you know why we dont have teamQ? because even they know it put them in a big advantage against none team/pug… they still find away to complain about Q times while dodging better team in Qs. just wait if ever ANET implemented a TeamQ only you will see floods of QQ thead about Q times and how none wants to play teamQ. SoloQ only the the way to go for league and give would be teams a automated tourney!

the way people keep referring to those stats, that they the one doing all the kitten and because of that everyone else sucks is why we cant have nice things like team MMR or individual MMR before match starts. im not gonna be surprise if ANET just removed all of it one day.
I dont really care if DH gets damage nerf, unlikely. but w/ your reasoning any class can 1 shot u/ kill u if u have no cd, low hp, or unaware. whats the next class your going to complain next if they happen to kill u or 1 shot u just because you got put in a situation where most players will die regardless.
the only regret is 2 duo team is still allowed vs all pugs. need pure soloQ like in LOL

Thanks for the replies! I understand, but it seems a bit circular let alone flimsy as a basis of a combat rating system. If I play against bronze and someone plays against plat, how do we know the plat is any good? His rating? But ahhh, his rating is also dependent on who he plays against, not his W/L ratio. So it’s basically whoever happens to get in plat, stays in plat, and vice versa.
Also, it still doesn’t make sense. If both of us are in silver 2, we should on average end up facing the same skilled opponents. BUT if over 100 games I have a much larger win % than my friend, whose win % is quite poor, how is it still possible to have a similar rating? Certainly they should be more divergent at that point.
And finally, if combat rating is a measure of your effectiveness or skill as a player, it should be based on how well you do objectively speaking, not relative to anyone else. Why isn’t it based on K/D ratio for instance?
just simply NO, just because you or your buddy started in plat or w/e division if you dont belong there or not at par w/ player skills you will experience massive lose streak and drop you to the division you belong. the W/L ratio of that will be very negative like 40% 20W-40L
he plays w/ or against better players and you dont. for example you can have a 40w-20L in bronze and a buddy of yours 40w-20L in plat.3
if u wanna carry play a class that really good in a 1v1 and can hold or escape a 2v1 scenario. only play support like ele if u have good enough dps roamers in ur team to support. so i suggest mesmer, druid, warrior. you can even use DH or engi.

-21 i think but thats after my placement games so my MMr still very volatile. according to anet.
top 250 should all at least be plat 1. but since we lack the incentive to play or go up in ranks this is to be expected.
we been asking for duels for so long. anet havent really listening.
this happens to me even during NA prime hours. i just log off and try next day. the MM is giving you easy wins, but if u unable to carry 1 silver guy it heavily punishes u.
ah yes the nostalgia trip into glory days of gw1 pvp. but gw1 pvp player such as me. its easy to forget the elitism in gw1 pvp like asking players certain ranks only and that u are required to /rank before joining. i used to rem. when i was in MATH guild and we farm rank points playin IWAY build.
Like it’s hard to get r4 or r5… all you needed was 10k balth to unlock a build if you were asked to play something. You wouldn’t want to duo queue with a bronze in GW2. ‘Elitism’ exist in every game, and rightfully so. Not everyone has the play for fun mentality at some point you actually want to win and that goes for pve as well.
If it’s such an issue make you own groups? of course not that would be blasphemy against our god king casuals and believe it or not the would-be group maker would prefer experienced players as well /gasp the revelations are real
seems like u got triggered by the word elitism. the problem w/ rank in gw1 is purely base in grinding. like i said i used to farm all the way to rank 10 just playing iway build. as a casual pvper in gw1 still manage to get tiger emote. what rank were u?

CTF = spirit watch (orb instead of a flag)
MOBA= stronghold (only has 2 lane lol )
GW1 pvp = foefire (defending/kill lord style)
CONQuest = well all of them. (good but gets boring when most maps are same w/ diff gimmick)
Gw2 if you actually look at it has a lot of game mode for pvp. that actual problem is its not done right. or should i say halfasses.

