as for abaddon – he tried to be back 250 years ago – he’s dead now.
so unless he somehow smuggled a hidden piece of it’s conciousness in the knowledge kormir absorbed [akin to how mordry tried to smuggle himself into trehearne when we were busy tearing his mind apart] he is not going back

Spoilers: Who are these people?

in Living World

Lord Trejgon.2809

I am wondering why people keep calling out “genocide” on lazarus case.

he is one entity of extinct race, with no hope to recreate the race in the first place, and only a desire to survive on his own to come back later and get into power again.

Shining Blade didn’t commit anything close to genocide on mursaats at any point – they killed 4 – that’s all – and actually player characters in Guild Wars: Prophecies have killed mroe mursaats than whole shining blade can ever hope for – and even then it is rather small number compared to the whole race because what have got whole the rest of the race was titans who were unleashed onto them – by the guy who thought he was destinied to unleash them and rule the world with them.

and actually mursaats themselves were actually actively comminting genocide on humans of kryta by slaughtering hundreds of them every year to keep the battieries keeping the titans out, charged.

but yeah we happened to kill the last one of them [shining blade could account for last 4 of them probably] let’s keep screaming “genocide”.

as for the perilisk points:
1. Anise happens to be there because she was trying to convince the priest to get his followers in line because balthazars worshippers looking for random fights were making trouble in the city – convenient to be happening at same point? possibly, but then anise is one of those persons who likes to actually pull out “random convenient” meetings

2. Shining Blade’s job is to know things – keeping track of who was last seen with which powerfull artifact is one of things you’d expect from them. and since he was carrying it aroudn last tiem he was seen there is no reason to suspect him to just dump it at “random” reliquary on his way out right? :P

3. why he have kept it with himself so long – well you don’t ditch powerfull artifacts on the corners – and while at that point he had no use of white mantle maybe he could need some extra manpower at a poitn – and what would be better way to get such than blackmailing a group of fanatics with a piece of their “god”?

4. leading up other aspects than the one in posession of balthazar – considerign how it abandons this one as soon as it gets “recovered” it would be bound to run out of “other” aspects at a point right?

5. even when not “bloodstone powered” a mursaat would pose a threat and a danger to efforts against the dragons – just like a lone human god is sidetracking us from the main issue of how to prevent dragons from eventually killing us all

6. the oath is to learn what shining blade was intending to do with lazarus aspects – and anise take it out as a good idea for the future case – we are not supposed to run errands for anise now – it is just for the sake of her being able to tell us [in a future] things without risking us blapering them around.

7. one thing that is obvious here is that balthasar went there specifically on his route to crystal desert to dump the artifact there – while pentagram itself was indeed convenient there is nothing to say if it wasn’t there for different purpose originally [which most likely was a case – but bashing writer is just simply easier I guess]

8. we do not have much choice at that point – aspects have happened to be in a proximity and the chances were that it could not be stopepd at that point – so why not take a chance to finally remove one possible enemy from the equasion once andfor all?

9. at no poitn eye of janthir have developped new abilities – from the very beginning it was powerfull magical entity which role was to see things – being able to show these things is not a far stretch and considering the fact that it have just witnessed the death of it’s last master it is not a much of stretch to assume it would firstly wait and see what the guy who killed it want to do – and since we were only interested in knowing where specific guy is, it didn’t filled the lack of a reason to exist – it decided to cease to – simple as that – who knows maybe if we told it thing like “serve me now” it would hang aroudn and be more usefull than one simple vision…..

yeah yeah I know – it is just much easier to bash the writers and assuem them being bad at writing story than to try to think to see if there isn’t a deeper explanation to the thing……

1) We’ll start in Divinity’s Reach- meeting with Anise, Jennah, Logan. This is why we became the members of the Shining Blade- we will be representing Queen in Crystal Desert and we are her personal guards- this is awesome!!

This will not be awesome, not everyone’s PC are human, I played through this last season on both my human guard and Charr warrior. I found the story in most episodes very unsatisfying on my Charr. The narrative is taking a step in the wrong direction and the writers NEED to remember that this is not Guild Wars 1 – Human is not the only race. There are many players, including myself, that does not want the story to cater to a single race.

well sylvari got their sylvari centric expansion, so I do not see any issue with next one being mroe human centric – and then one charr centric, norn centric, and asura centric….

as for the dragon in the trailer – I’d like to point out awkward similarities between both dragon postures in said trailer and the humanoid being we believe to be balthazar.

