So I take it part of the last update was supposed to be an optimization that went afoul because my graphics card has never used 99% of it’s power for gw2, it’s usually less than 60%. Now after this last fixer update it’s using 99% and I’m getting 20fps more than normal. I’ve never got 60FPS in this game, even staring straight at the ground, it’s usually at like 50fps when I do that, I saw it hit 82fps after the update.

I haven’t crashed yet either so hopefully this is the good one and I can say GOOD JOB ANET!

I just did some system monitoring on my end and gw2 now eats my graphics card for no performance increase since before the update, it’s also using around 40% of my 6 core (all of them) processor.

When it eats 100% of my graphics card it crashes to character select.

3 within the first 10 minutes, 2 10 minutes later. Haven’t been rolled back yet – still have my crash crafted ascended staff on me so I got that going for me.

On the left a traditionally sailed western boat with rectangular sails, on the right a traditionally sailed eastern boat with triangular sails.

All of the lanterns and ‘christmas’ lights, cylindrical decoration, hanging cloth, the massive amount of bamboo, the netting, and fish baskets at ground level, confetti, ceremonial light boats, kites, and our new Canthan trader and his friends all over the place are all indicative of travel to an eastern location. However, some of the Zepherite have been eastern since the beginning indicating that they just met and hadn’t absorbed the culture completely when they came to us.

What’s so special about it? Wiki has nothing and I’m pretty sure I wont find it on the TP either.

I was looking at the bandit bridge last night and I’ve got to say I’ve never noticed it before. Has it always been there?

Also, in the south/southwest portion of the zone, there is a rather significant pocket of chaos magic that will be familiar to anyone who’s visited the Thaumanova reactor…flickering lightning, various critters being ported in and out, etc. I know we have that pesky Inquest nearby messing about in the swamp but again, this is something I failed to noticed before.

Old news, or new development?

The pocket of Chaos Magic, bandit fort, and the bridge to nowhere have been in-game since beta as have all portals that lead to nowhere that can be found in the game everywhere. Why they haven’t used the ones nearest to Southsun, I have no idea as there is only 3/4 to less than half a zone width worth of space between the useable areas of both adjacent zones.

Anyway, I put my money on the bandit bridge to nowhere – I haven’t been able to break into that part of the zone yet so no screenshots of it from me.

This one? yeah it’s been there since the beginning, something to do with the source of corruption in that area or something.

you can’t, it’s just a simple word search. So even if you type out the entire thing you’re going to get a large list of things that have all the variations of anthing that can be included.

quoted for relevance. Again, you don’t own those crafting stations, the Master Crafter that sells you the stuff for crafting owns them and chooses to LEASE the station to you for a fee.

If they’d simply change the text to reflect this it would reduce the confusion some of you seem to have about it.

Deactive sounds like someone’s turning off a switch on the back of my head that makes it so I can’t use that discipline anymore.

Or better yet as a gold sink you could actually turn it into a lease arrangement so we pay a certain amount of money (scalable to current discipline level) to each crafting master each month and just allow us to activate ALL of them so I don’t have to waste my time swapping back and forth.

Right.. I just realized I read the date wrong… Oh well, that gives you enough time to get 6400 more of them!

I totally read it as June, now I’m totally bummed out that there isn’t an update today with new stuff… With so little stuff to do in the festival I’ve went back to world boss runs already. Another whole month and I could farm enough tokens to get all the things on that merchant but I’m bored now. Not enough Crystals to find, oh well.

It’s always intended until a bug fix is in place. But considering it ends tomorrow it goes on the list of things they don’t care to fix this time around.

Your account is probably being used for botting and you got lucky they didn’t change your password, you should probably do that now though.

I want the Branded armors and the dress the Emi and others wear (Emi is the human woman during the Boar event in Queensdale)

Would be nice if you toned down the particle effects of mortars too… I hit around 2 frames per second when they go off.

They’re both rare quality in the first place. Old one has a defensive infusion slot and no gem slot, new one has a gem slot and no defensive infusion slot.

First two are from Dredgehaunt Cliffs and the rest are from Brisban Wildlands (bottom left).
I was trying to find a way to get into the bandit fort down there that’s guarded by level 80 champions but I couldn’t get there.

It took 5? of us a half hour to kill it last night just for giggles cause even though you get an event credit, it doesn’t drop any loot It’s scaled up like crazy in a couple stats though — health + defense like those Pavilion bosses.

This happened on one that I was in, the Invulerability has a timer on it, if you let it run out the Centaur can die again. But yes, it’s a bug still.

The old one has a cheap defensive infusion on it, the stats on this one are better so I got another one to swap with.

Do some research into the mapping api, then you’ll get the highest resolution Anet provides.

We now have large open world populations in most maps, content needs to be (re)designed around this but scale properly to different size dynamics. I’m sure their looking over the metrics for the events they’ve recently redesigned and are working to better incorporate some of that into new/existing events over time.

