[Suggestion] Forsaken Thicket collection

How do you account bind a ghostly infusion?

They could make it a recipe like turning it into a 7 AR/5 stat infusion or simply right click “add to collection” like some items have for other collections. It turns the item in question account bound.

How do you account bind a ghostly infusion?

It’s not possible afaik, so those would likely have to not count

I’m missing like 3 legendary insights and I’ve been fairly lucky with raid drops and I’m still not close to completing this would-be achievement lol. I don’t think it’s a bad idea overall but maybe don’t count white mantle skins because otherwise Matthias alone has 9 drops that cost 600 shards, plus the miniature. You couldn’t buy that with a year’s worth of magnetite. If you also count raid wing 3, which might even have more white mantle skins or some other skin category with a lot of drops, we’re approaching old yakslapper territory with the time commitment lol.

Do not forget that you can salvage ascended armors, trinkets and weapons you get from the raid for 60 shards and miniatures for 40 shards. So in reality you will probably get over 200 shards per week once the 3rd raid is released. Plus the lucky drops which directly unlock something for you. Personally I do not mind if it takes on average of a year or so to collect everything. It gives more longevity to the raid.

I think it would be nice to have a Forsaken Thicket collection once the final wing of the Forsaken Thicket raid is released. It should require you to collect all the weapon skins and miniatures. Maybe even require to account bind a ghostly infusion, the tonic and one of the ascended raid only trinkets.
Reason for this is to give incentive to keep running the raid in the future since it takes many months to collect everything unless you are blessed with RNG luck.

Possible rewards:
100 AP (same as ascended armor collection)
Title: Master of the Forsaken Thicket
Special Glider/backpack skins or a red recoloured ghostly infusion

A server isnt full unless it has queues on all 4 maps during primetime.

This is where you’re wrong

Not really, the current population levels would be considered “medium” at best 2 years ago.

On the serious side i can imagine that ANet wants new players to start in lower tier servers with lower populations so they dont insta leave wvw after experiencing the 10sec skill lag and hardcore blobbing, 0-24 drama etc…

Why are 14 servers on EU marked as full? This must be a bad joke. On SFR we only get queue on 1 map during primetime nowadays and even then only if a popular commander is leading.
Fair server populations will never be possible with this weird server population algorithm. If I compare any two “full” servers I can see great differences in population. And lets be honest. A server isnt full unless it has queues on all 4 maps during primetime.

So, Someone has 92k Gold?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Malediktus.9250

The easiest way to get rich in GW2 is to never spend any gold. After playing 10k hours you will easily have 100k raw gold on your hands that way.
With trading those 100k gold could easily be 500k gold.

And have 30 accounts feeding you about 1500 gold/28 days (or about 19k gold a year) for logging in.

I excluded options like convertig gems to gold or extra accounts since that obviously skews the results. I think it costs less than 10k USD to buy 100k gold with gems to gold option at the moment which is a pocket change for plenty of people. If you have disposable income and value your time trading gems for gold is obviously the best way to get gold. Farming gold yourself means you value your time at only like 1 USD per hour.

It is a bad design. Full groups should only play vs other full groups. Even a trio and a duo vs a full group are at a huge disadvantage. Not being able to coordinate your team without voice com is a HUGE disadvantage.
So implement ingame VOIP or make groups only play vs groups of equal size, even if it increase queue times.

Mystic Coins again

Players can get obsidian shards from there at a rate of 1 commendation for 5 shards. Sometimes the large bag is available letting you get 10 shards per commendation. I don’t see anyone making a fuss about them being available from a guild vendor.

Not every system added will be available to all players. If it were map rewards then players who don’t have the time to farm events would be left out. It also doesn’t help that the coins would likely not be that plentiful to begin with or as frequently available.

Anyone can be a member of a guild that does guild missions. It’s just one other source that can affect a larger percentage of the playerbase while giving them another reason to do guild missions.

It also allows players to get more mystic coins than from map rewards or increased daily frequency. There are several timegated in place to prevent a sudden flooding of the market and we can be sure that there will be future recipes that require them putting a strain on supply. If the price drops too much, Anet just has to release a new recipe for a skin that requires 50-100 mystic coins.

