if you dont belong in what division youre in you will eventually get out of it. thats why helseth trying to prove that an ESL player who plays below his skill level getting out of bronze into platinum doesnt mean jack. i dont believe in mmr hell or w/e these kids call it. but if your just a casual of a lilttle above average players it still gonna be hard getting out of your said division. but i have to admit that these season MM is very questionable.
my only beef with season 5 is its horrible Match making. i shouldnt get massive win streak then massive lose streak if im in the division im suppose to be. people keep saying give it time wtf 1 more month and season over what else need to be seen at this point? they have 4 years! anet cant even split the duoQ equally between 2 teams. the massive rating gaps between players. my alt at freaking gold t2 playing against legendary 2000+ rating wtf anet smoking. since 1 pvp dev left already maybe they should all fired or let the rest of pvp dev leave anet. i have to problem playing against other class for if you really like pvp you will know the ups and downs of each class, how u react and fight them. lots of players are blinded for asking nerf for diff. class instead of asking for better MM hence better pvp experience. also DuoQ next season got to go. i cant even imagine how even horrible pvp with losing rating with ESL 5 man premade running around. its only half bad when every ESL players duoQ atm.
save all the headache and dont pvp these season. but its all up to you. MM is garbage atm.
NA pro players are ruining everyone’s enjoyment of season 5, all you see are these so called pro players duo Qing and stomping others w/ there alt accounts. ( not all of them are of course ) and whats sad is there is a video of them talking in TS about throwing matches. that’s match manipulation. its really sad because i always root for NA to win during every tourney even if i know most of them sucks and most likely would never win against EU. and yes i’m NA player in case you think i’m bias.
Off hours on NA seem to have barely anyone queuing. If they restricted the pip range to +-100 range I bet I could tell someone at home to turn on my computer, fire up gw start queuing and I’d still be in queue by the time I get home from work. They’d just have to up the max queue wait from 2 hours :^)
yes its during off peak hrs 9am pst /11am est. my Q times is around 4 mins. you saying that it will be 2 hrs long is just being absurd.
so i was playing with my alt account which has the rating of 1512 (gold t2) and i was playing with and against top 100 players what gives? thats a difference of 300 or 400 +rating. is this why we not allowed to see others MMr during the match? so we cant see how imbalance the matches are?

even if the OP estimated the active pvp players X3 it is still low. this season is proly the worst but we wont really know that because anet wont release numbers.
im also tired of white knighting anet pvp for too long, i tried to be positive but they manage to make it worst every season….
a guildie of mine got a placement in diamond because of 8-2 she never played pvp before. what this thing will do is thei people will Q up along with players who really belong in platinum and get dragged down by these players who accidentally got placement really high.

earlier everyone dced while my team is winning and i get a lose w/ dishonor. good system.
basicly on your point 3, anet wants us to win at least 2 games just to recover from losing 1 game. this is how dota and lol works. my biggest concern is MM, although its not bad i still see the big diff in exp players VS no so exp players. fought 2 duo and a random of top 20 players while i was team w/ people in top 60+ 2000MMr VS 1800MMr. also they need to split the 2 duo equally in both teams.
none in my team or opponent DCed still im missing 2 games. are the MMR the i should have gained in those to games not counted in the leaderboard?
I’m fairly certain all of my games were also 5v5s, although in at least one match, a player deliberately disconnected and reconnected in order to avoid the time it would take to be bled out off point.
yeah i stop playing im not sure to continue till this is fixed since i dont want any my wins not to get credited. but the moment u lose im sure ita already there recorded.

i played total of 10 games but in the leaderboard i have only 8 games played, im missing 2 of them also. and no i did not DC or anyone in my team left. can anet look into it.

this concerns me the most how fast does it decay? we also lose divisions? for someone like me who cant play every single day, also sometime i only able to play during weekend. this will definitely keep me away from season 5 and i know most casual players will probably will. even if we good enough to compete losing progress because IRL things to do, will hurt many players. any clarity on this?

I rem. seeing 3-4 DH per game during season 4 in legendary. and NO i dont think they are OP at all. most of them are really bad. they run to middle of point or teleport to you then spam traps. then they pop all blocks and invul. then maybe kite around till traps resets. removed stacking in pvp it will solve a lot of issue with balance.

learn to play a support and dps class so you and a buddy can adjust to your enemy/team comp.
only 2 class really use condi really well, chrono and reaper the rest are power. both of this class die really easy when focus.

