Yes, I would have bought one, but I don’t need red. Still debating on whether or not I should just get it for the heck of it.
We’re always nice, we just ask that if you want to do some of the champs, wait for the train to get there and we can all do it. If you don’t wait, whatever, we’ll skip it. Play how you want and stop worrying about others.
If the timing for the Champs didn’t line up nicely like it does, we’d still have a train there.
And no one is doing the trains due to the 15th… that is just a slight nerf to the gold drop of the champs, it’s not going to affect the train at all because we don’t make money from the little tiny amount of coin we get from them in the first place.
If this train isn’t for you, there’s like 6+ other trains you could ride! I prefer the Queensdale Express simply because it’s pretty quick and waypoints are never contested.

Is it account bound? if yes then welcome to your new face.
Looks like Blood and Abyss/Midnight Fire
OMG I keep seeing this question. Unid dyes will always be sellable regardless if the were ‘refunded’ as people keep saying. Everyone seems to be hung up on the simple terminology of “After the 15th all dyes will be account bound” – this refers to when you USE them the COLOR will be account bound.
Once you identify a dye it will be a color dye, which will still be sellable, once you then USE that color dye it will be an account bound color in your wardrobe.
There are 3 different types of dye: Unidentified, Color variant, and Wardrobe color.
Unidentified and Color variant are sellable.
Wardrobe is account bound because you can’t undo this action.
If you’re looking for a Dev to confirm this, just wait till the 15th and it will be clear, it’s only 2 days. It would be stupid for all dyes to be account bound even after identifying them, there would be no purpose to them on the TP destroying a huge gold sink.
Wait, you want to dye a CRIMSON mask? Crimson is the COLOR of the mask and you want to make it a different color? If it were dyable it would be called Glowing Mask, but it is already a color, crimson. Wait a few months and you’ll get a green one, then an orange one, and then you’ll finally get the blue one everyone wants
It’s called marketing, they’ll show you one that’s really neat in a color a few people will like, then they’ll give you other colors until you finally get the color everyone wants and it’ll sell like hotcakes.
Like iPhone cases, you get white until they give you color choices, but they’re not going to be the ones you want until next year(but they wont tell you that) so you buy one now in a color you can deal with, then they bring new colors everyone asked for and they get sold out so fast they can’t deal with the demand and then stop cause a new iPhone is coming next month and the cases wont fit those. Rinse and Repeat
Longbows are too short, traditionally speaking they should be much larger than your person is, have you ever actually seen one? everything people know about bows is about shortbows, longbows are around 6-9 feet long, especially for a Norn, and the arrows are kitten near as long as I am tall! And yes, before you start talking, I do shoot bows, long and short, compound, recurve and single piece.
Shortbows are just fine, have you ever seen a crossbow, shortbows can be very very small, they’re denoted by their power capabilities of newer wood/metal compounds, not by their size. Shortbows can be less than a foot in size (1/3 meter for you outsiders) or the size of a smaller longbow.
I mean just look at how long that Longbow is compared to that poor little soldier in the first pic!
But seriously, the second one is what I’m talking about for ‘old ancient’ types of weapons like you see in mmo’s, it’s longer than she is tall, LONG bow.
And the third is what a bow looks like on an Asura!

You don’t pay enough taxes to the empire to have it rebuilt in a single month, it takes years to rebuild a city. I’m saddened by the idea that players can’t handle change, but that change was that they couldn’t stand in a little tiny area of a big city and do nothing all day long… Perhaps this is the wrong MMO for those people, perhaps something a little more static would be their speed.
After thinking for like 15 seconds, I thought to myself “why does a game need a central hub at all?” and the conclusion was that all cities in the real world have them, they’re called Malls and it’s a gathering place for teenagers and it’s why I don’t go to them anymore.
But what if the real world was a little more like GW2 where there were cities but only one of them was the central hub? It would be like Los Angeles being the central hub for the U.S. and people just loitered near random Starbucks all day — oh wait… that totally happens… nvm.
MMO’s don’t need central hubs, you just insist they do. My hub is a little place in Wayfarer’s with crafting stations. I rarely ever need to use any other services that only exist in one place like the Mystic Forge – what if Zommoros wasn’t the only Djinn? cause he isn’t. I remember killing many of them in GW1, Zommoros isn’t special, he’s just the only one that got captured alive is all – or whatever his lore says.
Every racial city should have a mystic forge, it doesn’t make sense that he is the only one that can do RNG crafting magic.

