Now I got my first disconnet.. in SAB.. after loads of skill lag, being hit by the final boss invisibly.. lots of fun. This is time-gated material I can’t complete. I totally didn’t want some of the limited time weapon skins.
Anyway, hope I did this right:
I just followed your instructions and I got: ‘unable to resolve target system name ip’ Your instructions wrong then?
And may its not them; maybe its you;
right, that’s why more and more people are suddenly complaining.. here and on map chats.
People get irritated when they feel serious issues are being ignored.
Anyway, I very much appreciate that you’ve acknowledged these problems. It really helps to know that they’re not being ignored. Thank you.
I’m not disconnecting but I was getting severe lag tonight. 5 seconds from the moment I hit my weapon swap button until the weapons actually swapped. Other times hitting my number one skill and watching the skill just flash for 10 seconds until it finally triggered. Apparently getting attacked by an invisible mob.. when it was damage that was just now getting through some 10-20seconds later. (edit: even trying to sell stuff to vendors or travel to WP.. lag. ) My speed tests are fine so this can’t be on my side.
For a game that requires immediate response to avoid some incoming damage if you don’t want to die, this is unacceptable.

Warning there might be some sarcasm in my post. :P
You know what I find totally fun? I totally enjoy never being able to get on my main server. It’s also super fun to see multiple languages in chat meaning everyone’s not understanding each other. I find it totally fun to not be able to play with any of my friends. It’s also amazing that I have to rely on complete strangers for important roles like the turrets.
The best part is reading chat with people saying ‘OMG kittening NOOBS’ ‘what are you doing?’ etc, etc.
Fun changes indeed!
If this group will be going for some other attemps, I’d love to try to come along.
This is why I think it’s a bit funny when ANet talks about commanders helping organise during Taco (pretty sure they did…) as the ability to have 100g and buy an item does not bestow actual leadership qualities on the person now wearing that blue dorito.
Since when has an RP server = bad players?
How did allies win second world war in 1945 ? Did they all speak English ?
Just ask yourself
And it was not a game mate
Oh you mean a select few who could speak English coordinated with each other and then gave orders in their native language to the people they were in charge of?
They didn’t mentioned they’d changed the Fire Shaman in the patch notes, but he’s had a tweak as well. I’m not sure if it’s all phases, but at least in the last phase when there’s embers and vet imps up, it seems you have to kill the embers asap or otherwise the fire elemental just spawns more and heals to full.
How is Meteorlogicus bugged?
You can see photos and explanation in this thread but then the amount of complaint threads in the post I’ve linked:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Meteorlogicus-Visual-Bug/first#post2818497
I’m not going to say they’ve overdone it yet, though it’s quite easy to lean that way when a group only gets 5% health off
I think there is perhaps too much emphasis on the turrets, with needed to keep his buff down so he doesn’t spawn a wall and purging the poison. If you get a few clueless people on them or outright trolls, these few people can really cause havoc with the event.
And the lag doesn’t help. :P
1/4 farming the champions,
I thought they said the champs didn’t drop any loot. I guess people didn’t get this message.
So nothing in the patch notes about any legendary. The “update” you did two weeks ago bugged Meteorlogicus. Please at least acknowledge all the problems with many legendaries now!
Getting lives is easy,
250 takes 30 minutes.
You find this grindy?
You might be nuts!(Long version: W1 run takes 30 minutes top, yield 7 BB, 3 continue coins and 500+ baubles, translating in 48 CC, 288 lives. Infinite CC and grind are far from mandatory.)
But wants weapon skins.
Anyway, still am playing.
Still am having fun.
But, farming nerf bad.
Rewards cost too much.
But, jumping still fun!
Now for actual sentences :P
