Guild Wars 2

As I was playing my Mesmer in arenas (both solo and team queue) I noticed my energy sigils weren’t working when I weapon switched.

I use Sword/Pistol and Greatsword or Staff/Greatsword as my weapons. I use Sigil of Energy and Strength

It’s very annoying and usually costs me near deaths. Sometimes the sigil worked, sometimes it just doesn’t.

For PvP, a lot of classes are viable bUT Thief (S/D specifically), some Warrior “cheese” builds, and Engineer.

For WvW, I think anything is viable there to be honest, just build dependent.

For WvW roaming, idk really. Anything really good in 1v1

For PvE, anything really. Warriors, Guardians and elementalists kill really fast though.

Dungeon, I would say Warrior, Guardian and Elementalist again.

I am a main Mesmer but I highly recommend you don’t choose one as your class. We are almost unviable in sPvP, veilbots in WvW zerg, and are only used for Time Warp in dungeons (even then….)

I kind of agree with Mad Queen. Even in some of my organized runs, people mostly ignore CC skills, but I can sometimes get a good window of opportunity and interrupt something good.

Also, it’s not called tactical snark. It’s called being a rude kitten. (I censored myself )

Your definition of swarmed is terribly exaggerated.

I’ve been roaming random maps (Queens, Malestrom, Plains of Ashford…etc…) and it is not at all swarmed.

Just today I was in Queensdale trying to see if new players needed help and almost every Dynamic Event I went to had 1-2 persons or just myself

I’ve seen random NPCs (especially Asurans) target ambient raccoons, rabbits, rats, owls, birds and kill them for no reason, with their victorious battle cry “NEVER CAPITULATE”

We can probably do most things Kasmeer does but they would be imbalanced considering game play (especially PVP, also, imagine if we were able to use Kasmeer styled portals during Jumping Puzzles. Or her blinks….)

I also questioned the same thing Shardelyss. The whole time, I was like… Your not the only Mesmer in the world, Kasmeer. (But again… Mechanic reasons…)

During my play through, I even made a portal for the NPCs and they refused. What snobs.

I know player Mesmers are able to summon portals…. I main a Mesmer… I don’t know what your arguing about to be honest.

I meant that Kasmeer was able to use Portals unlike PC Mesmers. She can create them at range, while PC Mesmers have to get from point A to B.

But that’s besides the whole point of my post. I’m assuming they are making a powerful Mesmer character because… Well you can write anything (lore wise or even game play mechanic wise) with such a character as their tool.

I honestly just thought it was her being a Mesmer. I’m kind of offended now that my Mesmer doesn’t have the power to detect simple lies.

Mesmers are a good plot device in this game though. Just think about how many Mesmers you meet during the personal story and how important their abilities are to some of the story lines. Like the Orrian Mesmer disguised as part of the Pact. Queen Jenna and Anise being able to predict Scarlet’s attack. Kasmeer breaking the Tower of Nightmare’s veil. Watchwork Knights being tied to illusions. Even in some gw1 story lines when they stated Koro Sagewind conjured up a huge illusion but was blinded.

Also, with Mesmers, they are able to write some really crazy things, since a Mesmer is confirmed to warp and bend reality, a powerful (very powerful…) Mesmer can probably do anything they want.

Even NPC mechanics. Kasmeer is able to make portals for the player (I assume PC Mesmers are able to do this, but cannot because game play mechanics). Lady Wii was able to cast invisibility for the PC also. There are more but I forgot the rest.

I wish I could say the same game play wise….

The shoulders are just ridiculous. Do they really think that am assassin with such huge pauldrons will be able to sneak in?

The only thing keeping me on my computer right now is FFXIV. It’s not great but I like it, and is different to GW2. Also it’s my first ever Final Fantasy game so it’s new to me.

That was the first MMO ever i got a beta key for and deleted it 15 minutes after start playing. You could only play it in a 800×600 window or so .. and it was lagging like hell .. that was really really the worst i’ve ever seen

I played the original FFXIV and that was just horrible so I waited for FFXIV ARR. It’s a good game and idk what you mean by playing 800×600 I’m playing with my screen resolution which is something in the thousand (I’m not very computer literate…). Also I am on a good ish computer that plays it on max so maybe it was your computer.

I actually like playing with people. I think it did more good than harm but that’s my opinion.

Well ANet does originate in America.

