Follow Your Bliss
If grinding for a hard-to-reach goal felt like work and burned you out before, it will probably feel the same way again. Been there, done that.
What has been working for me is not worrying about that sort of stuff and just gravitating to the sort of gameplay I enjoy. In the process of doing that, money, loot and resources accumulate naturally — to the point that if I wanted to, I could buy a legendary off the TP instead of jumping through all the hoops. But so far, I really haven’t wanted to. YMMV.
Heart of Thorns will be introducing new ways of getting legendaries that may prove to be more enjoyable than the current regime, so it may be worth waiting for that.
Whatever the case, if it feels like work, then it’s not really fun. Getting a legendary item in a game you don’t enjoy playing — and end up not playing anymore as a result — would be pointless. So just do what you like, and see where it leads.
Here’s hoping it leads somewhere fun.

I’m female.
I’m kidding.
(And actually, I also prefer a less frou-frou-y look for my female charr, but, well…)

I hate female Charr in women’s dresses. To me, It doesn’t feel like something they would want to do. But I guess all those people crying that their fem Charr need dresses to look feminine convinced ANet to make dresses for them.
Oh, I see. So it’s up to you to decide what female charr should wear. Sounds like something a typical male charrvanist would say.
But seriously folks, I want that outfit NAAAOOOOWWW!

It is possible that they will be changed with Heart of Thorns, as the “Fractal Mastery Track” will give access to “new dailies” for fractals, which could suggest that fractals might be given their own daily category. I’ll find the source on that.
I think that would be awesome, and thanks for pointing out the potential HoT impact!
Hopefully it will set things up in a way that makes everyone happier.

I’m all for fractals being more rewarding to play, but have no interest in them personally, and would prefer they not displace other PvE daily options, like world bosses and map events.

But seriously. If you don’t like it that much, just turn skill volume off. No need to take it away from all those who do enjoy it.
Suggesting that minion creation and death cues not trigger every time a jagged horror spawns is reasonable.
Suggesting that players turn off all skill sounds to avoid such spam is not.

There was one guy playing a warrior in map chat yesterday that was being crude and inappropriate and being hateful to any toon he saw that was a ranger. So I watched this one ranger follow him around in SW and KB’d every thing he was fighting. He finally got so mad that he left the map. I wasn’t the only one glad to see him gone!
That’s the spirit! The only solution for griefing is more griefing.
Now he knows how wrong he was to think Rangers are a bunch of jerks.

It’s not about Rangers. It’s about knockbacks. And not just any knockbacks. Inappropriate knockbacks.

The Words Of The Profits
I’m a true believer in the Holy Manifesto, and though GW2 may not be a perfect realization of its sacred precepts, it comes a lot closer than any other game I’ve played.
Is that enough?
I hope ArenaNet doesn’t think so (I don’t ever want them to be satisfied with the status quo), but when I look at every other alternative available, GW2 is as good as it gets.
YMMV, and if you can find a better game, play it.

I’m sure the nerf herders are hard at work, herding new nerfs so the cycle of nerfs can begin anew.
Or maybe they’re nerfing away, deep in the nerf mines, loading up cartloads of nerfium to dump into the game.
Or maybe they’re slaving over a hot nerf in the nerf kitchen that just needs a little more nerf.
Or maybe they’re just as happy about the state of the ele as you are.

Appetite For Obstruction
I play ranger I never had EVER an arrow obsructed for no reason
I don’t think anyone has seen an obstruction error for no reason. There’s always a reason.
In the case of the OP’s example video, it looks like the siege golem is the culprit, and it is common for objects to give that error, regardless of weapon. It’s not super clear from the video, but it seems likely circling around and attacking from a different direction might help — or not, depending on whether you can find a “sweet spot” that doesn’t give the error.
My failure to see this as a Guardian-specific problem or a problem especially grievous for Guardians is based on playing all the professions and, over 33 characters cultivated since launch, using every kind of weapon in the game on every profession that can use them.
What I have learned over the past three years is that obstruction errors can occur for almost any kind of attack, including melee attacks.
Obstruction errors can be caused by legitimate obstructions (landscape, props, walls) or by bugs in target models — most commonly attackable inanimate objects like the golem in this case, turrets, mines, doors, siege, etc. Because of apparent gaps in collision boxes, ranged attacks can also pass through objects and give “out of range” errors, while either doing damage to the target or not damaging it at all.
Like far too many other bugs, it has been that way since beta, and is the subject of countless bug reports that have, so far, yielded nothing.
It is true that direct-line ranged weapons like the Guardian scepter are more susceptible to obstruction errors, but rifles, pistols, staves, Mesmer greatswords and several other weapons also have direct-line attacks and are subject to the same problems. Bows and weapons with arcing projectile attacks are less susceptible in some cases (such as shooting mines on the ground that are otherwise obstructed), but can most definitely be obstructed as well.
So while I do sympathize with Guardians who encounter this problem, I also sympathize with anyone who does, regardless of profession, because everyone encounters this problem.
The solution is to fix these bugs so no one has to deal with them.
Only ArenaNet can do that, and only if they bother to.
Always follow what is true.” — Sentry-skritt Bordekka
The accuracy of your Shortbow and Longbow are nothing in comparison to how abysmal the Scepter is in terms of velocity and tracking.
So does that mean “obstructed” errors for professions other than Guardian are somehow unimportant?
Not quite following the logic there.

Nope. You absolutely needed 5 1 point skills before you could purchase any 3 point skills at all. And you needed 5 3 point skills before you could purchase a six point skill. That’s fact.
Yup. I’ve got a ton of characters, 27 of which hit 80 before last year’s trait debacle, and none of them got a free ride to tier 3 utility skills.
The new system is more linear in the sense of having to train up through a series of skills in a given category to get to the higher-end skills, but higher-end skills were previously sequestered behind the need to buy five of the next-lower-tier skills first.
The new system allows progressing through several utility skill lines in parallel if the player so chooses, so it still retains some sense of choice, and overall, compared to the previous method for unlocking utility skills (and elites, which were gated by very high skill point costs), I think it works out pretty well — maybe even better.
