Duels for Gold (Money Match Rules)

in PvP

Posted by: Lux.7169

Lux.7169

Opening up a 24/7 duels for gold arena with a strict judge system in place.

To find the dueling arena search for Lux Fortuna or search for Duels for Gold

Many people I have dueled for gold are skeptical of using a judge for matches and so this is a way to combat that. If you don’t want or believe in judges for duels then there’s no point in reading this thread—its for people who want judges for matches who have 100% reliability and 0% scam rate.

For anyone who is wary of trusting a judge, just bet 50silver and try it out.

Process:
1) Contact judge with both players ready to duel
2) Enter the arena
3) Both duelers send the judge gold
4) Complete duel
5) Judge awards winner of the duel total amount bet by both players.

Rules—these are the standardized rules all judges adhere to unless a special request is made by the parties dueling:
1) One match determines winner
2) Duels are to the death (downed is NOT sufficient means for victory)
3) Exiting combat = forfeit
4) Stay within the circle on Courtyard
5) Anyone dueling has the opportunity to spectate another duelers build before accepting to duel
6) Wait for judge to say go before using any skills
7) Ask judge for any clarification or modification of the rules
8) By agreeing to a judged match you agree to the judge’s discretion and in any weird situation the judge will just refund both players their gold and allow them the opportunity to rematch or cancel the match.
9) You assume the risk when you agree to duel. If any player dc’s after the judge has said ‘go’ then he forfeits that match. If you dc before the judge says go then he refunds the gold to both players.
10) Judges can invoke a 30second warning if the match appears to be very long if no one is downed after 30seconds the judge will refund both players.
11) Interfering with a duel in this arena = permanent ban from the arena and any money-matches and will result in a refund to both players dueling.

After you’ve used a judge from this thread it would be much appreciated if you could post your experience with said judge to promote credibility. I will also be streaming these duels for gold next week when I get a better internet connection.

To become a judge you must contact me and I will put you on the un-authorized list of judges. Being there means you are a contact for players who need a judge when the authorized judges are not online. After weeks of sufficient credibility you can be promoted to an authorized judge.

Authorized Judges:
Lux Fortuna (Lux.7169)
Shinju (Shinju.1083)
Jazz Tomassetti (Fernandinajazz.4068)
Malious (bhenry.6134)

Unauthorized Judges:

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

must be fun to dominate spvp that much xD
(but could get boring if it takes too long for others to get better … because zero challenge is close to zero fun then^^)

are there chinese leaderboards?

im sure you are on a good position there if they exist
hehe

edit:
noticed necro has another symbol…
looks like some animal skull (antelope or something like that) to me?

i like the EU/NA symbol better^^

From my little understanding of the subject, human-ish skulls are ‘prohibited’ to an extent in China so they had to revamp several skull icons (like necro and the Graveyard symbol in pvp, and minions heads).

Except BV is actually easily dodged, even from the most experienced thieves. Dodging it or blinding it puts it on full CD.

No one here is saying BV is bad. It’s obviously the most-used elite with competitive thieves. I believe the general opinion of the thread is that TG has under-appreciated benefits in competitive play.

As for thieves following you around as a reason to suggest TG is bad is ridiculous. Take Caed for example, who used ogre runes for nearly 2 years. Are we going to say his choice in runes is brownish because rock dog follows a stealthed thief?

So all in all, its not un-ethical to use it or something like that? I just dont want to be hated. Thx for the answers.

Who cares about someone’s subjective idea of unethical in a video game? Use what gets the win.

I use TG in high-end competitive play.

People will call you cheap but that’s the nature of PvP.

Pshh, people will call you cheap for just about anything these days. You kill someone, you’re cheap or a noob, use a particular skill, same thing. What it boils down to is that they simply couldn’t counter it and it hurt their poor little feelings because they learned today that they are not invincible.

I think it’s pretty funny when you win a pretty crucial 1v1 match with TG and they go into /s and say something to the affect of “LOL you used TG in a 1v1, gl waiting 180s to use it again”

…and you end up not finding any reasonable situation to use it again for another 180s anyway.

