Same problem for me. Some are unlocked, but I’m missing seven skins being unlocked that I definitely have.
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

I’d be happy with this compromise as well.
You say the base game is an free bonus for new players. Well, you need to offer a free bonus to your veteran playerbase as well, as without them, you’d have no reason to make an expansion in the first place.
The Revenant is part of the expansion. We shouldn’t have to pay extra to experience that part of the expansion. In GW1, when it came out with new professions, extra character slots were part of the package for those campaigns. Other MMOs do the same: new class in an expansion? Here, have an extra character slot.
Add in a character slot at no extra charge and I’ll be happy to spend €45.
Nice catch! Yes, there is a new piece that goes with the rebuilding. I wonder if it’s the only one?
Hurray! My ears immediately perked up when it started playing. It’s always exciting to get new music. The quality you’ve been producing has been incredibly enjoyable. My only beef with this track is that it’s far too short! I wanted it to keep going.
I sat in LA for over 30 minutes so I could hear it again and didn’t notice anything else new so I assume more is coming in the future.
Thanks again for your answer and for putting it up on Soundcloud. Now I can listen to it over and over.
Am I imagining things, or is there a new music track that plays in LA now? Has some choir and piano and a small bit of it reminds me slightly of some of the music in the Edward Scissorhands OST. It’s really gorgeous. So is it just me or did anyone hear it too.. or Mr. Diemer confirm?
Unfortunately sometimes this is a risk you take when using a 3rd party tunneling service.
Seriously, what are people supposed to do when the game is literally uplayable? WTFast offered me a solution for over half a year (until the lag finally went away) and I’m really grateful for that since no one (your company or my ISP) would lift a finger to do anything about the horrid routing through a Frankfurt Level 3 data center.
Ya’ll need to get out more often if this is the biggest problem in your lives right now.
Please quote where someone said this was their biggest problem in their life.
Oh.. they didn’t.
One of the fractal dailys is to do a single fractal (1 shard) of any difficulty. You can find games designed to specifically meet the daily and run the fastest fractal (swamp). With a good team you will finish it in 10 minutes or so.
Or you can even solo the Ascalon fractal on lvl 1.
I fractal pug 50 almost daily.
To be fair, I’ve found the people you get in pugs at higher levels to be much better as a whole. It’s usually the lower levels that can go badly sometimes given they’re more accessible.
This is why I will only fight Claw on my warrior. It got too annoying on my necro. With shake if off and balanced stance, I’ve enough to deal with the annoyances.
Also at the beginning I wait off on the side until he’s done his 4 fears.
It’s a LEGENDARY weapon … work for it and stop whining like a kitten
Buying it off the TP…. so LEGENDARY!!!11

LS was an epic story line? I guess you’re speaking for you own view of it.
It most certainly is when I compare it to other MMOs epic storyline (the overarching series of quests and instances throughout the world to tell the story). I didn’t feel much like repeating those in other games either.
And that investment firm has been predicting an expansion each year since GW2 was released. I’d not trust them in the slightest.

Why not? Every other company seems to have no problems whatsoever not releasing anything for half a year.
Very big difference to most of those other companies. New content releases with them often come with content that has great replayability (dungeons or raids for example) that last a heck of a lot longer than the LS which boils down to an epic story line.
Guys, they weren’t trying to be “naysayers”. They were just helping you suppress your expectations so you could be even more excited when the news confirmed your suspicions, and then you could come back on the forums and tell them off in triumphant fashion.
So really, they were on your side the whole time while trying to increase your excitement over the expansion, setting themselves up to be “bad guys” that you would defeat.
But do get hype responsibly is all I’ll say.
Nah, there were a few who were stating that it was fact that we weren’t getting one.
he was not related to gw2 at all, but just a random interviewer guy of the pax south venue.
He wasn’t a random interviewer. That was Man vs Game (http://en-gb.twitch.tv/manvsgame) who is a very popular Twitch streamer.
But yeah, he was incredibly awkward. It would have been better if someone who actually had a clue about GW2 did the interview.
Very tempting to go find the posts of people who were absolutely sure that ANet said no expansion and link them here and then link to the expansion website. :P
Actually, using the term “game balance” when talking about PvE is kind of chuckle worthy (as the PvE side of the game has very few “difficult” parts).
I don’t think it’s very chuckle worthy when you consider things like the state of necromancers in PvE vs sPvP.
I’m getting extra RNG added in regarding bugs or DCs. 5 runs: fail, bugged, DC, win, DC. Both DC’s whilst the 3rd champ is being killed.
