For the necromancer, we felt that a few traits and skills were too powerful, while others were lacking in efficacy. We brought down some of the raw DPS conditions that necromancer enjoys, while also maintaining their pressure and sustain elements. The necromancer’s mobility will remain where it is currently, as we want the Necromancers to be focused on sustaining themselves through death shroud, siphoning health, and slowing down their opponent’s ability to act.
- Mark of Blood. Removed 1 bleed in PvP only.
- Signet of Spite: Removed one bleed.
- Spite 15 – Death into Life. Increased conversion from 5% to 7%
- Spite X – Chill of Death. Increased trigger threshold from 25% to 50%.
- Curses IV – Weakening Shroud. Increase recharge from 15 to 25.
- Curses VIII – Banshee’s Wail. Increase cooldown reduction from 15% to 20%.
- Death 5 – Reanimator. Decreased cooldown from 30s to 15s.
- Death VIII – Reaper’s Protection. Decreased the cooldown from 90s to 60s.
- Death 25 – Deadly Strength. Increased conversion from 5% to 10%.
- Blood Magic 25 – Blood to Power. Decreased health threshold from 90% to 75%. Increase Power from 90 to 120.
- Soul Reaping II. Vital Persistence. Increased reduction of life force drain from 25% to 50%.

Charr can be somewhat tricky to robe up with a armor for necro especialy females. I can think of only 2 possible matching set, Winged feathered combo and Orrian. Because lets face it COF is more for elementalist. As for where the charr stands in the dialogue it aint much more agressive or wicked then the asura is the main diffrence is:
The asura talk like if it was a superior behing or something, is highly arrogant and use a lot of scientifical therm such as ‘’Endurance level is to low’’ talking like if he was a computer.
The charr use a lot of soldier themed therms ‘’i cant remember my orders’’(confused)

The Rifle is indeed quite difficult compared to most weapons when actually trying to get the damage out. Blunderbus is very choosy on whether it wants to hit or not. It only strikes things directly in front of the player, pretty much.
maul=similar damage, range and cooldown. similar effects (gs 4 on ranger is a weaker net shot) rifle 5 is similar to swoop. and gs 5 is similar to rifle 4. overall they are similar weapons both in performance, but maul has a higher damage ceiling than blunderbuss without going full glass.

Even if you’re consciously aware that legendaries don’t really have any prestige attached to them, the initial impulse when you see someone using one is kinda like “Ah, this guy thinks he’s hot kitten, I’ll show him what’s what!”

They actually dont… first of all it doesnt add damage, second, its not gonna be used in any but 3 builds, that guard heal will be very rare compared to shelter and their signet, not as rare as our since its kitten, but still very rare.

@Lightsbane: While Norjena’s post is painful to read, he is correct. You are talking about burst damage, not DPS. He is talking about DPS. A weapon can have high burst damage (Warrior Rifle with Kill Shot) and have low DPS. If I do 10k damage once every 20 seconds, I have 500 DPS. If I do 1200 damage every 2 seconds, I have 600 DPS.
Neither is bad, they’re just better in different situations.
Now, I am not familiar enough with Warrior Rifle to say if it has higher or lower DPS than any other ranged weapon, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of that claim, but you were trying to make your point based off of burst and claiming it to be DPS when they are very much two different things.
i’m not actually. warrior’s rifle has both. volley hits harder(dps), plus it gets a one shot(burst). combining the statistics of both makes for higher damage per second. bleeds add to dps as well so, yep. any questions?

Thieves and Mesmers just got an advantage because of all these things (I dislike stealth the most) , BUT, if you spend more time duelling/battling these professions you can learn yourself what to do when they pop up and how you deal with em..
If you don’t want to get armor damage, go to spvp to learn the mechanics of the profession you fight against .. This is a big advantage, knowing what your enemy is capable of..

And DPS is Axe>Rifle, that´s what U talked about. Burst ok, Rifle has got 1 7 – 10 seconds cooldown. With a 1 3/4 second, easy to see animation. This is Burst, but the DPS of this weapon is bad, and rifle warrios are usually free kills.
Don´t talk about dps, when u mean burst. That´s a big and important diffrent. Try to see the class and her tools as a whole, don´t compare skill by skill. That´s close minded.
I said most times here. Axe AA is too weak and needs a buff, dps and/or utility (possibel torment or bleedings), and Axe 3 needs something like an explosion finisher.
Axe 2 is ok, possibel a few percent more dps, but for a range 2 1/2 channeld skill which is usable while moving, the dmg is ok.

Guardians got a red post when they asked for buffs on scepter. I don’t see why necros should be different.