I don’t have pictures at hand to show the points on theselves so I’ll try my best in describing what I mean:

in the picture “en face” – compare horns to the helmet of the let’s-assume-it-is-balthy

on the show featuring full dragon and people “cherrishing” – look at it’s head – and compare the shape, colours and eye to the show we get when we zoom onto his “face” in the vision – I’d swear it’s the same head in both.

also now a thing – balthazar have absorbed recently alot of dragonic magic – from both primordus and jormag – with primordus sharing very similar area of magical spectrums as balthazar – what if, it did not left our little god over there unaffected – and what if all 3 shots were representing – balthazar himself?

[or he slaughtered soem smaller dragon and made his head into new helmet for himself – also possible]

Must you use a new jump mechanic every map?

in Living World

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

you were REQUIRED to unlock that skill to even access the map and advance the story, the only episode to do so.

except you were not.

myself I have got this one two days ago when I decided to wrap up ancient magic masteries before launch of season finale, and I was up to date with all the story steps so far – the only mastery from the track truelly “required” was counter magic for the first episode – after that everything was optional

Except you could not enter Bitterfrost Frontier without breaking down the ice barrier. You couldn’t break down the ice barrier without picking up a flame of Koda. You could not pick up a flame of Koda without investing the mastery points in that skill, and you could not do that without investing in the previous ones. I tried entering Bitterfrost Frontier without spending the points and it would not let me – it straight up told me I needed the skill to enter the map. Unless they changed that after the fact, which would be even more BS.

then explain me how it did happen that I not only got there but completed a full story arc and didn’t get koda’s flame mastery unlocked up until final days before finale release?
[the torch in front of the portal to the map didn’t requrie the mastery as far as I recall – the ones inside the map do]

I wish they would have just reused the oakheart’s essence. Killing a ley-line creature to pick up its organ can give you up to 5 “weapon” skills, but you only get a single use of any skill before you lose it.

First thing I tried was killing two creatures and picking up their organ to see if I can stack the skills. They didn’t.

Would be nice to be able to pick up a couple of organs and then start jumping.

would be nice indeed

Must you use a new jump mechanic every map?

in Living World

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

Is the new skill required for Ep VI?

nope.

from story perspective in LS3 still the only mastery that is actually required to progress the story is counter magic – everything after that is vaguely related to the plot, with a varying degree of usefullness within LS3 maps and/or outside of them.

also I’d like to point out that as far as “usuall” progression goes you also do not need anything but advanced gliding and bouncing mushrooms to be able to 100% L3 maps exploration [for whatever stuff you’d feel in need for that is awarded for these] and while there may be few mastery points requiring usage of more – if you are not going to invest in ancient magics mastery line – you will not need them anyway.

the only exception to the statement above is one specific vista in draconis mons – have spend alot of time myself to try to find a way up there not requiring usage of oakhearts reach mastery – and failed to find one so far – which does not mean it doesn’t exist – it just mean I couldn’t find it

as far as my testing goes the echo thingy spawns randomly when in combat [with fairly low spawn rate] and seems to spawn only on the sirens shore.

after getting into interaction with the thingie you get special ability which sticks until you use it or leave the map – needs testing how it interacts with counter magic ability.

looks fun, seems fun, lore behind it seems fun, but then imo it is to limited in comparision to previous things….

The voice in the end

in Living World

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

welp I’m not sure if I have read sea of sorrows, so I’d say last time I have seen Livia was in the custcene from EotN where she got her hands on scepter of orr.

for unlikely allies I think I’d agree with WoodenPotatoes that the only real “unlikely” ally for kryta would be orrian undead – palawa yoko could do, but would be less “unlikely” due to – well – human characters already allying with him in the past.

we know that scepter of orr – if still exist – had power to controll orrian undead

and now a little bit my personal theory thing – in the teaser we see a wraith but with green glow replaced with blue one [along the line of unlikely allies]

zhaitan had alot of green glow things.