I just need to rage about the DCs. Being DCed after spending an hour in SW, and the 3rd champ of the new boss is about to defeated just.. seriously.. many expletives…
Same thing happened. Again. This is so, so demoralising.
I just need to rage about the DCs. Being DCed after spending an hour in SW, and the 3rd champ of the new boss is about to defeated just.. seriously.. many expletives…
Just experienced this as well. The bottom lane vine was reinforced which meant the devourer could never break it down.
To go through all the time getting to a breach.. then have this boss fight bug.. just bleh.
Sound isn’t there when I try to review them at the warmaster in Camp Resolve either.
I didn’t appear to have any sound on the 1st cut scene and on the second, it was so low I couldn’t hear anything anyway.
My download seems to have stalled as I’m downloading between 0-3KB/sec.
I do not recall being able to do the Scavanger hunt last year for one.
True, we’ve not gotten to speak to 3 of the NPCs before. But all that took less than 5 minutes each day up to the JPs, which are NOT new.
Nor do I remember having a reward track in sPvP for Wintersday stuff.
You’re really stretching. All the pvp you’ve done to progress that track is most certainly not new.
Nor do I remember a rather large amount of rewards that I could get this year.
Er, wat? What large amount of rewards? Seriously!
Claiming there was NOTHING new is blatant lying.
Yep, there was some new stuff. A few new NPCs, new sigils/runes (that are just so valuable! /sarcasm), a new tonic and a new bell.
But saying there was loads to do is also blatant lying.
I also put my mouse cursor in the middle so I split the ‘keys’ (as in piano keys) into 4 and 4.
I pay no attention to the colours either. To do so is simply making it overly hard.
(also, don’t rebind keys. There’s a 2nd column on the keybinding options, use that for secondary bindings as that allows you to keep the bindings you currently have as well.)
Bell Choire Ensemble – Sometimes when you enter, the notes do not heal you even when played correctly. Furthermore, if you somehow survive the song and are still playing, you get no score or reward for it because it didn’t register your notes. You are forced to exit the map and try again.
As Zaxares said, you don’t need to exit the map. Just use the skill that’s where your elite skill usually it. It takes you off the stage but you still stay in the map. Join the next song, no more bug.
Double Loading Screen – If you walk through the portal to enter the instance, when you leave you are ported back inside immediately.
Talk to the NPC next to the portal instead of using the portal.
(note, I’m not excusing any bugs, but giving advice regarding how to work around them.)
And what happens when people have everything because the rare skins are all easier to obtain?
It’s been a couple days since I read the article but I don’t seem to recall things being easy to obtain was the point. It was more about diversity of methods to obtain things, not just mostly, grind gold to what you want.
Sure there are some gamers out there who’d like things handed do them. But a point that’s been made over, and over, and over, and ooooooooooooooooooover ad nauseam is that many of us want more interesting and diverse methods to earn the cool stuff. We want it to be meaningful. We don’t want to just go out and grind gold to get our Shiny Sword of Shinies. We want an epic quest or scavenger hunt or a challenging instance or raid.
But nah, when people object to loot acquisition in GW2 because it’s a meaningless, boring gold grind that favors TP day traders (which further devalues [emotionally/subjectively] rarer stuff since people can just flip to earn money,) it’s easier to not really read what they write, jump to conclusions and assume they all are lazy and just want to earn things through little effort.
Still an opinion that does not give a clue to what to be done or how to do it. An opinion made just to make someone angry with that opinion and explain another opinion (in other words, fishing for an argument = Trolling).
You’re choosing to let it make you angry. Stating one left the game over something and doesn’t find ‘x’ fun, is not fishing for an argument anymore than someone saying they love the game and find ‘x’ fun is.
Honestly, this thread could be considered trolling if we want to use your broad definitions….
Players who trolls the thread with a comment to a new player with ’ You won’t find it fun, I left long time ago becouse I didn’t like what they did with the trait system’.
That’s not trolling. That’s an opinion you don’t agree with.
In any case, there was already a thread about this at some point, regarding only allowing active players to post on the forums. Gaile mentioned how it was considered. I believe she said it really couldn’t be implemented. With this game having no sub and allowing to people to come and go as they pleased, she’s completely right. So this thread has no point sadly as the topic at hand has already been dealt with.
If someone is actually legitimately trolling (the stuff you’re complaining about isn’t), then report them. Otherwise, ignore opinions you don’t agree with.
naiasonod, all of your posts in this thread are flat out brilliant. I wish I could +1 them multiple times and I really hope the right people at ANet read them.
-When you run down a hill and die from falling damage.
Today? Man, it was brutal. It wasn’t that I was overwhelmed, it was the gimmicks and cheddar that killed me. Which wasn’t fun at all. I suppose I could watch some videos and read some guides to get past the gimmicks . . . but I just wasn’t into it.