The community, at the beginning when I started now I have 400 hours (ONLY in PvP) but I still consider myself new until I hit the 2K hours in PvP I tho players with awesome weapons were veteran players that were good
Those “awesome weapons” come from PvE. Most of the glowly skins are from PvE, and even for the PvP legendary back item you’ll end up doing PvE since you can’t make money from PvP at a reasonable enough rate to buy the ingredients (other than clovers which you can get from reward tracks) for a Gift of Fortune.
Though it wasn’t exactly a thing I was adamant about, but it took me 3 seasons to make enough gold for the back piece lol.
OP, either you’re good or you’re not. So if you want to join a PvP guild then do it because they’ll accept you if you’re good. Worse case scenario they’ll talk about your build and make you run something more meta.
As for skins and eye candy, I’ve never even heard of a person throwing that out like it’s some type of means of skill measurement. It just doesn’t happen unless you’re playing with kids.
One last thing, don’t pay attention to end-of-game stats. There is no efficient way for Anet to measure individual performances. Not even in the slightest. You can brag about your top DPs but that’s all it is.
sadly, its a thing although rarely happen, i rem. rolling a new toon so its has no shinny skins and as i load inside the match i was targeted. you know ctrl click by someone and he said we have a newbie or noob cant recall what exactly.
100 games? I have 69 at the time of this writing. I’m making a concerted effort to take it easy. In past seasons I’ve topped 100 games in the first week.
That’s not even close to sufficient. As a result people can avoid playing and avoid risk. Hence our lack of population.
look what ANET did with decay change and numbers or required games is good improvement. give credit when its due. 100 games is a lot to A LOT of players including me. last season i played 400 games between 2 account because i wanted those ascended gear. now i will do what is required. 15 mins per game x 100 x Q times = it adds up.
answer is 2 mins. its a rare case that when someone dced for more than 2 mins they come back and still win. 1 player having lose mmr is better than 4 others, and ruining game for 9 players. i know its not your fault but just be considerate.

Guess I’ll do what the pros do; Take some days off to increase my decay. Is that really fair or ethical? No. Does it help with population issues? No. Is it responsible to the community? No.
I feel bad, but I had a goal of getting a 50% w/l this season and climbing out of Bronze. I was within sight of that goal.
Prior to my loss streak, I had just over 50% wins. I got punished heavily. so, I guess I game the system like everybody else. My perception is that ANET doesn’t care.
TLDR Here is the basic problem, ANET; The system punishes playing often. Therefore, smart players don’t play. This results in low population. That, in turn, leads to poor matches. The poor matches reduce population still further.

guys ANet didnt abandoned PvP yet. they just put it in maintenance mode. meaning it will no longer be improve just maintain.
i’ll one up you and ask ANET to stop placing plat players w/ silver. ANET need to have limit in how far down MMR looks for a team mate or opponent. it should be only 1 tier down so a plat 1 for example can only be team w/ t3 gold or plat 2.
not possible to play 5 man in ranked, did you by chance mean unranked? if you press the play button that’s unranked if you choose compete that’s rank! in rank games you can only play w/ 1 of your buddy.
i always decline instant Q pop.
I remember in WoW they even had 40vs40. I enjoyed that A LOT. That was a long time ago. What you guys think of implementing 10 vs 10 ?
we used to have 10v10 and it became a zergfest lol whoever try to defend a point just get rolled over.

Got my win10 game dvr working so I recorded a match earlier. This match ended around 4:45pm eastern time zone on 3/23/2017. I’ve had better matches as well as worse matches but I chose this video for two reasons:
- First – This is a very typical match for me. My standard match outcomes usually look very similar to this as well as my play.
- Second – Due to flow of enemies, I ended up staying far the entire match. This is actually good for the example this video was meant to display, concerning the discussion in this thread. Due to my positioning, it makes it very easy to compare my progress in 1v2s vs. the progress of my team in 4v3s and sometimes 4v2s. Very easy to track this match, in other words.

dunno why you getting match against lower mmr players than yours but i just wanna point out since i see you play symbolic DH, swap your off-hands. sword/focuss then scepter/shield (so you can push ele off point by shield 5 then shield 3 for easy decap) also focus 5 does explode so if youre at close range with your enemy they get damage and its a blast finisher. also avoid clicking your skills get some nice mmo mouse w/ lots of button and bind them.
try and craft ascended gear in pvp… its actually harder than it looks. you will need 500 crafting which is around 200g from 0-500 and 1 piece of pvp ascended gear will cost you 120g just getting the marks. pvers actually stopped playing pvp because fractal or raid will give you ascended much faster.

wait is this at Eu or NA? your at gold 3 and you only gain that much per win? something not right. you playing odd hours or something? because you are being force to fight lower MMr players. like way LOW. so if your team screwed up and you lose you get the big hit (SS of T3 gold mmr gains)

so i tried crafting the marks for pvp gear. it will cost me 90g per piece 0_0 as a pvper you have to finish byzantine chest X4 to get the gold to cover 1 piece of it.