I hope you read this Josh, but I don’t think the reason that people aren’t playing this incarnation of SAB as much is completely due to what SAB is like. Whenever you asked to see how many people were playing, I hope you had a good idea of what the entire game’s population has been doing? I can only gauge from my own little corner of GW2, but around the 2nd week of the Scarlet invasions is when I know I needed to start taking days off from the game… and I wasn’t the only one. Quite frankly the zergy content from the Pavillion onward burned some people out. Not to mention the pace of the Living Story and the rush to complete all its APs. I think in general a fair few people were already tired out before SAB World 2 hit. I know a few people who aren’t playing SAB, but it’s because they’re entirely burned out with GW2.
No, you cannot always get out through dodging. Didn’t work for me.
But good to know why it happened now (though it shouldn’t be!) I know what to avoid in the future.
Believe me.. I was jumping and dodging around everywhere. Just had to start over again. At least I didn’t have to rekill all the assassins again… And I’d be right kittened off if that happened in trib mode! How horrible!
I’m never jumping on that log ever again if I can help it. Hope it’s not necessary for trib mode :P
Yep, we very much need a way to suicide when stuck due to the game bugging out.
So this happened….
ONE bauble and boss kill away from getting my bauble achievement in zone 2 and I glitch into the gong log. I can see the last bauble I need but I can’t get out. Tried digging up bunnies but they won’t engage even though I can hit them.
Needless to say, I’m a wee bit irritated atm.
This stuff started happening to me too since the initial SAB patch. Others on Mumble were complaining about skill lag in sPvP, then when I went to WvW later that night, I experienced it for the first time too. It wasn’t just skill lag either. You’d go to attack a Dolyak, used the sword leap skill on warrior and would leap to somewhere else… because apparently that’s really where the dolyak was.
Then whilst playing SAB, the game won’t recognise where I’m truly at or I’ll suddenly take random damage in zone 3.. which I guess is damage from earlier, finally ticking on me.
I’ve also witnessed the Melandru event timer take a while to complete.
You guys can say it’s all on our end, but it’s a bit curious that suddenly lots of people are having problems from around the world since a recent update… ones that didn’t have problems before. I know what bad fps lag is like and this isn’kitten
All other weapon types aren’t there though. Take another look.
Lol, thank you for the laugh. :P
Man they really borked some of the legendaries. At least that’s a funny bug I suppose. :P
The lag started for me today. Really frustrating.
I missed very, very few until the Scarlet invasion. Burn out finally got to me then. Now I’m lucky if I get half of the week’s dailies.
A couple of options are reducing the length of unnecessarily long fractals (dredge) and modifying the possible sequence of randomly selected fractals so you don’t get the longest and most difficult ones all on the same run.
Thank God. Always loved getting the Colossus/Dredge/Grawl Shaman.. and through out those not getting a single rare drop or even a core at the end. Revisiting the rewards system would be handy too. It’s a bit backwards someone can walk away with much less after an hour of fractals when you compare what one can get with an hour of dungeoning.
That is ridiculous. Josh is the precedent that EVERYONE at Anet SHOULD be aiming for and should want to aim for.
This. I’m sorry but whoever is wanting him to stop is simply making a really bad decision. You know all the times so many of you red names ignore problems or give quick canned answers? Yeah.. that tends to irritate gamers. We like being informed. Information tends to prevent more problems and angst occurring. Josh’s communication managed to turn the situation around. You guys need more people to interact with the community like he does.
Another bug: you can see the white daytime clouds glitching in and out at night in the stormy ones. Honestly given what the nighttime stowed glow looks like, it looks like the daytime stowed glow is occurring at night at the same time as well, instead of the day.
Can we get a little recognition that the team is working at fixing these bugs? It’s a very high profile item that takes a long time to make
This x 1000.
Could we please at least get an acknowledgement about the inconsistent behaviour of this weapon. Please Mr. Davis? Silence tends to frustrate your customers (Josh Foreman’s interaction with the community was amazing and really headed off problems escalating.)
This weapon took those of us who have it a lot of hours of work and lots of money to get it and frankly it’s not acceptable for legendaries in general to be buggy.