Oh, and it’s even better when the person taunting you dropped supply crate and still lost.

ooo so there is no ip address region restriction?

and i think, no linking to guild wars 1 hall of monuments as well?

BLUna, what ping do you get for playing on china servers? and what location you are playing from?

I get a varied ping. I use a VPN to lower it but it sits around 200ms on average playing from East Coast USA

I’ve been playing on China servers (that’s why I’ve decayed like crazy on NA LOL).

Different? Not really. I mean there are noticeable differences but it’s almost exactly the same.

The biggest changes I’ve seen are:

VIP

Matches reduced countdown to 1 min (instead of 2).

Tomes of knowledge only give a set amount of XP (at lvl 30 you start only getting 1-2 bars of XP—so they do not give a whole lvl like they do on NA/EU).

Only tQ and hotjoin (no sQ and no TDM map).

All maps are part of the tQ rotation (except Capricorn which is not implemented in any format).

No custom arenas.

Panda Finisher.

Oh and it’s the burst meta all over again. I love it so much <333

no solo arena, but why there are the stats for it?

i.e.
in between 196 and 200 the 2 0s in your screen shot.

Several players told me solo arena would go live in June. No clue where they get their information from nor how accurate it is, but considering the game is/was in pre-launch it’s not surprising (to me) that not all major features are live yet (although that’s the only really big thing I’ve noticed that isn’t live).

aaah i see. thanks BLUna and Lux for sharing!

eh, question, why would you two want to play on guild wars 2 kong zhong (china) servers? O_O

i know BLUna has been streaming the sPvP fights via twitch.
what about Lux?

ping / internet connection / location wise i dun think US East / West would have exceptionally good ping with china (BLUna uses a VPN to get 200 ms ping) but i dunno since i dun use VPN for online gaming.

even if i connect to gw2 china from malaysia, i dun know what ping i will get. but last time when i was playing wow taiwan, i got a ping of 100ms or less without using any VPN.

Well in theory I’d be streaming it 24/7 as well but that won’t happen for another week since my parents have dial up (not even joking… it makes the lag that much worse). It’s fun to play even with the horrendous lag. Although I guess it is pretty sad when I can yolo Q a 98% winrate over ~200 tpvp games LOL.

That aside it’s an interesting experience, especially seeing the VIP system. While I don’t think VIP would sit well with some people on NA I absolutely love it. The conveniences it offers on such low cooldowns and precursor at the end (which is estimated to take ~10 months to reach) is fascinating. I could go on but I guess that’s off topic.

Oh and I guess my main question is, what’s the point of playing on NA servers for me? I’m a triple dragon, who doesn’t enjoy wvw or pve, so really all I would be doing is maintaining top 50 on a pointless leaderboards for loot that pve players wouldn’t bother pressing F to pick up. Of course that’s an exxageration but I am thoroughly enjoying pvp in China. One of my friends hit r60 yesterday (he’s been playing 2 weeks), and I am r42 or r43 after 1 week. I am thoroughly enjoying seeing the pvp scene develop and it’s interesting to see them running meta builds for us but not quite grasping the theories behind the builds.

Thief:
Inf arrow has an arc so it can cause LoS issues. However if you understand the arc you can bypass some LoS issues by jump casting inf arrow. Note: it’s significantly more difficult now for newer thieves to understand the arc since a patch has removed the actual arrow animation.

Angle camera for x4 HS in a BP

Shadow shot if reflected by an enemy will teleport the enemy to YOU.

Your down skill 1 when stealthed can be thrown twice and land twice if there is sufficient distance between you and the enemy. You could also probably shoot two surprise shots if you used haste.

You can purposely reveal yourself with a mug steal after you have precast your backstab to take advantage of the new GM trait that gives +400? power while revealed.

Shadowshot backstab for a teleporting backstab that also blinds.

Using SoH steal will not cancel the action of ressing an ally or stomping an enemy and it will interrupt the enemy’s action.