energy ball in the scepter of orr is blue – quite close shade actually to that wraith thing.

theory – wraiths controlled by zhaitan had green glow, wraiths udner controll of the scepter – blue.

if thats true then we see over there quite an example of “unlikely ally” being in control of the owner of the long forgotten artifact – and last owner of it we know is – livia.

for the voice itself while it does not seem to be exacly same voice as in EotN cinematics, but it seems be “similar enought”

as for the human gods leaving tyria I think it refers more to the “second” exodus aka ending of the nightfall – and my first thought on one left behind being actually balthazar [based on contexts of previous episodes] and from his lines I’d say that if it’s him – he did not stay behind willingly.

Hate being forced to do achievements

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

I maxed out all the masteries in HOT just from doing HOT anyway before the living story stuff even came out.

I am sure a lot of people did too when it was still shinny, yet it still doesn’t dismiss the fact that it is a flawed system.

The majority of mastery points in HoT and base game are gained from achievements only, how many mastery points gained by Mastery insights 36.

That doesn’t make it flawed. Even mastery insights are an achievement. So 100% of the mastery points are based on achievements. They put enough easy stuff in there (strong boxes and insights) to get all the basic ones. If you’re decent at arcade type stuff there’s far more you can get easily.

and then even backed up from alot of mastery points being locked behind specific masteries [for example in verdant brink on launch you had quite a few mastery points locked behind itzel poison knowledge and nunoh lvl 4 mastery I think? – they have revamped most of them to be possible to complete with nothing more than basic gliding and bouncing mushrooms…. which were required to progress the storyline anyway]

PS. to that guy just below quoted post – mastery insights are achievements – they are listed in respective achievement tabs, and for all purposes and means are treated by a game engines as such – it ain’t rocket science really….

Lord Trejgon.2809

EDIT:

You’re forgetting about when we fought him after unveiling his illusion in the first instance.

I’d hardly call breakign that illusion as “soloing” anything as we have kas-jory, taimi, dragon minions and security golems aiding – and then once the ilusion itself is broken he just abandons it throws a speech grabs device and tell the henchmen to do the work for him and bails out anyway – which means no direct confrontation here either

so the statements of us suddenly soloing balthazar still do not hold any groudn really

I don’t know why you’re quoting me about the OP’s comment of “soloing a god”.

Because I never said we solo’d a god. In that instance you quoted me, I was correcting a person who claimed we never fought Balthazar directly. We certainly did, and we had three allies at first followed by an army of asura and golems.

I also stated, in earlier posts as well as the one you partially quoted, that Balthazar was no longer of god-like levels, as that is a plot point from start to finish.

well I quoted this because it was in chain of comments that seemed to sparkle of the statement that we soloed him with no effort – namely – as I was seeing it on the point of writign down that edit you were answering to a guy who have responed to the claim of us soloing balthazar like it was nothing with a claim that we didn’t even fought him directly – hence given the context I assumed you following that specific thread while trying to debunk the debunk of the claim – seems like assumption was not entirely correct

the directness of that encounter though may be questioned though – I have seen someone claiming that disguised balthasar never attacked the player himself – only enchanted mirrors, and while I recall him actually following my all the time I do not recall seeign much of factuall attackes aimed at me originating from him – the offspawned ilusions were spammign attacks all aroudn by I do not recall seeing him attacking directly even once during that part.

later on though once mirrors are repaired we do indeed attack him/his illusion directly and frankly there was way too much going on for me to keep track of which AoE was casted by whom really xD and honestly I think this would be closest to direct confrontation we got indeed – one could argue though on how fighting from under illusion was affecting combat capabilities of an god-like entity.

but after ilusion is dropped he does no longer direct any attack at us – apart from “you die first shadow” aimed at marjory – which she apparently survived despite of his intention toward her. this should be imo clear sign that he was not operating at his proper “power levels” so to speak indeed

thing I really don’t get in here is that apparently draining the dragon from energy hae put him back int ohibernation – at least taimi believes so – but all the earlier “research” rather implies that dragons go to sleep after devouring all the magic from the world – AND THEN “bleeds” it out when in sleep.

to reach as far as Eye of the North storyline – central transfer chamber was build up nearly ontop of the chamber where primordus was sleeping and the asura gave you explanation to that – they took the sleeping primordus for a sort of statue and to quote a guy “this is why we have build central transfer chamber here – this statue literaly bleeds magic” [quote may not be precise but the point stays the same]

in which case huge energy drain from both primordus and jormag should not put any of them back to their sleep – it would severly wound them and put them into actually more and hastened effort to eat up as much magic as they can to cover up for this sudden loss.

