That is the point of it. The AP rewards are long term rewards not something you get within weeks. Expect to take at least 5000 hours focused play to get 30k AP.
It makes some collection easier, but these collections usually do not give much AP
I love ( /s ) how Anet keeps devaluing effort people spent in getting things done
I wonder if you farmed at least one skin by yourself. But I guess you just crying because you bought them to feel “special”.
Look at my API key, i have zero of these skins
As the game matures…it’s good to allow players access to quality and affordable skins. There are more than enough rare, prestigious and expensive skins on the market.
Of course, I’d be furious if I’d invested in any of these skins, but such is the nature of the market.
Nah there arent enough prestigious skins. I got over 3,5k skins unlocked and most of them I never touch because they are simply worthless. Plus this set is just a blueish recolors of the regular TA skins. No idea why they should be easier to get than the regular skins all out of a sudden.
Getting this set was in my bucket list of things left to do in GW2. Guess it will be ticket off much sooner than expected

Of course making skins worth 100s of gold 100% dropchance suddenly devalues peoples work is much more than a balance change. It is a desperate measure to bribe people into playing this dungeon path. I dont even have a single of these skins, but I still think its just another of anets overreactions.
Maybe we should make legendaries cost 25g next.
It is a nice incentive to do dailies for people who got capped daily AP and have too many spirit shards already

Crafters can sell their products to PvEers who can better afford their prices anyway for all I care.
You make it sound like crafting food was highly profitable. It is not.
To make crafting not completly obsolete?
Well Anet will have no excuse anymore not to make them available next Halloween as they are not a rare skin anymore
No need to reintroduce them if they are no longer rare. Why put even more pressure on its value?
HoT maps are not hard/difficult. I wish they were hard.
It is heavy armor. It should look like heavy armor. Otherwise use one of the silly outfits or dont play a heavy armor class.
There is no grind in GW2 unless you want prestigious skins or some of the time consuming achievements
More like 1000 shields per week. The price went down by like 1/3 this week alone
In the last 24h over 300 shields were traded, around 80 greatsaws but only 1 scythe. So the low price greatly increased demand for shield and greatsaw, but the price drops like crazy anyway. It looks really fishy to me.
I would like John Smith or Chris Cleary to inspect it.Except you have 0 way of knowing how many of those sales were people buying for the purposes of applying, and thus consuming, the skin or to simply relist it hoping for an easy flip profit.
Your entire theory revolves around 3 ideas to hold it up
1. There is some kind of dupe method that has only so far been seen used on the Greatsaw and GGS though not the Scythe for reasons.
2. There is a massive use demand for one of the least used weapon types that should be eating up a kosher supply spike but isn’t because supply is seemingly overtaking the consumption.
3. The person/s responsible seem to be able to dupe items yet chose to do so on two of the most high profile items in the game. Items that are known to have a hard limit on their availability. They also seem to be doing this to such a ludicrous extent that they are destroying the value of the item as a “high trade value commodity”. They seem to be unable to understand how they’re greed is destroying their potential gains yet leave the scythe seemingly untouched and in the 5k range. When people discover a dupe usually one of two things happen. They either go ham and/or the dupe is released publicly and things get so out of hand that the server needs a rollback. Or, they are sneaky about it and its not revealed until much later when the wrong person finds out and it’s made public and thus fixed.
I’ve never seen someone go crazy on only a few items like they are trying to keep a low profile but end up targeting big ticket items and grind them into the dirt in the process.
I dont know why scythe is not affected, but it is still worth investigating this price drop. The current price drop is unprecedented by any other item in the game, especially for an item that has not been reintroduced into the game in any meaninful amount since Halloween 2012 (the raffle from 2014 was a small amount compared to what is getting traded currently)
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
People wear it now because people buy it now since it suddenly is so cheap. Several people in my guild bought the shield recently for personal use (unlocked it). The people who bought it for prestige probably stopped using it (people like me), I am not going to wear a 300g skin.

the price dropped by another good bit, its starting to be alarming considering the skins have not been introduced since Halloween 2014 and only a small amount back then.
The scythe skin is at 5k and unaffected, so I doubt the price drop from greatsaws and the shield is just from returning players. Scythe would be affected, too. There must be more to it.
Probably a dupe, there were people who had a stack of it, but a lot more than a stack gets introduced all the time.
If it would be horders the scythe skin would be price dropping, too
Just make it so that you can loot the boss chest a 2nd time per week if you do the bonus target. Eg you can loot chest once without bonus achievement and a 2nd time if you do it with bonus (or vice versa)
Maybe, but it is also one of the most popular piece of content released so far. So I would say 8 devs were well invested compared to how many devs worked on content that worked on unpopular things that will get deleted again like the new desert borderlands.
Also there are around 220 devs in total working on the game at the moment, so 8 devs is just 3,6% of the total dev team. I think a lot more than 3,6% of the playerbase enjoy SAB, so the investment must be worth it.You can’t take a simple ratio of 8:220: the purported “eight” devs doesn’t include QA, config|release management (which would be part of the 220) nor does it account for future costs (in maintaining the code after other changes to the game, which is one of the primary reasons why we didn’t see SAB for nearly 3 years).
Similarly, we don’t really know how popular SAB is. We know it’s a rare piece of free content (since ANet chose to devote all their resources to the expac at the expense of the core game, a decision I think was strategically short-sighted). We know that the fans of SAB are extremely enthusiastic and vocal about it. We also know that its critics are comparably unenthusiastic and quiet. Popular? sure, but “most popular” out of all the stuff that ANet has added? I’d love to see ANet’s metrics about how many players spend more than 5 hours/week in SAB versus other seasonal or temporary content.
That is to say: I’m sure that SAB is worth investing in, but I don’t think any of us can say whether it’s the best use of that investment, when compared with all other competing ideas
Does a QA member or release manager even count as a dev? They are not developing anything after all
Fix it please, the flailing is nice
Of course they got boring. Anet nerfed them a ton. They are no longer challenging at all even for small guilds
The technology isn’t there yet.
And probably never will be considering there are internet connection available today which disconnect less than once per month on average.
Rejoining is not possible with the current gw2 instance system without making tribulation mode selling possible. Just get good than you no longer need hours to finish a zone. You can probably do 2-2 in tribulation mode in 20min or less with practice
You do realize that if items like that dropped frequently enough for you to get it, it wouldn’t be worth the 100s to 1000s of gold right?
They do not realize it, that is why they suggest it. They do not understand supply&demand or inflation. So even items which would sell for 1000g to a vendor would have a overall negative effect if they dropped “frequently”.

