As if there weren’t enough self-indulgent straw man bashing threads already.
Is arguing with real, individual people really so hard that we need to argue en masse with imaginary people instead?
At what point is this not obviously counterproductive?
If this is intended to change anyone’s minds, let’s do a running count of how many people change their minds because of this thread.
Current count: 0.
Predicted count at end of thread: 0.

There’s a fair amount of waiting designed into the game now.
Indeed, so much so that to suggest waiting around isn’t fun is to invite ridicule and ostracism in a game that used to be designed around fun.
In other news, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Alas, that would open the content to far too many players rather than fragmenting and alienating what remains of the Guild Wars 2 community.

Seriously? I was testing something so I decided to run from Verdant Brink to the Dragon Stand with a lvl 50 Mesmer. It took me some time, and got 1 shot KOed a lot, couldn’t really kill anything but it wasn’t impossible.
Are you guys seriously that bad at the game to think that the difficulty is too high to survive alone on the jungle, or simply lazy to try different builds? Are you seriously that bad at logic to think that’s a convincing argument?
Not really, I was simply looking for a way to show up the fact that I was able to run to the dragon stand with a lvl 50 toon xD
That is something to be proud of, and Mesmers are awesome, of course, but it doesn’t really prove anything germane to the question of HoT playability.
On the other hand, if you were to complete all the HoT maps and metas with a level 50 Mesmer, thread over.

By comparison, the Matterhorn Bobsleds ride at Disneyland lasts just a little over two minutes, and on a really busy day, you might have to wait a couple of hours in line (though probably not).
So think of it like waiting in line for an amusement park ride, only longer, and less fun.

I still believe that theory is correct. The reason you haters find each other in the forums is because players who enjoy the game spend most of their time playing it, instead of posting about it.
The theory that people who are happy with the game don’t feel compelled to attack people who aren’t also holds true.
Welcome to the Haters Club.
The way to resign from the Haters Club is to be honest with yourself, realize that having feelings different from yours isn’t “hate” and respect the rights of other players to express their opinions without being attacked and labeled for it.
Hope to see you resign soon.

The failure to load game news on the 64-bit launcher seems to be related to cache file collisions.
Deleting the cache folders solved the problem for me:

A Legendary Longbow For The Rest Of Us
The problem with The Dreamer is that it’s a shortbow, which denies it to longbow users. The solution, of course, is obvious.
I proudly propose…
The Screamer
Instead of unicorns, The Screamer would fire alicorns — winged unicorns — at least twice as large as The Dreamer’s equine projectiles. Their majestic wings would unfold broadly across the battlefield, blinding both friend and foe alike to the action below.
Never to be outdone, The Screamer’s particle effects would include bright, multicolored twinkling stars, each capable of bringing even the most powerful multi-card graphics hotrods to their knees with unoptimized single-digit framerates.
Players will stand in awe as they witness the cumbrous procession of The Screamer’s giant winged unicorns lurching triumphantly across their stuttering screens.
Ah, but why is it called “The Screamer”, you ask?
This longbow would literally scream EPICNESS by being more than twice as loud, and twice as shrill, as The Dreamer, with each whinnied shriek enhanced by state-of-the-art reverberation technology guaranteed to leave ears ringing for ages to come.
Yes, my friends, at long last, the time has come.

I don’t think jumping puzzles should count toward map completion. There are to many people who get physically sick trying to do jumping puzzles.
A straightforward proposition that leads to herculean efforts to misunderstand and misrepresent it.
Rather fascinating where it goes from there, but nothing that actually refutes the OP, because there’s nothing to refute.
Nothing anyone has posted will change the fact that some players don’t think jumping puzzles should count toward map completion.

I really doubt they have enough time for this, but maybe they could achieve something similar by choosing Precursor Champions to compete on their behalf.
The Precursor Champions would represent their respective developers, operate within the game under mutually-agreed conditions, and execute instructions as personally directed by Colin and John. This would allow their individual strategies to be put to the test without unduly distracting them from their extremely important game management duties.
And if things don’t work out as they would like, they can blame it on their PCs.

Targeting is easier in some ways with the Action Camera, but there can be issues with hitbox occlusion that make other methods of target selection necessary.
As an example, you often can’t hit that high-priority target behind and slightly to one side of the trash mob in front by putting the crosshairs on it and attacking — you’ll hit the trash mob instead — thus tab targeting remains an important option in crowded fights, especially the kind so common in HoT that involve tight spaces and no-go areas created by high-damage persistent AoE effects.
Parallax resulting from third-person view can also make hitting the target you want more tricky, and the more zoomed out the view, the worse it gets.
I really want to love the Action Camera and would prefer to use it all the time, but found it too problematic to stay with, as outlined here:
Absurdly long critique for anyone with too much time on their hands.
I’m hoping it will become better after an iteration or two, however, and encourage any and all players who want it to succeed to give ArenaNet your best feedback, whatever it may be.

When the number of champs exceeds the number of players present, there’s definitely something wrong.
It may be intentional, though, to allow the event chains dependent on it to cycle by making it fail.
Or not. Hard to tell.

“The finest treasures withing the Forgotten City” are 1 rare, 10 Aurillium and a blue. Those are the finest treasures that Tarir has to offer an “honored” ally.
That’s about all they have left after making the mortgage payments on their solid gold city.
Have you checked gold prices lately? It’s cheaper than any other ore in the world, save for Mithril (see the pattern here?).
Those gold coins in your wallet? Each one of them is apparently made of approximately 100 clumps of gold ore, or 50 gold ingots.
That’s probably what has them in the red: they bought the Forgotten City way over appraisal during a bubble, and now they’re underwater.
Mordremoth had better be careful. If he pushes them too far, they may just bail and leave him holding the keys to Tyria’s biggest money pit.