Using your downed teleport skill to LoS a downed warrior/engie 2 skill to ensure your ally gets the stomp

Don’t forget SB5 is also an aoe blind.

Stolen whirling axe also can reflect projectiles unlike the warrior version

Steal can be used without a target to reap benefits from thrill of the crime.

The ONLY time I know of when you can exit a shadow refuge without revealing yourself is if you are downed inside of it and you teleport out of it. At that point you will maintain as much stealth as you accumulated.

Cluster bomb has a sizable impact radius but a very small area where it must land, meaning you can cluster an area right outside of the sanctuary, wall of reflection, smoke screen and it will still hit everyone for full damage.

Choking gas will not reveal you—throw gunk WILL reveal you.

Crit haste trait will only visually make you stomp faster—you must stand still until the stomp is completely processed or you will interrupt it.

Juke stomping eles is possible if you start the stomp right before they mist form it will be just enough time to successfully complete it—you may need to teleport if they move.

If you cast HS as a Mesmer uses her downed stealth port you will HS to her new hidden location and you can proceed to BP auto attack there.

If you blind a Mesmer her clone or illusion spawn will fail and be on full recharge.

Hide in shadows removes poison before proccing the heal affect so poison will not affect the efficacy of the heal (don’t forget it also removes all bleed stacks and burning)!

Stealthed treb shots give no warning.

Cluster bombing a smoke field when an enemy is stomping an ally will stealth the ally but keep you revealed so you can keep or contest a point while your stealthed ally has another opportunity to be ressed.

Jumpcasting HS can by bypass some obstacles that would otherwise obstruct the pathing to your target.

I’ll add more later.

how much gold do they get from drops? maybe for us, it’s 1G but maybe 10G for them? them chinese gold farmers!

From the PvE content I’ve played (map completion of queensdale and about 10 hours in WvWvW) all of those drops appear to be pretty standard.

As for the rest of the game and lvl80 content I have no idea.

Lux.7169

Sorry for the hiccup, here’s the mithril and I also found Powerful blood (pretty sure this is the t6)

What i found interesting about the screenshot is the gold in your wallet, 18g.

Now, i am assuming a couple of things about you from info gathered from your posts:

You played GW2 on a NA/EU server before but did mostly pvp, so you didnt monitor the economy very closely. I also assume that the screenshots you are posting are from your Chinese account, which has been active for about 2 weeks? What i would like to know is, how you accumulated those 18g. Was it from regular rewards and selling loot from average gameplay ( a little bit of everything) or from specific farming for certain mats/events, by trading/playing the trading post or did you buy gold with gems?
The reason why i am asking is that 18g seems alot to me compared to what we earned when GW2 came out.

Personally, i started playing GW2 3 days before regular release and i never played GW1 before, so everything was new to me. I used the tp once in a while but only to sell loot, not for profit trading like i do now. I think i hit lvl 80 within 2 weeks and spent the next 10 weeks getting map completion, gearing up into exotics, checking out dungeons, wvw, pvp, farming, a little bit of everything.
I still remember that the Grandmaster Trait Manual, which was available at lvl 60, cost 1 gold and and it was 1 week after I hit lvl 80 that i could afford to spare that 1 gold.
I dont think I ever had more than 5g within the first 3 months and i played several hours daily.

Now i just assume that you are an average player, so 18g after 2 weeks seems like alot compared to GW2 early weeks. This would explain the relatively high prices of the items you posted compared to our TP.

In general, i think that the average chinese player earns more gold from playing the same content as we did shortly after release. And that is not because all chinese players are “mad farmers” but because the reward structure changed so much within the last 20 months (assuming the reward structure on NA/EU right now is the same as in China). During the first 3 months the median player maybe made 30s in gold rewards from faucets and 70s from loot drops at their current tp value per day. And considering that during those first 3 months you spent alot of gold (or silver) on gearing up your main, level up your crafts, waypoint and repair costs (a couple of silver for repairs and waypoints per day may sound trivial now but it certainly wasnt during the first weeks), there wasnt much left of that 1g I earned per day.