What gimmicks? I’m fractal level 50, do fractals nearly every day and have yet to ever feel this way.
And they’re not supposed to be soloed. People only do that for personal challenges.
You’re boring, seems so lol. At least try to create a consensus-wise correct title…
It’s pretty apparent English is not the OP’s native language. There’s no need to judge his grammar.
a lot of people are saying that its fixed now that bltc is back up, but i’m still unable to sell/list smth, the lists do load this time but when i try to sell it just says “error”. Anyone has this too?
Yes, I cannot sell anything either. I get a red “error” box.
Happening to me and my guildies as well.
Anyone find it ironic how the “play what I want” folks cry when their checklist gets nerfed?
No, because when your number of choices are lessened, you are less able to play as you want.
Please list for me the activities you’re no longer able to do because of the patch.
That’s actually quite easy to answer. Let’s say player Bob only has 45 minutes or so to play each day. Before the patch he could go anywhere in the world, have nodes to gather, mobs/players to put conditions on, mobs’/players’ attacks to dodge, events to complete etc. So Bob could do whatever he liked, Bob could have an enjoyable 45 minute gaming session.
Post patch, Bob has to use most of that time going to specific places if he’d like to complete the daily. After racing around metrica province hoping to score a hit on some mobs before the other 20 people kill the low level mobs, searching for gathering nodes in another zone.. and oh.. 2 fractal dailies!? Okay.. gotta find something else to fill in that last daily completion. Well, there’s the majority of Bob’s gaming session done and poor Bob didn’t get to do what he’d normally do (no dungeons or a few world bosses for example) and didn’t have that satisfying of a time in GW2 today.
Hypothetical but completely realistic situation for those gamers with less time to log in. (This isn’t my situation, but I’m able to have empathy for those who are in such a situation.)
What you’d be asking for is basically a reward for playing the game such as rewarding everyone who plays for 30 minutes.
What? This makes no sense. Viewing a vista, doing 4 events, and gathering x things will take pretty much the same time no matter where it’s done. Or I could potentially make the daily longer and harder for myself by doing a fractals 50 instead of a level 10. Why do those doing level 10 get rewarded for doing easier content? Why must those with a higher level be required to nerf their rewards and spend time doing a lower, easier and more boring level? But for the majority of the dailies, again, the biggest difference is subjective, as the ones with more choice (ie they can be completed anywhere in Tyria) are completed organically, are enjoyable and not as forced.
One of the goals of the revamp is to encourage players to try different game modes and activities. If all the game modes have a bunch of easy stuff to complete, people just default to the easy stuff. In the current setup, there’s 2 easy, 2 time consuming dailies in each mode, which means you can stick to your own game mode if you like and complete the dailies but take longer, or you can explore a different game mode and finish faster. Choice.
Ugh, this keeps getting parroted, so I’ll repeat the reply others have given several times. The game is nearly two and a half years old. A lot of players have already tried everything. Personally I have a couple map completions, a few legendaries, have tried everything.. literally been there and done that. I and many people have already explored and we don’t need to be lead around by the nose. Doing so is just irritating and entirely unhelpful and is backfiring.
And you keep calling the old dailies mundane and easy. How are the current ones not easy and mundane? You’re contradicting yourself. Viewing A vista, singular vista in the world is just as easy as viewing a vista in Ascalon. The only difference is subjective and how the task makes the player feel. That’s why many of us want that choice, to go where we like in the world, yet still in the end exerting the same amount of effort (effort means the actual actions taken to complete said activity.) The choice makes the journey subjectively more enjoyable.
Seriously, why are you so against keeping the current system of the rewards (3 dailies, each with their own small rewards, 3 total = 10AP) yet adding back in the broad daily categories or expanding the new ones to be more broad (gather x things, view a vista, complete 4 events, defeat a world boss, complete a fractal, etc.)? How would anything at all change for you? Oh..they wouldn’t. It doesn’t concern you in the least. You’d go on with your dailies as normal and those of us who’d like more freedom would get it. Everyone wins. Your arguments are literally pointless.
I’m talking about it being required for the Wintersday achievement. Specifically, the Snowball fight which was cited as example of counterpoint. Again, that makes his point moot since the snowball fight was required for the Wintersday (overall) achievement. I remember this, specifically, because I despised it and the requirement to not only win, but carry a present back to base at least X-amount of times and stopping a gift-carrier also X-amount of times. (Gift Stopper)
But it wasn’t required. I just checked. I didn’t step foot into the pvp snowball fight at all the second year because I don’t find it fun. Same as how I skip Lunatic Inquisition or the Dragon Ball game during Dragon Bash.