I haven’t looked at the video and I won’t because it’s probably just another evade spam condi thief. It’s by far the cheapest build in the game, but it’s far from the best. It’s OP, but whatever counters it does have are extremely powerful against it. They have poor mobility, their dodge conditions are projectiles, though reflections don’t work because they’re still evading at the same time, so any projectile protecting skills will help. They are easily blocked and dodged, and a well timed interrupt or burst can make them run because they’re squishy against power damage. If you’re fighting alone and you can manage to get a well timed condi bomb against them, stop attacking and they’ll have nothing to evade to remove the condis. The build only has a few counters but those counters are abundant and powerful, which is why you’ll never see a top tier team running it without a real good reason, a reason which probably doesn’t exist.

While I’d love it myself, I think the concern is that people might use it for matchfixing to farm PvP rewards – there was a period in GW1 where there was a problem where a lot of players had a collusive agreement that the red team would resign, as that resulted in more wins in a given length of time overall than actually playing out the match.
I generally take that approach that if someone drops for a long enough period of time that it turns the match unwinnable, I start asking the other players in my team if they have any objection to AFKing it out.

The problem: PvP is generally not accessible to newcomers. As a result, population is quite low. This makes matchmaking difficult and tends to make queue times longer.
There have been a couple of attempted solutions;
Making one class noticeably stronger each patch round. I suspect this is partly meant to help newcomers.
In the stacked matches of s2 and s3, newcomers came in with an average or better mmr. If things worked well, this would mean that at least part of the matches were stacked in favor of the newcomers.
Sadly, both solutions are short circuited by the community. People bandwagon to the strong class, destroying it’s usefulness as a booster for newcomers. In s2 and s3, experienced players used the advantage of a new account to farm easy wins.
Proposed Solution;
Create a booster for new PAID accounts in pvp. This consumable booster would be strong enough to give a noticeable edge to newbies, giving them a taste of success. Since it would be for paid accounts, it would not feed into the culture of exploiting and farming by more experienced players.
-edit- Hand this booster out to all paid accounts with , say, less than 1000 games. (this would preclude both my main and alt accounts ) This would have the effect of drawing people in to pvp and giving them a couple of relatively successful matches. There ought to be a net gain in population.

first of all season 1 and season 2 has seen increase of people playing pvp. because of the influx of PVE players wanting to get the new shiny wing. (you should know youre 1 of them).
2nd the problem with longer Q times is not entirely on lower population. (yes ,spvp is the lowest population amongst gw2 game modes) but Q times are affected by so many factor. Matchmaking, time of day you play, and yes a small population. but can you blame them when most of us already achieved what league system has to offer after 2 seasons?
let me tell you about alt accounts i have one and they are consider paid accounts because like many players, who bought gw2 core account when it was just $10, and i used them to pvp and reach legendary. you just suggested that my account who btw has less than 1k games get a booster that will give me such an advantage? also making the spvp a pay to win?
good players regarding what accounts they use will always win against bad/new players, thats just how it works. youre main complain is w/ the MM. which is impossible to solve because there is NO code or algorithm that can compute how skilled the player really is.

just because you win against someone doesnt mean they are bad. maybe youre just a lil better than them. or they having a bad day. i was in a match when i defending a home point but i decided to type something to my team then a thief came and burst me while im not looking and died. then he type in chat noob. did that make him good and me a bad player? we won that match also.

so they complaining about the most noob build about DH 5 trap marauder? then why Anet looking at DH defenses? seems like they listening to wrong people again. is mace/shield, hammer bunker DH not viable kinda missed seeing those.
i figured most players complain about traps daze and damages, yet i see Anet looking at DH defenses and maybe healing next balance, meant will destroy the class main roll. if anyone rem. the guard meta back in the day.
which of the 2 build do people consider OP or broken? and why u think that is? i think DH is very easy to play but its far from OP and nerfing it is a bad idea. maybe change how some skills/trait work? (i main ele) incase u question my intention.

1. im mainly soloQ
2. creating premade is very enjoyable but like helseth said it ruins the fun of others. i been in both ends, created a premade and steamroll everyone and also fought a premade and no matter how hard i carry we just not organized enough to win. typing instruction while fending of players is really hard.