Dragons probably need magic to function just as much as we need energy (food) to function. Taking enough magic away (or whatever exactly happened with Taimi’s device) probably took too much magic away from Primordus to keep his body in an ‘awake’ state, needing hem to retreat to a ‘sleep’ state and letting his minions gather magic to restore him.

Also, while we usually only see the dragons in their relation to the balance of magic, I’m not so sure being ‘satiated’ and ‘hungry’ are actually the triggers for them ‘going to sleep’ and ‘waking up’.

well point still stands – when you base analysis of dragons behavioral patterns on pretty much every earlier lore mention of these aspects you get the idea that they are sponges that awakes when dry enought to soak up all magic from the world they can get and then go back to their nap – hence draining itself should not return them to their nap but instead either make them desperate to get more “food” asap or put them into gravely wounded state – unless we are shattering ourselves here over wording again and he didn’t get back to his “sleeping” state but to the state when he was awoken but inactive – in which case I say they should work little bit more on wording of things as afaik there are quite a few of people who have intepreted taimis paniced “primordus is active” as “primordus has awakened” while in all established lore before that point primordus awoke first of all the dragons – and thats why he was called primordus as well

I’m quite surprised to see no one here having even remotely similar interpretation of those dialoques and the “simulation” cut scene as I had :/

so to answer OPs question – as I understood the whole thing problem was that umadds modified device was not designed to “kill” the dragons in a direct way – but to taple into eternal alchemy, plot their energies against each other and make them cancel each other out – and as far as I understood the similation scene – but then in this case even taimi seems to interpret it differently – it is not the issue of dragons missing, but issue of two countering types of energy being forced into direct confrontation.

aka issue is not with killing dragons per se but with method chosen to kill these specific two – which would be comparable to tapping into universes very belly, grab matter that is somewhere there, grab antimatter that is also there but always away from the matter, and force them into each other in hope to remove both – which would end in shiny explosion that is likely to rip all of it away.

part of our chase after balthazar seems to be following assumption that he wants to use the device in the exact same way as taimi wanted – which also seems be untrue [you could say he have made himself a matter-antimatter reactor to power up himself and randomly dump it once his needs are satisfied]

thing I really don’t get in here is that apparently draining the dragon from energy hae put him back int ohibernation – at least taimi believes so – but all the earlier “research” rather implies that dragons go to sleep after devouring all the magic from the world – AND THEN “bleeds” it out when in sleep.

also as for elder dragons “replacements” – for the moment being I was quite kinda sure that aurene was meant in the glint’s great plan to replace all of them at once – but absorbing energy from all dragons while we are killing them – got kind of late for original share of zhaitan’s energy, but timed perfectly for a mordremoth snack [which may be also reason why primordus felt so eager to attack her as soon as protective shielding dropped to malfunction]

It gets better. Apparently, the fact that we barely took down a weakened human god in GW1 – Abaddon, doesn’t matter anymore. Screw that. Out heroes are capable of soloing Balthazar. Wonderful continuity.

except we are not soloing balthazar but his hounds while he is too busy draining dragons to care about us more than calling out the hounds and throw some threats when we kill them.

and we are not really soloing them either as we are creating of shoots of dragonic energies to corrupt those hounds for them to be even able to die in the first place….

wonderfull levels of paying attention to what is going on

EDIT:

You’re forgetting about when we fought him after unveiling his illusion in the first instance.

I’d hardly call breakign that illusion as “soloing” anything as we have kas-jory, taimi, dragon minions and security golems aiding – and then once the ilusion itself is broken he just abandons it throws a speech grabs device and tell the henchmen to do the work for him and bails out anyway – which means no direct confrontation here either

so the statements of us suddenly soloing balthazar still do not hold any groudn really

abaddon is as dead as it gets – he was slained, and all of his power and knowledge have been absorbed by another entity that have stepped up to take take his spot in the pantheon.