So maybe the median chinese player is now earning 5g per day (not sure about gold faucets but loot drops seem to be far more valuable from your screenshots).

The gold in game has to come from somewhere and to me it seems there is much more gold per account available in China right now than in the early NA/EU days.
As i said, my first suspicion would be that gold faucets are more flush in china compared to us and another reason i can think of is that the gem/gold exchange has been stocked up with more gold/gems.

Can you give us an insight maybe, how much 800 gems cost in local currency or $/€?
The box price for GW2 in China was way below NA/EU as far as i have heard, presumably 13 instead of 50 bucks. I have a suspicion that gems (or in game gold) are alot cheaper to obtain in China than over here in the first weeks…

I’ve actually only been playing ~4 or 5 days now. This should explain what I have (I’ve made nearly 100g through my method)

I think I hinted at it in my OP but it may have been in a different post. PvP in the beginning is very rewarding (so it would have been great for a player like me when gw2 first came out since all I did was pvp).

To explain the image without having to compare it from an english image:
-180 wins in team PvP, 3 losses in tPvP

20-30 silver per win for each tPvP match and I’ve been buying t6 bags with my laurels (monthly + dailys I’ve gotten a total of about 15 laurels which is about 15gold worth of mats if I sell them to the TP).

Oh and I’ve been doing the dungeon reward tracks and salvaging the exotic weps/armors for ecto to merch.

I’ve got 18g because I’ve been buying tormented weps as an investment opportunity whenever I can afford another since gold seems to be losing value by the minute over there.

edit: to answer your question about the gem price, I honestly have no idea how much any amount of gems would be. I am really curious to know that as well.

Darnit. That would have been a massive market efficiency if not for the karma restrictions (which is probably why ecto price is still cheap), as people do not have karma stockpiled.

Ecto prices have actually plummeted recently from my personal observations.

I was selling them around ~70silver each. I only know this because I’d do the dungeon reward tracks in pvp and get exotic armor and salvage them for ecto since they’re pretty much useless unless I wanted to use them as MF fodder and hope for a nice—sellable—drop.

It’s true that NA/EU <-> China has no effect on us but it is still interesting to see the pricing between the two economies. I’m sure 99% of the time the China market will be reactive to the NA/EU.

These prices are interesting because the buy orders between the two are roughly similar. But the sell listings of course are quite outrageous. You could say that these items are being hoarded by speculators.

OP, can you check the prices of mithril ore and T5 mats?

If I saw these prices, I would absolutely take advantage of the mystic forge at this time. It is worth the gamble.

You said “I honestly don’t even know why thru put the limit on his much gold you can mail since they allow you to mail skins and weapons. I can mail my tormented weps (all worth more than 10g but I can’t mail 10gold”.

That would be another way to transfer gold, by sending items through the email for someone else to sell. Possibly an easier method than locating gem cards to give to someone else.

It’s just a thought. I can easily see people grouping up to take advantage of a windfall like a precursor if they are willing to wait to get the full benefit of it rather than one person selling for a few gold, like the first ones were here. I can also see groups of people buying precursors to make Legendaries as a group to sell as a group project.

Sure is possible but when it comes to things like this I tend to air on the side if Occam’s razor, unless presented with sufficient evidence to the contrary.

In the NA/EU BETA, there were lots of interesting market reactions, mostly due to the fact that everyone knew that everything was going to be reset on launch.

If that’s the same for the Chinese launch, then I’d want to see a comparison between China’s beta market and the NA/EU beta market.

Oh interesting. I only pvp’d during beta.

My impression is that this open beta which is pre launch will not be reset. That is what my Chinese friends have told me. So if what they say us true then this is their actual market two weeks after going live.

Maybe people are pooling resources both to sell and buy. If they do it as a group the initial outlay isn’t that bad and if they manage to sell its a good payoff. Much better than selling at a low price like people did at our start.

