So the only solution is a recipe with a fixed outcome of a precursor (even if it would be costly) or some other way which would put a limit on the precursor price.

When did it get changed? Did him before maintance and he was still easy and boring.

Did it at lvl 30 with a random pug. We didnt have any problems with him, infact we thought he was one of the easiest things in AC story.

Update: Trading post price on precursors made another huge jump:
Cheapest Dawn currently for: 275g 3s
Cheapest Dusk currently for: 263g 16s
How is any legit player supposed to keep up with these daily price jumps?

I am a semi hardcore player with anywhere between 3 and 10+ hours playtime a day and it still looks redicilous to me.

If the instance owner leaves, the dungeons gets resetted.

WvW isnt PvP. Its PvPvE. Its perfectly fine as it is.

I wish i bought emerald orbs just when I saw the recipe. Could have gotten 250 emerald orbs for about 7g. But no I had to wait for some stupid reason.

I can give it a go with ascalon gift in a day or two, already spend all other tokens.

If anything the other dungeons need to be adjusted to take longer. Its boring if a dungeon is finished it under 60min. I think 60-120min per dungeon is ideal. More for inexperienced pugs.

Did all 3 paths today with most people being new to AC explorable. We had zero problems and felt it was too easy even.

Maybe the gifts can also be used to create precursor weapons?

I would prefer more image quality options. GW2 already performs well.

Indeed, I have to use Supersampling and 25% Downsampling to have a somewhat acceptable image quality, but still worse than GW1.

This is how things are:

the dungeons are too easy at the moment. I log in day by day, KNOWING I’ll just farm my 180 TA tokens so I can gear myself with the armor I want. There is no fun, no challenge involved. When I think about it, it does feel like a chore.

My intelligence is not challenged, my gaming skills are not challenged and believe me, after only a few days it became very stale. As I tend to say, we need much more COMPLEX mechanics/encounters in both DEs and dungeons.

The cool part, in WoW for instance (while the dungeons and raids were still good back in the day), was that you needed MONTHS to “crack” an encounter. Yes it was hard, yes not everyone could do it. But that’s the point. When you are having a hard time obtaining something or achieving something, and you FINALLY do it, the fun factor kicks in. You are happy you did something not everyone could, or at least not everyone could right away.

The way you set things now, ANet, is that you are degrading your own work! You made those instances, but you trivialized them beyond belief. The fact remains that you definitely need deeper, more complex mechanics for both bosses and mobs alike.

I join a PUG and we complete everything without any problems. I have the time to do all 3 paths in explorable mode in only one evening. I hardly pay attention to what happens anymore, it became a routine. And for how long has GW2 been out now? Is that what you really wanted to achieve?

People complaining how it’s hard shouldn’t be taken into account. Because it’s supposed to be hard, and IT ISN’T. If it isn’t hard everyone will stomp over available content, and then what? What happens when it becomes a boring routine for everyone, like it has for me? What do I do in GW2 now? For the moment, I need a chest piece and a hammer. Once I get those, what do I do? I move on to another routine, and farm CoF for an example? Is that fun, challenging?

One more thing: you took away the surprise/thrill factor when you removed the chance-to-drop items. It’s too predictable, knowing what and when you’ll get with the token system. A proposition: leave the token system as it is, but add chance-to-drop items (LOW chance) which are better than those you can obtain with tokens. That will be the incentive to run the dungeons over and over again, and people will always be on their toes, hoping they’ll get the drop they need.

You made a huge, huge mistake by trivializing everything, making everything available to everyone. Easy is bad. We need it difficult, or at least SOME instances really difficult. But please change your philosophy of what difficult means. It’s not huge HP pools and hard hitting mobs, OR swarms/zergs that overrun your party and poison-stun everything. Use your imagination, I’m sure you can do a lot better.

Indeed most dungeons are way too easy. Even some meta events are too easy. I managed to solo a few already when noone was around lol.

Dont expect too much, chance seems to be about 0,2% with rares.

So far Sunrise and Twilight seems to look the best. But I didnt see all of them yet, so there might be even better.

As I said it was our first attempt at Arah explorable. I assume a practiced group can cut it to under 2 hours.

cheapest dusk currently 222g 99s, cheapest dawn 175g. I think this desperatly needs another way to aquire unless theres a recipe we didnt find yet?

Not worth gambling exotics, I heared of people gambling way over 100 exotic greatswords without a precursor.
My guess is the chance for precursor with exotics is 1% and wit rares 0,2%

combining 4 exotics always results in another exotic, so the chance to get the dusk/dawn should be higher
combining 4 rares results in an exotic about 10-20% of the time, so its obviously less likely to get the Dusk/Dawn, but it might be cheaper if you get lucky

I just wanted to say Arah explorer mode is currently the best dungeon of the game. Yesterday we tried it the first time and it took about 5 hours to finnaly make it, but it felt worth it.
Please make more dungeons like Arah.

Had this problem today when trying to help out 4 guildies. Needly to say they were very angry because of these bugs still plaguing the game over 1month after release.

So I wanted to help 4 guildies to do Arah Story, but at the point where we had to board a chopper the chopper didnt approach us and there was no way to board it.

purple is legendary. it used to be red for legendary and purple for mystic, but I guess mystic got scrapped.

Giving yourself handicaps is a horrible suggestion. Thats like suggesting to take of half your armor or wear lvl 70 greens instead of lvl 80 exotics.

Please add more ways to get the precursor weapons. I dont care if they are redicilous expensive recipes or a million of karma or anything. But mystic forge is too much about luck (unless there is a 100% recipe noone found yet). You could go through hundreths of tries and not get one, while someone else gets lucky and finds precursor on first try.

About buying them on the trading post: Although I believe I have good money making methods, without using trading or exploiting or goldsellers of course, the prices on the trading post raise much faster than I can make money. Dawn of Rage for example went up over 50g over the last couple of days.
Also I dont see why I should be forced to reward some lucky guy with 150+g.

Yes, this needs to be changed badly.

Hard to say for Power and Tougness, but Vitality always gives 10 HP for 1 vit as far as I can see. Didnt notice any diminishing returns even after 20k hp

Why nerf this? It was one of my favorite traits.

May be easier to buy rare/exotic swords and make the dawn/dusk yourself than buying it from 200g, if the chance of getting it is arround 10% and you buy every sword for 3g you would need arround 90g, less than half the price.

The chance is far less than 10%. Some people used up over 100 exotic items (4 items = one try) and got no precursor weapon. Its probably 1% or less.

I currently got 100g through legit farming, but yet the price goes up faster and faster. I dont see myself reaching the amount needed anytime soon.
Tried mystic forging myself, but obviously no luck so far.

During the beta events there was a disabled feature to link one of your characters to the forum to have him as an avatar. What happened to it?

It always bugs out after it got beaten once. So only the people who are there right after server restart have a chance.

Looks like there are hidden achievements.

Bugged on Riverside [DE], only weekly bug fixes will kill this game. Make them at least twice a week until all major ones are ironed out.

Would be good, its currently very hard to find a challange in the game. Even CoE was pretty easy. I went there with a pug and after we finished they all agreed it was a lot easier than expected.

The Hylek skillpoint in Province Metrica is still bugged. The NPC is just dead and doesnt revive.

Its stupid if its true. You should be allowed to transmute new stats to a weapon and still use the recipe.
I planned to get a Dawn of Rage and transmute different stats (power vit toughness) on it until I can make a legendary. Guess I can cancel that idea.

Dungeons already perfectly doable with PUG. If you need something extra: Make a 24h free team speak server and tell them to go there.