AI needs a boost though, and not just ‘dodge out of aoe when present’, I want to FIGHT monsters, not just sit there and 1 them to death. Currently about the only one I ever have to watch out for is a poison spamming ranger monster or one that can toss torment on me in multiple stacks. And that pretty much only applies in the Pavilion right now so…

He needs to use those wings to ‘blowback’ all the players near him occasionally instead of just stomping a few when he lands. I don’t even remember what kind of attacks he’s supposed to have but that fight is just ripe for redesign now that it always has a zerg at its feet.

Hate me for this but I hope they remove the double damage spot at the corner of the chest spawn point too. (all dragons have this spot if you can get to it)

I don’t know about you but my computer (Windows 7) has this nifty feature where I can set more than one clock so when I click on the clock in the system tray I get to see TWO CLOCKS next to each other, one with my time and one with a different time.

But I don’t really care because nothing changed except what is considered ‘server time’ and now it’s all standardized to one time which is great! Everything still happens at the same time as it used to as far as I’m concerned and if I need to track something’s time then I use one of the super duper handy dandy timing apps/sites that are prevalent on the internet.

Perhaps it would be nice if gw2 would show both times (local and UTC) on the mini-map.

You realize the moment someone says where we’re all going to try and get there and then post screenshots right? Make your video with some of these places that other people can’t get to. You make pretty good compositions so explore around some of these and hook us up with another sweet video

Harathi hinterlands at Ulgoth, the area is rather large up top if you take care not to fall to your death with non-existent rocks from War King’s Greatcamp POI (Cloven Hoof Waypoint area) to Arcalion Waypoint.

Mount Maelstrom from Broken Arrow waypoint all the way around the left (west) outer edge with one stop off at the floor level at Gloomirk Outpost poi near Murkvale waypoint then you hit an impassible barrier near Magmatic Waypoint. There are additional points where you can ascend the sides too. As of this edit I have successfully traversed the entirety of Mount Maelstrom’s edge with the exception of a few very small sections. Felt so good to do that now for another zone!

A merchant(Evon) got a government supply deal and all the smaller merchants are going to be unemployed because of it.

The suggestions forum was an unruly place reserved for the intellectually challenged to beat their chests and display their kitten to prove why someone’s idea was poorly thought out.

It was also not easily perused through by the devs – mainly because of how pathetically unpractical this forum software is. I mean you can’t even search, there’s no way to tell at a glance when a thread was created on the board page, if there’s a +1 there should be a -1 why the bias?… Why would I care who the Last Poster was? there should be a date there and not last posted date, created date so we know if it’s relevant or not to the current state of the game.

Anyway, Anet said something like they shut it down cause it was too hard to manage and look through and it would be easier to just use the regular forums and put relevant suggestions in them instead.

God of Truth, preserved in secrets. Abaddon and Kormir are the only ones that could have theoretical known dimensions but they’re (demi)gods so it’s just subjective. The Avatars of the gods (skills in gw1) were only slightly taller than Norns/Charr today but again, the size of a god can’t be determined by mortal means.

Light has Embroidered (crafted), Incarnate (gem store), and there’s a lot of pants with an open skirt/dress type design. But I agree, we could use more pants.

In the real world almost all pants are cloth yet we just have some Hammer Pants…

Yeah there’s only 10 masters, I found 43 regular before an update that stopped lighting up the ones I didn’t already find.

Kill Everything! all those yellow ones probably have bonus experience on them – the longer they go unkilled the more bonus exp they have (up to 2 hours and I think double normal exp) so you can get up to 3x the exp from killing them, add your boosters onto the regular exp and you get even more (bonus exp doesn’t get boosted by consumables). Oh and some of them will respawn REALLY quickly, kill that one too, he’ll have bonus exp on him also cause he was in a spawn queue and should have normally been on the map but there were too many of him on that spawn point already!

Do as many dynamic events as you can, if it pops don’t skip it. Hit the world bosses if you’re in the zone when they come up and party up for it with some level 80’s so you get some loot.

Your story is always going to be a little ahead of you by the time you get there, you’ll have to wait or go with a friend or two if you want to do it early.

U.S. is experiencing the loss of our freedoms at a very high rate in the guise of safety and security – I don’t know if it’s working or not due to the lack of transparency in our government, they could be stopping terrorists left and right or there may not be any doing anything in the first place. I’m actually more terrified of the children than terrorists these days, I don’t want to go anywhere near a school, they have guns now and no control of their emotions!

Anyway, where does it stop? I would rather have it message me as I have already said earlier like Evon Gnashblade in chat or through Email. And yes, in bright yellow text the message popped up right in the middle of the screen for a few seconds as it was being placed into the chat box like the new build messages. But as has already been said, we get it through the forums, facebook, twitter, reddit, (insert other random sites here), and the GW2 launcher itself. Next they’ll be leaving messages on my phone, texting me, emailing me outside of the game, leaving me PM’s on the forum, and sending me snail mail!