I ran through Straits of Devastation last night with a group of about 8 people, trying to figure out how to start the Eye of Zhaitan event. It was actually quite fun, and I went places I’ve never really been before. We got to do some events that nobody does, kill some epic bosses, use some really cool environmental weapons, and confusing catacombs. It made me realize how FUN this zone actual can be when you are not alone and getting roflstomped by risen at every turn. There is so much to do, so many places to go, so many events. The only problem is that the events that contest waypoints respawn about every 10 minutes. I got tired of killing the same Risen Acolyte Leader just so people could wp to my group.
The problem is too many people guide their gaming experience based on rewards. If it takes too long to do, or doesn’t drop a chest, they won’t do it. Never mind the fun…who plays games for fun anyways. It’s all about VIRTUAL PROFIT!
Gotta say my aversion to Orr fits quite neatly into the opposite of your point. Rewards are better there (nicer drops for mats etc), but the place is not fun and is ugly to boot. That of course is my personal opinion and others may differ. I’d much rather have more places like Bloodtide coast, where it is bright and sunny.
well with Zhaitan dead, there’s no reason Orr can’t be rebuilt.
axe needs to be reworked into a melee weapon, as it will be the only way it will get a needed damage increase.

Why by hell can´´t i do 90k Rifle 4 with my warrior even fullbuffed? So sad….crappy rifle, should get a complete rework….i want GS or Axe DPS!

SBI sooooo many baddies. I just love fighting you guys. SBI bay last night was a bumper crop. I guess at some point you took it back, but while the WS/TUNE train was rolling it was nothing but a trail of tears from inner to outer gate. Only group even worthy of sharing the field with us was the idk 10-12 man abyss group we kept encountering in the bloodlust spots. You guys were pretty aggressive, and you caught half of us with our pants down one time, but we owned the rest of our encounters. Even with the baddie level I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a again SBI are fighters. As soon as the numbers get to be pretty even or your guys have more you come out and fight. No tower hugging, lots of siege on SBI BL but you guys came out and fought. The 10 of us must have had 30 of you at north camp after a good 25 minute pitched fight.You guys were sure as kitten gonna make sure we were all dead or gone. Coverage will win this match like every W3 match, wish i could get in on some of SBI’s prime time and maybe find more good players cause the PST/OCX crew on SBI BL last night was GARBAGE!!! I’ll have us there again tonight after 7PM PST msg. me in-game to prove me wrong we run 5-8 nightly.

2 things i’ve noticed coming from GoM:
1.sbi guild micromanagement seems to be nonexistent
2. when it exists, the only communication that exists is between the guild or teamspeak. team chat is often silent. these were not problems on Gate of Madness(what the problem was, was turnout. sbi does not have this issue.)

It does perform “similarly”. The problem is that it cannot be as strong as 100b because of the differences in the skill. Making it melee doesn’t make sense. It’d be a direct case of either Dagger > Axe, or Axe > Dagger, and either way one weapon invalidates the other in 95% of situations if you make that change.

Also gives sustain through LFNow, obviously 100b works perfectly for PvE because if you’re remotely smart about using it, you can get off perfect 100bs almost on CD. In this case, the larger damage output from it makes more sense. Also you pair that with the fact that warriors have stronger self (and party) buffing, and their already strong 100b gets even stronger.
Making Axe 2 higher damage to match 100b is not going to happen. It makes no sense balance wise. What they should do is give it one of the many ideas that people have put out here, but most of which come down to: Axe 2 needs to be reworked in functionality, and Axe 1 needs a slight buff.
this is my reasoning behind making our axe melee as well. it will do more damage by simple fact of mmo reasoning: in close, more risk/damage. instead of kiting though, axe 3 would work as a gap closer. perhaps rework axe 2 into a four-hit skill at melee range with the same amount of damage output as blurred frenzy.(blurred frenzy has the same amount of hits as 100b but far less damage, and a much faster cast time) if that happened to axe, i don’t believe anyone would complain, as ghastly claws would still retain the same skill name, function, and have a shorter cast time by a whole second probably. plus, if you don’t run focus, you have a lot more incentive to do so now. this would also make tankomancer incredibly fun and minionmancer more hilarious than it currently is. if they want to bring necromancer out of the condition purgatory it’s currently in i think this is a great way to do it.