Also, I saw you complaining about today’s dailies regarding fractals. Talk about irony. I’ll quote you regarding that to play devil’s advocate. “Point of fact is, none of this is required to begin with. If you choose not to do them, you’re not punished for it. And if you do them, you get something of a reward. It’s that simple.”
Your point is moot. Last year, they were required.
Nope. Last year, doing the Wintersday dailies counted towards advancing your meta. This meant people could skip some of the other achievements they didn’t like.
Meh, I’d had a couple lag free weeks.. patch.. suddenly.. lag.
I guess that’s the same issue regarding the shoulders never being visible either.
But that really sucks. :/
It’s like you guys aren’t even trying. This is from March of last year. Another voice, outside their president, confirms:
No Guild Wars II expansions are currently in development, game director Colin Johanson explained to IGN, noting this may not always be the case.
“Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future,” Johanson said. “We don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/no-guild-wars-ii-expansions-in-development/1100-6404829/
This is like watching you guys lose it because someone told you Santa Claus doesn’t exist. Seriously, show us quotes or proof of an expansion in the works and near release for 2015.
Otherwise, you’re kidding yourselves.
I dunno. It seems you’re the one not trying or actually really reading the quotes you’re posting.
You’re trying to act as if the quotes you’re posting are definitive “proof” that there will never be an expansion. I’m not going to reread this entire thread again, but I don’t recall anyone trying to offer any proof that there will be an expansion. They just know that anything’s possible since ANet has never completely ruled out an expansion.
My apologies, but speculation and ‘reading between the lines’ isn’t proof nor evidence to a counter-argument.
I’ve provided proof their president said the opposite of what you’re hoping to hear. If anyone would like to provide proof for the opposite argument, I’m all ears.
Otherwise, all you guys have got is wishful thinking.
No you didn’t. That quote you posted did not say ‘never’.
I like the new dailies. You guys made an awesome job. they feel more rewarding and actually make me wanna play instead of doing 5 tedious things i hate like on the old system. keep the good work.
Wat? How was gathering anything anywhere, killing anything anywhere, removing conditions anywhere tedious? This is stuff you do through normal gameplay.
You’ve simply missed the whole crux of the matter. People aren’t upset about only having to do three things or the new rewards. People arne’t happy because they want gather 4 of x anywhere, not just gather plants in Ascalon. I mean, today, I’ve done several world bosses and several dungeons and I’ve not even made a dent in my daily. That’s not right or fun.
Gaile, thanks for relaying our feedback.
If you want Picasso, you don’t buy Malevich because you can afford it. You either save for Picasso or buy nothing at all. And you know it.
Of course he does. But he’d rather make anyone who has issues with the current precursor system look like they’re lazy and entitled… for what purpose? I’m really not sure. Trolling I guess.
He’s not one to have an honest argument with. Best to report this thread since he’s already made one like this and move on.
No. Put at least a tiny bit of effort in to get your AP.
[devil’s advocate]
Why? We don’t have to put in any effort for our laurels now?
[/devil’s advocate]
The purpose of the daily system is to get people out into other areas of the game.
I hadn’t realised you were an ANet dev.
Players are not being forced to do daily achievements
If players want the AP, then yes, they must do three dailies. That is a requirement to satisfy a desire. Before, said desire could be satisfied in a much broader manner. people are expressing that they wish for these broad choices to return. This is called constructive criticism and something a game developer should welcome.
Also, please don’t do the whole “well the game is optional” statement as it’s not an argument and doesn’t change the fact that the daily achievements are optional.
It is very much an argument and I’ll use it if I like. You don’t get to decide what I say, sorry. The game being an optional thing is quite the important factor as because if ANet’s taking choices away and causing the game to feel more like a chore for people to complete dailies as they used to, it could lead to people making other choices about the game, such as not playing. To tell people what they don’t need or aren’t required in your perception for their fun is entirely unhelpful.
Players can still play the game how they want like before. I’m starting to think that players do not understand what “play how they want” really means and instead think it means “reward me how I want”.
There you go again with that argument. Trying to equate something that isn’t equal. People aren’t asking to get rewards from chatting or a precursor upon login. They’re asking to have broad dailies, to view a vista anywhere for example. It’s called a compromise. But you’d rather make people out to be worse than that as usual. It’s tiresome.
Luckily one doesn’t have to do every one of the achievements to get the meta done. One can pick and chose.
I don’t love guitar hero but I love bell choir. So, I’ll continue to play it and be happy ANet created it.
You don’t like it? Do something else.
I don’t like the pvp mini game but I don’t moan about that. I just don’t do it.