Oby shards are available everywhere. It’s a waste of commendations to buy them. I horfed up 200k karma on a whim to buy them. Oby shards are not equivalent.

Just because guilds are available, it doesn’t mean that’s a good place to put that extra content. A person who can’t do map rewards isn’t going to have time for guild missions either.
“Okay everyone here? Bob’s not here. Let’s wait for Bob.”
“brbbio”
“Ready check?”
“Okay, at trek location, anyone else showing up? I’ll wait.”
“Is everyone done with race? No, okay every help with race.”

Missions are not as fast as you think them to be.

Mystic Coins would be better served in a more generalized location. Laurel, Pact, Karma vendors, whatever. Even as map rewards, it would serve the population better as a windfall to everyone participating than locking it behind guild membership. Not a terribly difficult lock, honestly, but there are a lot of guilds that just aren’t.. good. I’m lucky I found a few that are pleasant and drama free.

As I stated before, guild missions take about an 1-1.5 hours to do and you get 12-15 commendations. How long does it take to complete one full cycle of map rewards? You’d probably only have like 3 or so coins available per cycle.

The problem with what you’re suggesting is that you will flood the supply with them.

Don’t quibble just to quibble. I already said a once/day purchase, so please actually read.

Where the details differ is in the currency. I’d actually be leery of having Mystic Coins as map rewards, there are several other currencies available to all players, and that’s what should be used to promote extra purchases.

Noted above, Chris has a strong point and some internal data to back it up. Which means it’s likely ANet is going to do some further data collection and decide what to do from there.

I enjoy the high price of mystic coins

I’ll admit to being selfish here. I sell more coins than I use, so I’m not exactly eager to lower their value. [/disclaimer]

Still, we could stand to have a secondary, limited acquisition system in place. As it is right now, we get 20/month. That alone has me re-thinking any sort of vendor purchase, even with daily purchase controls.

A psychologist would be giddy over this instant- versus delayed-gratification scenario..

- A tradable item that every player basically has equal access to, regardless of skill level
- Said item gives no real mechanical advantage, only used in luxury/vanity crafting
- Only two acquisition methods – the slow faucet (free) or the trading post (market value)

The price is what it is because everyone has the same slow but reliable access, some players must have it all RIGHT THIS BLOODY INSTANT, and some others see this as an opportunity to profit off of group A’s indifference and group B’s impatience. A unloads an otherwise worthless item for gold, B gets the latest greatest shiny, and C reminds us of something about fools and their money.

The sudden siphoning of coins isn’t entirely cosmetic, as Legendary weapons and the elite spec Ascended require them, and those are best-in-slot gear. Not to say you can’t get BiS by other means, but it does have a mild power component.

If people need more coins they should buy more accounts. I got 30 accounts so I produce way more coins than I can use for myself

and how long does it take you to log in to 30 accounts?

20min per day if i dont get too distracted by other stuff

So I take it that you make over 2K gold per month from all of your accounts by simply logging in every day?

Not sure how much exactly since prices for things are changing all the time, but it is definitely over 1k gold for little effort. The accounts all celebrated their first birthday already and I only missed like 2 or 3 days logging in, so it was worth the money to buy them.

Most of this price increase revolves around players that are pushing the value up due to the players willingness to pay more. If players are willing to pay more for an item, it’s going to keep increasing until eventually it hits a ceiling for the commodity. We’ve seen the same thing occur with numerous commodities over time.

Right now there is a consistent supply of mystic coins entering the game (way more than are being consumed) and churning through the trading post at a very slow rate. Most of the coins on the market are ones that have been flipped.

In retrospect, this is actually causing the daily login reward to be worth significantly more to players who wish to convert mystic coins to gold.

Chris, the economy is getting out of hand. Casual players like myself are being left behind, unable to fully enjoy game content. You NEED to consider all players, not just full timers playing 4-8 hours a day. Casual players want to craft stuff too. Casual players want to get into fractals and Raids too. I cant earn enough gold to enjoy this game anymore.

This is the only game I’ve ever played that made me feel bad when I play I ‘feel’ poor which is a horrible feeling. Too much pressure to earn gold. I feel a pressure to grind gold 6 out 7 days a week. I cant “earn” anything. I can only grind gold and buy materials at inflated prices. Guild Wars 2 feels like work now. Actually, its worse than real work cause I get nothing tangible like money. Arena Net’s screwing around with drop rates and recipes has been a disaster for casual and new player. I don’t have hope either. I dont think I’ll be logging in anymore. Womp Womp.

