only warrior builds with condition damage in an mmorpg that I ever saw working effectively was using option 3.
Well, the advantage warriors have over thieves and Engies is the insane amount that you can apply. Ripost applies 6, Pin Down 6, Impale 4, Flurry 8, and lets not forget the stacks from perks, runes and sigils. I don’t think any other class can stack 20+ faster than a warrior can in addition to burning. I’ve been simply overwhelming classes with bleeds and have been winning a decent number of 1v1s and more importantly been a big help in team fights where I can constantly cover a capture point in flame making things very unpleasant for the enemy, unfortunately this means I get targeted down more often where with a normal GS build they may go for a guardian first.
Escape is also possible while bleeding because I have a Earth sigil on my bow, Savage leap out of range then kite till you can leap in again and apply another bleed spike.

Apparently. Because that’s all you need In PvE. Warriors have survivability issues in PvP. Not PvE. Mini-perma vigor from the signet + extra dodge on WW is all you need.

so you saying offhand mace’s one control skill and shield’s one control skill is better then hammer which has 4 control skills. also i have no idea how can you compare hammer with gs, its like comparing shield with axe

Yea, you can build a thief for constant evasion… well semi-constant… of course you sacrifice damage and other things for it… but to be serious… ok, so what you are saying here is simply this… build a thief so you can enter combat but all you will ever do unless you want to die is evade…. ooooh that sounds like sooooo much fun.

There are only 4 damaging conditions, 3 of which that are actually good at dealing damage…
Confusion: really only Engineer and Mesmer can use these effectively.
Poison: doesn’t do much damage regardless of condition damage boosting.
Bleed: warrior can be set up to apply this well.
Burn: longbow does this pretty nicely too.So what exactly is with the complain of “only bleeds” for?
lets ignore confusion and poison not like warriors have that. if you choose to burn people lets see how many stacks of bleed you can apply, well not like you can apply alot of bleeds anyway since its capped at 25 and everyone else can apply bleed too

you missed PvE high end like fotm 40 + and it should be like this
Direct Damage – One of the best because mobs do not move or defend well (Great)
Condition Damage – Only bleeds, capped at 25 and other profs have bleeds too (OK)
Healing – Ok heal (OK/Good)
Boons – No defensive boons (OK)
Defense – Protective skills have long cooldowns that may save you in one fight but will die in next. (Bad/OK)
Sustain – LolWut? no protection no evade nothing (Bad)

I agree with you with the bow. But that is one bleed attack on a 25s cooldown.
Longbow autotack has two shots, longbow 2 has three . If you use a high crit build, the arms tree bleed traits and a sigil of earth you get nice bleeds from lb 1 and 2 (use point-blank) as well.
Still, I think longbow is stronger in a power/crit build using the conditions as bonus. If you go 30 deep in arms and trigger signet of range you get 475 conditon damage without sacrificing anything in a power/crit build.Riposte: Yea, meele-only sucks. How about using the reflect-on-block trait? Then you could use sword offhand from some distance. Then jump in with 2 and 3 and if he evades and tries to kite, you can already switch back to longbow. (Just throwing in the idea, I didn’t test this).
@OP: Why do you use Berserker’s power in a condition build? If I’m not mistaken it only apllies to direct damage.
its not like other classes can`t use sigil of earth.
warriors can get 20+ bleeds so easy with these but its capped at 25,only at the beginning of the fight, easy to remove and not easy to apply back again . while other profs doing good amount of bleeds constantly

who cares about healing, the point of this game is to prevent from getting hit not healing..
swords; get rid of the block, bleed stacking shouldnt be a chore, blocks should be on mace.
Definitely big NO to that. Off hand sword #5 should keep its blocking ability which is very useful indeed. Besides blocking suits the style of sword much better than mace. (try to block with a mace in real life, but I have been doing some fencing lessons and sword is good for parry / repel etc).
If Arenanet wants to make sword a more viable weapon and have it seen also used in competitive play, here are few ideas:
- reduce sword #3, hamstring, cooldown to 10 s. (axe #3 does also cripple, has 900 range and just 10 s cooldown). This would have very little effect in pve, because hamstring does so little damage. Axe #3 would still be better.
- slightly reduce the direct damage of final strike (end of sword auto-attack chain), but make it either inflict poison or vulnerability. This would make condition warriors much more viable as they desperately need some conditions to cover those bleed stacks which are easily removed
- Dual Wielding strength line master trait is underpowered e.g. compare it with slashing power. Same trait line and 20 trait points. The former gives 5% more damage, while the latter gives 10%. This is one more reason why most warriors use greatsword and spear. Dual wielding should also give 10% more damage when wielding off-hand mace, axe or sword. Or even better, not increase the damage, but reduce the cooldown of those off-hand weapons by 20%, to allow the off-hand skills use more often.Bleeding stacking has never been a problem for warrior, both sword and rifle are very efficient at pumping then and combine that with precise strikes. I can easily get 25 stacks on enemy using my warrior. The problem is that in pvp or WvWvW those bleeds are removed so easily.
haha dual swords is more officiant in pvp then pve(yet still not as good as other weapons). i can just 100b and whirlwind and kill tons of mobs way faster with bigger aoe then those fail swords lololol