You can’t mail 10gold. I have managed to mail 1gold but 10 won’t work. Not sure if its because its because of pre launch or what.

That’s not to say your theory isn’t plausible. But I have my reservations about XXX people willing to pay 150+ gold just to list an item which may not sell for months. Sounds risky and difficult to convince that many people of an investment strategy.

Furthermore, there appear to be better investment opportunities, like tormented weapons which still only cost 1 BL claim ticket in China.

Although I must say, it really would be interesting if due to Chimese culture they started new and successful trade practices by pooling money together and investing that way. I’m not saying it hasn’t been done on NA/EU but its definitely not commonplace.

About the gold issue. Can someone buy gem cards and give them to amother as a method of transferring gold? Can they buy gem cards in EU or NA and use them on the Chinese gem store?

I know you probably don’t have the answers but they may have ways to get around financial barriers. If it’s a group of friends they might be willing to hold out for a payout in the future and be willing to trust each other with gifts of gem cards.

I am 99% sure you cannot use NA/EU cards in the China client—obviously I could be wrong (but I never even saw a place to put gem codes. I could have missed it though).

My understanding of the China client gemstore is that you need to have a Chinese bank (it gives you about 20 to choose from) and you go from there. As far as I could tell they don’t take cards that aren’t exclusively Chinese but there were several ways of ordering gems so I am really not sure. You may even be able to gift them—I wouldn’t know.

The VIP players get gemstore discounts but I am not sure if that also affects your gem to gold conversion ratio.

I honestly don’t even know why thru put the limit on his much gold you can mail since they allow you to mail skins and weapons. I can mail my tormented weps (all worth more than 10g but I can’t mail 10gold.

The money could be deposited into the guild bank for someone to “invest” it. If the guild bank feature is available, that is. An awful lot of trust would be involved.

I might have a chat with my guildie later…

Haha true. That being said I’m not sure how long it takes to realistically unlock the bank. I’m on my phone so its hard to look up buil times but from memory don’t you need to build influence-intensive things with long build times? Like architecture 1ir2 and then the building of the bank?

Definitely possible by sppeding things up in two weeks but its also a pretty elaborate way to get around the limit on what can be mailed.

Although I must say, it really would be interesting if due to Chimese culture they started new and successful trade practices by pooling money together and investing that way. I’m not saying it hasn’t been done on NA/EU but its definitely not commonplace.

Endgame beeing gemstore isn't good!

Agree with OP and most people in the thread. It would be okay if they dropped some cosmetics in the gem store, but adding nothing at all (in 2 YEARS) is pretty messed up.

Also, has anyone noticed that they started spamming that you can trade Gems > Gold? Looks like their gem purchases are going down. Surprise surprise.

Yeah that gems to gold becoming a staple to announcements comes across as pretty desperate and unnecessary.

People have been screaming in forums about gold sellers, maybe they want people to realize that you can get gems in game?

Maybe. However I think increasing awareness and letting us know action is being taken against these people violating the ToS and harassing us would be far more reassuring to the community than simply copy-pasting an annoying reminder that players can buy the most sought after items with a credit card.

Maybe I’m the only one who feels that way. Yeah your probably right, this is there way of combatting gold sellers… lol

They also have the insight of the prices of those items on our TP and are speculating.

Speculation aside (and just to play the devils advocate) they literally have buy orders for some of those items higher than NA/EU has ever had. Take dawn for example. I could be mistaken but I have never seen buy orders fur dawn that high on NA/EU and I don’t know the sites that would show that information.

Its not really any concern of ours what their TP does, is it? It might be interesting to varying degrees but pretty pointless (no offense).

None taken—it’s just some raw data for anyone curious to see how the China TP develops vs’s how the NA/EU developed and currently is.

If it interests someone, great. If not: C’est la vie.

Oh, and to answer your question—no, what their economy does has no direct impact on what ours does since they are completely isolated from each other.