Someone make a minecraft of SAB please, I need my fix!!
Considering the fact that most confirmation windows and all other windows in the game look exactly the same (this is a design fail) it wouldn’t do any good as most players would just click whatever button made the transaction go through without care.
The other fail is the triple currency issue of this and other MMO’s (pennies-copper, dollars-silver, and in this case 100 dollars-gold). I’ve never seen an online store have 3 separate entry boxes for when your purchase exceeds 99 dollars. The real world only has 2 types of currency at any given time – coins and bills, these are separated on entry forms.
This is most likely where you made the costly mistake, putting the 4 in the first entry box instead of the second.
I don’t mind trading in 1500 dollars for a gold bar (or whatever the price is…) but I’m not going down to my local 7-11 and getting a slushie with it either.
I would much rather put 1500 silver in the box and have it convert it to 15 gold for me than make a mistake with a 3rd unconventional box for currency. And for that matter, why is there a copper box on the email form anyway, who is sending copper?
It depends on what your characters looked like in the first MMO you played. If you played WoW you probably call it a toon, whereas in GW1/2 it would be more appropriate to call it a character (char).
They’re called Video Game Characters in every game however so it is a player created novelty to call them toons instead, again going by character design to insinuate that the graphics weren’t a core feature of the game
SHHH!! don’t tell them that! Leave my ice bow alone!
Sorry, I see these so often that they’re not funny any more.
Why do people think Anet is hurting for money? are you kidding me? This is an MMO, they either get plenty of money and keep working or they don’t and shut down. It’s as simple as that. You people clearly have no idea how much Anet makes from your gem addiction and Anet will never tell you lol and that’s why you keep thinking they need more of your money.
yeah this is the problem with guilds, there is literally no security or procedures in place for this kind of thing.
Yeah, they don’t come from the champ bags, just straight up drop.
If you want hard mode, use level appropriate gear and strip your traits off.
And those Svanir roadblocks just outside the town are super weak in the first place, they are 2 hit for level appropriate newbies too.
Yeah and it’s only the Queensdale area that you get the bags that I’ve noticed, I’ve never seen one in any of the other starter zones. Stupid humans get all the goodies.
They need a Mystic Forge recipe for a consumable that boosts your magic find by 50% for like 30 minutes or an hour or something. Or gift of luck or something.
I love my necro but those downed skills are worthless. I’ve never once rallied with them.
My ele on the other hand rallies almost all the time.
1. ele
10. necro
I don’t play the rest of my characters often enough so I don’t know what they can do.
Aw, I thought you did it in real-time with actual players, still slightly creative though.
Asura: Pawns
Sylvari: Bishop
Norn Male: King
Norn Female: Queen
Charr: Knights
Human: Rooks
See what I did there with you Asura? yeah that’s right, I said it! Norn for life!
Running the QD train the last couple weeks, I noticed something that sucks with weapon swapping.
The train moves fast so after the fight you waypoint as quick as you can, but if your weapon swap is on cooldown (go from staff to d/d on necro for speed) and you use a waypoint, you’ll come out the other side not being able to weapon swap (it’s greyed out like you don’t have another weapon). I have to flash my F1 DS to get my weapon swap back.
This is only repeatable when your weapon swap goes on cooldown and you use a waypoint before it is ready. I can replicate this with 100% certainty.
Fraps free version limits to 30 second clips, I’m sure there will be other suggestions in here, maybe sign up for a Twitch account, I dunno.
AMD’s Raptr software (it’s kinda like steam or something) has Twitch integration.
I wish MMO’s had their own video recording software built in… It’s really inconvenient to have to find software that does what you want it to do when it should just be a default part of the gaming experience.
Then you have to test the software to see if it destroys your fps too much to actually make a video. Fraps will eat your fps.
You may actually find that some servers are lacking in people at certain times of the day, Maguuma is really empty after 10pm pacific time until about 8am pacific so I would say that Maguuma is a pacific timezone server which really sucks for me right now, I live on the pacific west coast but am a night owl so I’m wandering around by myself most times except when I’m running the Queensdale Express.
Note: these are PVE observations, if you do WvW or sPvP I don’t know if there’s a downtime at night for them.
I want the AI of guild wars 1. Everything had skills and some things you actually had to work as a team to do it, one slip up and it was a wipe condition – this part is tough with an open world ‘there is no team in I’ kinda game like this though.