the only thieves you see are roaming in wvw now. spvp/tpvp/zerg/guild play is now no longer in need of what thieves bring. they arent the kings of burst anymore and yet still have the crappy defense. they still are amazing duelers but take too long to do it usually… in a 5 v 5 it puts alot of pressure on teamates when u go invis to heal/drop condis/set up for attacks and also puts pressure on you if more than 1 person targets u. dont wrry it will change soon i think. anet wants to increase our base dmg so we dont have to always have 30 in crit or 30 in deadly to do dmg.

so my game got force closed and downloaded something at launcher
when i log back in, i can’t get back in the dungeon anymore, it says something like unable to access. :|

Hey guys, I have both Warrior and Guardian and like both of them but for the life of me can’t decide which one to go with as my main, here are my basic needs if helps advise me on which would be better for me:
1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
2. Good Damage
3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
Kill it before it kills you. No sustainability. Warriors have the durability of a red solo cup in a party. AKA, have a blast before your thrown away.2. Good Damage
Warrior is the best damage in the game, if your enemies stand still, to bad that isn’t the case, if the enemies move the Guardian does more damage.3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
Guardians are a required class in most high in fractals because of how good they are.4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.
I dunno.Rush is a 9k hit by itself, whirlwind can be 10k as well. Axe can still out dps a guardian as well. I can survive on my berserker warrior just fine.
Rush has a 75% miss chance, Whirlwind almost never hits its full 10k.
Yes, the damage is ridiculous, but if you can’t land the damage it really doesn’t matter.
Its why 100b is worthless in pvp, it does SO MUCH DAMAGE. to bad moving out of the way or a sidestep can negate 90% of it. It happens in PvE too, especially in guild bounties. It really shows you HOW BAD the warrior actually is.
if your rush has a 75% miss chance in PVE then you should probably delete the game and play some farm vile instead. i can land a full 100b on mossman at 38 fractal with ppc gear easily and move out of the way in time without getting hit, does that show how bad i am, ok
let me tell you something in pve
warrior does insane damage but that’s it, no one ever thank you for doing that amount of damage
but as a guardian, it’s easy mode in every dungeon and people will love you for it.
i’ve been running ppc gear 25 30 0 0 15 for everything and change the traits to 20 0 5 30 15 for the shout heal for fotm 30+, i can do insane damage while staying alive at 38 volcano but that’s about it, if your team get wiped you can’t do anything…while guardian can stay alive easily while helping everyone in the team so they don’t get wiped
oh did i mention that to do a good amont of damage as a warrior you need learn to dodge and all that.

you will probably need to throw 5 more points in disc for that fast hand. with shield of energy as second set weapon it boosts your damage and survibility plus it gives crit damage
oh actually 10 more points for signet recharge faster with FGJ you can have almost perm fury which is 20% crit chance if you are full zerker hight crit damage build..

lol longbow is crazy in wvw, just place a f1 in the zerg then sit back and enjoy the loots
get to the open area 1st, cuz from my experience, in a small place with terrible camera you can no way defeat a mesmer, in the open atleast its easier to find the real one

OBVIOSLY Detcelfer has never played another profession and has never mastered or merely gained some skill with the warrior seeing that he can’t recognise how little skill it takes to have succes with the warrior.

I own a lvl80 thief for pve and both a warrior and an Elementalist D/D for pvp I might not know how to play a thief in pvp but i certainly have an idea how to play both warrior and Ellementalist in pvp and pve. and I can tell you that you don’t need skill for the warrior it’s enough to mash buttons! for the Ele on the other hand timing is very important. o and thief in pve is a lot more af a chalenge than in pvp
