Just put on Death traits to have an icd of freakn 5seconds devs….

Since your warriors are not able to kill PU mesmers, you nerf one of the most central traits of a Mesmer (hell, I even used DE sometimes as a phantasm Mesmer!)

It’s so freakn obvious their main nerf target was the on Death build (PU). Instead, the balance teams fixes what isn’t broken and destroys build diversity.

I’d like it too since I missed the “lightning” sale also, but I don’t expect it in another month or so.

I really hate LA loading times…

I haven’t seen the reaction to vigor nerfs as much tbh… Where are you reading the complaints?

Most of I see are Deceptive Evasion nerf and how it will affect builds

There might be some buffs coming since they only announced the big changes, not all of them.

The nerfs are questionable but I don’t think they will destroy the Mesmer like some people do. You will still be able to use the same builds and some of them will be weaker.

Giving Mesmers more ooc mobility would be nice (although that’s a big change which would have been announced). Your idea seems to be too strong though. 25% speed boost + a random boon is better than any other speed boost signet in the game.

you wont spawn any illusions from DE anymore if you shatter from range for example, allready shattered illusions count towards the new DE cap. so yeah shatter mesmer is dead basicly unless we get a big effin buff somewhere else

Hopefully scepter since I’m afraid my power build for sword makes my Bolt obsolete with all the ignorant nerfs from A-net. I’m already 80% do done with Meteorologicus!

I seriously hope that my Shatter combo isn’t killed.

While playing a staff, I go ranged and spawn clones through DE and Phase Retreat followed by Diversion (for Daze + Vuln stacks)

While the clones are running, I switch to sword, spawn a clone on sword #3, Deceptive Evasion and another clone spawning skill if I have one. All that for a Mind Wrack

Which means, I have ~6 clones up and running to shatter

Edit: Good thing I’m going for Meteorlog! In case my sword build (I have Bolt) goes to waste! :/

If you took any economics course through your life, you know what’s going on. It’s apparent that this game is suffering from inflation because there are little gold sinks (not as heavy of inflation as other games, but still). TP trading actually helps because of the taxes imposed which can range from 1c to 100g+. With the “rampant” amount of trading, means a “rampant” amount of money going out of the game.

In fact, I still do play a game where inflation has definitely been unchecked (aion) . Average players usually have 100m+ and items have sky high prices, even for a basic crafting material such as a construction Flux.

Quick FYI before someone accuses me of a TP tycoon in fear of losing their business. I’m not. The most money I’ve made from speculation is when I decided to stock up on Wool for ascended crafting.

While I was jumping off cliffs, I saw that Liadri had taken fall damage. So I thought to myself, is she kill-able? (the mini) Is it even possible to kill a mini?

I use 30/0/20or30/10/0

It’s a lock down build with glamour as utility to help zerg.

Confounding suggestions works excellent with Chaos Storm. torm. Land chaos storm on their back line because back lines are less likely to have Stability. It’s very fun because once back line has no Stability and Chaos Storm + confounding they are most likely steam rolled because of near perma stun (even with stun breakers unless they blink out)

Usually I use bountiful interruptiom if I’m looking to be a little boon reliant or chaotic interruption if I want more of a punishment spec. I almost always use 20% reduction on staff.

Going into inspiration, I grab the glamour trait (20 reduction recharge) and if I didn’t go for 30 in Chaos, I would use 20 here for the focus trait since Temporal Curtain becomes a (albeit low) wall of reflection and has reduced recharge for more pulls. Not to mention focus is also a ranged interrupt, which is still great even if you didn’t get the focus trait to proc Bountiful / Chaotic interruption.

Also with my build, I really don’t think gear spec matters, but I use power gear since I already went 30 into domination. Also I have Bolt and sword is not a good condition weapon. At times, I run into the zerg ball and blurred frenzy for more loot.

My utilities :
Feedback <> Null Field <> Blink <> Decoy <> Veil <> Portal <> Mantra of Distraction.

I always use MI since I’m lazy to switch it out for time warp and it’s a good elite anyway .

*please note: I realize me build maybe highly inefficient / ineffective compared to other builds but it works for me in zergs and I get decent tagging/loot

I’m in the same predicament! I use the staff a lot more than the great sword so obviously Bifrost would be great, but the effects of Twilight /Sunrise are great, however I only use great sword for power builds and PvE.

I already have Bolt which is pretty nice and Anomaly looks better than the Minstrel in my opinion.

I would say go with the legendary that you use more often. Also, don’t forget that Anet intends to release new skills (either weapons or utility skills, maybe even both!) and is why I’m debating about getting Meteorologicus

If only the Anomaly wasn’t purple! They should make other foci that come in different colors that are just as hard to obtain.