This profession system is not R/P/S. The build mechanics have a great deal of R/P/S to them, but still there are no 100% hard counters as long as you can recognize strengths and weaknesses and game plan accordingly. Some matchups will always be harder than others, but I’ve never found one I simply couldn’t win through outplaying my opponent.

you guys do know our rifle auto has a 0.65 multiplier compared to a warrior’s 0.4 multiplier.
example; (using the lowest damage range 1035 and 2000 power with enemy medium armour 2200)
warrior:
1035 × 2000 × 0.4 / 2200
828000 /2200
= 376.36engineer:
1035 × 2000 × 0.65 /2200
1345500 / 2200
= 611.59after this if we take into account the fact that the warrior auto causes bleed and the engineer auto pierces the engineer auto still comes out on top. This is before introducing traits after which point the engineer auto pulls ahead by a large margin.
yet warrior’s does more damage anyway. i’d say a warrior with as much crit chance and damage as me could crit about 1k auto attacks. lets not forget that all of their skills are long ranged, do more damage, and on top of that they have a one shot with it.

problem with engineer: most people play like bomb kit is the only thing in existence, or that people don’t assume there are builds that don’t use kits at all and aren’t HGH. i run a high toughness, high vitality single kit build with plenty of self cleanses, my stacks of might amount to 0 unless someone blasts a fire field and can 1v3 usually. i don’t normally roam either. it’s too bad i don’t record my fights, people could get some serious laughs at how hilariously i’ve failed(using OC shot on the edge of a cliff) and how epically i’ve succeeded(fought a guardian for 30 minutes and won). the problem with engineer is that the people who try to know everything about the class by doing specifically pve or spvp really have a handicap that they don’t need to have. wvw does make you a better player.

At 3 seconds of stability every 10 seconds when traited and requiring no slot, FitG is far too powerful to be moved down a tier.
it is sad to see a statement like this so far into the game. I guess the ignorance of it still eludes some.
to actually take advantage of this stability uptime you would end up never using any of your lifeforce to mitigate damage and never using any DS skill with a cast time because you are just flashing in and out of DS for the buff.
the devs failed at a fundamental level when they decided not to provide us with the best access to stability to go along with their vision of a necro with kitten mobility.
If you only played a necro in wvw/pvp you would think CC is broken in this game.

I agree. I must disagree with those who ask for vigor as avoiding damage doesn’t suite Necro so well. But stability, for a “fight or die” profession feels only appropriate.

I am not of the mind that dagger 1 needs any cleave/damage changes. It is a workable weapon right now (needs small changes but not in that direction) so don’t fix what isn’t broken.
I had kind of assumingly I guess (probably because I was talking with ronpierce at the same time) thought it was cleave at the same time as the changes.
Here is the problem with axe that isn’t really addressed often enough: a massive identity crisis. Until you actually say “this is what axe is” you can never fix it. As it is right now, Axe 1 is a vulnerability stacking AA; a support skill. Axe 2 is a single target channeled “nuke”; a medium single target DPS skill. Axe 3 is a PBAoE cripple, boon strip, and retal for you; AoE support and tanking. Overall, axe is a 600 range, single target DPS, AoE control/support, power weapon.
That is why any damage condition I am against; why do we want to add more confusion to a confused weapon set. Same with gap closers and such, it is a ranged weapon with no current need or mechanics as that.
Turn it into an AoE DPS weapon with a little control support. Less utility than staff, but better damage.
Axe 1 – Now a chain. First attack is the current Axe 1, functions the same but cleaves, Axe 1 part 2 would be a small channeled attack, single targetAxe 1: Rending Claws – same mechanics as now, but with cleave
Axe 1 chain: channel for 1s, hitting three times for 1% LF per hit dealing similar damage as it does now (maybe cleaving?)Axe 2: A frontal cone attack, after a short cast (1/4s) ghastly axes rip through the ground moving fairly quickly (but a very fast opponent should be able to dodge) and dealing high damage, returning 5% LF per opponent hit – 10s CD
Alternate idea: same entire concept, a frontal cone that has a slight travel time and can deal very high damage (with appropriate investment) along with LF gain per hit. But change the looks, and give it a blind component
Axe 3: Unholy Feast
i’m liking this one the best. and it would put us on par with warrior axe, minus the ridiculous eviscerate. kitten, why not even give our axe a similar chain.
judging by nearly every addition(or removal), buff, or nerf to necromancer, it almost always buffs condimancers and nerfs power. i can’t be the only one noticing this.
dhuumfire was a huge buff to condition users, meanwhile power gets no real ranged dps weapon that would even make some sort of buff possible. so far i’m waiting to contribute any sort of real constructive(lol) criticism for when the addition of “new” weapons shows up.(i am almost positive we will be seeing aquatic weapons go universal and a greatsword, so i’m sorry if you don’t want gsword.)
point being, expect condition builds to benefit from the 12/10 patch, and power builds not to suffer but certainly not to benefit.
i don’t really like the look of them.
Putting yourself in melee range increases your risk, so you get more effective in exchange.
okay, now explain why warrior rifle does more damage than engineer rifle then.
my take on the replies is none of us are really confident or sure about what we might get out of the(any) future patch updates.