What I would like to know is, how did those people get those Legendaries so fast, if the release date was May 15th? Did people do all the map completions and get all the T6 mats in beta? All the karma that was needed and learning how to open the temple of Balthazar to get the obsidian shards. They did all that in the 8 days mentioned in a previous post?

If you’re talking about my post I was simply talking about precursors (sorry if my post was confusing). I may have missed where someone was mentioning legendaries.

I have been told that several players actually did full map completion before hitting lvl 80 in a couple of days. Seems difficult but possible.

That being said, I have not seen anyone with a legendary nor have I heard about anyone with one. I think obsidian shards would ultimately be the real time-barrier since everything else could theoretically be bought (minus the badges of honor, unless you consider buying titles like minipet, emperor, etc to get achieves to unlock more badges).

All of that aside, no legendary weapons have been listed on the TP to my knowledge.

Comparing China TP to NA/EU

I’ve compiled a very small portion of data to illustrate the current difference between the China TP and that of NA/EU. I felt the need to create a discussion topic for this specifically since the initial thread I posted this in was for a different subject altogether and didn’t have a discussion revolving around it. For anyone curious I took a few screenshots and I’ll clarify a bit more on what is being shown. I’m not trying to prove a point, just find it interesting how the economy is functioning. One thing to keep in mind is that China’s open-beta live pre-launch client has been only available for LESS THAN TWO WEEKS at which point EVERYONE was level 1 leading up to this (and far higher prices earlier this week than can currently be shown since they’ve either sold or have been taken off of listings):

Image label 1: Current listing for Dusk is 2,555 gold with the highest buy orders being for 1,000g and 700g. Putting this and the next one into perspective, to list an item for 2,555gold costs 5% sales tax (up front and 10% after a sale is made), so to list this sword cost the seller over 125gold.

In comparison I just checked NA and the current listing for dusk is 1,154, over 400gold cheaper than it currently is in China. Also the highest offer for Dusk in NA is currently 1,041—that is 41g more than the current high-offer in China.

Image label 2: Current listing for Dawn is 2550gold with the highest buy order listed as 1,139 gold

In comparison, NA/EU has Dawn listed for 919gold—that’s over 1,600 cheaper than it currently is on NA/EU. The high-buy order in China (1,139) would easily cover this and that buy-order is over 250gold more than the current high-buy order on NA/EU.

Image label 3: Current listing for Spark at 1,500g and another listing for Spark at 3,000g. To list Spark at 3k gold cost him 150g.

In comparison on NA/EU spark is selling for 1,190—over 300g less than China.

Image label 4: the two highest-listed green items are priced at 450gold and 200g. To put that into perspective the 450g cost 22.5gold to list and the 200g cost 10g to list.

~~~Like I said, this is just raw data for you to come to your own conclusions about. Perhaps they spend more gems than we do (oh, and on that note gold to gem ratio literally tripled over night a few days ago. One morning I could get about 800gems for 10gold and the next day I could only get like 200-300 for 10gold)—so I mean LITERALLY. Regardless, if memory serves me right… prices weren’t like this when NA/EU launched. Albeit we knew less about the game than they currently have access to, I thought people might appreciate actual data. I can get more but this is currently what stands out to me.
~~~I apologize for not having screenshots of dusk and the white item that were listed a few days ago for over 5,000gold. I didn’t care to take a screenshot at the item and assumed they would still be listed if someone went to the trouble to spend 250gold just to put them up for sale.

Preferred topics of discussion:

-Comparing the initial growth of the China economy to the early stages of the NA/EU economy.

-Comparing current and past differences of attaining wealth—for example, pvp in china is now far more rewarding in the early stages of the game as opposed to where we are in NA/EU where pvp is argued to be an inferior way to amass wealth.

-Gem to gold ratios

-Further price comparisons

-Whatever you find interesting about the initial topic at hand.

Dusk sold for over 5,000g over there…
The game was out only 8 days when someone bought the dusk for 5,000 gold.

That didn’t happen.