Anet is in love with purple, and I really wish someone would show them a color wheel. We have so many dyes, several very similar, yet our weapons are mostly basic or purple.

Definitely agree. I like the “Guardian” weapons like the bow “Aether” or Foefires great sword but we also have lots of blue weapons. Also the Guardian weapons are a lot more expensive and have less weapon variety then the Mesmer ones.

On another note (in response to another person) , why should you care if I like Bolt and Anomaly? I think it matches great with my Mesmer. I play the game to stylize my character not to look cool in someone else’s screen.

I really like my Anomaly and I think it goes great with my Bolt.

However I have my eyes on Spirit Links now too. Looks great tbh and sometimes, I think it’s better than the Anomaly

I met a “Heralded Achiever” and could tell he was in soloQ for the dailies.

Anytime he won, he would repeatedly jump on the enemy teams body. Whats really worse was that he always ran with 2 other people and was proud he killed a solo thief with his lil “gang”. also he ran dat hambow mmmm….

I definitely miss my gw1 Mesmer. They were more inclined about punishment, interrupts and denial. They were back line professions at most (unless you played a wacky illusionary weaponry build)

I also like the Mesmer here too (a lot actually!) But I feel sometimes I’m not even playing a Mesmer. The Mesmer I know won’t let you use your skills just freely. The Mesmer here is more like a psychic duelist. Using clones, phantasm to trick enemies. Gw1 mesmers never really “tricked” anyone. They weren’t tricksters but we’re punishers.

I think they (Anet) put the name “Mesmer” to appeal to fans (like me lol) in but completely recreated their whole….. Well everything. They could have just as easily called us the “Duelist” or “Trickster” and decide to put in Mesmer lore/some skills much like they did to the assassin → thief or paragon/monk → Guardian.

To be honest I started my Mesmer in gw2 because I had a Mesmer main in the previous game. Now that it’s been more than a year with my Mesmer (gw2) as my main, I really love the play style.

I like Prismatic Mesmer build but I just can’t stand playing it even in solo Q.

I love the tricksterr and deception concept on the spec especially because of their stealth. But a lot of skilled players know how to deal with Prismatic mesmers. They have little roaming speed unless you go for Blink (which is in my bar 90% of the time) and it’s difficult to keep / cap points since stealth is a must for defense boons.

Also, another thing I like about the Prismatic Mesmer is they have a punishment type game play. Kill the staff clone? Conditions ahoy! Keep the staff clone? Conditions here too!

I like shatter spec and to me, is one of the few “viable” builds in “skilled” pvp.

I always thought the kit was cute for saying those quotes

Not very interested in Sci fi type games (although with scarlet and her…. Minions going around, I am not really fond of that either)

I wish they would use something other than that dumb thorn.

I mean seriously, she may be naked but there are light armor wearers with bikini clothing getting hit by poison arrows, stepping on probably corrupted terrain (like the thorn….), getting exploded by toxic mines.

Also that Toxic Spider does not look very healthy, which we face and kill, but still

Heavy helmet is pretty nice. However I would have to buy the entire set to get it.

Always wanted a “roman” esque helmet (there’s also one at the 9k achievement points chest) that has some particle effects. Although, I’m 300 achievement points short of the radiant helmet so I might as well just wait.

Yeah… I only have 5 level 80’s. (Soon to be 6 thanks to s1 Wvw scrolls)

I can’t imagine having fun leveling anymore (and some people have 10+ 80’s!)

I’d definitely buy a few levels here and there. I’m also waiting impatiently for the leveling scrolls by glory and gold

Out of all the underwater legendaries I think Frenzy is the worst of them all (Rage is precursor tto frenzy)

Kraitkin would make an excellent staff if we were able to ttake it with us on land

I usually use blade training instead of Far Reachin MManipulation for quicker cds aand for quicker cd and the added precision is nice too.

Most of the time I’m 20/20/0/0/30 but sometimes I use the pistol for fun and do
10/30/0/0/30 with Blade training, deceptive evasion and the pistol trait.

I’ve managed to use it really well…. And even then, he does sub optimal ddamage.

Most of the time I use illusionary mage and followed by confusing images right after. The tthing is gthat I here hoping the enemy will spam most of their skills. (talking about pvp here )

It does a decent spike damage if they do start spamming their skills, however that’s the reason why the mage is… Bad. It is eentirely dependant on opponent action. While I do love punishing my enemies much like the gw1 Mesmer, the mage is scratch damage compared to the gw1 “Backfire”

The only other good thing is that, when traited, the bounces will remove conditions.