It does mean that Meteorlogicus wont switch from day to night without a load screen or something because it was in day mode until i relogged then it turned to night.
Yep I’ve experienced this as well. It will switch from night to day without a loading screen I think (though I’m not positive about that.)
Yes it is a bug. I get more ruined stuff on my warrior than my necro. Why? Because of traited Shake it Off (will remove corruptions for you) and Last Stand (activates stability if dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned.) If either one of these is triggered whilst harvesting a node on warrior, it 100% results in a ruined piece of material.
Yes, sometimes you can get things ruined from damage. But that rarely happens for me. On necro or warrior if those two traits have triggered recently, I can have 3 mobs wailing on me but walk away with every harvest. But if my warrior shouts “Shake it Off!”? Bam,…. ruined node.
I generally kill everything on my warrior to prevent this from happening. But I can’t kill Temple Statues and their effects, now can I?
With a full explanation like this it does sound like a bug, be more clear about what you mean. Both so other posters know what you’re talking about and so devs know the problem you’re experiencing in full detail.
I don’t know how to be any more clear about it. On my warrior, if traits that cause an action like Shake It Off or Last Stand trigger, they guarantee a ruined node, every time. It has nothing to do with damage. If it did, I’d have ruined nodes all the time on my necro as she harvests in Orr with mobs attacking her all the time. Warrior is fine being attacked too, as long as I’m sure those traits won’t be triggering in the meantime.
And I already sent a bug report with these details several months ago….
With further testing, I could not get the glow trail in daytime mode using simple unequip and equip method. When I tried to relog the weapon went back to nighttime mode. Seems meteorlogicus can’t tell what time of day it is. This is at 3:49pm eastern so at 12:49 pacific, which should most definitely be daytime.
I’ve never seen the trail during the day time.. only at night when first entering an area.
And the day/night thing has to do with your character’s surroundings… not the real world time.
I sent in a bug report on this a while ago. It is seriously annoying.. and it’s a bit annoying you guys aren’t aware of it. Really? :/ Makes me wonder how much attention is paid to those reports.
This is not a bug at all, if when harvesting materials you take a certain amount of dmg it ruins the harvested material. Stop and kill the mobs next time and enjoy your non-ruined materials, or use a dmg reduction CD whatever works for you.

I’d really love it if we could get some dev recognition regarding the current state of this weapon.. to know what things are WAI or not.
I think people are not really letting the gravity of the Human situation sink in here; and that’s darn-near extinction.
That and with the war ending not so long ago, I think it’s far, far too soon for humans and charr to be running around as chummy as they do. It doesn’t make sense imho.
I greatly prefer playing humanoid characters.. so no beasts, funky coloured dark elves, dwarves or hobbits. So that’s why I went for a human first, then Norn.. and then the rest are mainly story APs and cultural armor APs. :P
I didn’t play GW1 but I’ve started reading Ghosts of Ascalon and it’s enlightened me to what the Charr were like. This:
In GW we seen them destroy the human kingdom and kill woman, children and elderly. Gwen’s story showed us they had human torture camps. They helped resurrect the titans that could have ended all intelligent life. They held humans for nearly a decade kept barely alive in small cages. They performed ritualistic human sacrifices.
They were bad guys. All of them. Then Pyre comes along and says “uhh yeah, our bad.” And we are just supposed to say “nah bro it’s cool”?
… this is why I have a hard time playing the charr I have just to get the story APs. It’s incredibly hard to see him as any type of hero.
Use the whip to permastun the very first one. No more will come.
Later on it’s highly recommended to get the nunchucks from one of the secret shops. Makes fighting them a bit less painful.
Hopefully with more practice, they’ll get easier. They have for me.. definitely gotta strafe a lot. The only time they make me rage a bit is when I have 3 attacking me in a narrow area. Highly annoying. ^^
And doh.. never thought of deflecting the stars. Thanks for the tip!