(Spoilers) So long Living story credability

in Living World

Lord Trejgon.2809

1) A god stopping the advancement of Primordus isnt divine intervention ? How about said god absorbing a bloodstone magic barrage that would have annihilated most of tyria (according to episode 1) ?

2) No where in the trope of Deus Ex Machina is it required for the ending to be remotely happy. Deus Ex Machina can quite literally be used for any purposes that change a per-ordained plot-point or story destination. In this case instead of having the two dragons energies nullify each other we have said god now intervening and absorbing the energy.

1) in the way the plot was already unfolding we would be able to deal with primordus by ourself without the gods intervention – actually mentioned intervention only complicated whole thing

as for bloodstone explosion – while indeed explosion being reversed at a point quite a bit of chunk of our backs have been saved – but then I do not recall anyone complaining when we thought the whole thing was doing of lazarus the dire….

2) so two dragons energies are nullifying each other in a way that makes eternal alchemy go kaboom – but the first thing that comes to mind to someone who was paying attention to what was going on throught the last few story establishments is that we do not need to even pit them against each other as long as we manage to kill them off throught other means – and let the Tarir do what it was designed to do – allowing our little cute baby dragon to absorb those energies and grow into good dragon of everythign that will make sure everything works good and nice in tyria

god intervening and absorbing huge chunks of those energies does not even remotely help, and we are yet to find out even why he decided to do so.

what sort of sickens me in this whole situation is that seemingly everyone who bothers to write in this forum does not pay even remotely enougth attention to actuall story unfolding only to then jump to bashing it because something didn’t play out the way they expected and nearly no one actually putting an effort to try to decipher writer’s intentions about meaning of all of this…..

*Spoiler: Episode 6 speculation

in Living World

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

am I really the only one here who still remembers that we have that dragon puppy in tarir a city probable designed to make it absorb energies of other dragons in order to create a good and protective super-dragon?

in which case to not destruct the whole tyria by slaining jormag and primordus we just need to ensure theitr energies does nto cancel out so aurene can absorb them?
[this thing was literaly first thing I’ve got to my mind when taimi started panicking on how canceling jormag and primordus with each other will kill everyone]

as for episode 6 – the most direct followup to current story would be investigating what happened with balthazar after omadds machine overload.

now as for ol’ good balthy:
the mirror – not sure if my memory serves well at this point but the kas remark about it was reference to old lore where even before abaddons little revolt lyssa have gifted balthasar with this mirror cause ya know they were sorta into each other.

main questions:
“Your home is a trivial concern”
since when one of tyrian gods cares so little about fate of his children?
“They abated me; dimmed my light…. But they will see me now.”
who exacly are “they”?

remark of no honor in war also seems troubling – coming from a guy who not so logn ago was all about honorable wars and such.

and here comes to things that some may have already forgot due to passing time
remember those temples in orr? the ones with corrupted avatars/priests fo gods being sort of big bosses?
I don’t remember which one it was but one of them had a line where he/she claims the 6 being devoured by “the dragon” – and based partly on this there was a common theory that gods fo tyria as purely magical entities are a pretty decent form of snack for elder dragons who feast on the magic -which would mean that either gods are dead so far or they cannot get too close to not risk being eaten.

so I can see here – two options that would make sense
1. “they” are elder dragons – the 6 have actively tried to oppose them and balthasar is the only survivor – his “campaign” is campaing of vengeance against dragons and the loss of other 5 gods is reason why he no longer believes in honorable wars – he is also so blinded by wish of vengeance that he cares no more about tyria

2. “they” are other gods – always willing to fight balthasar wanted to opose dragons openly – but the other 5 gods have realised such a combat being suicidal an also pretty bad for the fate of tyria – as consuming a god would be a nice power-up for the dragon – the conflict ultimately arose and other 5 gods have ultimately confronted against balthasar – and while they have defeated him and stripped him from the most of power – they failed to properly contain him. then the “campaign” is a vendetta against other gods with his shift in attitude originating in a feel of being betrayed – so he plotted his way into a possibility to soak dragonic energy in order to get enougth power to be able to confront the other gods and win this time.

in any case the balthasar’s lines are implying that he have succeeded with his goal at least partially and quite likely survived.

the journey to crystal desert and throught the desolation to elona may be sparkled by needs for actuall investigation of what happened with the 6 – as they had that whole ascention temple in crystal desert, and also in vabbi if memory serves was located one quite big temple of lyssa – and from all the temples of the 6 this one is mostl likely to be intact and/or free of dragonic corruption – no better place to look for direct contact with lyssa if contact with them as a whole in ascention temple failed….