If good/valuable loot drops often it is no longer valuable. How is that logic hard to understand?
I would not play a mobile app. I use my phone exclusively for SMS and phoning and have zero apps installed.
If they never make world 3 and 4, it will be just another unfinished and half baked project in a long row of unfinished and half baked things in GW2. Would be a real evidence of incapacity.
And I am still waiting for those purple and red tribulation skins (or whatever colors were promised when tribulation mode was introduced) of world 3 and 4
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
OVERTIME!!! FIRST TO 600 WINS!!!
Such an easy solution. How could Anet not have thought of this
I would just suggest farming tribulation mode 1-1. It gives over 250 spheres per run every 5min. Those other chests are mostly a waste of time compared to what you get if you are good at tribulation mode
I’ll keep an eye out for the next Guild Chat.
Also, I’m totally forking over all my money to get every SAB thing there is, I can’t wait for the glider to come out
He is talking about this guild chat
Why would you even do tribulation mode before unlocking everything in normal mode?
Of course people would get all skins within 19 days. You can do that already now. Your suggestions would just make it at least 50% easier.
Several people collected ALL 16 toad king skins within 24 hours of the SAB came live. I give it 3 days and those people also have all Storm Wizard skins.
The 16 blue skins are easy too if you can do all 6 zones on normal + tribulation per day = 1 skin guaranteed per day. Plus chance for bonus skin from daily chests.
The orange skins are the tricky part but if you are wealthy you can take the shortcut and buy them from TP. They look expensive now, but in 4 days people start getting their chests from the repeatable achievements and price will drop.
Honestly you just sound like an entitled “I want it all – I want it now” person with zero patience. If you would spend all that effort you use for your huge walls of texts for playing the SAB you would have at least 1 toad skin more by now.

Would love time stamps of interesting passages of that guild chat. I dont have patience to listen to 55min of chat.
Personally I think it would be sad to never see world 3+4. After finishing 2-3 the game does not feel “complete”.
You are probably not supposed to get all the skins in one festival period, but get them over a longer period of time since it is a recurring event. Only the most hardcore people will manage to get all skins this festival period which is fine since otherwise SAB would be dead next time comes back.
And it is part of tribulation mode that you cannot see a lot of traps and need to figure them out by trial and error (or by looking at a guide). Deal with it.
I dont get why people still complain about optional grind like these collections. It is a must have or othwise MMOs are die. It is impossible to create enough content that a healthy player population can be maintained without optional grinds.

Most of our guild seems to be in SAB tribulation fever to earn those skins and aura infusions. And on friendlist I see a lot of people in SAB for many hours too. But who knows what it will be like in a week or 2 when hype died down.
Best thing to do if you want more SAB stuff 1) buy the SAB gemstore stuff 2) play as much SAB as you can to make the metrics look good
Then Anet has a reason to dedicate resources for world 3 and 4
You can also buy keys for 25 spheres in some shops
I dont like any suggestion that makes SAB easier or the rewards easier to get. Even tribulation mode is quite easy after you played through 1 or 2 times.
So a fat -1 to most of your post.
Considering how popular the SAB is and that most of the SAB was made by just 1 developer it seems like an april fool to me.
Getting silver on this adventure is easy, only gold is hard. (I think all adventures are fine on silver level, just 5-6 gold medals need adjusting imho)
Honestly 2-1 in tribulation mode is not that bad. Takes 15min once you know the drill. 2-2 and 2-3 are MUCH worse
I think you need to play through 2-2 in normal mode to unlock 2-2 for tribulation mode
Well that is underwhelming. I would have expected more from a new tab…
I completed Master of Decor for World 1 and 2, but Moto does not have a new tab for decorations.
The description says “Find all the furniture shops in World 1. Completing this achievement and the one for World 2 will unlock a vendor tab on Moto.”
So this must be bugged
Probably something so annoying that I dont want to login for the day
I cant see little people running off, just souls in the soul river
I hope not. I spent 2000 gems just to get the glider
You can solo things in HoT just fine except the meta event bosses. Its just not faceroll easy as old Tyria. But I do not see people solo Shatterer, Tequatl etc either.