I want ALL npc’s to be able to res every other npc and players, why can some but others can’t? It’s not like it’s a skill now, it’s default behavior for the majority of the population of Tyria…
I want NPC’s to prioritise MOBS instead of objects first. Nothing like a team you’re escorting beating an object while mobs with skills are beating them…
I want my MINIONS TO DO WHAT I TELL THEM! (I know it’s not an AI thing but still) If my necro had a useful elite I would scrap minions all together and never use them again, but at the moment I’m forced to use minions (trait gives me one I don’t want today) and the other traits aren’t super useful to me in pve.
I want EVERYTHING in the game that should be able to to be able to dodge and otherwise avoid what I’m doing to it – even though I hate it sooooooo much when something moves out of my AOE, it’s stupid that it just stands in it in the first place.
I understand the technical requirements for the AI requests but something needs to be improved in this area.
All stat combos for everything and I would love to see what you’re doing with Legendary and other items where I can change the stats at will (out of combat of course) for ALL items.
Can do it with the update for traits, why not the rest of my stuff? Hook us up with a truly custom experience.
Guild Wars series is like the Elder Scrolls series, you play it until you get bored, try other games, come back for a while, and repeat for years. The trick is to NOT UNINSTALL the game cause you’re just going to waste time downloading it again in a couple months.
As has been said, big things coming soon and living story season 2 starting up as well.
wtf super computer are you using to get fps that high? What is your Real fps in-game without all those tricks?
Turn off the command line, turn off v-sync and check the graphics properties in-game and let us know. Also try using your graphics card settings instead.
I had a little over 400 but I spent some on ascended trinkets and a bunch of dyes recently.
It’s because this month didn’t start with a living story so those achievement categories aren’t present.
So yes, you only need to complete 2 of the items in EITHER pve or pvp sections, not both for the reward.
The minion AI has been a problem since beta at least. As a necro fan and having played MM in gw1 as well, the AI for them in gw2 is just sad.
Golem just stands there twitching like it’s got ticks, refuses to do anything most of the time – Anet says it’s due to how they can’t find a path to the npc or something which to me says the level designer, not the AI people need to look at the terrain or perhaps the minion people need to put the minion ON TOP of the terrain and not a micrometer under it.
If warriors had minions you know it would have been fixed by now. Just replace the minion AI with mesmer clone AI, at least those can do their job properly most of the time.
I just tested this and it has an interesting affect. If you’re auto-running and you start pressing ffffffff as you approach the tree, you’ll stop, harvest one log, move a little and continue getting the rest. I can see how if you hit f just a little late you’d only get one log.
You can see the effect of this if you just stand there and harvest as well, after the first log the little graphical dialog pops up for a moment and then disappears and you start getting your other 2 logs. It’s during this moment between the first and second log during the switch in animation that you ‘lose aggro’ on your trees and start running instead of continuing to harvest.
I logged on today, checked for the new daily gem store deal and saw that I had more gems today than I had last time I logged on. I thought for a nanosecond that I got a refund on something then I thought ‘nah, they’d never do that’ and checked my wallet and found it to be correct.
What’s up Anet, you telling me to spend more gems than I have or something?
But seriously, this bug could have made me try to purchase something I couldn’t afford! It probably would have failed on the back-end and made me even more confused but whatever. This is a bug and it relates indirectly to real world money (not that I’ve ever spent cash on gems but still, someone could have!).
We sure can’t. GW2 is processor bound so unless you have a parallel processing cloud networked super computer with nearly zero latency you can just hang in there like the rest of us for some optimization and code shifting to the graphics card sometime in the lifetime of GW2
But seriously, we can’t help you if we don’t know what you’re willing to spend. And it’ll cost a pretty gold piece to make that happen and it still wont be guaranteed to get you anywhere near 60fps due to the above mentioned problem of cpu bounding.
GW1 is still going 8 years after release, some MMO’s are breaking 15 years. This is going to suck after a while just relying on the Living Story for your AP points after you’ve completed all the permanent ones and the daily/monthly.
I’m tired of limitations being placed on my play time and MY enjoyment. I don’t care about any of you and what you consider ‘fun’. I log on to do dailies and a couple world events and for living story releases. Occasionally for farming to maybe one day casually get an ascended something-or-other. I’m not an AP farmer but I’m 1/3 of the way to my daily max in 1.5 years(which is wrong since they introduced it long after release), have half of the permanent ones, and at least half the living story ones.
Everyone has this problem, Anet chose a poor color scheme for the cursor and we are punished for it.
If they would simply invert it against the background it would go a long way to correcting this problem.