[Theory Crafting] Character going crazy!

Lord Trejgon.2809

shadowstone? what shadowstone?

EDIT:
jokes aside:

OK, I’ve been reading up on the many many theories floating around on these forums about the screams, the anomalies, etc. Man people have many different theories, but there is one thing I have not seen mentioned at all, not even once. If you remember correctly, Scarlet saw the Eternal Alchemy, and went crazy shortly afterward, right? Well, we saw the Eternal Alchemy in LS2. What if that is ALSO apart of it the screams, the anomalies, which we are(supposedly) now cured from, and anything else yall can think of, it’s just happening at a slower pace then it did with Scarlet.
Just another theory to throw out there, let me know what yall think.

if I recall dialogue lines of tht instance correctly, while machine was designed for user ot see eternal alchemy the only thin scarlet have seen in her vision was that sylvari were meant as servants of dragons and since then she acted to awaken [or kickstart?] her master the madness was just from the conflict of her previous character [rebelious supersmart with “no one will tell me what to do” with enforced on her “truth” of her being a minion of something bigger – at least thats how I understood it

as for screams – I thought it was a bug……..
I mean – for my character those screams occured only on ember bay map an actually they’ve stopped to occur recently – and I haven’t done any side quests from “current events” as I wasn’t bothered with stuff started wit “something weird is happening there go and see what can be there” – call me lazy but when it comes to story stuff I am not doing anything more than what I am being told to do…. – if I’ve got ingame letter from “someone” telling me about weird stuff happening there with hint that I should investigate I totally would check it out – as for a line in patch notes? not so really

so my lore knowledge is limited to official last episodes of living story with addition of “I’m seeing things and those things are connected with some side quest I haven’t bothered with yet”

Coming in to ranger, I was disappointed to see the axe being a mostly thrown weapon (offhand 5 being the exception). Not to mention something as big as a battleaxe being thrown over and over with unlimited ammunition was kind of jarring .

I find it more “jarring” that ranger is able to throw that battleaxe just as far as his shortbow can fire it’s arrows….

wasn’t the whole concept of bows made to fire off those projectlies further? [and with more energy while at it]

Pets QoL requests

in Ranger

Posted by: Lord Trejgon.2809

Lord Trejgon.2809

Also what would be nice is a way to manually set pet location, like “Guard!” used to work. That way, you can ensure your pet stays safe in boss phases with a lot of AoE, so that you can be sure to benefit from the pet being alive. Maybe make the time during which the pet is travelling to the area invulnerable? Would resolve the absence of dodging for pets.

Oh and I’d really like to have some way of putting sigils on pets. Either their own sigils (one on every paw?) or just make them benefit from the Ranger’s sigils.

like adding a trait that would make glyphs you activate also activate on your pet?
[like the heal glyph heals around you and your pet?]

or do you mean baseline signets? [I was quite sure the later ones were wrokign for the pet too though]

Staff feels clunky

Lord Trejgon.2809

I haven’t seen any issues with the 4 grount targeting showign wrong stuff, neither I had any issues with 3 not going to any places recently

Do I really need to say this? Just because YOU don’t experience these issues doesn’t mean other people don’t. What’s point of anyone listing things that DO work as intended for them? Not trying to be a kitten but it’s like – “Hey guys! Look at all the problems I’m NOT having!”. Not very useful.

DO I really need to say you this?

when you claim you have an issue with something, people can be constructively saying that they do not have issue with it, because it emphasises that issue is not a 100% global thing but something not working for specific people for specific reason and bradening the information on “for whom it does work and for whom it does not” will make pinpointing the reason easier

on the other hand
should path of scars [axe ofhand] ground targeting also use circle or have it got at some point that “linear” kind of ground targeting scheme?

answer for that question could throw more information on the nature of bug into the pot

EDIT:

I don’t find it clunky, but I do find it less useful. I find I am using 1, then an occasional 2, with a 4 if a breakbar is up. That’s it. Never use 3 and 5 rarely.
However, I don’t use my staff in WvW, so perhaps those would be more useful there.
For the most part, it’s just a disappointing weapon.