Did the Tribulation/World 2 nerf ruin the content? No. But the reason why some of us are reacting strongly toward it is because it sets a scary precident.
There is no shortage of easy/casual/light/fun whatever you want to call it, cotent in guild wars 2. But why the people that can’t complete the one piece of challenging content out there begrudge those of us who want it that challenging is beyond me.
Yeah, because they totally listened to all the Gauntlet/Liadri QQ and nerfed that.
Oh wait…
This situation really is different. Bugs and latency /= difficulty.
And again, people had issues with NORMAL mode, not Tribulation. NORMAL mode should still be for the majority of people, not for a small percentage of hardcores. I say that as someone who does appreciate a challenge, have been in harcore raidgroups, etc. I really enjoyed the Gauntlet and in the end, Liadri as well. Felt great to beat her. I had my favoured MMO before GW2 become completely dumbed down, to the point I couldn’t stand to play it anymore as it was so boring, so I get where you’re coming from. But normal modes, whether they be SAB or dungeons, raids, they need to present the average person a challenge, not just the hardcore. That’s why Josh made Tribulation mode. If a few bits of Tribulation mode had to be changed because of issues with the engine, that’s unfortunate, but I don’t agree with those issues being left in just because a few like enjoy latency and bugs to increase their difficulty.

The infinite token is just a more efficient alternative to farming 80 hours of coins. Again, not hard.
It’s still a crutch. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to keep trying and trying and trying back to back, perfecting the jumps.

I waited to run normal mode (just ran infantile to see things) until the patch you were working on came out as I wanted to avoid any unnecessary frustrations with bugs. I’ve finished 2-1 and am working through 2-2. I’m having loads of fun! The flower change was such a good changed (experienced them being temperamental before the patch.) I think this is spot on difficulty for normal mode.
Well done Jokittenhanks for your hard work and willingness to communicate with the community.
So this was moved to the suggestions forum?
Does this suggest that these aren’t bugs and the way the weapon is currently functioning is really WAI?
Would be really, really lovely if we could know.
Can verify that me and four others running around tonight were experiencing a fair amount of skill lag. Also things not appearing where they truely were like dolyaks.
I am a necro and really like the way meteorologicus is now.I have no problem with its new colors.
People are complaining about the purple but want a half purple trail back…Some people really don’t know what they want indeed…
So you like that the stowed daytime glow was removed (yet it still glows at night.. big discrepancy there, dontcha think?) and the trail removed?
I play a necro and I know exactly what I want thank you very much. I want those two things returned.
Well sure they do. I dunno where you live but dark clouds rolling in and a massive thunderstorm occurring wasn’t some rare thing where I grew up in the spring and summer.
Now do they fit with the day time aesthetics of the weapon? No. :P

Yeah, I was too flippant in my response to that. Having read every post on this thread I understand what the real issue is. Personally I love long epic slogs. Long movies, long songs, long levels. I felt like I was going the extra mile making these levels so huge. I spent SO many all-nighters crafting these levels… and then I’m told it’s too much. Hahaha…. oh… …
I just wanted to say thanks so much for interacting as much as you have with the community. It’s gotta be hard reading some of this. So often in some other MMOs, when things take a negative turn, the devs and community managers go into hiding which actually make the situation worse. So what you’re doing is awesome.
The first time I did that puzzle there were no lazers or golems to kill so I was a bit surprised the 2nd time I went back. Perhaps this happens if someone recently cleared it just before you got there?
Otherwise.. there’s a panel you can active the golems with.. just hang back and range them. Super easy

I just went into W1Z1 to get refreshed with SAB and noticed we just have 1 extra life before it’s game over (this is on a character I didn’t get all the previous unlocks on… annoyingly I did that on my Norn.. wtb account bount item unlocks plz! :P) Was this always like this?
Great pictures, thank you so much for that. Shame the clouds are so dark on the footfalls, because i’ve never seen this weapon as gloomy and dark. Saying that though, the footfalls are so unique and different to any other weapon. They may be odd but im glad they ain’t the slightly generic circles that footfalls normally are. Beautiful weapon, congrats on owning one. I’m so close to mine, i can’t wait ;p
Glad to be of help! I did have to purposefully go to a snowy area, otherwise the clouds can be harder to see.
Best of luck to getting yours!

What about all the achievements tied to the gauntlet? That wasnt for everyone either… im surprised people didnt complain this hard with that.
Did you completely ignore the forums when the gauntlet came out? This is an absolute serious question as there was LOOOOOOAAADS of complaining.