Exaggerate much? Mystic coins are not even as much as t6 blood and you need them only in small quantities for the casual skins.

I also fail to see how you spent 100 hours on the collection (in addition to the gold for the materials). Doing the nevermore collections takes like 1 or 2 evenings if you have the materials.

Freshwater Pearls are absurdly rare.

What happened? The freshwater peral price went up from 6g to 12g in 1-2 days.

Total amount of pearls for sigils went from down from 25 to 5. Now more people can afford this best in slot sigil. More demand making up for the lower amount of pearls required.

Looking for a guild with Lost Precipice guild hall. I am not going to represent or taking part in the guild activities. I just want to mine shimmering crystals, so it would be good if the guild hall had at least Synthesis Output lvl 2.
There might be a donation for your guild bank when as soon as I got enough shimmering crystals.

EDIT: Found a guild, so no longer looking

The enrage timers are very generous already. Our guild never hits them even if we have newcomers in raid group.
Except for Gorseval where it is sometimes a close call, but gorsevals dps check is his only true mechanic anyway

Kudzu Collection Info - 4/28

Hello everyone! Quick blurb for you:

Kudzu Collection Info

The “Crimson Sunflower” collection item for the Kudzu I: The Experimental Longbow Collection has been temporarily disabled while we fix an issue. We will re-enable the full Kudzu Collection after the issue has been addressed. We will be posting this in other languages in the near future.

Is it because the bug I reported that you can collect the flower multiple times (for 2s) even if you have the collection completed? Well the Iris flower in the ascalon fractal is the same last time I checked. Can still loot it as often as you want even if you have all related collections completed. Though it takes more effort there

I would actually be ok with fused and sclerite weapons coming back. Anet made a collection achievement for them long after they got discontinued, so it would be fair

It is at the first chest in the JP, the JP does have two chests. I still managed to loot the flower yesterday although I already have Kudzu 1 complete.

There must be more to it than that, I play from two different computers in two different countries quite often, even use different key binds because I have a gaming mouse in one place and just a regular one in the other. None of that is against their rules or user agreement as far as I know.

As Chris said it is against the rules to account share, but they wont do anything if not additional rules are broken at the same time. If you access the game from several countries/computers it might look like account sharing, but they wont do anything.

Really??? I just felt it was a quick port and fetch quest. Go here to this old heart npc , get his crap and then dump it when you’ve unlocked the collection.

Emotional connection?? Are you serious?

I felt Nevermore collections were a bit bland, too. It is far from perfect.

They probably did not increase droprate. But Superior Sigil of Concentration only needs 5 instead of 25 pearls now, which is improvement enough.

It is easy to see account sharing if you combine the usual ip ranges an account gets accessed by plus hardware serials.
Example:
Person X is usually plays from the same network and computer but every now and then the account gets accessed by networks/computers identical to people from your guild or friendlist. That should be very easy to track and I am sure Anet is using hardware detection already considering all my 30 accounts were banned when they mistakenly suspected me to be involved in RMT. (And in GW1 it was even more obvious that some people got hardware banned)
Another thing account sharers often do is staying in invisible mode or not answering whispers during account sharing sessions. If people have you on friendlist it is very easy to see if they are in invisible mode or really offline.

I have a problem with “Craze’s Folly Feasibility Report”, reached (without mesmer portals or anything like that) the end of the JP and looted the chest, too. It didnt unlock in the collection

I tried relogging and rerunning the JP from scratch. Nothing helped.
On the side note you can pick up the Crimson Sunflowers (I finished the collection related to it) at the JP chest each time you relog and it is worth like 2 silvers. Not sure if it is intended.

Rerun it again after daily reset on a fresh new map /ip when Shatterer spawned. Still not working. So I guess I am stuck on this collection now.

Hi there, that area with the Crimson Sunflower is actually not the end of the puzzle. The end of the puzzle is actually located near a large Veteran Cave Troll.

Oh my bad, I totally forgot that JP has 2 chests, the last time I visited the Veteran troll was around 3 years ago…