They also (strangely….) got some flack by other countries because of the hurricane in the U.S. along with the mass power outages. They extended Halloween event and allowed people who missed Mad King to get the title and the mask year. Who knows why people complained about this though…

Not only that, I seem to recall ANet compensating time for PvP GW1 players a few years ago but couldn’t do the same for the other regions (like Europe)

I agree with the person in this thread that the pauldrons are too big.

Even on my Human, yes HUMAN, when I preview it, they are huge. The shoulder pieces are near the size of the Radiant pauldrons.

I can’t take a “ninja” seriously when I imagine them making clunky metallic noises and bumping those big metal hunks on doorways trying to sneak in.

I absolutely loved Guild Wars (1) and the gw1 Mesmer. When I heard mesmer was being released I was in tears of joy.

I can handle the pseudo thief mage archetype. Which the Mesmer was never really about…. But ok…

I can handle some bugs, and these are some horrific game breaking bugs (Warden… Still not fixed. Also it took them, what, 4 months to fix iZerker? Wtf…)

I can handle being nerfed, like the Blurred Frenzy double nerf

And the only reason they remade the entire game was because it was horrific.

4 minutes to kill a mob (yarzon in my experience) and it gave an absurdly low amount of experience. Combat was very slow and very… Bad, ruined by massive delays.

GW2 is not in danger, and has a working combat system. It wasn’t horrible like the original FFXIV. There will always be “clinks” to a game due to the system. Check out FFXIV enrage mode.

Actually, if you observe the Mini Twisted Nightmare , they have the same run speed as you and will always be by your side.

I wish they did it with all the mini’s though.

Mesmers are definitely not OP.

I love playing my Mesmer in PvP, but in games like SoloQ, I cringe when there is another Mesmer in my team. I think that I’m already a burden enough because I’m not running the meta of Engineers, Warriors and S/D thieves.

I just read that article and it was surprisingly accurate, even if it was extremely old.

I know a lot of mesmers want MH pistol but I really want a short bow for my mesmer too.

That way I can shoot ponies and my clones can shoot ponies too lol

some people like myself are neurotic about “never running out of consumables” and it drives me up a wall to use an item that will run out if i havnt made absolutly certain (im serious i have graphs and charts and calculators and protractors and an advanced spreadsheet program called spss) that i am using the item to maximize efficency.

So you like your game being “fluffy” at all time? If you dont want terror music in themed scenarios turn off your sound options, I, do love GW2, i wanna only to seek improvements to the game, and specifc music fitting its scenarios its a must for game immersion.

This would make the game better for you. But what if the other people? I love “terror” music and all, but when it turns to bad metal/screamo music then that’s when it stops being terror.

Real terror music is something that’s completely unnerving. Have your heard the SH:HOME Scarlet music?

People will always want optimal runs. The less time spent the better for them.

It’s the same in ALL MMORPGs. Except the difference is that speed instances in other games are gear locked.

OK so in gw2 you have to skip, need berserker for optimal speed and blah blah blah. The truth is, random pugs could care less if your in Zerker or mixed or w/e unless it explicitly said so in their recruitment ad. They want the dungeon done as fast as possible too, but could care less for dps checks.

Now how about a game like Aion, where you want to go into Danuar Reliquary or Eternal Bastion. Kk, you have the required gear to play this instance? Hmm? No? Oh I see you didn’t grind yet. Do you how to tank x? No? Okay then…

I’m already “grinded” out on my 3 legendaries. (Sunrise and Bifrost I made through luck on the TP too. But only helped for the t6 and the precursor) I can’t imagine doing map completion so many times and having so to get so much karma. The Dryad Bow was not a design initially created by ANET. They had a Design -A-weapon contest in gw1 and decided it’s one of the more iconic (and expensive) bows of GW1. So they made it for gw2, which I thought the storm bow was more iconic but ehh…

testing grounds for a radical change in a zone (previously empty zone too, at least in Borlis Pass)

I’d choose Karma too, but it’s really your preference.

I have made 3 Legendary weapons so far and I wouldn’t have been able to without my Karma infusion. (they used to work on potions, but it doesn’t any more. Still, I get lots of Karma from WvW or EoTM)

So far I’m working on my 4th Legendary but my limiting objects are, in fact, Karma and Skill Points. Not the t6 or precursor. Currently at 450k karma, and hopefully I’ll have some to stockpile in case ANET does something really expensive for it.

If I remember right, Kekai has sadly left the GW2 team.

I think your mistaking sub class with secondary profession.

Most will probably perceive subclass as a class of another class (umm… Like Aion Mage → Sorcerer)

Also you could have a secondary profession way before level 20