This is also why nearly all mmo’s with dungeons have dragons too… It’s so cliche it’s expected.
GW1 they made us all stick figures, turned us into Commandos, and have done other fun stuff. If anything we’ll all be turned into Tengu or make us all shoot nyan cats or some other stupidly fun things. And besides, the update for the feature pack is the 15th, not the 1st. Super Adventure box will be coming on the 1st and maybe something for a joke like dyes randomly fall from the sky and splatter on the ground.
Use them ALL.
EVERY SINGLE DYE available in the game is ACCOUNT BOUND after the update, that includes EVERYTHING you have already unlocked on every character you have.
Every single character you have will have every single dye you have ever used.
Here is a plain English breakdown of the dye update. BOOKMARK THIS SITE. They take official information from the site and forums and facebook and twitter and instagram or whatever image hosting site they post random things to and make it easy for people to find.

If you have problems with relying on info from 3rd party trusted sites then here:
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/45889307-Dyes
1. All dyes are account bound from 4/15 onward.
2. If any of your characters has a dye, ALL of your characters have that dye.
3. If more than one of your characters has the SAME dye, ALL of your characters will have that dye AND you will get 1 additional Unidentified dye for EACH of your characters that has the exact same dye.
4. AFTER 4/15 all unidentified dyes and identified dyes that you receive will be ACCOUNT BOUND when you USE them and useable on ALL of your characters, see #1.
More on #3
Alpha has black dye and putrid stank dye.
Beta has black dye, purple dye and catnip dye.
Zeta has no dyes cause he’s cheap.
After 4/15 Alpha, Beta, and Zeta will have Black, Putrid Stank, Purple, and Catnip dyes.
You will ALSO receive 1 unidentified dye because Alpha and Beta both have a Black dye.
Now, if you identify that dye you just received and it is NOT A DUPLICATE of one you already have and you USE IT, it will become account bound and useable on Alpha, Beta, and Zeta.
If it is a duplicate of one you already have unlocked (another Black dye), you get to SELL IT on the Trading Post for gold/silver/copper.
Please sticky this… we still have another 21 days of this question popping up.

A tiny change in one of these areas of color:
Hue
Saturation
Lightness
And an appropriate new name!
Welcome to design
Everything is free in pvp, you ‘earn’ your stuff with time and unlocks. Do you even have a currency that can be traded somehow into gold/gems ?
Some things are separate, this is one of those things. PVE currently has to buy transmute gems to swap skins, PVP does not. This will not change.
All skins in the game. All = pvp + pve.
Since no one has made this topic:
So now my Norn can wear Asura and other race cultural armors?
Yes, and that’s why I wrote ‘assume’ all over the place. WE can ASSUME they will do this for US or they can keep prices higher for THEM.
Personally I would rather it be lower or the same as the BL key prices but they may increase the prices above the Trans Crystals due to the account wide concept so the rich players have a gold sink and the poor players can use real money.
Since the Transmutation Charges act like Transmutation Crystals that are currently on the Gem Store for:
5/200 — 10/360 — 25/800
and considering they are removing the Transmutation Stones & Crystals from the GS (it’s implied), we can also assume that the level of the skins in process doesn’t affect how many Transmutation Charges it takes, thus we can also assume that they will be cheaper than Transmutation Crystals (due to not being level dependent).
I fully expect there to be a sale on Transmutation Charges as soon as this goes live to capitalize on the instant gratification shopper syndrome
If these are the current for level 80 Transmutation Crystals
5/200 = 1000 for 25
10/360 = 900 for 25
25/800 = 800 for 25
Then these should be the Transmutation Charge prices
5/180 = 900 for 25
10/320 = 800 for 25
25/700 = 700 for 25
Both specific colors of dye and unidentified dyes will still be tradable and available on the Trading Post, and hue-specific dyes can still be crafted. The process for identifying unidentified dyes will remain the same.
Says in the Unidentified Drop Rate section
I’m loving this update already, especially this part:
If you already have the same dyes unlocked on multiple characters, when you log in on additional characters, you will receive one unidentified dye for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account.
Several dozen unids coming my way.
Cragstead is still there, you’re free to enter the instance any time you want. I go in there any time there is a daily that requires me to purchase things with karma, you can get booze in there for karma.

Yes, your login information is deleted upon closing out your browser, it is a function of the forum software Anet chose to use. You should be happy that this inconvenience is used to keep your login information for your game safer so you don’t lose it to some random piece of malware.
It does suck but whatever.