Oh, then I guess I should clarify. I -assumed- someone who spent over 250gold just to list Dusk for over 5,000g sold it, instead of canceling his sell-order since I obviously have no way of knowing if an item actually sold or was canceled.

Since you’d have access to the China TP listing history you’d also know that someone spent over 250g to list a white-rarity item on the TP, as well. And, of course, I am assuming they canceled it and that someone didn’t actually purchase a white item for over 5,000gold.

Regardless, for anyone curious I took a few screenshots and I’ll clarify a bit more on what is being shown. I’m not trying to prove a point, just find it interesting how the economy is functioning. Simple Code to Detect AFK Right?

in PvP

Posted by: Lux.7169

Lux.7169

How would you suggest expanding AFK detection?

Initial thought is before starting the countdown timer for a match start force players to manually ready up for the map.

So do your match making, where you try and find 10 players of similar ‘quality’, utilize whatever existing logic there is to expand that quality range over time.

Give players X seconds (60 for example), to ready up prior to joining the map. Give players 2 options when requesting ready up, Ready | Cancel. If not all 10 players have readied up to join the map, boot the ones that haven’t, and search for fillers. Don’t allow players that have already been booted/cancelled to be found for the same match, to prevent potential abuse. To avoid syncing, flag players that cancel / are booted for inactivity, and avoid matching them up together in the same matches.

After 10 players ready up, match up the teams based on whatever ‘quality’ balancing logic y’all have.

Finally send them to the map.

What problems do you forsee with this kind of suggestion?

I assumed the OP was talking about intentional in-game AFK, which is much harder to detect. Not starting matches unless 10 people are actively present is another story. It requires a large overhaul to our PvP infrastructure, but it can be done.

No interactions with any mechanic necessary to win for X minutes.

Mechanics would include: capture points (contesting or defending decapping or capping), combat interactions, secondary objectives, etc etc etc.

Whether or not that’s realistic to implement is a different story altogether. But IMO and I believe many others would agree, if a player is not actively seeking any of those objectives/mechanics then he is in practice and in theory afk, even if he is not literally afk.

Running around in base to bypass the auto-kick mechanism or even running around outside of base should still be punishable—IMO—unless they are seeking any form of mechanic that could influence the game for the better.

Without a proper report function for that toxic behavior in-game an acceptable alternative would be a feature that can detect if players are not meeting -any- objective-based mechanic.

I don’t know that these kinds of detections really would be useful for afk. You don’t want an afk person in match in the first place.

It seems more like stuff to detect rage quitting. I’ve seen rage quitters just give up and sleep on a point, jump off skyhammer all game, just plain leave map. If you’re trying to detect and punish these kinds of rage cases, implementions around the above still don’t necessarily solve the problem. People can always just run to a point and do nothing.

Even so, it would force players who are ‘intentionally sabotaging their team’ to constantly run back into a combat situation or onto a node-point. That alternative is far more appealing to me than someone ‘QEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQEQ’ strafing in base—even if they are just feeding the enemy team kills.

I don’t see any suitable alternative, regardless. If someone is hell-bent on afk’ing in a match then they will. However making it more difficult for them to get away with strictly QE afking is better than what we currently have.

What would you suggest being a superior method? I’m all for anything except what’s currently in place.

With regards to your initial proposal in the thread I have no issues with it. It seems like there are two veins of discussion—preventing genuine afkers and preventing voluntary afkers and my suggestion is for the latter.

Most likely since China will also most likely be afforded the opportunity.

My guess they’re going to try and make as much of the new content symmetrical between their two systems to reduce the amount of work they have to put into each one individually.

Some things on china are pretty ridiculous:

-Precursors with many buy orders above what they are in NA/EU (the game has been out less than 2 weeks and people are placing buy orders for precursors for 1-2k gold)

-People listing common white items for ~5,000+ gold (to put this into perspective, it costs 250gold JUST to list these items that won’t sell since it costs 5% up front just to LIST an item.

-Every dye you want to identify costs 38 gems

I could go on but these are a bit unrelated to the OP.