You’re not using 3? Hmm. I use it a lot to blast a field.

personally I use 3 as a mobility tool with recently also in WvW using it for more heals to my squadmates – it has been a surprise for me to find out after so long that it is also a blast combo finisher….

as fro 5th skill – in PvE I use it extremely rarely – in most cases I forget I have it in 75% of cases when it could be usefull and throw it ocasionally in front of a mob that makes one of those telegraphes projectile spikes [bristlebacks anyone? :P]

although on WvW I was trying to use it more ofen in blob engagements at the phase of blobs grouping and firing ranged attacks on themselves – which does not always do its job because of some guardian reflective walls being put in front of it…..

as for usefullness – it’s support weapon – not everyone will find it as usefull as DPS-y weapon or even CC weapon….

Why no Risen?

Bloodstones where specifically made so the dragons couldn’t eat them.

Dragons can’t access the Magic in the Bloodstones. They ( or it, since it was one Bloodstone at first ) were made to seal Magic off from the Elder Dragons.

Parroting each other doesn’t make either of you correct. The bloodstone did not “lock away” magic (and that may not even be possible as wards would be magical in nature and they consume magic), they hid away uncorrupted magic. As far as game sources give us, they can access the magic and is why Primordus moved from the Central Transfer Chamber all the way to the Fire Islands.

No, it is quite directly stated that he moved there because it was basically in the middle of places where two elder dragons died and by this closest best place to soak up the leftover magic from their corpses

paying attention to dialogue lines in the new living story episodes is quite a good thing to do actually :P

[and in current season of living story there is exacly one blood stone mentioned and it is the one that was blown out in previous season – the bloodstone from ring of fire islands has not been mentioned even once]

also by the every piece of lore we have on bloodsone themselves is that the ywere created to get the magic out of peoples hand and that they could be used to soak up “energy” in form of folks souls

we can also assume that they may be somehow connected as slaughterfest on maguuma bloodstone was somehow powering up the bareer that was plugged to bloodstone on ring of fire islands…..

also curiously one may ask for a reason why mordemoth was not interested in maguuma bloodstone at all while in search of magical artifacts to eat he reached literally on the other side of tyria….

The entire scene was poorly done from the moment Lazarus appeared.
Our character thinks he can threaten a magical being who already absorbed a bloodstone is ridiculous. Then we get Marjory acting as if she can manipulate or even “keep an eye” on such a powerful entity is garbage writing.

welp remind me is magical being that absorbed one bloodstone really more powerfull than elder dragon?

which is sort of raw magical force of nature?

we killed two of those and currently are actively working on the third [and maybe forth]

the whole mention of not being able to “just easilly put him down if he turns on us” means that we would need to focus resources we have on him to do so and that sort of things is difficult when you are in the middle of battle against much more powerfull elder dragon

also counter magic for the win every trick he could throw at us in straight up combat we can reflect back onto him

I’d shoot we are going to combo-double-kill primordus and jormag then face the overbeefed krallk and I always forget about deep sea dragon…..

I rather believe that Elder Dragons are enemies to each others, and we will take advantage from it, than combo-double-kill’em … :- )

I didn’t like the model of baby dragon, it was too cute. When you put it side by side to Teq/Jormag and other dragons/elders it doesn’t look like dragon from GW :- (
Had hope it will be like Shatterer as they are from same (Glint’s child) ‘familly’, aint they ?

jormag goign against primordus does not exclude us to exp[loit it and then kill them both with one combo-ed strike :P

as for comparisions – neither tequatl, nor claw of jormag should be taken into comparision here because they are both totally different things [even when you compare these two between themselves]

but if you take a look at glint in GW1, Glint’s puppy from challenge mission in GW! and then shatterer you will notice similarities

when this one grows up I expect her to be somewhat similar to shatterer with obvious change of colour… and of course there has to be resemblance to her mother