If only there was an incentive to buy gems in the first place, perhaps a discount, scavenger hunt coupons for gems, find uber secret XX in-game for 400 gems, weekly something or other for gems. The more gems I have, the more gems I want but there’s little incentive to acquire more with my non-existent cash.

Gamification is what draws gamers into things they may or may not be interested in. If you make a game out of getting discounts on purchasing gems with real money and/or provide additional venues for getting gems, then maybe, just maybe we’ll take the bait and eat all the gems. The only problem is that you keep taking things away from the gem store; seasonal right… as if digital stuff is related at all to seasonal production lines, not to mention the fact that Tyria doesn’t seem to have seasons at all in the first place.

I don’t care about your ‘e-pride’, that’s something that is just for YOU and for the record, I don’t care about you either or your friends, family, neighbors, city, college, state, country. This is a game that I can play and develop MY character. You are just some ancillary character I meet along the way to MY goals. If this was OUR game then you would have a much more prominent role in MY part of it but from MY characters’ point of view YOU are just an NPC.
This is a game about collecting things now – see wardrobe for more information, therefore I see fit to collect ALL THE THINGS regardless of some NPC thinking he has the PRIDE of ownership over something that he thought was a limited offering. I’m happy for you that you find pride in THINGS and STUFF that you think makes you special but I don’t care about you and your pride, I care about being able to get ALL THE THINGS because now the ability to COLLECT ALL THE THINGS has been granted to me by the almighty creators!

Besides, in the real world, prestige items can be purchased and traded at will… so much for prestige.

Would be better if they were timely. The message only showed up many hours after the items were actually available.

Would also be better if the message appeared like it came from Evon Gnashblade to further evoke immersion.

Talk to the NPC’s, it’s probably not written in the cliffs somewhere so no point looking.

So there’s no event there that could contest the waypoint now so I guess they never removed the contestable flag for that waypoint. Would be nice if I could just go straight there without a stop off at some random waypoint in the city.

high population easy kill – centaurs, skritt, risen, dredge, eotm(will the booster work there?). Determine which area with a high population of easy to kill monsters/players yields the greatest exp and then pop your boosters and go to town.

You’ll have to do some math if you want to max out the effectiveness though.

Like the Kodan, aren’t the Zeph. a peaceful society averse to the mindless carnage the other races enjoy?

This is simply an update to the carry my stuff event from last year. It’s a collection event that you only get to do once – but since it doesn’t make sense it makes it kinda odd.

You’re taking the supplies up to the top level, this year (forget how it was last year) he thought to make it a game and turn you into a dolyak calf while you do it. If this is just a supply run then it doesn’t really make sense that you can only do it once.

You try to be a pirate and hold a diplomatic meeting with a culture that can change your entire future.

I’ve been playing in wayfarers since beta, the champion wolfmaster spawns every 5 minutes, not 8, 10, or 15. His icebrood wolves increase in number starting with 3. He makes a circuit half-circle path around Twinspur where he crosses the level line. He is 8, north of the town you are level 11, south of the town you are level 8. His wolves will attack Moa and ambient creatures.

There are a few people that have characters that sit there yes, but it’s by no means many. The people doing crafting usually run out and kill it as it spawns though. Due to the speed at which it respawns (minimum champion respawn time is 5 minutes) you will hit diminishing returns rather quickly if that’s all you do.

I’ve never seen enough people there to make his wolf pack turn even to veterans if that’s even possible but they do increase in number.

Pull on the corner, take a screenshot, check the resolution, repeat until valid…

MMO’s don’t lend themselves to controller support, if they did they would need to be designed slightly differently and that would take away from the default KB/Mouse users that outnumber controller users by a large margin.

Hate console ports that just lazily bind controller input to the keyboard and mouse or expect that it can be used just as well with a mouse on their controller interface…

Anyway, this is why third party support is there, for the PC players that use controllers or just haven’t gotten used to or refuse to adapt to using a KB/Mouse.

I don’t know any PC only MMO’s that support controllers by default.

The technical issue is that the camera is a physical object behind the player and the environment is a physical object – you’ve noticed this in every jumping puzzle ever and caves. Because they made it a physical object they can’t just turn on ghost mode and clip it through things – if you’ve ever found terrain that isn’t physical it doesn’t go transparent when it is between you and the camera. You are also a physical object even though when pressed up against a surface you will go transparent it doesn’t mean the camera can intersect your physical body – in fact it pivots wildly when it touches you.

“The developers have it in developer mode” This is the internet, no proof then it didn’t happen.

All that said, I would like it for screenshots as using it for combat would be unproductive.

Not sure if troll… with megaserver you shouldn’t ever find a map that’s empty anymore.

Your graphics card is factory overclocked, it should be stable but this may be an edge case where it just fails.
Also be sure that your power supply can actually handle your graphics card and all the rest of your stuff.

You got an achievement for falling on an ambient crab and killing it though lol
